Raelynn's pov:

It's been two weeks since the rescue mission. During these past fourteen days, Ryker and I had to travel to different places to attend a few meetings that were about weapons. All the meetings were held in a secured area, away from police as it was illegal.

(Raelynn's outfit⬆️ no ring)

Right now I was driving to Cassandra's antique boutique as I didn't see her at all for two weeks. We texted here and there but I still miss her. Today the street was empty, so I got a free parking spot right in front of her boutique.

I stepped out, making my way inside. As soon as I walked in, my eyes landed on her behind the counter. She didn't notice me yet. There was a bag on the counter and she was putting some books, a torch and a few other equipment too.

Uh oh.

I know exactly what she has in mind.

I slowly retreat my steps, carefully not make any noise.

"Don't even try," she stated making me stop in my track.

Busted.

I sighed, walking to the counter.

"What's up?" I asked even if I already have an idea.

"We are going on a little adventure." She smiled as she look up at me.

"Woah, nice outfit." She added.

"Thank you but please tell me that this little adventure involves human beings," I said.

"Well technically, it involves the human being's soul." She said making me groan.

Not again...

"What? The Mafia leader is scared of some stranded spirit?" She taunted.

"Uh, yes! They are stranded spirits, you don't know if they are nice or evil." I pointed out.

"He's not." She said more softly.

He?

"Where are we going?" I inquired.

"The Cemetery,"

Of course.

"I'll drive," I spoke.

---

We made our way to the local cemetery and parked in the back. We stepped out, walking into the cemetery ground which was empty and dead silent. There was a light breeze which was making the trees move and occasionally making a pleasant sound as the leaves rubbed against each other.

It gets creepy when the dead brown leaves on the ground start to move as if someone or something walked by them.

"So what's the story for today?" I asked Cassandra. She was walking by my side, her eyes carefully roaming around as if searching for someone.

"I got hold of a book two days ago. Well at first I thought that it was a book but when I opened it I saw that it was a diary. A personal diary. As I kept reading the lines written in them, the atmosphere of the shop changed. When I reached the last word, I saw a boy appear in front of me." She spoke.

"A boy," I repeated.

"Yeah, he's around 17-18 years old. When I read his diary, he mention how his life was aweful and how he keep fighting to live. He was abused by his parents, so he ran away from home. He found a shelter and stayed there for two months, they treated him better than his own family and he was happy..." Cassandra trailed off.

Right now we were walking at the back of the cemetery. I have never come to this area before, it looks overgrown.

"How did he die?" I asked Cassandra.

"I don't know, he doesn't know... but he knows where they bury him." She replied.

She suddenly stopped walking, her eyes fixed on one spot. Something tells me that the boy might be here right now.

She walked to the end of the walkway and I followed her behind. She stopped by the last rock and kneel in front of it. I watched as she took out the diary from her bag and put it on the stone.

"Rest in peace," she murmured.

"Rest in peace," I said.

She put her hand on the rock and rubbed the dirt off it. I felt a cold wind right on my back, on my exposed skin making me shiver. I turned around even though I know I won't see anything but it was as if I was forced to look at the grave behind me.

The area was completely destroyed.

"Cassandra," I called out.

"Hmm,"

"Do you see anything?" I inquired as I glanced at her.

She turned to me as she stood up. Her eyes stopped on a spot, her face going blank. I understood that it wasn't a good thing, so I stepped back a little.

"There is a man, he's trapped in here," Cassandra spoke, walking to my side. She wrapped one of her arms around mine.

"Bad energy?" I questioned.

"Really bad." She instantly added.

I felt another shiver run on my body.

"Huh, if you are done with the boy, can we leave?" I asked and she nodded.

"He wanted me to bring the diary here and I did. I don't see him anywhere so I think I'm done." She explained.

We both walked back to the main cemetery. My phone started to ring, making me stop in my track as I pulled it out from my back pocket in my jean.

Ryker.

"Yes?" I said as I pick up.

"We are called at a meeting," Ryker said and it seems like he was panting.

"What meeting?" I inquired.

"I don't know what it is about but all the mafia in the area was called. Dad will be there too." He replied.

"I'm with Cassandra, do I really have to go with you?" I asked.

"Unfortunately yes, only the leaders were called today. Jace can't accompany me, you do." Ryker explained.

"Alright, I'll drop her at the boutique then I'll come to the mansion," I said.

"Alright."

I wonder what this unexpected meeting could be for...

I turned to Cassandra, "I heard it, let's go."

I smiled, "Sorry for cutting our day short."

"It'll be fine, I'll survive." She said dramatically.

We both walked to my car and sat down. Like I told Ryker, I dropped Cassandra at the antique shop before driving to the mansion. Ryker was already by his car, waiting for me with Jim by his side.

"Damn, it only gets bigger," Jim commented looking at my outfit-more like my ass- earning a slap on the head by Ryker.

And yes Jim is older than us.
