I bite my lip as I look myself in the mirror once again. My blond hair is let down and the curls are cupping my face nicely. I am wearing a simple black maxi dress that floats down from under my chest with thin straps. I am also wearing black gladiator sandals and my necklace with black heart on it pairing it with my black heart shaped earrings.

Why did I let Luciano agree on this again? Stupid family dinners. I walk out of the room and walk towards the dining room. Luciano made sure I don't worry about anything today, but I still did the dessert, a simple chocolate cake. He said he will take care of everything, because it's his fault anyway.

He even made the guys help him make sure everything is in order, including their clothes. It was quite a funny thing to watch. Luciano called his father and sisters as well as my mom and Kate to make sure they will come to the right place at the right time.

I smile as I walk into the room to see Gio, Tony, Stefano and Marco in a line in front of Luciano as he makes sure they are all decent. I giggle a little which brings their attention to me. I walk towards them and smile. "They look fine, Luciano, stop worrying so much."

He huffs. "I am supposed to worry. Your mom and best friend are coming over, so everything must be perfect."

I roll my eyes. "And you are my fake boyfriend, stop stressing." I say, patting his cheek a little.

Luciano sighs and nods. "If you say so, Alexa."

The guys breathe out a sigh of relief, probably happy that he will stop annoying them with him wanting everything to be perfect.

I grin when the bell rings. "I'll go open it!" I say happily, but Luciano grabs my hand and shakes his head no, just when Marco and Stefano head towards the doors to open them.

"Safety reasons." He says as he takes my hand in his and leads me towards the entrance. I blush and look down as I keep glancing at our hands clasped together. Another first for me I guess, I never before held hands with a guy.

I follow him to the front door and smile warmly at Vito, followed by Alessandra and Caterina. "Hi!" I say and give each of them a hug.

Vito smiles at us teasingly. "I must say I am very glad to know my son is dating such amazing woman as yourself, Alexis."

"Yes, he deserves someone to put him into his place." Says Alessandra.

The whole thing wouldn't be complete without Caterina putting her two cents in. "And to train him well."

Luciano glares and then and groans. I giggle and pat his head. "Down boy." I say, trying to sound stern, but failing as I burst out laughing, Luciano's family joining me. Luciano was simply huffing like a little child, but it was fun poking fun of him.

Marco was just about to close the doors when my mom and Kate came. I smiles and hugged them as well, kissing my mom on the cheek. "I'm glad you could make it." I then look between everyone and smile. "I think this calls for introductions." I say with a smile.

Luciano steps back to me and takes my hand in his, making me blush again. "Let me do that, cara. It's pleasure to see you again, Callie, and you too, Kate." He says, smiling softly. "Kate, Callie, this are my father, Vito, and my sisters, Alessandra and Caterina. I believe you have already met the twins, but still, this are Marco and Stefano, the other two guys are Giovanni and Antony, Gio and Tony for short. Guys, dad, Alessandra and Caterina, this are Alexis' mom, Callie, and her co-worker, Kate."

They go around, shaking hands and smiling at each other as they greet each other too. It felt nice seeing them meet and like each other. I giggle at my mom's blush when Vito kisses the back of her hand as a true gentleman he is.

After that, we all went to dining room where we sat down, guys pulling chairs out for the ladies, Luciano pulled mine out and helped me sit down. The maids brought us all some fancy Italian dish that tasted delicious.

"We did not have a pleasure of getting to know more about you just yet, Callie, would you mind telling us something?" Vito says, half way through the dinner. My mom kept quiet most of the time, listening to everyone else talk and offering small smiles to anyone who looked at her.

She is not a quiet person, but I guess having this dinner is probably not what she expected from dinner at mafia boss' house.

My mom smiles up at him and shrugs. "I don't know what to tell you about myself, really, but I am enjoying listening to the young ones talk. I can say I am glad that my Alexis was always a good girl and not a troublemaker as your Luciano, a party girl as Alessandra and a rebel as Caterina." She says teasingly.

Vito chuckles as all three of his kids pout and I blush at my mom's praise. "Yes, she is a good girl. But she doesn't let my son walk over her which is something I like about her a lot. Oh, and let's not forget the slap he earned by not behaving right."

I make a face as he says that. Damn it, I hoped she won't need to hear about that. "What slap?" My mom asks surprised with the information.

Vito smiles. "He was being a jerk to her, so she slapped him when he crossed the line. I must say I was surprised by her actions, but my son was just as surprised as I was, but it doesn't matter, he deserved it."

Alessandra nods. "Yes, she did train him very well. His behavior is a lot better than it used to be. "

"He actually says thank you to the maids now." Pips Caterina softly, almost like she doesn't want to be let out of the conversation.

I giggle as Luciano growls. "I am not a dog!" I smile and shrug at his statement, not wanting to give any real answer to it.

The discussion goes back to my mom and then to me. My mom tells them that her grandmother had been Greek and her grandfather had been American. It was when her grandmother got pregnant with her mom that they came to America.

When we were finished with the main dish, I decided to get the desserts. The cake had to be cut and as I was the one that made it, I was permitted to serve it too.

I walked to the kitchen and smiled at the chef. The maids went to the dining room to collect the plates and the chef went to grab something from the pantry. I take the cake out of the fridge and put it out onto the counter.

I grab a knife out of the first drawer and I was just about to cut the cake when there was a thud behind me. I frown and turn around, shaking a little in fear when my eyes land on a kneeling figure next to the open kitchen window. I grip the knife tighter and scream as loud as I can.

The guy looks up at me just as I ear footsteps running to the kitchen from the dining room. I keep moving away from the guy as he slowly stands up, frowning as he watches me. "Bella, can you-"

He is stopped when Luciano bursts into the kitchen, followed by his men and Vito. "Alexa, cara, what's wrong?" He asks as his eyes land on me and the knife in my hand.

I step closer to him and point to the stranger at the window with the hand that holds the knife. Luciano looks up at the stranger and grins. Yes, grins. I frown a little, this is not the reaction I expected from him.

"Zio!" He says as he walks towards the guy and hugs him tightly. I frown as I watch them. I'm guessing they know each other and that the stranger is a good guy? I really hope so.

"That's my brother." Vito whispers to me as his hands closes over mine and slowly takes the knife out of my hand. I take a shaky breath and nod a little.

Luciano brings his uncle closer to me. "Cara, this is my uncle, Matteo. Zio, this is my girlfriend, Alexis." He says softly, making me blush. I guess his uncle doesn't know anything about me seeing him kill some random guy.

Matteo takes my hand in his and kisses it softly. "It my pleasure, bella, and I am very sorry for scaring you like that. Most of his workers know me, so I didn't think I will spook someone by coming in through the kitchen."

I smile softly at him. "No worries, sir. We are just on a bit of high alert right now."

He smiles. "My name is Matteo, bella, and I understand that. I met a few guys outside, but they let me pass as they know me."

I nod. In that moment, the rest of our dinner party joins us, my mom being the first to walk in. She checks me up and down for any injuries as Alessandra and Caterina greet their uncle. "I am fine, mom, really." I say after she looks me over three times.

Matteo then decides to save me and turns to my mother. "And who is this bella lady?" He asks and kisses her hand. "My name is Matte Moretti, miss, I am Vito's little brother. And it's my pleasure to meet you."

My mom giggles and looks down at him, blushing. "My name is Callie Young, Alexis mother. And the pleasure is all mine."

And with that, everything is forgotten and we all head back to the dining room, me carrying the cake, Luciano carries forks and plates and Vito takes the big knife. Matteo makes it his mission to open the doors for us and he then joins us on the dessert.
