JEWEL's POV

I didn't know what happened but whatever the reason of the sudden gunshots we heard, was a favor in my part because everyone in the room panicked and the wedding didn't proceed smoothly as Daniel wanted.

"What's happening?" Daniel shouted to one of his men who just came inside the room. He was sweating and looked like he was nervous and alarmed.

"We're being attacked, boss" He informed.

"What?! Who are they? The police?"

"I don't think so, boss. They're all wearing black suits and they looked like they've been trained for combat properly" Daniel cussed angrily and kicked the chair in front of him. The older man who came to marry us even flinched. He looked scared.

"Kill each and every member of them. We're going to escape through the backyard!" he commanded the man with a loud voice. No! I must get out of here before he could get me out of here. If he managed to get us out of here, then it will be over for me...

Everyone already went out to fight the intruders except the old man in front of us, Daniel and I.

My eyes began wandering around me, looking for a possible way to get out of there and go to the men who attacked here. I have the strong feeling that Zander is already here and they're the ones who are currently fighting Daniel's men.

"Don't ever think about of escaping from me, Jewel, because I will never let you go. I have already come this far and I won't back down just like that without a fight" I heard Daniel said in a menacing tone. I turned my head towards his direction and met his gaze.

"I may not escape but I know for sure that Zander will come and get me from you!" His eyes turned dark but I didn't allow myself to be scared of him anymore. I need to be strong so that I would be able to get out of here safe and alive. I need to think of ways to outwit him.

I have to escape because Camila and Zander are waiting for me.

Many years has already been wasted and I would never allow that to happen again. This time, I would fight for my family and would never let anyone separate us again.

Daniel was about to answer, when the older man, who was left with us in the room, spoke.

"Daniel, this is getting dangerous. We need to get out of here now!" He said.

"Go and check the hallway if it's safe or not" He ordered sternly but the man was hesitant to do so.

"This is not included in our deal, Daniel! You told me to be the one to marry you and your girlfriend and I agreed because you promised me that my debt with your father would be settled after that. But I've never agreed to be one of your man and endanger my life out there!"

"Then, you're useless then. I should've known that you're nothing but a coward" Daniel said in a dangerous voice. To my horror, he suddenly brought out a gun and pointed it to the man.

"D-Daniel, please don't do this. I---" Without waiting for him to finish his sentence, Daniel shoot him right to the chest without even blinking. I screamed in total horror. My whole body was shaking and I felt like I lost the strength to stand up. My knees automatically folded that I slumped down the floor with my hands covering my mouth while staring at the lifeless body of the man who was alive in front of us just a couple of seconds ago.

A lot of blood was oozing out of his chest and I could see how he stopped breathing.

"Stand up, Jewel. We're going out of this house now before they come here and find us" He said and tried to pull me up. My body jolted up because of fear. Just by feeling his hand on my wrist was enough to make me cringe. He's the worst! A devil incarnate!

Before I could stop myself, I stood up and pushed him away from me in anger.

"Don't ever touch me again! You're an evil, Daniel! I was right when I turned down our marriage in Switzerland because I knew how awful you could be! I won't ever go with you because if I do that, I already accepted my fate to be with you and that's the last thing I ever want!" His eyes squinted in anger.

"Move before I drag you out of here by force" His voice was dangerously calm. I shook my head and bravely looked him in the eyes.

"No! I don't care where you're going but I won't come with you! Never" I could almost hear his ragged breathing while gritting his teeth but I need to stand on my ground.

He didn't react for a couple of seconds. I thought he was going to point the gun towards me and threaten to shoot me if I wouldn't go along with him but no. To my surprise, he closed the gap between us and pulled me by the wrist without a care if he was hurting me or not.

"You're really testing my patience, Jewel. Just follow my instructions now that I'm still calm dealing with you" He hissed and started dragging me by force to the door.

"Let go off me! I told you, I don't want to go with you!" I yelled and tried to pull my hand from his tight grip. But my effort was useless because he didn't listen. His hand even tightened around my wrist.

Right when he opened the door, one of his men suddenly arrived.

"Boss, our men managed to kill the attackers at the backyard. We need to go now that we still have a slack of time before their companions arrive" He said. The panic I was feeling escalated by hearing that.

I need to do something before they manage to bring me to the backyard and escape with them.

Then an idea came to my mind.

"Let's go then" Daniel said and the man went ahead of us, leading the way and making sure that it's safe. Daniel was about to pull me again when I kicked him on his leg which made him let go of my hand. He groaned in pain as he sat on the floor while cupping the part of his leg that hurts.

I used that as an opportunity and ran. But I didn't even get away from him that far because he managed run after me and pulled my hair. I screamed in pain.

"I told you not to test my patience!" He said angrily but I didn't stop from there. When he made me face him, I slapped him with all my might.

"You monster! Let me go!" I shouted but he slapped me back. Yes, it hurt a lot but my will to fight him back didn't decrease. I punched his chest with all the last ounce of strength remained in my body but I wasn't expecting his next move.

He suddenly punched me in my stomach which made me almost lost my breath because of the intense pain. My hands went to my stomach as my leg gave out. I fell on the floor.

"Jewel" I heard Daniel's alarmed voice. I slowly looked at him and saw the fear in his eyes while looking at me. He looked taken a back and guilty.

"J-Jewel, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you" His voice was shaking while staring at me. I tried my best to get up even though I felt pain all over my body. Then I noticed Daniel staring into something on the floor, in shock.

I followed his gaze and my eyes widened in horror when I saw blood scattered on the floor and it was coming out of me. I screamed in fear before I lost my consciousness.

ZANDER's POV

The moment we arrived, I felt like my world stopped when I saw Jewel lying on the floor and with a lot of blood coming from her.

Beside her was the man I saw talking to Jewel before and I couldn't be mistaken, he was the one whom Stephen was talking about. He was the one who's responsible of all this. Thankfully, he was able to come and help us because I wouldn't know what to do if he wasn't here. Hunter was the one who introduced me to Stephen 3 years ago and from then on, we became friends and I'm thankful that I met him.

"Jewel!" I was about to approach her when the man beside her stood up and pointed his gun to us.

"Don't ever make the mistake of getting near her or I'll kill you" He warned. My fists tightened in rage.

"What did you do to her you b*stard?!" I was nearly on the edge of my control. I wanted to get closer to them and get Jewel out of there as soon as possible. I stared at her and she looked like she's in a lot of pain. My heart bled of the sight of her like that.

"It's none of your business! Now, let us through before I kill the both of you" He said and then gathered Jewel from the floor; He lifted her up and was about to walk pass us when I blocked him.

"Give me my wife right now" I said through gritted teeth. His eyes widened. He looked like he just heard the biggest news of his life.

He put Jewel back on the floor and faced me.

"What did you just say?"

"I told you, give me back my wife" I said sternly.

"Wife?" He was still shocked and he looked like his brain was refusing the fact.

"Be careful. He looked like he lost it because of what you said" Stephen whispered to me. I looked at Jewel again and the urge go near her was becoming unbearable. I couldn't bear seeing here like that. She needs medical attention right now before something bad happens to her.

"I'll destruct him and the moment he loses his focus on you, run and get Jewel" I looked at Stephen and he looked serious. He brought out something from his pocket and then put it behind him.

I looked back at Daniel and he was staring at Jewel like he was in daze or something. But after a couple of seconds, my body nearly trembled when he tilted his head and looked at me. His eyes were so cold that my entire body shivered coldly. I saw him lifted his hand which was holding the gun and was about to point the gun at me again when I saw Stephen suddenly ran fast towards him at the same time and before he could pull the trigger, Stephen already kicked the gun in his hand which caused it to fall to the floor.

"Damn you!" He hissed when he got recovered of the pain of kicking his hand. He kicked Stephen in return but Stephen quickly dodged it.

"Now, get her and run out of here!" Stephen shouted before he fought back. I quickly moved my feet and gathered Jewel onto my arms. I couldn't help but to feel more alarmed when I felt the blood from her body. This wasn't normal at all. What happened to her?!

I wanted to burst into a fit of rage but that wasn't important for now. I need to get her out of here before it's too late.

I looked back at Stephen who was busy of fighting that man and he signaled for me to go. I quickly strode my way towards the exit with a fast pace but careful as well because gunshots could still be heard around the area.

But then after a few seconds more, I heard police sirens and they're getting closer. Hope rose in my heart.

My whole body was still sweating coldly and the beating of my heart wasn't normal at all because of how worried I was for my wife. The fear I was feeling was like what I've felt when Camila got kidnapped. This was the second time for me to feel this way and it's a terrible feeling that I wouldn't want to experience ever again.

Then I heard her groaned. I looked at her and her eyebrows were frowning. She's really in pain.

"Please hold on, love. We're almost there" I said as I saw the door. I quickened my pace more but then I heard something clicked behind me. It sounded like somebody cocked a gun. I stopped on my tracks when I heard somebody's voice.

"Stop right there. Move or you'll die" My body went still.

"Who are you?" I asked in a trembling voice. I couldn't see her face because she's behind me. I heard her scoff.

"Did you really forget about me already? Why don't you turn around and see me for yourself?" She asked sarcastically. Even though I already knew who she was, I wanted to confirm it myself. I slowly turned around and saw her smirking at me. I couldn't help but to grit my teeth. What's she doing here?!

We're already in a time and death situation and dealing with her is the last thing I wanted.
