"What do I do?" I whispered to Flynn who was standing next to me, he smiled down at me as he pushed me forward.

"Well, I'd start off with something simple," he teased, "like a hello."

"Flynn, this is serious," I groaned and added even more pressure to the floor, digging the heels of my shoes into the hard wooden entryway.

"I'd love to tell you that we could easily escape this and just go back upstairs, but, you see, werewolves have greater senses than humans do so basically everyone in that room-" Flynn smirked as he nodded towards the room, "-already knows you're here," he shrugged and moved past me, pulling me behind him like I was a small child.

"Flynn!" I hissed as I got thrown forward, straight into the room, my eyes instantly searching the room to see many of his pack members, his friends, his fellow werewolves, standing around in just one of the packs many living areas.

"Say something," Flynn whispered in my ear as we both stood in front of them all, he was definitely enjoying this more than I was.

"Uh, hi," I squeaked and gave a weak wave which made me receive nothing but smiles mixed with a few soft greetings. All of them going back to normal as they continued their conversations with each other.

I let out a breath of air. Phew!

"She's so cute!" Someone practically screamed from the back of the crowd, I saw everyone shift to let someone through. A woman popped out from the crowd, her dark hair puffy as it swam around in the air.

She's getting awfully clo-oof!

Her body came barrelling into mine with her arms wide open and when she got close enough she wrapped her arms around me in a locked embrace as she squealed at my delicate touch. "Oh, and she's so small!"

She held me up as she squeezed me tightly, nearly taking all the air out of my lungs and pressed her own face against mine, sighing contently.

"What a cute little human," she cooed.

"Um," I whispered against her and gave a small pat to her lower back, that was the highest I could reach, "hello."

"Aw, your voice is so adorable," she awed again, letting go of me to only move me to arms length where she continued to look me up and down. "She looks like a tiny pup."

"Yes-" Flynn moved to be behind me, pulling me into his chest gently as he grinned at the woman, "-but her bones are easier to break, Rhea, and you don't exactly have the reputation of being gentle."

"Right," Rhea, the woman agreed with a nod, "but, she's so adorable and I just can't resist." She started pinching my already rosy cheeks, smiling at me as her chocolate eyes twinkled with nothing but excitement.

"Come on, Rhea-" Flynn smacked her hand away, "-behave, man, we're trying to be civilized here."

"I am being civilized," Rhea argued and threw her hands back to prove her point but just ended up accidentally punching someone right in the face. "Oh!" She turned quickly to help him as the man tilted his head back, blood visibly dripping down, "Are you okay?"

"Moving on," Flynn announced and steered me away from Rhea, pushing me forward until we were in front of a group of people, all looking to be Flynn's age, maybe a few years older.

They're like giant babies, huge for their actual age, but they act like their age, well, sort of.

"Guys," Flynn greeted them, "this is Amoret. Amoret, these are my training partners."

All three of them smiled at me, one of them shot his hand out to grab mine and sized it against his own. "Woah, her hands are so small, even for a human."

"Rhett, don't be weird," the one in the middle warned him as he shot him a slight glare with his light brown eyes, almost hazel but not quite. He whacked the back of Rhett's head, causing Rhett to drop my hand and hold the back of his head that was covered with thick, blond hair.

"I'm Andrew," the boy from the middle smiled at me, his brown eyes softening. "And-" Andrew pulled the boy who was standing to his left closer to his side, "-this is Jordan."

Jordan gave me an awkward wave with a tight-lipped smile, not one that made me quiver in fear that he didn't like me but instead it made me feel like he was feeling the same way, that feeling being nervous to meet someone new.

I gave a tiny smile in return, holding my hands together in front of me as I sneaked a glance up at Flynn through my dark eyelashes, he looked ecstatic to be with his close friends again.

"What are we doing today?" Flynn asked them, casually throwing his arm around my shoulders.

I listened to them chat, Andrew started explaining a path they found while Flynn was away that led to a waterfall.

"-Flynn, you would love it," Andrew concluded with a smile, one that showed off the gap between his two front teeth.

"What are we waiting for?" Flynn questioned enthusiastically, "Let's go."

Flynn pulled me along, letting Andrew guide us with Jordan to his side and Rhett walking next to me. Of course, Flynn stayed to my other side.

And I thought Flynn was too tall.

After, what felt to be, a very hard walk through the forest with falling rocks and slippery stepping spots, we finally made it to this so called wonderful waterfall.

Oh, it's beautiful, I thought in awe as I stared up at the gorgeous waterfall, watching as the clean water smashed against the beginning of a swimming hole and created fluffy bubbles.

"Wow," Flynn spoke up from beside me, merely a whisper. "This is great. Did anyone take a dip yet?"

"Oh, you know it!" Rhett laughed and dramatically pulled off his shirt, his hands went fast towards the sides of his pants.

Flynn's hands covered my eyes, "Come on, man, what is this? Keep your pants on, we got innocent eyes over here."

"Flynn," Rhett groaned, "don't embarrass me."

"He's right," Andrew's laugh filled the air, "Amoret doesn't want to see that."

"I was talking about myself," Flynn joked, moving his hands away to cover his own while he pretended to vomit at the sight of Rhett shirtless.

Rhett grumbled lowly, "It's not like I'll be completely naked, guys."

Jordan let out a quiet laugh from beside me, I tilted my head up to see him watching them.

I couldn't help the sour thoughts from coming through, Mama's words filling my mind up with nonsense. I knew it was wrong to think like Mama, but as I watched Flynn and his friends get ready to throw themselves into the river, one thought came to mind.

Werewolves did look ready to kill at all times, even when they were just trying to have fun.

Andrew's head shot up from the water, after diving in. He no longer looked happy but instead his expression turned hard, his smile vanishing and turning into a frown as his soft brown eyes turned cold, frantic as they gave a once over at all his friends, even me.

"The pack is being attacked."
