Please be warned, there is a slightly mature part at the end, so anyone who is uncomfortable with mature stuff can refrain from reading it – it has been highlighted at the end.

"It hurts..." she whispered, before she ran away from Arnav into the kitchen, hoping against hopes that he wouldn't follow her there.

She just wanted to sit down and cry alone. She needed to get the feeling of betrayal off her chest – and she couldn't do that in front of Arnav. It made her feel as if she was weak. And she knew that is partially true when it came to Arnav – but what could she do? She loved him immensely and had trusted him immensely too. Maybe a little too much – and that's why it hurt now.

Of course it was going to hurt – she had been living in a fairy tale world in all this time she had been living with Arnav. He did everything he could to make her happy, he would spoil her rotten, he would shower his love on her and she would do the same. Misunderstandings and fights hardly came into the picture and when they did, they solved it between themselves quickly because it was only about them.

But this misunderstanding involved a third person – to be more precise another woman. And that too a woman who was in love with her man. And she had trusted Arnav not to do anything that might hurt her in this matter, but he had failed her.

She had already been feeling a little off whenever she saw Sheetal near Arnav – and he knew that too. And yet, he had suggested that he talk to Sheetal alone. That had been the first blow, but Khushi had trusted him, thinking he must have his reasons for doing so. But hugging Sheetal, and kissing her...?! How could he? Had it been his actual sister or at least a girl who truly considered him a brother, Khushi wouldn't have had a problem at all. But Sheetal?! He had known this would be her reaction if she saw him in that position with Sheetal – in fact isn't that why he had jumped to the conclusion that she would think he is cheating on her? And yet... that hadn't stopped him from getting close to Sheetal. He clearly didn't care about her feelings in this matter. And that hurt. In fact he hit her where it hurts most. And she would need time to get over that. Lots of time...

**********************************************************

Meanwhile, Arnav stood there, Khushi's words still reverberating in his ears. He had failed her. That too in more than one way.

She was right – he really hadn't thought of her when he had hugged Sheetal. All he had been able to feel in that moment was Sheetal's, his sister's, pain. He hadn't really thought his actions through before hugging and kissing Sheetal – if he had, then he would have realised that Khushi would definitely get hurt and he never would have done it. He had been blinded with Sheetal's tears so much that he hadn't thought about Khushi's reaction, and he had ended up breaking Khushi's heart with his thoughtless actions.

And if that wasn't enough, he had later questioned her trust and love too, breaking her further.

He ran a hand through his hair, frustrated. He really was a jerk.

But he would make it up to Khushi no matter what it took. He wouldn't let this break what they had. Never.

However, Arnav also knew that he needed to give Khushi some time to cry off some of the pain before he could approach her to pacify her. Because there was no way he would be able to get through to her right now, when her pain and disappointment was at its peak.

And so he walked towards the kitchen, where Khushi was now sitting on the floor and crying her heart out.

Arnav just leaned against the wall outside the kitchen, not going in. Standing there he could hear her heart wrenching sobs that stabbed at his heart relentlessly. But he knew that it was all his fault, so he stood there, silently sharing her pain.

He knew that Khushi could feel his presence near her, and that's what he wanted. He wouldn't go in front of her just yet, but he wanted her to know that he was still there for her, with her, even if not directly in front of her...

And like he wanted, Khushi could feel his presence close to her – and she knew exactly what he was doing. He was giving her the space she wanted, but also making sure he gave here his silent support. And as much as she appreciated this action of his, it just wasn't enough.

Why bring her in this situation in the first place? If he hadn't hurt her then she wouldn't even be in this condition! She would have been in his arms, completely content. All this was his fault! And this one action of his was definitely not enough to melt her heart. She wouldn't let him melt her heart that easily this time, she decided. She needed to give him a hard time so that he would never repeat this mistake ever again.

Both Arnav and Khushi stayed in their positions for hours and hours, before Khushi finally decided to get up when it was nearly dinner time.

No matter how angry she was with Arnav, she could never let him go hungry. And so she got herself up to start making dinner.

Arnav was peeking into the kitchen, watching her every move while staying hidden from her view.

As he watched her, his heart yearned to go inside, take her into a warm, tight hug and hide her in his arms forever. His arms ached to wrap themselves around her tiny waist from behind as she stirred the food in the pan. His lips longed to kiss and caress every inch of that beautiful swan-like neck of hers while she talked about nothing and everything with him...

The picture in his head was just so domestic – like a husband loving his wife while she made their meal, adding her love into it while taking his in return...

The image was just so beautiful in his head and he knew he wanted it. He wanted it all. With her. That too forever.

But all that was out of question at the moment, he knew. Right now he needed to pacify her and earn her forgiveness. The rest could be sorted out later.

Dinner was very awkward and quiet. Khushi didn't give Arnav a single look the whole time, while Arnav stole glances at her every now and then. Neither of them spoke to each other and the tension was thick in the air.

The silence and tension lasted even after dinner, and Arnav almost sighed in relief when it was time to sleep. At least he would get to have her sleeping by his side, and he would be able to feel the warmth of his Khushi next to him. They could both sleep over the issue and wake up tomorrow to a new beginning, where he will prove to Khushi that he loves her and is repenting for his mistakes.

But it seemed that Khushi didn't have the same idea as him. Because when she entered the bedroom, she went straight to the cupboard and took out the spare blanket, confusing Arnav for a second. But when she walked to the bed and picked up her pillow, making to move back out into the living room area, Arnav understood her intentions. And there was no way he was going to let her have her way in this matter, he decided.

Before Khushi could step out of the bedroom, she felt herself being lifted up all of a sudden, and of course she could recognise those arms anywhere.

"What are you doing?! Let me go! I don't want to sleep next to you! Urrrgh! Put me down!!!!" she exclaimed, struggling in Arnav's arms while the blanket and pillow were still in her hands.

Arnav didn't pay any attention to her shouts and just walked to the bed before dumping her on the bed, snatching the blanket out of her hands and throwing it across the room.

Khushi tried to get off the bed, but Arnav was faster. He grabbed the pillow off her and slammed it down on the mattress before grabbing her hands, pushing her back onto the pillow and pinning them above her head on the mattress, while he leaned dangerously close to her. All this happened within a second, before Khushi could even understand what was going on.

"Look Khushi, I will only say this once so listen carefully," he said, looking at her intensely, the warning in his tone crystal clear. "No matter how much we fight during the day, during the night we will ALWAYS sleep together. No. Matter. What. It doesn't matter if we're talking or not, if we're fighting or not, if we're happy or not. We will always sleep together. I hope I've made myself clear," he said, not giving her a chance to refute as he got up to switch off the light.

Khushi didn't dare to move, as she knew that if she attempted to leave, Arnav would just carry her back.

When Arnav got into bed she was so thankful that he didn't make any move to hug her or touch her in any way.

Getting herself comfortable, she adjusted herself on the bed and closed her eyes to sleep – or at least she pretended to do so.

About half an hour later, when she heard Arnav's breaths evening out, her eyes snapped opened.

She turned ever so slightly just to check that he was asleep, and when she saw him peacefully sleeping she started to edge out of the bed.

Little by little...

Suddenly, she felt herself being turned and pulled back roughly, making her come crashing into a hard chest, startling the lights out of her.

"I'd warned you Khushi," Arnav said in a low voice. "I tried to give you space, but seems you're intent on taking advantage of it. So now deal with the consequences," he said, before hoisting her leg up and across his hip, holding her upper thigh, while wrapping his other arm around her back, bringing her close to his chest.

Khushi squirmed feeling uncomfortable with the way their private parts were so intimately close. She tried to move her leg back down, but he tightened his hold on her thigh, making her get angry.

"Aap badtameezi kar rahe hain (You're misbehaving)" she said, glaring up at him in the darkness.

"Badtameezi toh maine abhi tak shuru bhi nahi ki hai Khushi Kumari Gupta (I haven't even started with the misbehaving yet Khushi Kumari Gupta)" he said smirking, increasing her anger further. "Now go to sleep," he ordered, bringing her closer, pulling her head into his warm chest.

Khushi didn't pay a heed to his words and continued to struggle to get out of his hold saying, "Let me go! Leave me alone! Let me go!!!"

"If you don't shut that delectable mouth of yours right now, you know I have the perfect way of shutting it for you," he said smirking. "I can even give you a demonstration if you want," he volunteered, inching towards her lips.

Khushi's eyes widened as her mind registered his words and she felt his lips near her own.

"No!!!" she exclaimed, burying her head in his chest instantly to avoid being kissed.

Arnav held back the chuckle that was threatening to leave him, as he saw the way she hid herself in his arms to avoid being kissed by him.

Even if she hadn't pulled back, he wouldn't have kissed her – because he knew that she was his, and he wouldn't lose anything if he waited for her to trust him again before kissing her (and doing much more!).

"Sleep," he ordered, sternly.

And only when he felt Khushi close her eyes to sleep, did he relax and close his own to find the peaceful sleep they both needed, which they definitely would get, now that they were both in each other's arms.

The next day, Khushi awoke, feeling bereft.

Only when she rolled onto her side did she realise that it was because she wasn't in Arnav's arms anymore, and he wasn't next to her on the bed either.

That thought made her berate herself for feeling so reliant on him. So what if she didn't wake up next to him? It shouldn't matter. She was angry with him and that's all that mattered right now. He'd hurt her by getting close to that Sheetal and he was going to pay for it. She can't let him know how much his presence affects her until he proves himself to her.

And with that thought running in her head, she opened her eyes with a determination to make Arnav suffer today.

But the moment she opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was an "I AM SORRY" board handing on the wall, with flowers decorated around it.

Rolling her eyes, she turned herself over to the other side only to get startled seeing Arnav's face less than an inch away from hers as he whispered a sincere "Sorry," before he held both his ears with his hands.

He looked so much like an innocent child that was found guilty stealing chocolate from the cupboard that Khushi felt her heart go out to him.

But then she steeled her heart as the image of him and Sheetal popped up in her head again. He can't just hurt her like that and then get his forgiveness with a simple sorry. No. She won't give in so easily.

And so she just pulled back and got out of bed, completely ignoring his gesture.

As she got up she realised that the whole bedroom was filled with flowers and cards, all saying one word: 'Sorry.'

For a second she felt so overwhelmed with the gesture – no one had ever done so much to make her happy. Ever.

Of course her Buaji and jiji had always taken care of her and given her love, but they had never gone to this extent to do something for her. Of course she knew that they loved her immensely and she could never ever point a finger at the care and attention they've given her. But this... just felt different. Something she wasn't used to. And something big – all for her only. And it really touched her heart.

And had their problem been a simple one, she would have jumped in joy and ran into Arnav's arms straight away.

But this was not just any old problem, but about trust. And that can't be earned with sorry cards and flowers. It's built up with actions and words. And that's what Khushi needed right now from Arnav – not these materialistic things.

And so she just walked away and into the bathroom, not saying a word about all these apology cards and flowers, completely ignoring its existence to Arnav's utter disappointment.

Arnav's face fell the moment she closed the bathroom door, but he didn't give up hope. He had a lot more planned for her and he was certain that by the end of the day he would have wooed Khushi back. And even if not, he would never give up hope. He would just keep trying and trying until Khushi has no choice but to come to him.

Meanwhile in another area of India, a man standing in a room of darkness, dialled a number on the phone and waited while it rang.

As soon as it was picked up with a soft, "Hello?" he started to speak.

"Last time you failed. But this time I want no mistakes. When are you calling them over?" he asked sternly.

"Day after tomorrow for sure," the other person replied, voice slightly shivering.

"You know the consequences if anything goes wrong don't you?" he asked menacingly.

"O-of course," the other person replied.

And with that the line went dead.

The man then took out a photo and traced the face on the picture, his lips curving into an evil smirk.

"At first I thought I'll just finish you off. But after seeing you – I thought I might as well enjoy you before sending you up to heaven. I'll make up for the lost times all in one go..." he said, looking at the photo lustfully.

As he held the photo in one hand, his other hand slid down to his pants and opened the zipper, letting his erect pe*** free.

He gazed at the photo lecherously as he enclosed his girth in his hand, sliding his hand up and down, moaning.

His eyes raked Khushi's luscious body in the picture as he increased his pace.

His hand worked faster and faster until eventually, "Garima!" he groaned loudly as he felt his org*** hit him hard.

Hey guys I'm back earlier than I expected! As I had expected there is no wifi at the hotel I'm staying in at the moment, so it's kind of hard (yes it's a hotel because we haven't been given permanent housing yet and that will take another few months :/ ). So as I said before, updates will be slow but I will update whenever I can.

So how did you find the update? Good? Bad? Rubbish? Please let me know with your likes/comments. And what did you think of the last part? Who is that man? And what connection does he have with Khushi?
