She didn't know why, but the garden had become her new favorite spot. Lena loved helping the gardener water the flowers. The new lady of the house recently learned that Mrs. Smith is one of the workers that had served her husband's family the longest.

The kind gardener had told her many tales of her husband's naughty childhood. Slowly, Lena started to get to know the workers in the mansion better.

Unlike other people, The Phantom does not practice slavery.

He does not have any slaves. All he had were workers—people who work with him and got paid monthly.

Before he was even born, The Phantom's family had prepared a few blocks of buildings not too far from their mansion. Those buildings were built specifically for their workers. Each family would get an apartment.

That would explain why most workers there had served The Phantom's family for ages.

Lena's husband never seemed to fail in surprising her. She had to admit. The Phantom is one of a kind.

A little smile crept on her face when the young lady Luthor saw how the waterdrops on the flowers' petals sparkled as the sun shown above them.

Out of nowhere, just above her knee, Lena could feel a soft pull on her dress. The young lady turned around, and instantly she was met with a pair of glazing blue orbs.

"Gabriel?"

Lena asked in such a soft, almost whispering tone.

The little boy took a step away from her. Standing neatly in his tailor-made suit, Gabriel rubbed the back of his neck before pulling something out of his pocket. Lena already knew what it was.

It was a letter from her husband.

She never knew how or where Gabriel got all of his letters from, but he was always the one who gave the phantom's message to her.

Carefully, the little boy handed the letter to Lena. With a smile, Lena took the note from him. Gabriel never said a word to her. She didn't know if it was because he was mute or he is just shy. She hoped it was the latter.

"Thank you very much, Gabriel. Why don't you go to the kitchen and ask for some sweets from Tania?"

A huge grin appears on the little boy's face. He nodded happily as he skipped his way to the kitchen—all without saying anything to Lena.

Once Gabriel could no longer be seen from where she was standing, Lena's attention turned to the letter in her hands. Her brows furrowed in confusion.

It wasn't a letter from her husband.

The phantom's letter was always sealed with a golden K.D  seal. The one in her hands did not have such a seal, but instead, it had one with a typical plain red wax.

To put an end to her confusion, Lena quickly read the letter.

She was right. It was not a letter from The Phantom. It is an invitation to visit Phantom Trade's main headquarter in London and have a meeting with the officers there.

Phantom Trade...

Now, where had she heard that name before? Oh, yeah, it was the name of her husband's company.

But that didn't make any sense... These types of meetings rarely involved women. Most of the time, only men are involved in those kinds of meetings. Lena is a girl so that she couldn't be involved in that meeting.

They must have meant the letter for her husband... But, then, it is written in that letter that it is for her.

Lena's brows furrowed in confusion.

"I'm not sure my master would be pleased if he saw his wife frowning like that."

Without even realizing it, Lena rolled her eyes when she heard a sure valet's voice coming her way.

"Well, if it isn't my favorite valet."

Lena said dryly. Winn chuckled at her reaction. He didn't know he could annoy the young lady by merely being around her.

"The one and only, Winn Scott, at your service, ma'am."

He says as he dramatically bows his head slightly with one of his arms crossed on his chest. Lena laughed at his absurd gesture.

They had thrown away formality the first day they met, and they were not planning to start now.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever, is there anything I can help you with?"

Lena asked with a smile on her face.

"As a very concerned valet, I am just wondering what has been bothering the precious mind of my master's wife."

Winn explained, still in his professional valet facade. The young lady couldn't help but chuckle.

Without any word, she handed the letter that she had just received a few minutes ago to him. She waited as the valet read the letter calmly.

"What's wrong with the letter?"

The valet asked once he finished reading. There wasn't even a slight bit of surprise on his face. How could he not see what was wrong with the letter? She is not supposed to attend such a meeting, and yet she received that letter. That was what was wrong with the message! She was not supposed to have received it.

"Don't you get it? These kinds of things are my husband's responsibility. I am merely his wife, and on top of that, I'm a woman. I am not supposed to attend this meeting."

Upon hearing what Lena just said, Winn quickly clicked his tongue a few times. A clear sign of disagreement.

"Lena, Lena, Lena... If you had married another man, it would probably go that way. But, you have married The Phantom. What is his is yours. You are also the owner of Phantom Trade. Isn't it only logical for you to check on your company?"

Lena looked at Winn weirdly. It took a while before the realization hit her.

The Phantom is giving her equality.

"Are you serious, Winn?! Do you know what this means? He is giving me equality. Equality! The Phantom... He trusts me... So much."

"Yes, he does."

The valet agreed.

"Wow... This is so..."

Lena stopped. She tried to think of the best words to explain her situation.

"So?"

He asked, urging the young lady to continue.

"So unheard of..."

She said, amused.

Winn smiled at how surprised the woman in front of him was. Of course, it was going to shock her. Equality is the one thing no man in London dared to give their wife. They were probably afraid of their wife running away with their money, or they just didn't think their wife deserved such a thing.

Besides that, Kara was also a girl, like Lena. She knew how it felt like to be underestimated by someone simply because of her gender. That is probably why she granted equality to her wife.

"So, are you going to attend the meeting or not? If you are, then, you better hurry. It takes three hours to get to London from here, and you better bring some clothes with you. The horses need to rest, and you need to put James into consideration too. He just came back home after sending some paperwork to Nottingham. Poor James, he must be tired... Anyway, you need to spend the night. Don't worry, I'm sure-"

"SHUSH!"

Lena suddenly stopped the valet with her index finger in front of him.

"I beg you... Please, please, shut up! You're starting to sound like my mother. Too fast, too loud, too... Ughhhh..."

She said with such an annoying face. Without any word, Winn brought his index finger and thumb in front of his face. He made a zipping sign with his fingers. Silently, telling the young lady Luthor, his mouth was now sealed.

Almost immediately, Lena sighed in relief.

"Good. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to pack my clothes. I have a meeting to attend."

She said and then started to walk away from the valet. Just a few steps away, and then Winn suddenly called out for her. She couldn't help but growl as she turned around to look at the valet.

"WHAT?!"

Winn jumped slightly in surprise at how harsh Lena sounded. He put one of his hands above his chest, slowly rubbing it, telling his heart to calm down. Gosh, he swears one of these days, Lena is going to give him a heart attack.

"Umm, The Phantom said he has a surprise for you once you come home from the meeting."

The valet said when his heart had finally calmed down.

Lena's brows furrowed once again at the word 'surprise.' What does The Phantom means with 'surprise'?

Oh.

His one month stay at Birmingham has almost come to its end.

The Phantom is coming home.
