I felt like uploading again. Partly because I'M REALLY BORED! Partly because, I was mean and left off with a cliffhanger. But mainly because I got 5 votes super fast! :D And that makes me happy when my vote challenges are fulfilled. Which means I'd be even HAPPIER if the vote challenge was fulfilled for chapter 2 of Buried Treasure. If you haven't checked it out yet, you should if you're interested. It's probably my favorite story to write. Blah blah blah okay, you get it. Here's chapter 6.

 Chapter 6~

(Ainsley's POV)

-Recap-

"You think it's funny to get our quarterback suspended from the team, nerd? Let me show you how funny I think it is!" An angry voice snarled. I closed my eyes and sighed for the millionth time today and squared my shoulders, calmly walking down the steps and pocketing my salad fork. I rounded the corner and quickly took in the situation.

I was already in trouble so what the hell?

Geek was shoved up against the brick building by Landon's best friend Scott Anderson who was practically turning red with anger as he yelled. Two of his burly friends stood by him, legs shoulder-width apart with their arms crossed while they tried to look menacing. If they weren't so serious, I would've erupted into laughter.

I marched up to Scott and tapped him on the back. He turned and gave me an odd look, as if silently asking 'what the hell do you want?'

"Excuse me, Scott, but I don't think I can let you continue this." I said boredly. The barbaric side of me was dying to come out but I kept it tame for now- barely.

"And why do you think that, pipsqueak?" he asked in an obnoxiously high-pitched feminine voice.

"Because I'm not letting you hurt my boyfriend." I kicked him in the back of the knee, satisfied when he stumbled from lack of balance. I walked right up to Geek and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, pulling his face towards me and making it look like we were passionately liplocked.

"Don't do anything." I breathed in his ear. He nodded slightly and I pushed him away and he stumbled back against the wall, gasping as if we really had kissed, his eyes wide. I turned on my heel, looking at our audience.

"What the hell! HE'S your boyfriend?" Scott asked incredulously. I smirked when I detected a hint of jealousy in his voice. Scott had asked me out last semester but, obviously, I declined. For good reason too. Bullies weren't my cup of tea.

"You can't choose who you fall in love with, Scott." I shrugged innocently but prowled towards him, making him subconsciously bump against the wall. I grabbed his shirt and pulled his head down so he looked me in the eye.

"If you ever lay your hands on my boyfriend again, I will see to it that your family jewels are disconnected by the use of a plastic fork." I growled lowly, watching his eyes widen in terror as I pulled my knee up to his area.

"Yeah right, you're a girl. I could easily take you." he scoffed. I clucked my tongue and shoved a palm into his shoulder, twisting his body so that it faced me, and jammed my elbow inbetween his ribs lightly,  my knee up against the back of his knee. I sent a quick thank-you to my old martial arts sensei for teaching me this.

"Oh really? Who's vulnerable now?" I asked and pulled out my plastic salad fork. I held it in front of his face while his face grew horrified.

"You wouldn't." he whispered hoarsely. I shrugged, twirling the fork around in my fingers.

"Make sure that you don't find out." I released him, feeling victorious, and glared at his groupies.

"Same goes for you both. Goodbye." I chirped cheerily and grabbed Geek once again by the collar, dragging him to the front of the stairs. I heard the angry mumbles and curses directed at me and slapped a hand over my mouth to keep from laughing.

Geek unhooked my hand from his collar and rubbed his neck, glaring at me. I tried to glare back... and failed.

 "Oh man!" I gasped.

"Did you see Scott's face? They really think I'd disconnect their manhood with a PLASTIC FORK!" For the second time today, I laughed like a lunatic. Oddly enough, it was also the second time I had erupted into giggles in front of Geek.

"I swear, trouble just seems to have it out for you." Geek commented. I reined in my self control and let out a deep exhale.

"Maybe, my friend. Maybe. But seriously? That's the SECOND time today that you got cornered by the football team! What's wrong with you? It's your first day here! Do you have a death wish?" I bombarded him with questions and he pursed his lips.

"Why would I want to die?" he asked confusedly. I rolled my eyes heavenwards and shook my head.

"Nevermind that. Just... don't get into any more trouble today. I can't always save you." I added, giving him one last look. The bell rang and  I turned around and began to walk away.

"Then don't." Geek shot back. I frowned and faced him again.

"Don't save me again." he clarified. I took a slow, long look at him through narrowed eyes. Shortish dark brown hair that lay limply on his head. Huge, thick, black rimmed glasses. Boring brown eyes that, at the moment, sparked with annoyance.

Wait, annoyance? I just saved this guy's butt!

"I wouldn't need to if YOU weren't a trouble magnet!" I retorted, placing my hands on my hips.

"Oh, blame it on me, huh? I'm new here. The only reason I've gotten in trouble is because of you." he said, giving me a stern look that made me absolutely furious. I could see red. How dare he insinuate that I'M the one that caused all this? Detention, Landon's suspension... okay, that one was me but still! I saved him twice, I think he owed me a bit of gratitude. I even volunteered to help him with detention after school so he wouldn't be alone!

When I regained my focus on our argument, it only took one brief look to tell me Geek had left.

 ~Nathan's POV~

Damn. This acting business was getting crazy hard already! Normally it's easy as pie but this time... this GIRL...

I couldn't help but want to ignite her anger. There was a spark that came to her eyes that nearly killed me whenever she was indignant or furious with me and I loved it. Call me crazy, but for some reason I had the feeling that I had already left an impression with her. Maybe that was the arrogant, sexy-as-hell CIA agent Nate talking, though. Nonetheless, I knew she'd have to talk to me later because we had to share a detention after school.

I grinned to nothing in particular at the thought. Me, Ainsley, alone... Something rammed into my shoulder and I was knocked off balance. I toppled to the ground, my senses automatically turning on hyper-alert.

"Whoops, didn't see you there. Sorry dude." An unfamiliar male's voice said apologetically. I brushed myself off and took the hand that was offered to me.

"Thanks, man." I let my eyes flit over the guy, confused as to why he was in the desolate hallway. The bell had already rung, hadn't it? He was of medium height with a muscular build, with dark brown hair and black eyes.

 "You okay?"

"Yeah, it's cool." I responded without hesitation. The guy looked me over and flicked his gaze to one of the doors down the hall.

"Well, later." he brushed past me and I frowned. That was strange... Or was I just paranoid?

 ~Ainsley's POV~

The nerve! I glowered out the window as Mr. McFarley droned on about the history and importance of the Declaration of Independence. Who really cared? It was established hundreds of years ago, and sure, it shaped America but that didn't mean it was important to know every detail.

Just looking at the guy, you knew he was one of those oddball history buffs. Not to stereotype, but it's true. Mr. McFarley had gelled back gray and white hair that was combed over his bald spot, he was short and round, and the wrinkles in his face told us that he'd been around for some time. He was divorced but had no children, and he never, EVER did anything other than drone. The guy was like a dead-but-living shell of a man.

My phone buzzed in my pocket and I jolted a little, taken by surprise. Who'd text me at... 2:23?

im so bored its not even funny. wht class r u in?

A smile crept onto my face as I saw who the message was from.

KYLE! History, Mr. McFarley is droning on about the Declaration of Independence. Only seven... more... minutes... What class are you in?

I waited patiently for him to text back and slid the keypad open when another vibrate shook my phone.

Eww tht suckssss. wanna hang out after school?

I made a face when I realized I couldn't. Detention with Geek and shopping with Rosemary would take all my time. I could always drag Kyle along with the shopping... he loved shopping.

BRRRRRRZZZT! The bell rang and I sent one last quick text before getting up.

Can't, have detention. Don't you have basketball?

I got up and zoomed out of the room, relieved when he didn't assign homework. He hardly ever did unless he thought it was really, truly important for us to learn. Poor guy. I kind of felt bad for him. All alone with no one to love him, his wife divorcing him, childless... The man only had history to turn to!

u? detention? why am i not surprised...

I laughed and text him back, rolling my eyes.

Oh shut up, you knew the day would come.

I packed my locker with the books and papers I didn't need and stuffed the stuff I did need into my backpack. Time for detention.

I marched to Simon's office, struggling not to get swept away from the trafficking student body.  I rapped on the door and heard his tired, weary voice.

 "Come in."

I opened the door, kind of surprised to see Geek already sitting in a chair. My anger returned and I scowled at him before turning to face Simon and giving him my undivided attention, even though all I really wanted was to make faces at Geek.

"Mr. Peters, Ms Winters, your detention will consist of cleaning the bathrooms on the first and second floors and repainting the fading parking lot lines. All the equipment you need is in the janitor's closet. You will be free to go at five." Simon said sternly, giving us his 'no monkey business' face. I nodded.

 "Can we start now?"

"By all means." Simon nodded and I practically jumped out of my seat and raced down the hall to the janitor closet. I was almost bursting with the want to yell at Geek. I stomped into the small little closet and scanned the box full of utensils and tools, picking out a thick paintbrush. I tossed a rag onto my shoulder and hefted up a bucket of white paint.

 This ought to be interesting.

I'll love you forever if you make me smile (: Today hasn't been a good day for me, really... I got cussed out by some random guy for trying to make conversation! Talk about rude! Has anything like that ever happened to you? Anyway, this chapter is just a filler. Although...
