I have't uploaded for a while... hehe, I apologize. I've been very wrapped up in The Half Angel but recently My Geek of a Fake Boyfriend Works for the CIA has been growing in readers and so, here I am, scrambling to upload. I hope it's a relatively okay chapter. (:

Chapter 5-

 -Nathan's POV-

Not even an hour after arriving, and the girl gets me in trouble. I thought being alone mopping the hallways and cleaning the bathrooms after school would be bad until she volunteered to do it with me.

"All right then. You both are dismissed." Mr. Hargrove sighed. Ainsley and I stood and walked out as I eyed her curiously. Suddenly, she burst out laughing, and it was like a piece of heaven filling my ears.

"Simon's- face-" she bent over, hair tumbling forward. I shrugged in response.

"I guess it WAS pretty funny..."

"Funny? It was HILARIOUS! He's such a tomato!" I chuckled at her cute guffaws. One thing for sure, she was definitely not the ice queen everyone thought she was. The image of her face when she called Landon an asswipe and winked at me popped into my head, and I grinned before remembering to stay in character. This was tougher than I thought. I blinked to adjust my colored contacts and pushed my ridiculously dorky glasses up the bridge of my nose.

"We should get back to class," I squeaked in my phony nerdy voice. Ainsley's laughter stopped and she glared at me.

"Fine, Mr. Straight A's." she grumbled, stalking back to class while I followed closely behind her.

I wondered what detention would be like.

 -Ainsley's POV-

Geek just HAD to ruin the fun, didn't he? I mentally growled in frustration. At least the kid cracked a genuine smile at the situation. I collected my wits and went back to class.

It was somewhat awkward walking in after having my full name yelled over the speakers by the headmaster, but I made sure that it didn't show that I was affected in any way. Soon enough, the bell rang and I was free! Except... it was lunch. And lunch meant...

 The cafeteria.

I scrunched my nose in disgust, annoyance clear in my expression. I hated the cafeteria. Ever since I had filled out and worn nicer clothing, people became... animals. Vicious. Too judgmental.

But that was life in the city at a private school with stuck up snobs.

I collected my books and zipped out of class, taking a breath before continuing to amble leisurely to my locker. I stuffed my homework in my bag and shoved it in, grabbing my phone. I looked up and frowned at the piece of paper stuck to the top of the inside of my locker. I closed my eyes, my heart pounding when I realized what it was.

It was never my strength to turn away and shut off the curious part of me, and I unfolded the paper with dread.

Kitty cat want to come out and play? Your hair looks like fire today- and it's burning me. Let me show you how it burns me.

I shivered in revulsion at the crude drawing and the matchstick attached to the paper, crumpling it up tightly in my fist. Thankfully this one wasn't even near as bad as the others. I slammed the door to my locker and turned, my eyes widening when I saw Rosemary with her eyes red and puffy.

"Ains, h-he dumped m-me!" she sniffled. I sighed and wrapped an arm around my close friend, steering her to the girls room. I dumped my bag on the counter and fished out a wad of tissue, shoving them at her. I grabbed some more and turned on the faucet, soaking them a little before wiping her face.

"Tell me all about it," I cooed. Rosemary had been my friend ever since I had gotten to this school. She was the only one who hadn't changed after my transformation. She took it in stride and never turned into a jealous witch or a lying backstabber, and for that I was thankful.

Rosemary blew her nose loudly into the wad of dry tissues and let me wipe her teary face.

"H-he said he was getting t-tired of p-playing my g-games and that he f-found someone who was the r-real d-deal!" she cried, leaning her forehead into her hands. I gently rubbed her shoulders comfortingly. Rosemary always had the worst relationships. All of them started fantastically but within a month, never more, never less, the guy always dumped her. It broke my heart to see her like this, but it was never surprising anymore. She had too big of a heart and never hesitated to give them a second chance, no matter how many times I warned her that they used her as a doormat.

"He was a jerk to you anyway. Remember how he stood you up just to play that new zombie game, what's-it-called?" I pursed my lips at the memory, reminiscing to three weeks ago when she arrived at my house in the rain, sobbing because Jack had stood her up.

"I know! But I can't help but love him!" I sighed and hugged her as she blubbered against my shoulder. I stood back, holding her at arm's length.

"Then let's show him what he's missing. We'll give you a makeover and he'll come begging, pleading for you to give him another chance and you can squash him like the annoying little ant he is!" I said excitedly, my eyes lighting up at the image flashing in my mind. Rosemary shifted uncomfortably.

"I'm not sure that's the best idea, Ainsley. You know if he came crawling back to me that I'd say yes..." she trailed helplessly. I smiled evilly.

"Just agree to come over around 5:30, okay? I promise it'll work." Rosemary chewed her lip as she pondered over my offer.

"All right..." she sighed tiredly. I full out beamed and lent her my personal make up bag for emergencies. Mom's idea, not mine.

"Do you want me to get you lunch and bring it to you? We can eat it outside on the bleachers if you want." I offered, dumping the used tissues in the black garbage can. Rosemary waved a limp hand.

"I'll be fine, don't worry about me. I should just go finish my essay. It's due next period." she sighed and I hugged her again.

"Okay if he approaches you again at all today, call me or text me." I said firmly, staring into her medium brown eyes. She nodded and I stepped back, hoisting my bag up onto my shoulder. I gave her a smile before walking to the dreaded cafeteria, feeling quite eager to get school and detention over with.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The cafeteria. Place for the hungry, place for the predators to stalk their prey. Obnoxiously loud, too many voices talking at once. PDA galore, it stank of cheap food and grumpy old ladies. I inhaled deeply to clear my mind and got in line. I scoured the food options, settling on a soft taco, lemonade, and a Greek salad.

My thoughts briefly flickered to Rosemary and I stood, wondering if I should grab her a cookie or something to make her feel better, when someone bumped into me.

"Watch it! You totally almost ruined my new Jimmy Choos!"  A nasally voice screeched, causing the air to fill in silence. I rolled my eyes at Christina De LaCortez's dramatic outburst. She was carrying a closed water bottle, for heaven's sake!

"It's a pity I didn't." I gritted out through my teeth, pushing past her in search of a table. I didn't miss the sound of her stomping her foot petulantly, but I did miss the expression on her face.

"You are such a BITCH!" she shrieked. I whipped around, fed up with her theatrics, and slowly walked back to her. She may have been slightly taller, but she wasn't all that intimidating. She was just another cliche- a blonde bimbo cheerleader.

"For your information Christina, I'm only a bitch because it gets dreadfully exhausting dealing with an overly dramatic stuck up rich girl whose daddy buys her everything she wants, whenever she wants because she has him wrapped around her finger. And for your information," I continued, eery silence filling the normally chaotic cafeteria. I was well aware that everyone's eyes were on us.

"I'm only a bitch because I actually have depth, which is something you definitely lack!" I spat, sashaying away from her. The smirk I was containing threatened to explode across my face. Christina stamped her heel again, letting out a strangled outcry of humiliation and rage.

"You just have to be so dramatic!" she shot at me. I rolled my eyes, counting to three. I didn't turn around to face her or else I may have stabbed her to death with the tip of my heel.

"Oh I'M dramatic? Really. That's funny because I distinctly remember you being the one who was squealing like a baby pig that you were going to spill water on your Jimmy Choos. FYI Christina, your water bottle hasn't even been opened yet. Oh and by the way, those shoes are knock-offs." I walked away from her triumphantly, everyone in the cafeteria breaking into whoops and hollers. They all hated Christina with a passion -aside from the jocks- and any chance to see her humiliated was something they'd never miss. Which was strange considering she was the head girl of our school.

Telling off the biggest pain in my butt gave me a wonderful feeling of euphoria.

I left the caf and went outside to sit on the school steps. I replayed my whole day over again and grimaced when I thought of how much trouble I was going to be in with my parents. Hopefully they wouldn't find out about my burst out mischief before I could drag Rosemary to the mall with a makeover. Although, I knew I could always use the Rosemary-got-dumped-and-needs-a-pick-me-up card on my mom and get off the hook-- for a little while.

I ate my lunch quickly and scrambled up, dusting off the back of my jeans. Pretty people didn't have it all, and whoever made that up was a stupid idiot. If that had been true, I wouldn't be eating alone on my high school steps. Shrugging the thought away, I picked up my tray and began to walk inside when I heard someone.

"You think it's funny to get our quarterback suspended from the team, nerd? Let me show you how funny I think it is!" An angry voice snarled. I closed my eyes and sighed for the millionth time today and squared my shoulders, calmly walking down the steps and pocketing my salad fork. I rounded the corner and quickly took in the situation.

I was already in trouble so what the hell?

Make my day, people! I say 5 votes for this chapter and I'll do another one soon. By the way, Rosemary was a completely spontaneous addition. I thought it'd be nice having a female friend for Ainsley, even if she was a bit mousy. You'll soon meet some other characters too, don't worry! Tell me what you think (:
