Raziel's POV

I can't believe I hugged that small human yesterday! It's just that Kai seemed so sad after I got irritated with him.

His excitement was weirdly adorable and I didn't actually mean to upset him. But because of his excitement, his voice came out high pitched and everything he said seemed to come out as one long word which really hurt my ears! So I thought limiting him to one question at a time would make it easier on my ears and easier to decipher what he was saying.

Then he apologized and got really quiet. The whole ride to his house, he didn't say anything at all which was unsettling. Kai usually talks a lot, if I'm judging by the amount of time he spent talking to my star.

When we went inside his house and he told me that I can stay as long as I want even though I upset him, I knew I had to apologize and do something to show my gratitude. So I hugged him. I know how much he likes hugs, he has said it 119 times so far! So I figured that would be enough to get him to forget about my earlier behaviour.

What I didn't expect was how much I enjoyed the hug. I mean he's a human for angels sake!

He had that 'after it rains' smell with a hint of vanilla and I subconsciously buried my face in his hair. When he hugged me for the second time, I barely resisted and hugged him back almost instantly. I couldn't get enough of his compelling smell or his warm body against mine.

Of course in that moment I rationalized it by thinking that a hug was warranted after the day he had.

He asked me about being his boyfriend which I obviously rejected. If only he was an angel but he's human. A super cute human that smells amazing! But still human. Despite my words to Kai though, I wouldn't push him away if he hugs me again. He's too cute for me to resist anyway.

By the angels! He bought me over 100 pieces of clothing! And said it was a thank you for saving his life.

I turn off the shower, which Kai showed me how to use yesterday and get dressed in the clothes he lent me. I silently move towards his bedroom and hear light snores coming from his room. I return to my room, resisting the urge to gawk at him while he sleeps.

My stomach is making those rumbling noises again but I ignore it, opting to stare into the magic box that showed tiny humans. Kai didn't tell me what it was called but he said that I can see movies and series on it and I also don't know what those are.

"Hi Raz, you probably shouldn't sit so close to that," Kai's voice sounds from the bedroom door sometime later.

"Holy heaven! How long have you been standing there?" I exclaim and look over to where Kai is standing.

He has the broadest, brightest smile plastered across his face. His short, pink hair is damp and sticking up at weird angles and he is wearing the fluffiest purple sweater I have ever seen. I smile at how adorable he looks and his already broad smile widens.

"About five minutes," Kai giggles. "I knocked but you didn't answer so I opened the door. Are you hungry?"

I had completely forgotten that my stomach was making noises! Wow this magic box really is magic! And addictive! "Are we having burgers and fries?" I asked excitedly. Those were really yummy yesterday! "And the strawberry milkshake! That's the most important one!"

Kai giggles and shakes his head exiting the room. I turn off the magic box and follow Kai into the kitchen.

"We are going to have pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon for our Saturday breakfast," Kai says, taking some ingredients out of the fridge. "We can eat some lychees and strawberries while we prepare."

He hands me the stuff that he referred to as lychees and strawberries before digging around again in the fridge. I pick up a lychee, looking at it curiously before popping it into my mouth.

"Raz, no! Spit that out!" Kai's shouts moving to stand in front of me and holding out his hand for the lychee I just put in my mouth.

I hesitate, considering if I should just chew it and swallow quickly before he steals my food. "Razzy!" Kai whines and I sigh, relinquishing my lychee to him.

"You have to remove the outer layer first so you can get to the yummy fruit inside," Kai giggles as he explains. He peels the lychee then gives me the now white fruit and I pop it into my mouth. I smile as the juices from the fruit fill my mouth and Kai grins at me. "Do you not have fruits in heaven? Spit out the seed."

"There is no need. Angels do not need to eat so food is unnecessary, but we do have a golden fruit that tastes like whatever we want it to, though I have never tried it. Since I never tasted human food, there was nothing to wish for the golden fruit to taste like," I reply, spitting out the seed and repeating the actions Kai did to remove the outer layer of another lychee.

Kai cocks his head to the side, his sky blue eyes looking at me quizzically. "But you get hungry?"

"Yes, but I also said that I was a fallen angel. I'm not visiting earth. I was banished from heaven and am being forced to live on earth and fallen angels need to eat and sleep."

"Fallen angel?" His eyebrows furrow and I scoff. This kid! I remember literally everything he's ever said to me and he forgets the one thing I told him about myself!

Realization eventually dawns on his face. "Oh you said you didn't have your wings!" I roll my eyes. Eternal paradise! It took him long enough! I scowl at him. "In my defence I almost died yesterday and I met my pink star, it was overwhelming!" he whines pouting at me.

I am momentarily distracted by his pink, plump, highly kissable lips before I scold myself and drill the fact that he's a human into my head. "Ok human, you are forgiven," I say barely remembering to respond to his statement.

He grins widely at me then reaches out his arms as if to hug me but drops them and turns away instead. What is this feeling? Disappointment? I scoff. No it can't be.

"Why were you banished anyway?" Kai inquires, mixing some white gooey stuff in a bowl. I ponder his question for a moment. I can't very well tell him that his voice scared me so I accidently killed 1,023 people. But I obviously won't lie to him.

He turns to face me after I don't respond. "You're not going to tell me?" The hurt was evident in his voice but somehow I think it would be worse if I told him what happened so I just stay silent. "Fine, don't tell me," he mutters, now angrily mixing the white goo. Is he going to make me eat that? It does not look very good.

I move to stand behind him and embrace him in a back hug hoping to distract him and stop him from asking any more questions on my banishment. When he giggles and his angry mixing returns to regular mixing, I know I have succeeded.

I sigh and tilt my nose into his still damp hair breathing in his addictive scent. Why does he fit so perfectly in my arms?

Human, human Raziel! My brain scolds.

"As much as I love this, I need to fry this," Kai says through giggles. He turns in my arms to stare into my eyes. "Rain check?"

I frown, releasing him and looking over his head to see outside. "No it's not raining," I reply. Why would he ask me to check to see if it's raining?

Kai giggles and drops his head into my chest. "No Razzy, I meant do I get another hug later." He lifts his head, peering into my eyes.

His eyes captivate me, so full of hope and innocence. How can I say no when he's looking at me like I'm his whole world? I find myself nodding in response. He squeals and wraps his arms around my waist but before I can hug him back he releases me.

"That doesn't count! That wasn't my hug! I still get one later!" Kai squeals hurriedly.

I cover my ears and roll my eyes with a smirk on my lips.

"Is Raziel too difficult for you to pronounce?" He keeps calling me Raz or Razzy. I didn't think my name would be hard for a human to pronounce.

"No Raziel," Kai says, rolling his eyes. "I just wanted to give you cute nicknames."

He sticks his tongue out at me and I scowl causing him to giggle. I watch as he fries the white goo and they turn into golden brown fluffy ovals! Pancakes, he calls them. Now that looks yummy!

I continue to eat the fruits as he scrambles the eggs and fries the bacon. He puts everything onto plates and I devour all of the yummy food! Kai, of course, bombards me with questions about heaven and my life there. This time, he gives me just enough time to answer one question before promptly moving on to the next.

I thought it would have been tedious but it was actually really fun to talk to him.

What did you think of the chapter? And their first morning together?  And Kai's nicknames for Raziel?
