Raziel's POV

I feel around in the bed trying to find Kai. My eyes flash open when I don't feel him near me. Now that I'm no longer trying to resist him, I am all for snuggles, hugs and lots of kisses. He's mine and I need to make sure he knows it. But where is he?

I frown and open his bedroom door but smile when I hear him singing. I follow his voice to the kitchen and chuckle when I find him standing in front of the sink doing the cutest dance while he washes the dishes.

I watch him for a few more seconds before I walk up to him and wrap my arms around his waist. He jumps and shrieks before relaxing into my arms. I bend down to kiss Kai's cheek before burying my nose in his neck breathing in his tantalizing smell.

He giggles and turns around after finishing up the dishes and drying his hands. I am taken aback by his positively radiant smile and after ogling at him for a few seconds I return his smile. He reaches up and links his arms around my neck. "Good morning angel," he whispers before getting up on his tip toes and pressing a chaste kiss to my lips.

He wriggles out of my embrace, drags me to the table and sets a heaping pile of food in front of me. "Eat," he orders and crosses his arms.

I scowl at him. I still don't like taking orders from humans even though this human is now my mate. Well technically not fully my mate till the bond is complete but I'll just think of him as my mate. I almost smile at that but I don't want him to think he can order me around so I suppress it.

Indulging Kai, I pick up the fork and start eating. I moan as the yummy food slides down my throat and Kai smiles in response and starts to eat his food.

"Raziel, we need to talk," Kai says sternly after a few minutes.

Uh oh! When people on the magic box said this humans stopped dating.

"First of all don't stand outside in the freezing cold like that ever again! I almost had a heart attack seeing you like that. No matter what arguments we get into in the future, don't ever neglect your wellbeing," his voice is still stern and commanding but what he requested isn't too difficult so I nod.

"And don't date me if you're going to do it out of pity. Yes, I would love to be your boyfriend but I don't want you to date me if you're doing it because you think I'm lonely and feel sorry for me," he says much quieter and avoids eye contact.

"Is that why you got mad at me yesterday?" I thought it was because I didn't kiss him or because my dislike for his race was present in my voice. I've never pitied him. Even the first time I hugged him I didn't do it out of pity but as an apology for hurting his feelings.

I'm an idiot, I can't believe I made him feel that way! I want him and I think deep down I knew that as soon as I met him. I just didn't want the risk involved with dating a human but I realize now that I don't mind the risks if it's Kai.

The faintest pink tinge appears on his cheeks. For such a pale human he really doesn't blush much. "Yeah, wasn't that the reason you hugged me and let me snuggle with you and intertwine our fingers?" he mumbles, stuffing some food into his mouth.

"That's not the reason. I never pitied you. I let you do those things because I wanted you to. I already told you that you were intriguing." I pause not sure how much I should tell him about the bond and how much that kiss actually meant and changed for me.

I decide to hold off on telling him since he's unaffected by the bond until we complete it and while I already know most of his life story, he's only known me for two days. It's only fair to give him some time to change his mind without being influenced by how it will affect me. And I'm not sure if he actually likes me or if it's just a matter of availability.

"I want to be your boyfriend," I finish and Kai squeals and rushes over to me, squeezing me into a hug.

He releases me and frowns. "But you dislike humans?"

I pull him onto my lap and plant a kiss on his temple. "I do, but I'll make you the exception."

He nods but still has a frown on his face. I reach up and caress between his eyebrows with my thumb causing Kai to giggle. I smile and return my hand to his waist.

"What are you going to do today, Raziel?" Kai says, stroking my cheek absentmindedly.

"Why am I Raziel? Are you still mad at me?" I question with a pout.

Kai giggles and pokes my pouting lips trying to flatten them, though I would prefer he flatten them with a kiss. "I don't know. What school do you go to?" I respond to his question.

"Agma High. Are you coming to school with me!" Kai shrieks, a huge smile on his face which makes me smile in return.

I wasn't planning to but now I am. He looks so excited and on hearing the name of the school I need to see if my suspicions are right about his school. I nod and he squeals and claps his hands excitedly.

We finish breakfast and while I am getting dressed I spot the Kai tattoo on my left peck. It marks the start of the bond and appeared after I kissed Kai last night.

I press my hand over the tattoo and hear Kai humming then I move my hand away and his voice disappears. I smile because now that I can no longer hear Kai's voice above the other voices in my head, with the help of the tattoo, I can occasionally check in on him, irrespective of how far away we are from each other.

The tattoo also lets me feel a fraction of Kai's emotions so I will know if he is in any distress. Much like my wings it can take me to Kai in an instant except that instead of flapping my wings I just put my hand over the tattoo and think of Kai.

I pull a fluffy, white sweater over my head and grab one of the many jackets Kai bought me.

Kai monologues animatedly about his classes the entire drive to school and I just enjoy listening to his voice, chiming in occasionally with questions.

"Kaaaaaaaiiiiii!" A short, almost orange haired girl yells as soon we get out of the car. She rushes over to give Kai a hug and I quickly mask the scowl on my face when the girl looks over. "Ooh he's hot! Is this Raziel?"

How does this pesky human know my name! I glare at her. "Yes! Raz, this is Milan. She's new to town and I met her on Friday through volunteering," Kai replies, wrapping his arms around my waist.

I glance down to see him grinning at me and I can't help but smile back and envelop him in a tight hug; his giggles getting muffled against my chest.

I sniff the air and release Kai. Interesting. "Kai, I'll see you later."

Kai pouts at me and I peck his lips before walking towards the smell; the ripe sulphuric smell that wafts the air.

"Excuse me, you can't go-" some annoying human tries to stop me as I enter the office that has the word Principal Ryu on the door.

"Demon," I grunt after I close the door to the office.

A tall Korean man that looks like he's in his mid thirties with flawless skin, thick eyebrows and a sharp jawline glowers at me. "Take another step and I'll kill you."

His face starts to morph giving way to his true demonic form. Almost tangible, black smoke seeping from the cracks in his human face; the blackness of his pupils spreading to the white in his eyes, swallowing them until they become fully black and glossy. Sharp, long fangs emerge, hanging over his now black, disease ridden looking lips.

I roll my eyes at him and walk over to the chair in front of his desk.

"What's a demon doing running a high school? Is this edible?" I ask picking up a packet that says peanuts from off of his desk. I mimic the actions I've seen the tiny humans on the magic box do to open it. Looking at the tiny oval curiously I pop it in my mouth.

"What's an angel doing in a high school?" The demon snorts, reverting back to his human form. He moves to sit behind his desk, staring at me with fear but interest.

I glare at him and respond through gritted teeth, "I asked first, demon."

His black eyes peer at me wearily. "High school is a hell on earth and it's fun to watch the humans torture each other," he drawls.

"Got a name?" I ask, pouring the rest of the peanuts in my mouth.

"What is this? Are you going to send me back to hell?" The demon asks almost frantically.

I roll my eyes and shrug. "Without my wings, banishing a higher demon such as yourself, on my own is more effort than it's worth."

"So why are you here?" The demon questions, eyebrows furrowing together.

Why am I here? I wanted to meet the demon behind the smell to make sure that no harm would come to Kai. This demon seems very powerful but surprisingly tame and as of right now he won't be a threat. I also wouldn't mind spending time with Kai at school and the easiest way to do that is by becoming a measly student.

"Make me a student at your school," I reply and put the empty wrapper in front of him. I don't really know what else to do with it now that it's empty.

The demon lets out a dry laugh and raises an eyebrow at me. "You look a bit old to be a high school student."

"But all the high school students on the magic box look as old as I do." I reply with a frown.

"The magic box." The demon's sinister laugh bounces off the walls of the room. "How long have you been on earth?"

I glare at him, my body giving off a slight pink glow; not the most threatening colour but the sheer power radiating from me should be enough to scare him. "Make me a student."

"Okay, okay! Don't get your panties in a bunch," the demon replies with a nervous laugh.

I frown at his statement, not understanding what he means so I decide to introduce myself instead. "I'm Raziel."

"Zorander. Wait Raziel! The ruthless warrior, known prankster, Raziel! How did you get kicked out of heaven?"

"I see my reputation precedes me. Now make me a student." I smirk as I see the higher demon gulp.

We are finally getting to the main plot of the story and I'm so excited!
