So without further ado, the chapter-

Raven came closer, and pulled me down harshly.

"I don't know if he's ever mentioned the name, but Aaron used to have a girlfriend called Avalon." She began and I listened in at the odd prospect of Aaron being in a committed relationship.

"He was so different before when he was with her. He loved her so much and I think she brought out the best in him. One day, there was this party at Danny's house. Aaron was with his us all and Avalon was with some other friends. Maybe if she was with him, she wouldn't have done what she did." She said

"What did she do?" I questioned, wanting to hear the answer.

Raven sighed and moved closer.
"Aaron caught her sleeping with a guy. She blamed it on being drunk, but it broke him. He loved her so much and when he saw them together, you should've seen him Alexis. It was horrible."

"What did he do?"

She stared out the window a little while longer before turning back to me.

"He broke up with her and beat the guy up. Turns out, the guy wasn't drunk, so he knew he was sleeping with Aaron's girlfriend"

"Then?" I asked, shocked. Raven sat back a little, more relaxed with me.

"The girl transferred schools out of sadness and the boy left the school, afraid he'd get beaten up by Aaron again. After that, Aaron stopped believing in love. He just had a relationship for sex and didn't try to form a bond with the girls."

Aaron's POV when he catches Avalon cheating on him- Part 2

"I need to tell you something." Justin said and Aaron nodded before urging him to continue to which Justin opened his mouth to speak.

"Aaron!"

They both turned as Mason walked over, a look of concern on his face.

"Have you seen Avalon anywhere? Raven said she stepped out 15 minutes ago to answer a phone call, but she's nowhere to be found now." He spoke and Aaron felt the dread fill him.

"Have you asked everyone or called her phone?!" He asked hurriedly as he moved past Justin and Mason trailed behind him as they looked around.

"I called like 100 times, but it keeps going to voicemail." He answered and Aaron felt himself tense. Right now, Justin would have to wait for the present urgent matter to be resolved.

Aaron could only hope that Avalon was safe and then he'd be happy, it was his only thought and he turned when he saw the familiar black hair and green eyes.

"Did you actually see her step out to take the call?" The urgency in Aaron's voice was evident and Raven shook her head in panic, holding her phone up to her ear.

"No, she just told me when we were dancing together. I didn't think to go after her." She answered almost apologetically, but Aaron didn't blame her. It wasn't her fault; it was his. It was his duty to keep her safe and he had failed that. He had been the one who had picked her up from her Dad's house and told him he'd bring her back before curfew. What would he say to him now? How would he face him?

"Use Find My iPhone."

They turned as Justin walked over, his grey eyes blank and Aaron had yet to question this oddity. He would have been the first to look around for her; the first to be concerned, but he wasn't. Instead, he was stood with his same unwavering, cold gaze that- for once- Aaron could not understand. Still, his idea was a good one and Aaron turned around in relief to Raven who pulled her phone away from her ear with a vigorous nod.

"Why didn't I think of that?" She absconded herself through muttered breaths as she clicked away at the phone. All the while, Aaron continued to snap his gaze around to see her familiar form. It didn't help that, last work, there had been news of a girl being assaulted at a party by a crasher from another school. It didn't help at all.

"You're taking this better than I thought you would." Mason spoke to Justin with a relieved sigh to which Justin only nodded, the dark circles under his eyes only making the grey of his gaze that much more vivid.

"Because I know her best, unfortunately." Was all he said and Aaron frowned, opening his mouth to enquire the meaning, but Raven spoke before he could.

"It says she's.... here? She's in the house." Raven muttered in confusion and- sure enough- when she showed the screen, it displayed just that.

"What?" Aaron whispered in confusion, staring at the screen.

"That's a good thing, right?! Let's scour around and look for her then!" Mason spoke enthusiastically and Raven nodded, nudging Aaron's arm.

"Don't worry, let's just find her and give her a massive telling off for scaring you like this." She teased and Aaron couldn't help but smile, his lips quirking up at the thought.

"You're fucking insane if you think I'll let you say even one bad thing to her." Was all he said and then they were weaving through the crowds. There were points when blonde hair would catch their eyes only to find that it belonged to another. Even with the entire upstairs, the whole place had been devoid of her and Aaron let out a heavy sigh.

"Where else could she be? We've checked everywhere." He relented and it was true. Raven had even walked into the bathroom where a girl had been passed out on the toilet just to check inside the bathtub and any other crevice. They had truly searched everywhere.

Well, not everywhere.

"What about the basement?" Aaron spoke more to himself than anyone else. It hadn't been an option first; Avalon generally hated dark places and Danny's basement had the dimmest bulb. It wasn't like her so much so that it worried him; was she okay? Raven seemed to sense his sadness and placed a hand against his arm, giving him a comforting smile.

"Don't worry, she's fine, okay. And, that goes for you too, Justin." She soothed, her eyes glancing to Justin during the latter half of her sentence. If he wasn't too worried about Avalon right now, Aaron would have probably noticed the tenderness in her eyes as she looked at Justin; her tentative gaze as though she too had noticed his recent reclusive behaviour.

"Let's go." Mason spoke, leading the way and they all followed. Over the garble of music, the faint sound of Danny cheering 'chug' could be heard, but none spoke of it as they opened the door, descending down the dark stairs. None spoke in that moment as they shuffled down and Aaron felt a ray of hope as he saw the dingy bulb turned on; perhaps, she had come down here for a peace of mind. After all, this was Danny's 'man-cave' where he would often game; watch movies and even invite girls over to. It wasn't a drab, undone basement by any means. That ray of hope stunted to a halt when Mason- who was walking ahead of him- stopped rigidly and Aaron frowned as Mason turned. He didn't say anything then, but there was something in his expression that Aaron didn't like and he frowned, feeling the fear fill him.

"What is it?" He spoke unsurely, descending down the final step until he was in the clearing of the basement. It took a moment for his eyes to adjust to see in the darkness but these were one of the times where he wished his eyes hadn't adjusted at all. For, when he saw it, his entire world came out from beneath him.

Avalon- naked and sleeping comfortably and very snugly in the arms of another man.

There were very few moments where he had been too stunned for words, but this was beyond that. This was a moment unlike any other, he could feel it. He could feel the ache that resonated through his entire being, swallowing all that made him function. He could feel his heart shrivel into itself until it felt too difficult to even breathe; his thoughts collapsed into each other until it was just a monotonous loud ring inside his head: a dull ring that numbed his senses, leaving him as nothing but a heavy vessel of limbs. It was just hours ago when she had gotten ready in the mirror of his house and he had held her from behind, smiling at how lucky he was. He had thought she had felt equally elated; she had acted as though she did. Yet, now, she was smiling more so than she had then and he briefly wondered if the whole relationship had been but a figment of his imagination; a delusion of hope in an otherwise bleak world.

It was all too much to bear so much so that he couldn't even move a muscle. He could feel Mason's tepid eyes on him and the feel of his hand trying to pull him away from the sight, but he wouldn't budge. He could hear Raven gasp as she finally descended behind him, the sound sharp across the hollow walls. He could feel Justin finally near from behind, but no words were spoken then and a long stretch of silence past as they started. Perhaps, itchy knew that- in this silence- there resided the last bit of happiness they would know. Yes, they knew that they would have to eventually wake her and confront her for her actions but, in the duration in which they just looked to her, they processed the fact that nothing will ever be the same for these set of friends. They would not be able to have the same relationship they once had: While Aaron mourned the loss of a lover; Justin mourned his best friend and Raven mourned her closest girl companion. She had forged a memory in each of their lives, so each stood in front of her with their own sense of betrayal, too fearful to change the tides by waking her up. It was Mason who took the first step into their new lives, looking to them tepidly.

"Guys.. what do we do?" His voice was unsure, concerned for the others present; he hadn't been as close to her, but he had valued her as someone in the group: someone who made his girlfriend and best friends very happy. She had been the centre of that, like the group's sun in which leaving had cast a large shadow across them. Mason realised he did not like her one bit.

"What else? Wake the bitch up." Raven ground out, the anger filling her. While it was sadness that filled Aaron, it was something entirely different for Raven. Yes, she had felt sadness in the first instance, but that was soon replaced as soon as she saw  the smile on Avalon's face. She hadn't cared for them and nor did Raven care for those who screwed her and her friends over. She had no qualms with cutting people out of her life if they had called it on themselves. Besides, Aaron was her best friend; he had made her life lighter when things had gotten heavy and was one she could confide in with hidden topics. It made her blood heat to think that she had heart someone that always put so much effort in making others laugh with his playful nature. And, Justin, he was her.... Well, she didn't know what he was to her, but he was special. He was always a stone that held the group intact and provided logic to the tumultuous fights that often took place amongst the others. The idea of her even causing such a stone to falter made a white hot anger beseech her and she couldn't help it as she moved forward, raising her hands to give a loud clap.

"Rise and shine!" Her voice was scornful, angry and it was then that Avalon began to stir awake, the smile leaving her face as soon as she saw the sight before her. It was when her soft green eyes met Aaron that his entire world crumbled again. He had stupidly persuaded himself that it wasn't real; that she wouldn't do that to him, but when he looked into her eyes he knew otherwise. He knew that nothing was a dream and that nothing would ever be the same again.

"Aaron." Her voice was a scared whisper as she sat up rigidly, using the covers to hide her form as though he hadn't seen her all before. It had only been yesterday where she had sat on his lap, naked, as they watched a movie together. She had felt comfortable then. His body stiffened as her wide eyes turned to look behind him and her lip quivered slightly.

"Justin..." She whispered this too, the sobs evident in her tone and it was only then that Aaron turned his gaze back to where Justin was stood. He had thought that Justin too would be staring at Avalon but, instead, he was staring at Aaron, eyes grief-stricken and containing something more that Aaron could not describe. It was the most heavy emotion that Aaron had ever seen from him yet it was directed towards him and Aaron wondered why.

The shuffling made him turn as he looked to how Avalon had slid her dress back on, with ease, under the covers. A dress that he had picked out for her; he felt pathetic and he couldn't help it as he shook his head, a tightness forming in his throat.

"No..." Were all the words that he could manage as though he was refusing his eyes; refusing reality; refusing everything that was to come.

"Please, if you just... just give me a chance to explain." Avalon answered, moving so she was now stood up and he couldn't bear it: the feel of her heat and the smell of her perfume, it was all too much and he staggered back slightly, shaking his head yet again.

"Why?" His words were more firm now and Avalon tensed at this, the tears running down in streams as she tried nearing him again.

"I didn't know what I was doing; I was drunk and I just did!" She wailed loudly, arms flailing as though she was trying to reach out to him and Raven huffed, a look of hatred on her face.

"Oh stop with all the excuses! We barely drank even a glass together before we danced!" Raven screamed back, unable to contain herself and Mason placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Hey, it's okay, calm down." He said, but he wasn't saying it for Avalon's sake. No, he only glared at her. The reason he did it was to allow her to let Aaron speak. Whilst they all felt upset, this was her betrayal against Aaron and their relationship. He would have to conclude this matter and no one else. Raven only tutted, shoving off Mason's hand and edging closer to a sobbing Avalon.

"How am I going to calm down if she doesn't even have the decency to be honest with this guy who has given her everything?! You hurt Aaron for this; you hurt Justin for this!" She screamed once again and, this time, it was Justin who leaned forward, gripping her wrist in his cold hold.

"Stop, Raven." Was all he said and her body sagged at this as she realised why, gripping in fear to the hand on his wrist. Mason only watched as she nodded in acceptance, moving away from Avalon and back behind Aaron to allow him to speak. All the while, her hand still gripped his, despite the fact that he had released her wrist.

"I had other drinks when I came back from answering that phone call, Raven, and I don't remember anything after that." Avalon cried out, her eyes imploring and body shaking. It was taking all of Aaron to not scoop her back into his arms to make the tears go away. Instead, he stood there numb, nodding softly.

"Show me." He spoke, his voice but a broken whisper and she frowned through the tears.

"What?" She questioned in confusion and he extended his hand out then, eyes scanning her face as though he was trying to read her soul; trying to catch onto anything he once found familiar.

"The call you had to take, it would be on your call log. Show me who it is." He spoke, a sense of hope in him that prayed that it was just her Dad reminding her of her curfew or her step-siblings asking for her charger again. Anything, but what he thought it would be: a text from the man beside her calling out to her for this. A moment of silence passed as Avalon stood looking to him, mouth open and tears still streaming.

"I- I don't remember where my phone is after I drank." She whispered, lips pursing in grief as she looked around. She has brought it in a little handbag that had matched her dress, but that was nowhere to be seen right now and Aaron felt his thoughts conflict all the more. It was possible she was telling the truth; Find my iPhone didn't tell of her exact location, so her phone could still be in the house. But, that still didn't change anything else. Nothing at all.

"Please, Aaron. Baby, please just believe me, I'm not lying." Avalon edged forward, shaky hands clasped together and Aaron felt his heartstrings tug as he staggered back again.

"I can't do this." Was all he said but even he didn't know what that meant. To Avalon, it must have sounded like a break-up statement because then she let out a loud cry, covering her face with her hands.

It was the only noise needed for the boy beside her to stir and then he too was waking up, brushing a hand through his curls with a yawn.

"Doesn't he... go to our school?" Mason whispered to Justin beside him and it was all Aaron needed for his blood to run cold. The boy's body tensed as he saw the three new onlookers as he sat up, frantic eyes flitting between Avalon and the rest of them. Aaron didn't know who he was nor did he care to but at that moment when their eyes met, he saw something far beyond what could be seen.

He looked to the debaucherous male and it reminded him of his Father.

It reminded him of that moment they had gone to surprise him and had seen him in this exact same position: eyes wide and body tense. At that time, he had been a child who had just watched as his mother had sunk to her knees, crying. He was unable to shoulder his mother's sadness but, now, he was very much grown, And, all he could see was another shameless man that ruined more lives. He could never find happiness and it was people like him that were the culprit. It darkened him more to think that he had shared these very troubles with Avalon who had seemed supportive at the time yet, little had he known, that she would do the same thing.

It was with thoughts of his crying mother, arrogant father and a once-supportive Avalon that sent the hot, white ice of rage running down his veins and he couldn't help but feel the bitterness in him quell at the hypocrisy. Something inside him had snapped and he didn't feel like his playful self anymore. No, what was left was an angry shell of his former self, one that didn't discern desire from reason and- right now- he desired blood.

"Aaron..." Justin's tone held a warning to it as if he knew what was to happen, but Aaron was too far gone as he moved forward, making the boy look to him tepidly as he scrambled to get up. He would only fail as Aaron reached, blue eyes dark with hatred.

"You're dead." Was all he bit out, voice uncharacteristically hoarse as he pulled his hand back.

And, Avalon screamed as fist hit flesh and blood hit mattress.
