"Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world."

Lucille Ball

Third Person's P.O.V.

Intense brown eyes stared back onto Diana's golden-brown eyes causing her to take a step back as she could feel immense power coming from the mysterious man before her. The man growled loudly that even the earth started to shake. Diana stopped moving in fear she might be killed. She knew that this person had to be a dragon because no other werewolf but the Alpha King could make the earth shake with just a growl. However, this growl seemed more powerful, but also was holding back it's true power.

Diana bowed her head showing submission. "I'm sorry for walking around without permission. I just needed some fresh air." She said softly looking down at the ground as if it was the only thing interesting.

Diana's wolf Bell kept shouting in her head the word "MATE" over and over again.

"Look at me." The man said.

Diana looked back up not wanting to have him use his royal command on her. Her eyes landing back onto his as she could feel pull inside her. The man took a step forward into the light where the moon shined brightly. At that one moment, everything stopped. The overpowering smell of mint and chocolate filled Diana's nose making her shiver in delight. This man was her mate and also a dragon. Having a better look at him she could see that he was about 6'5 feet tall with midnight black hair. Broad shoulders and chest that looked so good in his tux. He had a strong jawline with beautiful full lips. Everything about him just screamed sex appeal.

The man noticed Diana checking him out which lead him to smirk causing Diana to blush and look back down.

"Don't look down my little rose. I want to still look at your beautiful face." He said moving closer to Diana placing his index finger under her chin lifting her head up gently. "After all you are my mate."

His voice was husky making Diana shiver once more. The man smirked more loving the reaction he was getting out of her.

"S-so my mate is a dragon. Does that mean you work under that dragon king? I mean, of course, you do! Why would I ask a stupid question like that?"

The man just pulled Diana into his embrace as his strong arms held her close to his body with him inhaling her sweet scent. Not knowing what to do in this situation, Diana wrapped her arms around his neck slowly enjoying the comfort and the feeling of safety in his arms. At this time all the words her pack and sister would say just washed away because at this moment her mate wasn't rejecting her nor was, he disgusted. The moment shared was quickly ruined when the bells started to ring out indicating that the dragon king was now about to show up.

Diana quickly pulled away from her mates embrace."I'm sorry! But I have to go now. I was told that every female must be present to meet the dragon king even if I already found my mate."

"It's all right my little rose. Go. I will see you inside shortly." He said before leaving Diana alone.

Diana smiled happy that she now found her mate but was sad that she had to leave him because of the king. She sighed making her way back to the ballroom where all the girls were at. Not caring for what the dragon king looked like all she could think of was her handsome mate. She started to wonder where he could have gone to.

"I wonder where our mate had to go to Bell."

"Don't worry Diana, you will see him again. Trust me." was all Bell said before getting quiet. Diana felt that Bell was hiding something from her but decided not to press on it.

"Everyone, may I have your attention please." The butler said gaining everyone's attention. "The dragon king is now ready to meet with you ladies and see if one of you is his mate and our future queen."

All the girls started getting more and more excited thinking if they are going to be the dragon kings' mate. Diana wanted nothing more than to leave for she knew she wasn't his mate. Thinking it be best to just leave again and look for her mate the overpowering scent of mint and chocolate filled her nose making her turn back around. Looking ahead the dragon king made his appearance and all the girls screamed at how sexy he looked. But to Diana, all she could do was stare at the king wide eye.

"Thank you all for making it to the ball. I am Adrian Valentine, king of the dragons. I know why you ladies are here, but I'm sorry to inform you all that I have already found my mate and the dragon races future queen."

All the girls started to whisper asking who the girl is till Amora stepped up.

"Is it me my king?" She said batting her fake eyelashes as him causing Adrian to cringe in disgust.

"No. It's not you." He said walking past Amora not giving her a second look. Adrian stopped in front of Diana pulling her close to him with his arm wrapped around her waist. "I never did get your name my little rose."

Diana could not believe that the man whom she met not too long ago who happened to be her mate was the dragon king himself!

"Well, my little rose. What is your name?" Adrian asked again.

"I-it's Diana Winter."

"Diana? What a beautiful name."

Diana blushed.

"T-thanks."

The room started to fill up with many other dragons wanting to see whom their future queen looked like.

"Everyone please meet your future dragon queen Diana Winter!"

The whole ballroom erupted into applause cheering happily all excepted for Diana's sister Amora.

"How can she be your mate! This has to be some kind of mistake!" Amora shouted in fury. This caused many of Adrian's royal pack to let out a deathly growl making Amora shake with fear. Diana noticed that Adrian was getting upset so she placed her hand on his back rubbing it gently to calm him down. She had seen her mother do the same to her father whenever he was upset. Instantly Adrian calmed down before speaking up.

"How dare you question me. There is no mistake that Diana is my mate. If you value your life, I suggest that you hold your tongue mutt."

"She can't be your queen! It's not fair!" Amora kept saying. "My sister is not fit to be the queen but for me!"

At this moment all hell broke loose. Amora was suddenly grabbed by the neck by Adrian. His eyes were shining gold indicating that his dragon has taken over.

"I guess you don't value your life after all," he said coldly as his grip on her neck tighten more making Amora gasp out in pain. Even though Amora was a selfish sister Diana didn't want to lose her. Right now, she was scared at how scary her mate was but she had to save her sister. Mustering up all the courage she ran up to Adrian hugging him from behind with tears already forming.

"Please let her go! Don't kill my sister please!"

Hearing her soft please for him to stop Adrian was able to take back control and let Amora go by dropping her onto the floor. He turned around holding Diana closely to breathe in her scent to calm down. He soon pulled away looking into her tearful eyes making him sadden that he had caused his mate to cry.

"I'm sorry for scaring you my little rose."

Diana shook her head. "It's okay. I'm sorry for my sister. She's always been like that."

Seeing as how everyone had their eyes on them Adrian looked at his Owen. Owen nodded his head in understanding what Adrian wants.

"This ball is now over. Please leave now." Owen announced. This made many of the other girl's wine while they started leaving. One of Amora's friends helped Amora up leading her away and leaving Diana and Adrian alone.

"Well, this is a night to remember," Diana said.

Adrian chuckled lightly making her blush. "Come my little rose. You must be tired. Let us rest." It was all Adrian said before picking Diana up a bridal style leading her up to his room that was now theirs.
