"Demons originally were a cross between humans and angels," Jimin gestured to the first painting before us.

It showed angels descending to an ancient home on Earth where several women dressed in just skimpy bath towels resided.

"But before angels realized the concept of protected sex, wallah, these offspring between Divine beings and mortals began popping out all over the place."

The next painting showed a woman in bed holding a baby in her arms with the silhouette of an angel hovering above her. Tendrils of both light and shadows wrapped around the baby.

"The very existence of these babies were against laws of, well, basically everything mortal and divine. They could not be killed by mortals and were untouchable by angels because of the mortality within the offspring."

Next painting showed a shattered sword next to a young, beautiful boy with bright mint hair who was also wearing nothing but a skimpy bath towel that just managed to cover most of his junk.

"The offspring gradually grew up, and developed powers. Nothing close to the divinity of angels, but enough to cause a mess."

The young boy from the previous photo was now painted amidst the destruction of a house.

"Soon, there were too many of these offspring, and both humans and angels alike began to grow fearful of these seemingly indestructible hybrids."

The young boy was now a young teenager, a scowl depicted on his face as he stood before cowering children his age.

"Finally, the angels decided it was just too much to keep these hybrids in the world of man. And of course they weren't going to let these kids come into heaven or anything. But neither could they be sent to hell since that is the land of the dead and these kids were obviously not dead."

Jimin's soft voice seemed to only add to the effect of the story as we slowly walked along the wall filled with paintings depicting all the stories that molded into the one big story.

"So the Twelve Archangels, the most powerful angels of them all, decided to come together and unite all their powers to create an entirely different dimension to exile these hybrids to."

Twelve angels stood in a circle, holding hands and almost swallowed up in white, gold, and silver lights.

"That's how Itzborough was created. An entirely different dimension from Earth."

A painting of dozens of small figures being sucked up into a dark hole leading to an entirely different dimension captured this part of the story.

"Itzborough size is unknown. However, we do know Itzborough is divided into 12 main regions. The hybrids, now known commonly as demons if you hadn't figured that out by now, at first were malevolent and bitter upon their sudden separation of Earth. This might explain some of that whole 'bloody, ruthless creatures' you told us about."

The young teenager with the skimpy bath towel was now almost a young man, and one of the many figures with features twisted in pain and fury, looking up at the sky.

"But eventually, demons began to settle Itzborough, rise cities up like how humans had, and begin living life. We slowly began to learn more about ourselves and how to control our powers."

Jimin glanced down at his hand I held my breath as the smallest puff of blue smoke sparked in his palm before quickly vanishing.

The dim light as well as the brief flash of blue to illuminate his face made him almost like a mysterious spirit; before me but out of reach.

"The Mad King's War is the only large-scale war that occurred ever in demon history," Jimin lead me to an entirely different section of the wall. "For a while demons had just lived peacefully, content with discovering more about themselves."

Now a different young man with white hair was depicted on the wall  with his friends, broad smiles on their faces. He was painted standing on a rock above his friends, his hand stretched above him emitting an almost blinding white light.

"Demons didn't have a hierarchy like humans. No king or president. The way we were created, we didn't need one. But when one demon tried to become 'King of Demons', that's how the Mad King's War broke out."

The young man was still surrounded by his friends, only the friends were now all on the ground around him. Dead.

"One ruthless demon tried to rule all the demons with his immense power. The one thing was... for every demon he killed, another one would be spawned in his or her place."

Now the young man was gone, but the picture of his dead friends remained. And smaller figures had now appeared around them, like children.

"That's why the Mad King's War was so terrible. The Mad King wanted nothing more than to kill his adversaries, but they only spawned more demons. Not exactly reincarnates, but spawned demons inherited traits from their demon parent."

Jimin turned to face me. "Also, the reason why I know there are exactly four female demons out there is because there were originally four female demons exiled. Male demons spawn male demons, female demons spawn female. One spawn per a demon."

All this new information swirled around in my head. So that meant the 'insurance lady' was one out of exactly four females. Tough luck.

Without thinking, I couldn't help but ask, "I overheard you and the other members of your group were spawned from the Mad King's War."

The moment the question was out of my mouth, I regretted it.

Jimin's expression darkened to something almost terrifying. "Where did you hear that from?" he rumbled.

Oh crap.

Angry demon.

"Uh... er, just overheard," I hummed, panicking internally as Jimin's blue eyes were almost nothing but black.

Jimin slowly let out a stream of air. The enchanting atmosphere of storytelling shattered.

"Anyways," he curtly resumed the story without acknowledging my previous comment. "The Mad King's War lasted years and years. It was devastating and ever since, no one has ever tried to accomplish such a feat to become "King" or "Queen" of demons. That's just not how we were made."

A world where a ruler wasn't needed. If humans could be like that, how would society be? Would it be almost like this peaceful society of demons?

"However, we do have what we call 'superiors' for every region of Itzborough," Jimin continued briskly. "These demons of the 'superiors' are closest to rulers you'll get. They have the most influence on demons of their region."

Jimin lead me now to the large table in the middle of the room.

"Superiors are generally decided upon the level of power potential the members hold along with the size of the group itself. Generally, the larger the number of group members there are, the more superior they are."

Jimin pointed at a map on the table. "We are in the 8th region. Currently, the superior group is a 12-member group called the Crimson Immortals."

"How do demon groups rise to superiority?" I asked softly.

Jimin shrugged. "It sort of just happens. Sometimes the new group will outright challenge the current group, other times, it just becomes obvious to everyone that there is a new superior group."

I scanned the papers on the table. Most of them were historic documents it looked like. One notebook caught my attention and I leaned closer.

Rankings of Power Based on Color.

The power potential of every demon can be easily judged by the color of their hair and eyes.

The warmer the color, the less of power potential a demon has. The colder the color, the more dangerous the demon is.

Red and Orange is one of the weakest power potentials. Yellow and Green are generally the most common as well more intermediate power potential. Blue and purple are among the deadliest power potentials.

I swallowed and couldn't help but glance at Jimin who was as currently yawning and scratching his tummy.

Blue.

So did that mean he was one of the deadlier demons?

I continued to read the rest.

The most rare and lethal demon powers of them all are silver and white.

My eyes widened in surprise.

Namjoon and Jin were silver and white.

Good grief. Namjoon and Jin were one of the most dangerous.

Yoongi and Jimin were also extremely high on the list as purple and blue. Taehyung and Jungkook were in the middle but still lethal with green and gold. Hoseok was literally the only one who might be deemed "safe" to be around.

Jimin leaned towards me, eyes glittering. "Welcome to Itzborough, Human," he chuckled darkly.
