She was still counting sheep
As she started to hear birds
They had a peaceful sleep
While her mind was alive with words
Longing for a peaceful rest
As her alarm started to ring
Her patience put up to the test
So there it goes, another day
I guess there is no choice
Of all the things she wished to say
She held in her useless voice
One day, the words will come out
The ones haunting her mind
Then she'll sleep without the sound
Of the guilt, sleep now defined
