A/N- The timeline in this chapter will be a mess cause I'm running out of idea. But hope you still enjoy it.

I'm sorry if my English is a mess too. English is not my first language so..yeah.

Hope you understand it.

After the bell had rung, signing that Potions had ended, Snape dismissed them and almost all of them rushed out of the room. Jaiden trailed behind them slowly and followed her classmates as they made their way up hundreds of stairs.

As the students slowly went on their way, Jaiden was left alone. She walked through the corridors until she was pulled back by someone pulling her robe. She turned around and was faced with three girls from Slytherin. She remembered seeing them in her Potions class.

Jaiden kept a calm look on her face. "Can I help you?"

"What kind of magic did you put on Snape?" The girl in the middle asked with a bossy tone. She looked to be their leader. Jaiden stared at the girl.

Are these the kinds of things she needs to face while being at school? If so, she would like to go home. She was still trying to adapt to being around people and getting into an argument was the last thing she wanted to do. So, she shook her head slightly before turning around to continue her walk towards the Great Hall.

To no avail, the girls caught up to her and blocked her path. Jaiden sighed quietly.

"You can't talk now?" The girl on the left spoke up.

"Just let me through. I don't want any trouble." Jaiden said calmly.

"How can he let you go without getting angry at you?" Asked the other girl.

Jaiden sighed again, but this time frustratingly. "I don't know. Maybe if you could just ask him. Look, I don't want any trouble with you. Can you just let me through?"

They weren't satisfied with Jaiden's answer, let alone liking her attitude. The leader stepped forward and shoved Jaiden. She lost her balance and fell onto the floor.

"It does not end here." The girl said. Jaiden watched them all walk away silently, choosing to not fight back.

She stood on her feet and picked up her bag. "Good. It's only the first day." She mumbled to herself while dusting her robe. She sighed. "Mum, help me."

"Jaiden?" A voice came behind her. A familiar one. She turned around and hoped that the person didn't see what had just happened. She was met with the figure of Professor Lupin.

"Hello, Professor." She sent a little smile on his way which he returned it immediately. But, his smile contained a little concern in them.

"Are you okay? What did they want from you?" Lupin asked softly. He was coming from around the corner when he saw Jaiden get pushed back until she fell. He can only shake his head at the student's behaviour before approaching the girl.

Of course, he saw it. Jaiden thought to herself.

"I'm fine, Professor. And, it's nothing. Just a little misunderstanding." She said. She was quick with a lie.

"If you say so." He said while still having a little doubt. Then, they decided to walk to the Great Hall together but Jaiden chose to be silent for the whole walk and Lupin respected it.

After lunch, Jaiden had Defense Against the Dark Arts. The class went well. It was interesting. So far, Jaiden decided DADA and Potion were among her top favourite classes.

Charm was also fun. That day, they learned a levitation charm. She got her feather to float on her first try. Same as Hermione. They only shared a smile as they were sitting across from each other. Professor Flitwick complimented them and decided to give 5 points to each of them.

The flying class was fun, too, but Jaiden was not in full. After seeing Neville getting into a little accident, she decided to stay a little away from this class. The day turned out to be even greater when words got out that Harry had become a new Seeker for the Gryffindor's Quidditch team. All thanks to Malfoy.

Weeks full of fun had passed. Jaiden had made a lot of new friends. Even her Professors liked her. Sometimes, she will hang out with Hermione at the library for their homework or to study. But not often since Hermione will spend most of her time with Harry and Ron.

Since the day of the troll incident breaking into Hogwarts on Halloween, Hermione had become close with Harry and Ron because they'd saved her. It was a good thing Hermione didn't die that day.

Jaiden also had found two spots where she would spend her time when she was alone. Well, she was always alone. Sure, she had friends but they weren't close. So, she would just be by herself.

She will mostly spend her free time under the tree near the Black Lake or Astronomy Tower. Mostly, she'd just resting and humming a song to herself.

One day, when Jaiden was resting under the tree in front of the Black Lake, the same three girls Jaiden had grown sick with walked towards her. They wouldn't know when to leave her alone.

In Potions class that morning, Snape had congratulated her on the making of Sleeping Draught. That earned her glares from the girls. She had been avoiding them ever since the class ended, but they came searching.

It was irritating for Jaiden because they would always find her and start to insult her. Jaiden didn't know how they knew, but ever since they'd figured out that Jaiden was an orphan, it had been something they would insult her about.

Great. Here we go again.

"So, you are still alone it seems?" Said the leader. Her friends laughed. Jaiden only rolled her eyes and stood up, taking her bag with her. "And where do you think you're going?"

She started to walk away but the other two girls blocked her way. It took a lot for Jaiden to not lose her temper.

"Can we just stop this? It's been going on for weeks. Aren't you tired of having a one-sided argument? I don't have a problem with you. What makes you hate me? I didn't do anything."

The girl glared at her, "But, I do. I have a problem with you. Everyone seems to like you. All the professors favour you. Even Professor Snape." She gave a look full of disgust to Jaiden.

She groaned frustratingly. "And? Do you think I wanted that? I'm not asking them to favour me or anything." Jaiden was starting to lose it. She had been quiet every time they approached her. But, this time, she felt the need to shut them up. She snapped her fingers. "Or, maybe be a little bit smart so that people will actually like you. That doesn't sound like a bad idea, is it?" She smiled sarcastically. "You're just bitter." She whispered the last part but little did she know the girl heard that.

Jaiden's words hit the girl's nerve but she tried not to show it.

"Bitter? With an orphan girl like you? Pathetic. I have no reason to be  jealous of a scum Gryffindor."

"Then, stop approaching just to bother me," Jaiden said with a hint of desperation in her voice. But, before the girl had a chance to make any remark, a voice stopped her.

"What is going on here?" Came a familiar voice behind Jaiden. She turned to that voice and saw Professor Lupin and Professor Snape.

"It's her, Professor Snape. She said all Slytherin are scum." Said the girl on the right side. Jaiden sighed in annoyance but kept her mouth shut. "She kept bothering us and brag about how smart she is." Jaiden looked at the three girls, waiting for another lie to come out.

"But, as I remembered, you were the first one to get physical," Lupin spoke up as he recalled the moment she saw Jaiden get picked on. "You pushed her to the ground." The girl frowned before looking back at Snape.

"Professor, I swear I didn't-"

"That's enough," Snape said sternly. "Miss John, go before I take house point."

"From your own house. I don't think so."

"Don't make me." He said and glared at the three. The glare was enough to make them walk away.

"What did they want from you, Jaiden?" asked Lupin.

"Nothing." She shook her head while avoiding eye contact.

"Jaiden." Lupin's voice carried a hint of warning. She had brushed him off multiple times when he had caught her having some trouble with people, but he wouldn't let it go this time.

She sighed in defeat and said, "They are mad at me because everyone likes me, even Professor Snape."

"That's because you're good in class," Snape said almost immediately. Jaiden looked up at him. It wasn't like Snape to compliment someone directly. However, Jaiden nodded and smiled slightly.

"Thank you, Professor." Snape nodded.

"Well, I'll leave you with Lupin then. I have something to do." With that, he strode away. Jaiden watched him leave. As time passed, Jaiden realised that Snape wasn't that bad.
