♡ Jessica Woods ♡

I rooted to the spot, gaping at the piece of paper which was pasted on Jace's locker. I rubbed my eyes before looking at the sheet again and no matter how many times I glanced it, the phrases were remaining unchanged and it completely baffled me.

"Why did you do like this?" Jace asked in a faint voice and when I looked up at him, he was looking at my books teary-eyed.

"No Jace! I didn't do this, I swear." I told but he didn't seem to be convinced as he shook his head still looking down.

"Oh really? Then is there anyone whose name is also Jessica Woods other than you?" Oliver questioned crossing his arms over his chest and I felt everyone's eyes were on me.

"But why do I want to do something against Jace and giving the clue that I was the offender at the same time?" I asked and Oliver nodded his chin at me.

"And that is what you have to ask yourself."

I frowned and looked at Jace. "Listen Jace, I-"

"What's happening here?" some familiar voice cut me off and everyone's gaze turned to the owner of the voice, Ryan. He walked into the crowd and approached us with Samuel who met my gaze for a nanosecond before averting them to his new bedmate, Josephine.

Jace groaned in response and glanced at me with locked jaw like I was the reason for the whole thing. But when I tried to communicate him through my eyes, he quickly looked away.

"Look what this little bitch has done." Oliver muttered and I scowled at him as he might've forgotten the hug he gave me and the day he was being nice to me.

Jace shot him a glare and he rolled his eyes in response but none of them seemed to be noticed it, as their gazes were focused on Ryan and Samuel's reaction.

"Woah, woah! I know Karma's a bitch but I never thought it would fully turn on its bitchy mode." Samuel snorted, pulling Josephine closer to him and grinned smugly at Jace while Ryan marched towards us and tore the sheet away from his locker and crumpled it into a ball before throwing it somewhere.

"Seriously Jessica? Is this the way you approach someone? Are you playing hard-to-get or something?" Ryan asked in a harsh tone and I furrowed my brows shaking my head.

"No! I didn't do this!" I raised my voice a little to prove that they were wrong and turned to look at Jace. "Jace, do you think I would do such an unkind act like this? Especially to you?" I asked and he clenched his jaw.

"To tell you the truth, I've never thought you'd do like this but that doesn't change the fact you did right?" he questioned, chuckling dryly and I let out a loud sigh.

"Jesus! How many times-"

"Okay, hold on, so are you trying to tell me that you didn't do this?" Jace asked in a dull voice pointing to the sheet and I nodded as fast as I could. He gave me a flat look before looking over his shoulder and extending his hand to someone. "Alice, gimme your phone."

Who is Alice?

"Oh yeah sure." A brunette-haired girl came forward and rummaged through her case and took her phone out and unlocked it before handing it to Jace. I've seen this girl somewhere.

"Then what is meant by this?" Jace asked, showing me the screen and I furrowed my brows at the phone when some video started to play. I felt most of the people including Samuel and Ryan too formed around me and tried to see what was he going to show through this.

A girl who had longish blonde hair, which was absolutely none other than me, was standing on the locker room and pasting the sheet very quickly on Jace's locker, glancing around surreptitiously once in a while. Yay life!

The video has been taken from the sideways so the phrases that were written on the sheet couldn't be seen through the video.

"What's actually happening here, Jessie?" Louise asked in a hushed voice which was loud enough only for me to hear and I sighed defeatedly.

"I don't know."

When the video stopped, the phone was taken back and I looked up and met the icy blue eyes of Jace which were totally intimidating me.

Everyone started to whisper with their friends, and now most of the people were gathered around and sticking their noses into other people's business as usual. I saw the brunette who was standing behind Jace and trying to hide the smirk on her face.

Yes! This was the girl who walked past me on the hallway while I was checking on the sheet. So she was the one who took the video and changed the paper. But why did she do like this? And how did she know about Jace's past?

"Uh, l-look Jace," I began, glancing everywhere but him as my palms started to sweat.

Why the hell am I scaring like I was the one who did wrong? I needed to clarify everyone who were looking at me judgmentally.

"I really didn't do-"

"Jeez Jessica, everyone knows that you're the one who did it. I wanna know why?" Jace asked frustratingly and when Ryan glared at me along with others and when Louise too didn't come to my rescue, I felt everyone was ganging up on me.

"Atleast you could've said to me privately." he mumbled in a shaky voice and suddenly I forgot my native language and I didn't know what to reply. Eventhough Jace has told me how to stand up for myself I still didn't know how to and I freaking couldn't.

But hold on, I've seen this Alice girl somewhere other than today. Oh yeah! I've met her with Leah and Natasha on our annual sportsmeet.

Alice and Natasha!? Oh My God! That jealousy bitch!

"Did Natasha know that I knew about your past?" I questioned and suddenly Jace's cold expression replaced into a frown.

"What?"

"I mean, did you talk with her yesterday? After dropping me home?" I asked and he pulled his brows together, tilting his head to one side.

"Why are you talking out of the topic? It's not the point-"

"It is, Jace, it really is." I nodded firmly and glanced around. "Well, where is Natasha now?"

"She is.. uh, she must be in-" Jace stammered, glancing around as well and suddenly Leah replied on his behalf, appearing out of nowhere.

"She's in the bathroom."

"Oh yeah? And she's doing her own business and didn't know nothing about the current chaotic situation that's going on here huh?" I scoffed and Jace stepped forward, towering over me and I quickly kept a step backward startling by his action.

"What are you trying to prove here Jessica?" he asked in a low voice and my heart started to pound heavily in fear.

"Uh, Natasha's the one who did it. Not me." I mumbled and Jace was about to keep another step forward but Ryan gripped Jace's shoulder restraining him as he was going to harm me.

"How could you fucking lie like this when I have a big proof that you're the one who did it?" he hissed and I gulped, looking at his chest. "If Tash wanna do such shit like this, she would've been done already."

Oh God, He's trusting his bestfriend so much.

Finally I mustered up the courage and looked up at his blue eyes. "C'mon Jace, connect the dots. If-"

"What's going on here?" Natasha approached us with a puzzled look on her face and when Jace acknowledged her, he turned towards the locker, running his fingers through his hair. I shot daggers at her while she was looking at everyone with furrowed brows. "Can someone explain me?"

I huffed, turning away and Louise rolled her eyes at Natasha while Samuel was staring at me, leaning on the locker for the whole time. I quickly averted my gaze and looked at Oliver who was sending the students to get back to their works.

"Tash, Come over here." Ryan called and Natasha nodded, walking towards him. When everyone's attention was slightly diverted from us, I moved closer to Jace.

"Jace, will you please listen to me?" I pleaded in a faint voice and he gave me a flat look.

"Isn't that what I'm doing for the whole time?"

I took a deep breath and noticed my surroundings. Most of the students have gone and right now only the familiar people were staying and they were the ones who were so fond of live dramas and skipping classes.

"Jace.." I called and his jaw tensed as he looked down at me. "If you haven't seen the video clip, would you still think that I was the one who did this?"

He sighed, giving me an indifferent shrug. "Er.. I don't know."

"You think I would do it?"

"What I'm thinking is not the point here, Jessica. The point is why did you do this? Why?"

"Alright!" I whisper-yelled and it echoed the entire hallway which made everyone to turn their attention back to us.

"Listen, yes, the video is true and I'm the one who pasted the sheet on your locker.." I paused and looked at the astonished faces; Natasha's expression was oddly surprised too. "..But the sheet has been replaced." I finished which made Oliver and Samuel scoff while all of the girls including Louise stare at me in disbelief. Natasha was holding the crumpled sheet on her hand and Ryan was glancing at me and then at the sheet in utter confusion.

"Seriously Jessica? I don't know what the shit are you talking about? Who would've been replaced your sheet? And why did you paste a sheet on my locker in the first place? What's been written on it?" he fired questions at me and I bit my lower lip not knowing what to reply.

"Well-"

"You horny virgin! I can't understand how on earth you could write some hurtful phrases like these." Natasha cut me off, marching towards us with the sheet on her hand. "Jace's already going through so many stuffs. And you really wanna do this to him? Seriously it was a low blow."

I was really at a loss for words by her Oscar-award-winning acting. Jace sighed exasperatedly, turning at her.

"Tash, this is a problem between Jessica and me. Please don't intrude in it." he said firmly and she frowned, shaking her head.

"Absolutely I can't. She has humiliated you Jace. But still you're trying to-"

"Excuse you! Humiliated him? Me?" I snapped at her. "How could you lie through your teeth like this?"

"Me? I'm not the one who caught on Alice's video and still denying to accept the fault." Natasha scoffed and Jace nodded clenching and unclenching his jaw as if what she said was correct.

Everyone was looking at me with disgust, and Louise was nowhere to be seen which hurt me like hell. Right now I was regretting about the decision I made today.

Jace said he never shared about his past other than Natasha and me. Maybe Georgia knew about his past but she was in the hospital right now and she would never do such thing like this.

Yes, there was no doubt. Natasha was the one who did this.

"What did I ever do to you, Natasha?" I asked and I could feel my eyes getting watery and I was a bit scared as the tears were near to my eyelids and going to spill down any moment while Natasha was giving me an unconcerned look. "Why did you do this?"

"Are you crazy? Everyone knows that you're the one who did this-"

"But you and I know who really did this right?" I told, chuckling dryly and her eyes slightly widened for a split second but sooner it replaced into a livid look. Before I could even process what was happening, she slapped hard across my face.

Automatically my palm touched the cheek which was aching pain by her slap and the tears started to fall down and I stood still, staring at her shockingly as I didn't expect this at all.

When I was already hurting like hell and when I felt a loser for not being able to prove that I wasn't wrong, Natasha was rubbing the salt into the wound which made me want to strangle her by myself.

"What the hell Tash?" Jace exclaimed at the same time everyone gasped loudly, excluding Samuel.

"Karma's a real bitch actually." Samuel said, giving me an evil smirk. And that's when I realized he was stating this because I did slap him once and that's why I was receiving this.

"She deserves this Jace. But she deserves this from you actually. Though you're still trying to protect her eventhough you know she's done-"

"What the heck is going on here?" a familiar voice echoed the whole place and when I instantly realized who it was, I quickly turned around and met my brother, Alexander who was standing with Louise. Oh crap! Why did she go and call him?

His eyes widened when he noticed me and I sniffled, looking down and hugged my books tightly when he marched towards our direction.

"Jessie!" he whisper-yelled, gripping my chin and lifting it up. "Why are you crying?" he inquired and my lips quivered as I started to cry even more and it tightened his grip on my chin as he turned my face a little, eyeing it carefully. "Just tell me who slapped you."

I looked up at him and his eyes softened and gestured me to reply and I sniffled, slowly turning my gaze to Natasha. She pretended not to be bothered about his intimidating figure as she scowled at me and then at my brother.

Alex fumed, taking his hand off of my chin before reaching for Natasha and gave her a resounding slap which made Natasha's glasses fall down.

"Hey!" She winced, rubbing her cheek.

Jace, Ryan and Samuel gasped in unison while Leah took the glasses from the floor and helped Natasha to put it on who was pouting at Alex angrily.

Before the guys could do anything, Alex gripped Jace's collar and shoved him against the locker which made Jace taken aback. When did my little brother become hulk?

I gasped, gripping Alex's arm but he swatted it away. "You bloody bastard! if I were you and if Georgia was in Jessica's shoes, I'd surely never let anyone hurt her and my Bestfriend too includes in that anyone." he hissed and before Jace could say anything, Oliver interrupted.

"You haven't grown up, dude."

"Unless you saw my dick, shut the fuck up!" Alex retorted and Oliver raised his brows, snorting. But what caught my attention was, the sudden blush on Leah's and Alice's face who were muttering something with eachother. Urgh..

"You don't know what happened, Alex." Jace stated in a low voice and he scoffed.

"Actually you're the one who don't know what happened. Well, I don't know who wrote this stuff.." he pointed to the paper which was still on Natasha's hand. "..But I'm hundred percent sure that if those phrases were not even related about love then it's not written by Jessica."

"Love? What's that supposed to mean?" Jace furrowed his brows, looking at me and Samuel sneered.

"Like, Oh Jace! I hate falling because it makes me clumsy. But why do I keep falling for you again and again?" he stated sarcastically and most of the people snickered at me and despite the humiliation Natasha faced a few seconds ago, she smirked gleefully.

My face flushed with embarrassment and I gripped Alex's arm again.

"Alex! Stop it." I muttered and he released the grip on Jace's collar and turned to look at me.

"You're the moronic person in the world Jessie! Seriously! Instead of asking him out by doing some stupid stuff like this, you could've asked him out directly." he scolded and I bit my inner cheek, tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"What are you talking about?" Jace asked in complete confusion.

"Man.. you both are complete dumbasses. Can't you see that she likes you?" Alex asked him frustrantingly and Jace took a sharp intake of a breath, turning his gaze towards me. Right now I wanted the earth to open up and swallow me.

"loves you actually." Louise corrected with a blank expression on her face and Jace's eyes widened and he opened his mouth and closed it several times as if it came as a bolt from the blue. And I wasn't surprised when everyone mirrored the reaction of Jace.

"Wh-What?" Jace stuttered staring at me open-mouthed and suddenly a tear rolled down on my cheek which made him avert his gaze and clench his fists. Alex turned to look at me and right now he looked like my over-protective older brother than the devil-may-care little brother.

"Look Jessie, to be frank, you're the main reason for your whole heartbreak thing." and with that he stomped off without sparing glances at anyone.

I exhaled, looking at the backside of my brother and I could feel everyone's eyes were burning holes in the back of my head. I turned around, focusing my gaze only on Jace who was trying his best to get over the shock.

"Jace.."

"Don't!" he stated through his clenched teeth, holding his forefinger at my direction accusingly and grabbed the sheet from Natasha's hand before advancing towards me. "You know what, I'm really impressed by your play." he seethed and eventhough we were terribly closer right now I could feel we were spliting apart.

Then he walked past me but I quickly gripped his wrist which made him stop and look at me over his shoulder.

"Jace, I seriously didn't do this." I said and he clenched his jaw, closing his eyes and while I was getting a little of my hopes up, he jerked his hand off of my grip and disappeared out of my sight.

Woah, this is a real nightmare!
