jeongguk hisses in pain as taehyung presses the ice on his bruised eye.

"i'm sorry.", he quickly apologizes, thinking he did it too harshly even though he did it as gently as possible.

"no, it's ok.", he replies and grabs taehyung's free hand, intertwining it with his own.

taehyung smiles at that, loving it how jeongguk always gives him butterflies with every little thing he does.

"tae, i'm thanking you and your family so much, really-"

"shh.", taehyung just says.

"you deserve this gguk. this and so much more.", he smiles at jeongguk and jeongguk just leans in to peck his lips.

taehyung giggles just because he feels so happy.

"your laugh is the cutest thing in the world.", jeongguk says, never failing to make taehyung blush.

"don't say that.", he mumbles but still has to smile. and jeongguk has to smile whenever he sees taehyung smiling.

they both look at the door when they hear someone knocking and in the next moment namjoon comes in.

"hey.", he sofly smiles at them and they respond.

he comes closer and also sits down on the bed now.

"i just wanted to say i'm sorry for everything you went through gguk." jeongguk quickly shrugs it off.

"don't worry about it."

"and congratulations.. now that you're dating.", he says and taehyung's smile gets bigger. both of them thank him.

"i just talked to yoongi earlier and he said he wants to move out since he's living together with his sister. and then i thought maybe you two could live together? it'd make it less expensive and we would also support you with mone-"

"no. joon thank you but first of all i don't want to be a burden to yoongi hyung and second i can't let you pay for me it's even too much that i'm 'living' here for now."

"gguk, you know we want to do that right? it makes us happy when we can help you.", taehyung says and namjoon's agrees.

"we will talk about this some other time when yoongi is also here. rest now.", namjoon says and jeongguk nods.

he says good night to them before leaving taehyung's room.

jeongguk sighs heavily.

"don't worry about anything ggukie. just enjoy your time with me.", taehyung smiles cutely and jeongguk's serious and worried expression also slowly turns into a smile.

"i always do.", he says, putting the ice away to pull taehyung closer properly and start to kiss him.

"i love you."

"i love you too."

2 days passed and they went very good for taehyung and jeongguk, happily spending time together and they couldn't be happier.

right now they're baking a cake and jeongguk is laughing hardly because taehyung somehow didn't manage to crack an egg and it's on the ground now.

taehyung looks disappointed at the ground before he starts laughing too and then starts to clean it up while jeongguk already took a new egg.

"oh hi mom, hi dad!", taehyung greets his parents when they enter the house, coming from a meeting.

"what are you guys doing?", his mother asks with a smile. "we're baking a cake.", he giggles.

"jeongguk can i talk to you for a second?", taehyung's father suddenly asks and jeongguk gulps harshly, already thinking of the worst things.

jeongguk follows him to the corridor.

"he is in prison."

"what?", jeongguk asks shocked. "b-but how did you do that? i mean.. how did they believe you so easily?"

"don't worry about that.", the other says with a smile, probably having more power than jeongguk thinks.

"your mom is packing her things right now. she gets hospitalized by a drug rehabilitation clinic 4 hours away from here. a taxi will take her there.", he explains.

jeongguk understands that they probably weren't even at a meeting.

jeongguk nods and in this moment he realizes that he has no own parents anymore. he only has taehyung and his family now. but that is enough.

sometimes he just wishes his mother would've stayed strong after his dad passed away, then probably they could've been happy. then jeongguk wouldn't have had to go through all this pain. but it already happened and it's totally okay since he's fine now.

since he has taehyung now.

"thank you.", he says and smiles warmly at him.

the other pats him on the shoulder, also giving him a warm smile, before leaving.

jeongguk still stands there though, thinking of everything. he doesn't think that he'll ever have a good relationship with his mother again but he hopes that she gets clean and at least tries to have a normal life again.

he leaves the corridor and goes to taehyung.

"you okay?", he asks and jeongguk nods, pecking his lips.
