RECAP:

"I'll just uh-take my clothes and be out of your way." I gathered my things and began to head out of the clouded room.

"It's ok, take your time I'm going to find Ashton anyway." She smiled before heading out, but not before turning back towards me.

"You wouldn't want to hang out later would you?" She questioned and knowing full well that I had nothing to do today, I happily confirmed that I would love to do so.

The song can be played whenever you wish...But, as per usual, I have said when it can be played :)

REBECCA'S POV:

A black and white bandana currently lay upon my eyes, preventing me from 'spoiling the surprise' that Maisy was taking me towards. However, the word surprise didn't connote to the same excitement that it once did.

"Where on earth are you taking me Maisy?" The arm that wasn't being dragged by her, outstretched furiously in an attempt to guide myself whilst blindfolded.

"Not long now..." She pulled me a couple of steps.

"Nearly there..." And a couple more steps.

"Ok, we're here!" She said after we came to a sudden halt, sounding like a giddy child on christmas.

I lifted the material from my eyes and after squinting from the scorching sun, I gasped at the large picnic basket that was laid out on a little blanket.

"Maisy this is amazing!!" I ran over to her and threw my arms around her tall frame.

After pulling back from the hug, I took in her model-like features and her noticeably rosy cheeks.

To be fair it is awfully hot out here, thank god Maisy gave me some black shorts to wear instead of those fluffy joggers! I thought.

We both took a seat on the blanket and didn't waste a second before diving into the incredible platter of various fruit and drinks.

I popped a grape into my mouth and turned to Maisy.

"Soooooo, how long have you and Ashton been a thing?" I asked as I began to play with the frame of my sunglasses.

As I asked the question, she removed the beer bottle from her lips and began to cough on the liquid in her mouth.

After her fairly large coughing fit, she started to laugh to herself.

"I feel like I'm missing something." I nervously laughed along with her.

"You're kidding right?" She said with so much disbelief.

"No like I seriously thou-"

"Oh. Uh- no we are and never been a thing." she said and lowered herself onto her back, receiving a wolf whistle from a large group of boys further down the beach.

She didn't even turn to look at them before she held up her middle finger and yelled "Foutez le camp"

("Get the hell out of here")

*Play song now*

"I fucking hate men." She murmured and shifted her head so that we were facing each other.

"Me too bitch, me fucking too" I smiled back at her, holding up my beer bottle and we both began to laugh.

"Going back to your question though Rebecca-"

"It's Becca. Well that's what my friends call me atleast... Rebecca makes me sound like a creepy doll." I laughed.

"So I'm your friend now?" She questioned, holding onto her chest as If she had just received a trophy.

"Fine, I take it back." I said and turned away from her in a fake protest.

"Yeah, that just won't cut it, I'm afraid." She said before taking another swig of her drink and pulling my arm so that I would snap out of it.

I turned back around, attempting to hold a serious face, but the second that she let out a noise sounding like a cross between a snort and a laugh, I couldn't help but drop the act.

"Anyway, Ashton and I have been friends since he had moved here. We uh-"

"Became something more?" I finished for her and she nodded slightly, shifting her gaze to the soft white sand.

"Nothing serious though." She said almost cautious incase it would cause a reaction out of me. "But I've seen the way he looks at you Becca." She paused and met my saddened eyes. "I'm not just saying this to sound like cliche bitch...but I've never seen him look at anyone like that before."

I was going to reassure her that there was nothing going on between Ashton and I, but she quickly continued.

"The thing is, I didn't expect to be jealous when he was talking about you at the party...No matter who he hooked up with, I never spared another thought to them." She looked back down and let out a breath, almost preparing herself on what she was about to say. This action alone made my stomach drop as she had suddenly turned so serious.

"It was a surprise at first and I didn't understand why I felt this way but uh- I quickly came to the realisation that I wasn't jealous of you...But I was jealous of Ashton." She breathed out.

"I- don't understand, why would you be-"

"Because I have eyes, Becca. And I don't expect you to feel anything like that towards me, as I see the way you look at him back... But, without realisation until now, you have somehow made me come to terms with the reason why I have felt this strange emptiness my whole life and not understanding why nothing felt as it should.So...as sappy as this badly put-together speech was, this picnic was my way thank you...I guess'' She paused as I began to melt at her utter cuteness.

I didn't hesitate before pulling her into a tight embrace as we sat there in silence. She pulled back first this time and wiped a stray tear from her cheek. Although she never said the two words that were begging to come out of her mouth, I knew exactly what she meant.

"I'm sure this wasn't the turn out of what you expected to happen when I asked you to hang out today." She laughed with a sniffle.

"My new friend taking me on a thank you picnic for helping her come out?... honestly wasn't on my top few outcomes." I joked and we returned back to devouring the entire basket of food.

I popped yet another grape in my mouth before continuing...

"I've never swung that way you know...But if I ever did? Just know that you'd definatly be my first choice." I gave her a wink and she playfully smacked me.

"I swear to god that I have known you for less than 24 hours and I already know that you are my soulmate bitch." She said and I held up my second beer...

..."Cheers to that" I replied with a smirk.

A few hours had passed on the beach and there wasn't any moment that wasn't filled with conversation.

By phone buzzed a couple of times whilst Maisy was going off on one. This time, she was explaining the odds of us being in a simulation, in which I found her argument to be extreamly convincing.

I ignored the notifications at first, but when Maisy grabbed my phone to read them for me, she rushed to her feet and began to pack up the remains of the picnic.

"What's happening? Wait...what did it say." I questioned and stood up beside her.

"That you're going out for dinner bitchhh. Oh my word look at the time, we need to hurry...you need to shower, and I'm gonna do your makeu-"

"With Ashton?" I asked but she gave me a strange look.

"I mean, the contact says Sam and he claims that he wants to talk. Something about last night..."

I couldn't hide the way that my face dropped when she mentioned Sam's name.

It's not like I wanted for it to be Ashton. Right?

Although it wasn't a topic that I was ready to talk about, I knew that I had to accept his invitation and tell him why I freaked out yesterday...

...I needed to tell Sam everything.

Sorry that the last few chapters have been straying away from Becca and Ashton's story...I promise there are some steamy scenes approaching ;)
