You rolled over in bed, expecting to bump into Yui.

Except you didn't.

"S-Shisutā?" Your nearly silent query met the empty room. "Shisutā? W-where are you?" You flinched slightly at the raining outside. You turned your head to the window, it was. . . open? Why was the window open? You shivered as you leapt from the bed, running over the open glass.

"Shisutā?!?" You called out the open window. 'Oh no! What if she's been kidnapped?!? Wh-what if she-' The internal question you were asking seemed to hang in the air around you.

What if she left me?

'No! Nonononono! Shisutā wouldn't leave me! No! W-would she?' Doubts began to enter you mind as you sunk to the floor, quaking from both the chilling rain and the fear of an unknown possibility. What if she did leave? What then? You didn't know what you would do. 'I-I left Mama. . . So, then. . . will Shisutā leave me?'

"No!" You stood, filled with determination. "Shisutā wouldn't do that to me! She made a promise!" You ran out the room, intent on getting outside to the garden and looking for clues. Racing through the halls you slammed open doors on your path to find your missing sister, just as your tiny feet did your mind race with endless possibilities of what might have happened.

Finally you made to the garden, looking around anxiously for any sort of clue. You crawled through roses and even splashed through a fountain.

Nothing.

You weren't sure how long you had been out there, minutes, hours, maybe they were at school by now and nothing had been wrong to begin with. Or there was more wrong then you had ever thought.

"Oi!"

Your head jerked to the side, shivering from the cold night air along with having been soaked by the rain.

And still in your nightgown.

"Chīsana!" T-that was. . . Ayato? Calling for you? What did he want?

You opened your mouth to respond, trying desperately to force words through your throat.

"Omocha-chan!" You turned your head to the other side, Laito? What are they doing out here? His voice seemed pretty normal, but. . . slightly more. . . tense, then usual.

"Ningyō? Come out immediately!" Kanato's voice was exactly the same childishly demanding tone you remembered from a couple nights ago.

'I'm right here!' You shouted mentally, why couldn't they just find you? Couldn't they smell you or something? You didn't understand. Nevertheless you tried to move your limbs out of the curled position they were stuck in.

"Would you get out here Kusogaki? It's very rude of you to continue on like this." Oh no. Reiji was there too.

"Ritorubaka! Tch. Where the hell are you?" Wow. Was everyone here? Everyone except. . .

"Imōto-chan! Please! Where are you Imō-" Yui's voice was cut off by the sudden appearance of a small figure running into her arms, sobbing and shaking from cold.

"S-Sh-Shisutā!" You wailed against the older girl as she lifted you into her arms.

"Shh," Yui whispered, brushing your damp hair back with her hand. "It's alright Imōto-chan. Shisutā's here. I-I'm right here. Everything's. . . Everything's fine." You pulled back slightly to give a watery smile, she was wearing her school uniform, meaning you had been out here for hours.

You relaxed back into her arms with a contented smile, hearing Shu leave saying how noisy you were. But. . . there might have been a very, very small smile on his face while he said it. Not he'd admit it. Not that any of the vampiric brothers would admit to their relief. However slight.

But that's just the way things were.

And you accepted that.

Eventually.

Yui carried you back up to you two's room, so she could dry you off and get you a change of clothes. Humming slightly as she walked up the stairs, smiling at your dozing form and peaceful face.

Next time she would definitely get you up before leaving.

Remembering the events of the night, and the things she had witnessed, Yui wanted desperately to be able to confide in someone. But not you. She had vowed to protect you, and telling you the confusing things occurring would definitely not be in your best interest.

Sighing she shifted you in her arms as she opened the door, locking it behind her.

Not that that was very useful.

Setting you on the bed she grabbed a towel from the bathroom, this seemed to be becoming a rather frequent occurrence, and began drying you off. Yui rummaged through your closet for some thing for you to sleep in before walking over to put your hair in twin braids. Yawning you remained sitting on the soft covers, being lulled to sleep by her gentle melody.

Until you were awoken by Reiji, namely Reiji scolding you.

For going out into the rain.

And not coming in for your lessons.

Finally he left saying that 'your punishment will be decided later' in an ominous and cryptic way. Yep. Always fun with him around. Yui waited for a minute, as if waiting for another bother to show up, when nothing happened she started humming again.

Until she was cut off by a sudden,

"Chichinashi!"

"A-Ayato!" Yui exclaimed looking up from your pale blonde locks.

"Ayato-sama!" You shouted, all traces of weariness wiped from your face.

"Let me drink your blood." Ayato stared at Yui.

" I-, er, but-" Yui stuttered as you mentally sweatdropped, 'He's certainly direct isn't he?'

"Well, Shisutā-chan's busy right *yawn* now Ayato-sama." You tilted your adorable head at him in consideration. "But, if you're really thirsty. . . I suppose you could drink my blood."

"Imōto!" Yui scolded weakly from behind you as Ayato looked at you in surprise.

'There's no way you're going to actually drink my blood.' You inwardly snickered at the idea.

"Hmph." He glared at you for a second. And then he smirked.

Why did he smirk?

You were very relieved when Ayato left the room. Without buying you.

'Yesh! Bitter blood for the win!' You cheered yourself as Yui seemed pretty shocked by him just leaving like that.

Bitter blood for the win.
