I woke up with a smile plastered on my face. I had kissed Austin! I felt butterflies in the pit of my stomach just thinking of his lips on mine. My mind then started to think about school today, was he going to talk to me? Wait of course he wouldn't, not when he knows I want to tell Calum everything before other people found out. Wait was there anything to tell? I mean are we a thing now or? Wait what if I'm a bad kisser! Oh my god what if the kiss was awful and he never wanted to speak to me again. Breathe Violet!

The kiss couldn't have been that bad because he went in for another one, unless he was just trying again to see if it could have been better than the terrible first kiss. Am I over thinking it?

With I sigh I got out of bed. I left my hair down and threw on a white long sleeved top that laced up at the front with black denim shorts.

"Did you do anything nice last night?" Mom asked as I ate my cereal.

I raised my eyebrow. "Why do you ask?"

"Oh no reason, I just happened to pass Austin driving in his car out of our street on my way home last night,"

I sighed. "Okay you got me, he took me on another date,"

"I knew it!" She said excitedly. "Spill, and this time I'm not taking no for an answer,"

"He took my rock climbing and then for something to eat," I found myself smiling without even meaning to.

"When am I going to meet him?"

"You're not,"

"What do you mean I'm not! Of course I am, I have to meet my daughters boyfriend!"

"He's not my boyfriend mom, besides you know how dad would react if he found out," I said sadly.

My mom looked at me for a while not saying anything. "I'm sorry about him, I know he can be overprotective at times," she bit her lip. "I'll talk to him about it, until then we'll keep it our little secret, but I have to meet him when things get more serious,"

"I don't know if they're going to even get more serious,"

"They will, trust me I can tell,"

"Can you now?" I asked rolling my eyes.

"So what happened last night, did he kiss you?"

"Bye mom," I said grabbing my bag, like hell was I going to talk to her about this.

When I got into school I was greeted by a very annoyed looking Robyn. She stood glaring at me with her arms crossed. Then I remembered that I had forgotten to call her and tell her about last night. Nope she wouldn't be happy with me. Not one bit.

"Before you start I am so sorry I didn't call you last night, I completely forgot," I said as I approached her.

"Do you have any idea what happened to me last night!"

I shook my head no and then I remembered. "Oh yeah the date! How did that go,"

"Well after I covered your ass by making up a date, Calum came to pick me up but he refused to leave me until my date showed up. Now obviously I tried to convince him that my date would be here any minute and that he should leave so my date doesn't get the wrong idea but did Calum listen? Of course not. He would not leave until he saw my date but as you and I both know, there was no date! 30 minutes I had to sit with Calum waiting for my non existent date! 30 minutes! Eventually I told Calum I must have been stood up and he drove me home, do you know how awkward that car journey was?! He kept trying to comfort me thinking I was really cut up about it. Mean while you couldn't even text me to let me know how the date was!!"

My mouth fell open. Suddenly I burst into laughter. "You sat with Calum for 30 minutes waiting for a date that wasn't going to show up,"

"This is no laughing matter and if you want to keep your teeth I suggest you stop laughing!"

I couldn't help but laugh even more. "Oh my god Robyn that is so funny."

Her scowl broke into a smile and soon she was laughing along with me. "He felt so bad for me, which made me feel bad,"

"I am so sorry for not calling you,"

"It's in the past, how did it go?"

"We kissed,"

"Oh my god! You kissed!!!"

"Keep your voice down, but yeah we did, it was so amazing,"

As I finished my sentence I saw Austin walk into school. My stomach did a summersault. His eyes found mine before he looked me up and down and smirked, then he turned away and started talking to one of his friends, acting as if I wasn't even there. I frowned, maybe I was right, maybe nothing was going to change. I sighed and was about to walk away when I saw Austin glance in my direction again. When he knew I was looking he casually pulled his ear and continued with his conversation.

I remembered what that meant! He wanted to meet. "I've got to go, I'll explain later," I said to Robyn as I began to walk away.

"Oh no you don't," she said pulling my arm back. "You are not leaving me alone, especially without an explanation,"

"But Austin wants to see me,"

"Oh really? Oh that changes everything! Go I'll find some boy to talk to or something," she said shooing me away.

I laughed and made my way to the janitor's closet, looking around to make sure no one saw me as I slipped inside. The closest that me and Austin had been meeting in was down a corridor where not many students went so it was unlikely we'd be seen, I didn't want to take any chances though so I still looked around every time I went in.

When I looked around I could see Austin was already here, grinning at me. How did he even get here before me?

He walked closer to me.

"You wanted to talk to me?" I asked.

"Well I wouldn't say I wanted to 'talk'" he said taking another step closer and wrapping his arms around my waist. "You see I have a huge problem."

"Which is?"

"You look really hot today, and if you continue to dress this hot, it'll be hard to keep my hands off of you," he moved his head in closer so I could feel his breath on my neck.

I glanced down at his hands on my hips. "You're obviously not trying very hard," I smirked.

"Your such a smart ass," he chuckled before closing the gap between us. His lips found mine and my eyes fluttered shut. Once again my hands found their way to his hair. He pushed me backwards until my back hit the wall lightly. The bell let out a sharp ring, causing me to pull away. I was breathing heavily.

"What was that for," I laughed.

"I'm making up for lost time," he chucked before kissing me one last time and making his was out of the closet. As I watched him leave a thought came into my mind.

What are we?

***

That same question played on my mind throughout the day. I mean I know it was too soon to put a label on what was happening but where was it headed? Did he want to keep casually seeing each other while still seeing other girls? Did he want a relationship? Was I willing to stay if he didn't want one?

All these questions were giving me a headache. I mean it was Austin Hendrix for crying out loud who as far as I know of hasn't had a serious relationship in the 2 years he's been at this school.

"What's wrong with you?" Robyn asked at lunch.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean you've been gloomy all day, this isn't the face I was expecting for a girl who kissed Austin Hendrix,"

"Will you keep it down!" I warned. The last thing I wanted to do was have someone hear.

"Hey guys!" Calum said sitting besides me. He took one glance at Robyn and shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "Hi Robyn, are you okay?"

"I'm fine! Calum seriously don't worry about it, people get stood up all the time. It's his loss,"

"Are you sure you're okay?" Calum pressed.

"I'm sure! Seriously I don't even care! Besides the cute boy behind the cash register gave me his number when I went to buy that bottle of water,"

I couldn't help the smile on my face as she said that.

"I'm going to get some food," I said excusing myself.

I got my food and was making my way back to the table when I collided with something. My food fell to the ground.

"Oh I'm so sorry about that," the voice of the thing that knocked my food said. I looked up to see a very smug looking Kim. I gritted my teeth.

"It's fine,"

"Really? How about now?" She said. I was confused as to what she meant until I felt my shirt grow damp. Kim had nocked her drink from the tray and it had gone all over me. My shirt that was once white was now drenched in soda.

I clenched my fists. "What the hell is your problem?!"

"It was just an accident Violet calm down," she said fluttering here eyelashes. She turned her back on me and walked back to her table while laughing to herself.

It took every inch on self control I had to not jump on her. I could see a few people had turned to watch what happened and were now trying to suppress a grin, this made me even madder. I grabbed a handful of napkins and made my way back to the table.

Calum raised an eyebrow when he saw me. "What happened?" He asked.

"Kim happened," I said using the napkins dry myself off, not that it was making any difference. I sighed and placed my head on the table. There was no way I was getting the soda out of my shirt without washing it first and there was no way I could do that while still at school. I had no other choice but to stay in the sticky shirt.

When I pulled my head back up I could see Austin looking at me. I raised my eyebrow, had he been watching this whole time? I felt myself go red. Austin started to tug at his ear, I stared at him. I was covered in soda, I had bigger problems right now that couldn't be solved with making out in the janitors closet.

I shook my head at him but he pulled at his ear again. I sighed. "Guys I'm going to clean myself up a bit, I'll see you in a minute."

I saw Austin stand up and make his way out of the food hall, probably making his way to the janitors closet. Still rubbing at my shirt with the napkin I made my way to the closet. When I got there I was alone. Austin wasn't here. Where was he? He left before I did so shouldn't he have been here by now?

The door slowly began to open as Austin slipped inside. "Are you okay?" He asked.

"I'm fine,"

"I saw what she did," he said quietly.

"Yeah well I don't expect anything less of her," I growled.

"This is my fault," he said sighing deeply.

"No she's just phyco, seriously don't worry about it she hated me even before you,"

"Yeah but she's only going to get worse the more we do this,"

YEAH AUSTIN BUT WHAT IS 'THIS'?!!!

"I'm not scared of her," I smiled. This made him smile too.

"Oh yeah here," he said handing me a bag.

"What's this?" I asked.

He smirked at this. "I told you it would come in handy, don't worry I washed it last night, luckily."

I looked into the bag and saw the outfit I wore yesterday for rock climbing in it.

"I'll wait outside while you change," he said leaving the closet.

I quickly changed my outfit and threw my wet clothes into the plastic bag. I opened the door slightly and poked my head around it to tell Austin that I was ready. Looking around I couldn't see him, then out of the corner of my eye I saw 2 people. Austin had his back facing me and was talking to some girl. She was twirling her hair around her finger and giggling. He said something to her, leaning in close as he did so and she burst into laugher, running her fingers along his arm. I couldn't help the jealousy that bubbled inside of me. Guess I was right after all.

"Maybe we could get together sometime," I heard the girl giggle.

I didn't even wait for a reply, I knew what Austin's answer would be. Not wanting to stick around I slipped my out of the closet and walked the opposite direction of Austin, so he wouldn't see me. With a sigh I made my way back to the lunch hall.

"You had a change of clothes?" Robyn asked when I sat back down.

"Yeah they where in my car," I said expressionless. I was annoyed at myself for thinking that I could actually have something with Austin.

Without so much as a word Calum slid his plate of fries towards me. He knew that I hadn't eaten yet since Kim had knocked my food onto the floor. I thanked him and began to eat. Austin soon came back into the lunch hall. He locked eyes with me almost immediately and raised his eyebrow at me. I looked away, ignoring him. I wasn't going to be just another girl on his list.

The bell rang signalling lunch was over. I got up and made my way to English. Unfortunately Kim was in my class and I really wasn't in the mood to be dealing with her right now. She frowned when she saw me.

"So you found a change of clothes?"

"Yeah I did," I said nudging past her to get to my seat. After listening to miss talk about Shakespeare for 300 years the class finished and I was so thankful that I only had one class left. I walked to my Spanish class but before I could walk though the door my teacher stopped me.

"We are just doing some recapping today Violet so you are going to go into Miss Saunders's class," he said.

I sighed and turned around, making my way into the other class. I sat down in the seat where I sat last time. Austin came through the doors laughing at his two friends while holding a basketball in his hands, throwing and catching it in the air.

"Not in the classroom boys," Miss Saunders said taking the ball from him. His eyes found mine and he froze, only for a millisecond so nobody could tell, well nobody but me. He sat down in the seat in front of me and turned around to face me.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Fine," I answered bluntly.

Austin opened his mouth to speak but a boy stood in-between my desk and Austin's chair. The boy slapped Austin on his back playfully and pulled out the chair next to him which caused Austin to swivel around in the chair so he was facing the front again while having an engrossing conversation with the boy about basketball. Yawn.

When there was only 5 minutes left of the lesson, Miss Saunders told me to go back to my class. As soon as I stood up Austin's hand shot up.

"Miss can I go the toilet please?" He asked.

"Austin there's only 5 minutes left, can you not wait,"

"When you gotta go you gotta go miss,"

"Fine," she said waving him off.

Austin followed me out of the class but before I could reach my classroom Austin pulled at my arm sharply and led me around a corner.

"Have I done something wrong?" He asked.

"No, why on earth would you think that," I said crossing my arms over my chest.

"Because you've been off with me since lunch, is this because of what Kim did?"

"No,"

"Then what is it?!"

"What are we?" I blurted.

Austin looked shocked. "What?" He asked.

"I saw you with that girl today," I said not making eye contact.

"Ellie? She's just a friend,"

"She was all over you! You know what no! I can't do this,"

"Do what?" Austin said growing more confused by the minute.

"Whatever the hell this is," I said gesturing between us. "You just have too many flings Austin! You don't want to have a relationship and I don't want to just be one of your booty calls. I can't deny that I've had an amazing time with you but you aren't the type of guy that has a steady girlfriend. Let's just stop what's going on before someone gets hurt and just agree to be friends,"

"Nope, that's not gonna happen," he said mirroring me by crossing his arms over his chest.

"What?"

"I'm not just going to walk away and say 'let's just be friends', it's not going to happen,"

"Why?"

"Because I like you Violet! Isn't that obvious?"

"So what are we? I know I sound like a phyco obsessed girl right now, oh my god I sound like Kim!" I said placing my head into my hands.

Austin began to chuckle. "You don't sound like Kim trust me, and I honestly don't know what we are but I do know that I don't want to be just friends and I definitely don't want you to be a booty call."

I took a deep breath. "I'm sorry for going bat shit crazy,"

Austin threw his head back and laughed. "Don't worry about it, like I said last night, you're hot when your jealous." He's smirked before his lips found mine. "Come to my house after school," he said against my lips.

"You know I can't do that," I said pulling away.

"Calum has band practice, he won't be there,"

"And what about if someone sees my car or something?"

"Drive home first, I'll follow you and we can drop off your car. Then I can give you a ride to my house and a ride home,"

I thought about it. "Why do you want me to come?"

"Because I like spending time with you and like you I want to find out what this is," he gestured between the two of us.

The end of the day bell rang. "Okay, meet me at my house in 30 minutes," I said quickly before practically running out of the school and into my car.

When I got home I rushed inside and got into the shower as quickly as possible. After shampooing and conditioning my hair I dried it quickly and threw on some patterned shorts and a white tank top.

There was a knock at my door and sure enough when I opened it I was met with a smiling Austin. "I thought we could watch a movie or something so I got some snacks," he said nodding towards the bags in the back seat of his car.

When we got to Austin's house I awkwardly followed him inside. It was weird being here without Calum. I carefully perched myself on the edge of the sofa while Austin looked through the film collection. He laughed when he saw me.

"Why do you look so awkward? You've been here like a million times,"

"Yeah but always with Calum, being here with you makes me feel like I've never been here before," I giggled.

"Come on," Austin said standing up.

"Where are we going?"

"To my room," he said over his shoulder like it was nothing.

His room?!! Why couldn't we just stay down here where there wasn't a bed? I was about to protest but he was already making his way up the stairs.

"What do you want to watch?" I asked when I entered his room.

"You pick, I've narrowed it down to 3," he said handing me some DVDs. He had the wedding singer, happy Gilmore and the water boy.

"Big fan of Adam Sandler I see,"

"You can't go wrong with him, if someone doesn't like Adam Sandler then they simply aren't human,"

I smiled and put the wedding singer into his DVD player. When I turned around Austin was already sitting on the bed. I sat besides him, leaving enough room so that we wasn't too close together but also not too far apart.

"That's a really good choice," he laughed.

I was watching the movie when I felt a hand stroke against my thigh. Turning my head to face Austin, I caught the cheeky grin on his lips. He looked at me and batted his eyes innocently. He touched my thigh again.

"What are you doing?" I laughed.

"What do you mean?" He asked. "I'm not doing anything."

"Then who's hand is on my thigh? A ghost's?"

"I have heard that ghosts are attracted to hot girls," he said edging closer to me.

"Shouldn't you be watching the movie?"

"Are you telling me that there's nothing you would rather be doing than watching the movie," he said suggestively. Austin moved even closer so that his face was inches away from mine, just as his lips where about to meet mine I turned my head quickly to face the tv.

"Yep," I said popping the p.

Austin let out a deep chuckle before kissing my cheek, which might I add
