"You still owe that winning kiss," I heard from behind me as I got out of my car. I turned around to see Austin leaning against the hood of his Porsche.

"Stalking me now?" I asked raising my eyebrow.

Austin laughed. "I'm waiting for Liam." Liam was one of Austin's teammates.

"Well in that case don't let me keep you," I smiled locking my car door.

"Violet wait!" Austin called. I turned to face him. "I still need to take you out remember, that was the agreement you came the game and I took you out."

"I thought it was if I came the game you'd win,"

"Why must you be so difficult?" He smirked.

"The best ones are always the hardest to get," I laughed jokingly, flicking my hair over my shoulder like the sassy queen that I am.

"They most certainly are," he mumbled.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Calum's car drive into the parking lot. Without even saying bye to Austin I ran towards to where Calum normally parked, praying he hadn't saw who I was talking to.

"Hey," he smiled getting out his car. I let out a breath I didn't even realised I had been holding in. He hadn't saw.

"Hey," I said hopping onto the bonnet of his car. "We should do something,"

"Like?"

"I don't know, but we should. I still feel bad that you missed the concert." I sighed.

"I'll see if I can find another one," he smiled.

We walked into school together and I could feel Austin staring at me. Ignoring him I followed Calum to the lunch hall. We must have been later than usual because the bell went almost strait away. "I have Spanish," I sighed before walking off.

I took my seat at the back of the class and placed my head onto the desk. When sir began to ramble about the weather I closed my eyes. "Violet, may I speak with you for a moment?" Sir asked.

I lifted my head from the desk to see Mr Lewis sitting at his desk. Standing up, I made my way over. He gestured for me to sit down on the chair next to him so I did. He spoke in a hushed tone. "I do understand that you are at a much higher level than the rest of the class and you can get bored of my lessons,"

I didn't say anything, I just looked at my hands in my lap.

"But you have to understand Violet that although you're Spanish abilities are incredible, the rest of the class have the same ability of most children your age so I'm not going at a slower pace despite what you may believe, in fact sometimes I try and speed easy things up so that you have something to do."

I made eye contact. What could I say? 'Yeah you're right all your lessons bore me,' instead I remained quiet.

"I was thinking... Well me and Miss Saunders were talking and if it's okay with you, she suggested that you attend one of the seniors lessons once a week. The lessons would challenge you more and she is an amazing teacher, I'm sure that she could provide you with something that would be harder then the work you'd get in this class, I know it would still be easy for you but at least it would be harder than this class,"

"Really?" I asked, I would do anything to get out of this boring class even if it was only once a week.

"Yes, once a week instead of coming here you'd go next door, we decided only once a week so that you wouldn't get too far ahead on next years curriculum because then you'd just be bored next year."

I gave a sharp nod. Mr Lewis motioned for me to get my things and then ushered me out of the class room. He gave a quick knock on Miss Saunders door before opening it. "The pupil as we discussed," sir said before leaving me to fend for myself and returning to his own class.

Miss Saunders greeted me with a smile but at that moment I realised who's class I was in. My eyes scanned the room until I found him, he had his head resting on the table so he hadn't seen me come in. The boy sitting next to him took one glance at me and chuckled. I instantly felt myself go red, it was the boy that caught me and Austin at the basketball game. The boy elbowed Austin, he looked up and did a double take. No Austin you're eyes are not deceiving you it is the girl who follows you around like a lost puppy, in your class.

"You can take a seat at the back," Miss Saunders said pointing to the one empty desk which happened to be behind Austin.

"Stalking me now?" He asked, so quiet that only I could her as I walked past his desk.

"You wish," I mumbled in reply.

My phone buzzed in my pocket.

Calum:
I found a concert for tonight,
you game?
                                      Me:
                                      Of course!
Calum:
My house at 6

The lesson actually went well, obviously I didn't answer any questions despite Miss's many attempts to get me involved in the class discussions. At the end of the lesson when I was collecting my things Austin came besides me.

"So I'm think we could have that winning kiss tonight, I'll pick you up at 7?" He said.

"I'm sorry but I'm busy tonight," I said apologetically. Austin looked confused. "What's wrong?" I asked.

"It's just that doesn't normally happen,"

"What doesn't happen?"

"I don't get rejected,"

I laughed. "Well it'll be a nice change for you then,"

And with that I left the class room, leaving Austin behind me.

I got to Calum's house at 5:50. He opened the door with a smile as he usually did. I was used to it by now, despite the fact that I didn't go to Calum's house as much as he came to mine I still knew the routine. So like every other time I visited Calum, I went straight to his room and plonked myself on his bed.

"We should be ready to leave in like 20 minutes," he said.

"How did you find it on such short notice?" I asked, usually we know about concerts like a week in advance.

"It's not like a proper concert, it's just a band in a little club. Nothing major, I'm just going to get changed, I'll be two minutes," he grabbed a shirt from the top of his dressing table and made his way into the bathroom.

As I lied back onto Calum's bed and stared up at his ceiling my head started to throb. Not the 'I'm going to die, tell my mom I love her' headache, but the 'I really can't be assed going to a concert with stoned teenagers with this headache' headache.

When Calum came back into his room he pulled a face. "What's the matter with you?" He asked.

"I have a headache..." I mumbled rubbing my temple.

Calum sat besides me on the bed, pausing for several seconds. "I don't think that the band playing is that good tonight," he smiled. "Plus Netflix have just put lots of new movies on,"

I could tell that Calum actually did want to go to the concert, I gave him a big smile. He was actually too nice to be my friend, lets be honest I'm sort of a bitch. Calum on the other hand was the most genuine person I've ever met. "I owe you," I laughed.

"You owe me several things," he chuckled. "Starting with my 1975 hoodie you stole last week,"

"It was cold!" I protested.

"I know, I was a gentleman and borrowed you it, emphasises on the borrowed, not gave,"

"I will give you it back.... Eventually,"

"There should be some aspirin downstairs, I'll go and get it," he said getting up. I pulled at his arm to stop him.

"I'll get it, it's me that wants it after all."

"I'd be a dick if I made you go all the way downstairs to get aspirin for your headache, do you want anything else while I'm down there? I think I'm going to put a pizza in,"

"I'm good,"

And with that he made his way down stairs. I got up from Calum's bed and left his room, making my way to the bathroom because my bladder is the size of a peanut and unlike the rest of the population I didn't care about using the bathroom in other people's home. As I reached for the door nob the door swung open, I jumped back in shock, I thought that Calum and I were the only two home. I glanced up and god I wish I wouldn't have, I wish I would ran away when I heard the door open, or better yet have stayed in Calum's room in the first place. But no, instead I saw Austin swing open the bathroom door, wearing nothing but a towel.

He had beads of water dripping down his abdomen. I was speechless as I looked at his toned abs, yes I had seen him topless on Kim's 'throwback beach' pictures but seeing him in person was different. I gulped as I tried to meet his eyes but it was impossible so I looked down at the carpet.

I could hear Austin chuckle. "So you blew me off to hang out with my brother?" He asked cocking his head to the side.

"No I blew you off to hang out with my best friend," I managed to squeak.

"What's so interesting about my mom's carpet?" He asked with a laugh in his voice.

"What?"

"It's just that you're eyes are glued there, I was curious to know why you're looking at it rather then at me."

I knew there was nothing I could do at this point so I dragged my eyes up from the carpet, my brown eyes meeting his green ones. I gulped again as he began to laugh. Feeling my self go red I sighed, he was enjoying every minute of this! "Violet?" He asked. "Why do I get the feeling that you're finding it hard to meet my eyes?" He was trying to hold back his laughter, you could hear it in his voice.

"I don't know what you're talking about," I mumbled.

"So you're saying that it has nothing to do with the fact I'm wearing just a towel?" He stepped closer to me, smirking. What was he doing?! He glanced at my lips taking that final step so that we where inches apart. He leaned in to kiss me and just before his lips touched mine I heard a shout.

"Violet," Calum called. Acting on instinct I shoved Austin away from me, he had to grab his towel to stop it from falling down. Calum called again. "Violet what pizza do you want?" He shouted, oblivious as to what was happening up stairs.

"I don't mind, I'm not very hungry," I called back.

"Why does this happen every time I try and kiss you?" Austin muttered.

"What?" I whispered, remembering that Calum was downstairs.

"You push me away, like physically, every time I have tried to kiss you something has happened and you've pushed me away."

"Bad timing I guess," I smiled.

Austin smirked, running a hand through his wet hair. "When will it be good timing?"

"Good things come to those who wait," I said, and with that I turned my back on Austin and made my way back to Calum's room.

It wasn't long before Calum came back and joined me. "The pizza should take about 20 minutes," he told me. "What movie do you want to watch?" He handed me the remote and sat besides me on the bed.

"Let's watch something funny," I bit my lip as I flicked through the different movies available. "Can we watch who framed Rodger rabbit?" I asked, sticking out my bottom lip.

"Sure," he laughed.

With a victory smile on my face I kicked off my shoes, pulled back Calum's comforter and snuggled into his soft bed. I had a habit of doing this but Calum's bed was ridiculously comfortable, there had been several times where I had accidentally fallen asleep in it. Calum followed my lead and pulled the comforter over him too.

"How is the band going?" I asked as the opening credits rolled.

"It's good," was all he said.

"Come on!" I sighed dramatically.

"What?" He laughed.

"I am seriously getting sick of you being so mysterious and secretive, please let me come and see you guys play,"

"I'm sorry Violet but that's not gonna happen," he smirked.

"Why do you have a band if you're not going to perform?" I sulked.

"We are going to perform, just not yet."

"Well can I at least meet the band members who you spend nearly every day with?" I found myself asking the same question I had a few days ago, this time however I got a different answer.

He picked up a strand of my hair that had stayed loose from my messy bun and propped himself up on his side to face me. "Unfortunately I don't think I can keep you away from them forever." He paused, meeting my eyes and smiling slightly. He shook his head and chuckled. "They actually want to meet you just as much as you want to meet them."

"You talk about me?" I asked.

"Of course I do, you're.... You're my best friend."

"Do you tell them how much you love me and how I have the best taste of music and how you like me so much more than you like Robyn," I teased.

"Something like that,"

The movie acted as background music as we talked about music and school. "Will you please ask Lucas if he likes Robyn," I asked.

"I've told you a million times, I am not getting involved in whatever is going on between those two."

"You can't tell me that you don't see something between the two!"

"I admit they do act weird around each other but that's their business, I'm not getting involved."

"So you've said," I muttered. "Has Cheryl spoken to you lately?" I asked innocently.

"You mean since you turned into a bitch outside of biology?" He smirked. Picking up a pillow, I hit Calum in the face. He began to laugh. "She asked me if I wanted to go for pizza with her,"

"And are you going to go?" I asked.

"I'm undecided yet,"

"Why?"

"I'm not sure if I like her,"

"So? It's pizza, it's not a marriage proposal,"

He sat up a little. "You were telling me how fake she is last time you saw her,"

"I know but I thought about what you said, about wanting a girlfriend and everything and she likes you so why not go for it."

"I don't want HER to be my girlfriend!" He said frustrated.

"Then who do you want?" I asked. It was unusual for Calum to talk to me about girls, that was more of a him and Lucas thing.

"Violet I-"

I interrupted him. "Calum what is that smell?" I asked sniffing, it smelt like smoke.

"Shit the pizza!" Calum said jumping out of the bed and running downstairs. I was quick behind him. He grabbed an oven mitt and opened the oven door. Black smoke hit me in the face and I began to cough. Wafting the smoke out of my face I opened the window to let some air in. Once the smoke had cleared I was able to see the pizza. It was charcoal black and looked like it would break a brick wall. I began to laugh uncontrollably.

"Stop laughing," Calum told me but I could tell he was seconds from breaking his straight face. I was a little disappointed that the pizza was burnt, I had actually become quite hungry.

We were soon both laughing hysterically. "What happened?" A voice from behind us asked. I span around to see a confused looking Austin standing in the doorway.

"I burnt the pizza," Calum mumbled.

"Do you want me to call a takeout?" Austin asked.

"No that's okay, we're going out for pizza," I said pulling out my car keys from my back pocket.

"We are?" Calum asked raising an eyebrow.

"I'm hungry and Alessandro's doesn't deliver," Alessandro's was a little pizza place that I had been going to since I was a kid. It was my favourite. I walked past Austin and ran to get my shoes from Calum's room. I slumped on the bed as I laced up my converse.

"Alessandro's?" Austin asked coming into Calum's room.

I shrugged. "What can I say, it's my favourite,"

"What are you doing tomorrow?" He asked.

"I'm not doing anything, why?"

"I'm taking you on a date. Be ready for 6," he smiled leaving the room.

I laughed and shook my head making my way down to Calum who was once again oblivious to what had just happened. "Why are you red?" He asked.

I pressed my hands to my cheek and sure enough I was blushing. "Walking down the stairs was too much exercise," I lied.

Calum looked at me skeptically but followed me out the the car never the less. Alessandro's was a good 20 minute drive which gave me plenty of time to sing at the top of my lungs in the car. After 10 minutes of my horrific singing Calum turned the radio down.

"Why do you do that?" He laughed.

"Do what?" I asked concentrating on the road.

"Sing terribly,"

"We can't all be good singers in a band like you Calum," I stuck out my tongue.

"That's the thing, you can actually sing when you try,"

"I can sing? In that case can I be in the band?"

"Shut up," he chuckled turning up the radio again, this time however he sang along with me.

We soon arrived at Alessandro's and ordered a large pizza between us. I choose a booth in the corner by a window.

"So has Robyn picked a concert yet?" I questioned.

"No not yet, I have a feeling she's waiting for the perfect one. The one I'd hate the most,"

I paused. "Why did you say you'd go with her?" I asked taking a bite of my pizza slice.

"You were there, it was so she'd go the concert with you."

"No I mean why did you do it, you didn't have to. I could have just not have gone the concert," 'and not have met Austin' I added in my head.

Calum looked at me hard, his eyebrows knitted together in thought. "You love concerts, they make you happy and I like it when you're happy," he finally answered, shrugging.

"Calum?! Is that you?" I heard a voice behind me say. I turned my head around to see a very exited looking Cheryl.

"Hi Cheryl," Calum smiled.

"I saw you and I thought I'd come say hi,"

"Well now you've said hi," I muttered under my breath. Calum kicked me under the table but Cheryl didn't seem to notice as she parked her ass next to me.

"I was thinking, since we are both out we could do something, like when I suggested pizza" she said completely ignoring me.

"I'd love to but I've already eaten,"

"Oh that's okay we can just grab a coffee," she smiled.

"Unfortunately I didn't bring my car, Violet's my ride," he said nodding at me.

Cheryl turned her head to look at me. Finally addressing me for the first time since she'd sat down besides me, she smiled. "I'll drop you home later Calum don't worry, that's okay with you Violet right?"

I glanced at Calum. His face was emotionless, yet I had the feeling he really wanted an answer from me, what answer he wanted I wasn't sure of.

"Sure that's fine," I said glancing back at Calum out of the corner of my eye, he looked a little disappointed.

"Great news! Well I'll see you later," Cheryl said standing up so I could get out of the booth. I glared at her, I hadn't even finished my pizza and she was already kicking me out.

I got up and made my way out of the pizza shop, saying goodbye to Calum first. As I opened the door I could feel anger bubble up inside me but I was clueless as to why. I mean it wasn't like it was jealous, was it?
