"Why do we never go to the schools basketball games?" I asked Robyn as we shared a tub of Ben and Jerry's ice cream.

"You never wanted to go,"

"I have never said I wouldn't go!"

"You know me, would I really be the one to say no to hot boys running around a basketball court?"

"Okay, so maybe it was me who didn't want to go,"

"Why'd you ask?"

"Well my mind is sort of changing,"

"Changing?"

"Yeah, I though it might be fun."

"What has changed your mind?"

"Nothing,"

"And does nothing go by the name of Austin Hendrix?" She smiled wiggling her eyebrows.

"Maybe....."

"Do tell!" She said practically jumping on top of me.

"There's nothing to tell, he just suggested that I go along to one of the games."

"Oh M gee he's inviting you to his games? You're just like Khloè Kardashian and Lamar, but like without the cheating aspect,"

"Robyn you're doing it again," I sighed.

"Doing want,"

"Planning ahead of yourself like your life is a fairy tale,"

"Shut up, we need to focus on what you're going to wear we only have 2 days to plan!"

"Yes fairy god mother," I mumbled.

"What are you going to tell Calum about your sudden interest in the Bulldogs?" she asked. Bulldogs was the name of the school team.

"I'm not, and neither are you we're just going to go to the next game and not mention it,"

"What is the big deal, I mean he won't even care."

"We both know that's not true, he complained for a week when you parked next to Austin last year so you could take a picture with his car while he was in class," I laughed. "Besides, why would I worry Calum over nothing I mean we've been on one date."

"I thought you said it wasn't a date," she smirked at me before continuing. "Must have been one hell of a date if he's asking you to become his own personal cheerleader, are you going to take one of the uniforms to use later in the bedroom?" She teased.

"You are sick!"

"No sweetie I'm realistic, he's into you and I can promise you now that you would have him eating out of the palm of your hand if you threw on one of the cheerleading uniforms!"

"Better yet, why don't we just get it on in the boys changing room after the game,"

"Now you're talking!"

"I was kidding! Seriously the boys changing room? I could think or more romantic places for my first time."

Robyn laughed. "You're such a prude!"

"You've already told me that," I smiled.

***

"Do you guys want to do something tomorrow?" Calum asked taking a bite of his burger.

I glanced down, I still hadn't told Calum about the game. "Actually we have plans," I mumbled.

"Plans? Without me? Do tell,"

"We're going to the game," Violet smiled. I shot her a glare.

"Why are you going to that?" He asked confused.

"Robyn has a crush on one of the players," I lied.

Calum sighed. "Please don't say that it's my brother,"

"For once it's not," she smiled sarcastically. "But speaking of Austin..."

Calum stood up at the mention of his brothers name. "I've got anywhere else to be," he said before walking over to Lucas.

"Stop that!"

"Stop what?" She asked innocently.

"Stop tormenting him!"

"Oh please if I was tormenting him he'd know about it, this is just simple teasing."

I sighed as Robyn stood up and went to get some food. What made me straighten up however, was the person who was standing behind her in the line. Austin. I narrowed my eyes as I tried to make out what they were saying. No luck.

"What was that about?" I asked when she sat back down with her fruit salad.

"It's a queue, you use it and wait for your turn to be served."

"Don't play stupid, what was that with Austin?"

"Oh that? He just wanted to know if the food here was good."

"Robyn this isn't a 5 star restaurant, it's a school cafeteria that he has been using for 2 years, I think he would know what the food was like by now. What were you guys actually talking about?"

"I've already told you! We were talking about the food! Now come on I don't want to be late for gym class." She mumbled getting to her feet, taking her fruit salad with her.

"Gym class? Do I need to call an exorcist? Have you been possessed by an evil spirt? You hate gym! Not once in your life have you ever been on time for it."

"Just move your ass Violet," she said pulling me to my feet.

We started making our way to gym but instead of turning left through the English block, past the girls toilets and then to the sports hall she pulled me right. "Robyn, gym is that way, why are you taking me the long way?" I asked. Instead of answering my question like a normal person would, she continued to walk. We walked past math and past the boys toilets. "Robyn, seriously we're going to be late." I complained. Without me noticing, a hand emerged from a janitor's closet and sharply pulled me inside, shutting the door behind me. I was about to scream until the hand placed itself over my mouth to quieten me. With the other hand, the deranged lunatic flickered on the light switch. I made eye contact with my kidnapper, he did one of his smiles that made you want to melt, his cheekier smile.

"Missed me?" He laughed.

"Was that necessary Austin?" I asked catching my breath.

"Well, you're so hell bent on not letting Calum know about us that I had to resort to desperate measures."

"Us?" I questioned. "There is no us, we've been on one date."

"Give a guy a chance to ask you out again Violet, anyway are you coming to my game tomorrow?"

"You gave me a heart attack just to ask me that?!"

"Yes I did, well?"

"I haven't decided yet," I lied. Truthfully I had decided, I decided the moment he asked me.

"Come, then afterwards I can take you out?"

"Don't you guys have a tradition that if you win, the whole team goes out for pizza?"

"We do," he nodded.

"So therefore you can't take me out,"

"Well in that case I guess I'll just have to throw the game so I can take you out."

"I'm sure the team would be pleased," I said sarcastically.

"You better be there," he smiled.

"I'll see what my diary is like,"

"Why are you playing hard to get?" He chuckled.

"Maybe you're not used to a challenge. You're used to girls throwing themselves at you, how does it feel to have to work for a girl?" I asked.

He lent in close, his lips inches away from mine. He paused, moved to the side so he was close to my ear, his cheek brushing against my own. "I'll see you at the game," he whispered.

That was it! All he had to say was 6 words and my knees turned to jelly. He was too much. I left the room quickly and practically ran down the hall, Robyn trying to keep up with me.

"So?" She asked.

"I'm going to faint,"

"Same, I need an excuse to get out of gym class,"

***

"Quiet everybody, quiet!" Mr Kay tried. It was Wednesday morning which meant that it is was assembly. On the first assembly of every month, the juniors and the seniors had assembly together. And guess what day today was, that's right the first Wednesday of the month. I was sat at the very back with Robyn. Calum and Lucas sitting directly in front of us. I placed my feet either side of Calum so they rested on the bench like I always did. Calum looked down at my feet and without saying a word began to tie my lace that had just come undone. "I said quiet!" Mr Kay said again, this time however people listened.

"That's better," he continued. "This will only be a quick assembly, there's only a few things that need to be discussed. First of all Mrs Farley has asked me to remind you all that this years school play is grease and she would like as many people as possible to audition, auditions will be held in 2 months."

I scoffed. Grease? How original. The whole drama click began to squirm uncontrollably, at first glance you'd think they had worms.

"I would like to remind all seniors that it is essential that you attend at least 1 revision class a week. And finally I would like to give a huge good luck to our Bulldogs who will be playing tonight. If they win this game then they will only be two wins away from breaking the record for most consecutive wins in the schools history." Mr Kay beamed. The crowd began to cheer, mostly towards Austin.

We all filed out of assembly. "Are you still coming to the game?" Robyn asked me quietly. Calum had already started to make his way to lesson with Lucas.

"Hold that thought," I said. Austin was getting something out of his locker and he was alone which is very uncommon. I walked over to him and started to take a sip from the water fountain next to him. I could hear him chuckle as I pretended like I didn't see him. "You have to win," I mumbled avoiding eye contact.

"If you come then I will think about winning," he smiled, I could tell that he liked having something over on me. It wasn't like I loved our schools basketball team or anything, but there was a lot of people on the team who really wanted this. For me high school was just high school, it was something that I had to do but it wasn't 'the best years of my life'. For a lot of people on the team however, high school was going to be the best years of their life and having set a record would have meant a lot for them.

"You're an ass," I laughed before walking back to Robyn.

"What was that about?" She asked.

"Just telling him that he has to win," I laughed walking away.

"So the plan is as followed, after school we go to my house where we will get ready and then you will drive us to the game where we will find seats and support your boyfriend,"

"He's not my boyfriend," I said correcting her.

"It's only a matter of time." Was all she said. We made our separate ways I was in history while Robyn was in geography which was rather ironic that she took that class since she couldn't name more that 10 states.

We regrouped at lunch. "So remind me again why you two are going to the game tonight?" Lucas asked.

"Go Bullfrogs and all that, gotta support the team." Robyn said.

I let out a huge sigh, mentally cursing.

"Don't you mean Bulldogs?" Lucas asked, barley being able to control his laughter.

Robyn thought for a minute, you could almost see the wheels in her head turning. "Frogs, dogs they're all the same thing."

"What's the real reason you're going," Lucas asked with a smirk, leaning forward on his chair. Me and Calum exchanged a knowing glance, Lucas was very much in love with Robyn, at least that was our theory. The fact that Robyn was boy mad didn't help either, as much as he tried to hide it I could always sense a tiny bit of jealousy, but that was just my theory. "Have you got you're eye on yet another boy?" He enjoyed teasing her.

"Yes," she said bluntly.

Lucas lost his smirk and took a deep breath. "I'd say I'm surprised but that would be a lie," he muttered. This was then followed by some awkward tension.

"So what do you guys have planned for tonight," I said trying to break the awkwardness.

"Well I wanted to go see a movie or something but Calum has other plans," Lucas said begrudgingly.

"I have band practice, which is more important than sitting in a movie theatre with you while couples make out on the back row."

"You and your god damn band practice! Seriously dude are you even any good?"

"Lucas!" I exclaimed. How could he be so rude.

"It's okay Violet," Calum said giving my arm a reassuring squeeze. "You listen to David Guetta everyday so clearly you don't know much about good music," Calum said to Lucas.

Lucas's face scrunched up as he thought of something to say. Admitting defeat he rested his head on the table.

"Awwww is the little baby sad?" I laughed.

Lucas shot a glare at me. Lucas wasn't all that fond of me, he barley let it show but sometimes I'd catch glares or he would make a sarcastic comment or a dig at me. It was such tiny signs so nobody believed me. Occasionally Calum would catch him and tell him off but most of the time it went unnoticed.

"Well I hate to break up the party but Violet and I have to go to biology," Calum said standing up. I followed him.

"He was doing it again," I said after we had left the food hall.

"No he wasn't, you're so paranoid Violet."

"Calum he doesn't like me! How can you not see it! It's right in front of your eyes,"

"You're a fine one to talk about not seeing things right in front of your eyes," he mumbled walking faster.

"What does that mean?"

"It doesn't mean anything Violet, you're just being silly about Lucas. If he didn't like you then he wouldn't sit on the table every other lunch."

I was about to make a comment when I was suddenly shoved back. "Hey Calum," the blonde who nudged me out the way said.

"Hi Cheryl," Calum mumbled. I glared at Cheryl, she was as fake as Barbie and so up Calum's ass I was surprised she wasn't stuck. She had the biggest crush on him and took every opportunity to talk to him.

"So I was thinking," she said twirling her fingers around her hair. "Since you have a band and everything, I could come along to one of your gigs."

I shot her an even bigger glare. The bitch needed to back away before I grabbed her fake ass extensions and set them on fire. Who did she think she was? I hadn't even seen him play and I was his best friend. If Barbie wanted to hear them play then she could get in line.

"Well, we haven't done a gig yet," Calum laughed.

Cheryl joined him, putting on a laugh that was as fake as her eyelashes. "How about I come to one of your rehearsals then, maybe you could even teach me how to play something." She said seductively running her hand along Calum's arm.

I gritted my teeth together. "I'm sorry Cheryl but we're going to be late for biology so we better get going." I grabbed Calum and pulled him behind me.

"What was that about?" He asked once she was out of sight.

"I know she's so weird!"

He shuck his head. "Not her you,"

"What are you talking about?"

"You were rude to her,"

"I wasn't, Barbie was just in my way and we were going to be late." I said trying to pull him towards science.

He wouldn't budge. "There, you're doing it again, you're being rude."

"No I'm not but come on Calum she is so annoying."

"I think she's cute," he said raising an eyebrow at me.

"You're kidding right?" I asked, completely shocked. "The girl is as fake as Kim Kardasion,"

"Stop!" He said in an almost shout. "Seriously why are you so rude to her? Is it because she likes me? If it is you seriously need to get a grip! I know I'm your friend and everything Violet but that doesn't mean that I'm just yours when you need me, believe it or not I actually would like to have a girlfriend eventually!" And with that he walked away and into biology.

I stared after him in shock, what the hell was that about?

***

"Okay so we don't want you to look over dressed but we also don't want you to look underdressed," Robyn said pacing her room.

"Can't I just wear what I have on?" I asked glancing down at blue jeans and grey jumper.

"No!" She exclaimed. "Okay I think I've got it, we want you to look hot but in a way that doesn't make you look like you're making too much of an effort so I think this," she said passing me blue shorts, a white top that just fell short of my belly button and a flannel to go over it. I raised my eyebrow at the outfit.

"Since when did you own flannels?" I asked skeptically, flannels were not Robyn's style.

"It's yours, you lent it to me when I slept over," she said applying a fresh coat of lip gloss.

I got changed. "What would you do if he actually asked me out?" I laughed.

"Obviously I'd be insanely jealous, but then I'd be so happy because then I could take pictures of you two all the time and put them on your Instagram. I'd tag Kim in them." She smiled deviously. "Oh and I'd get you to hook me up with one of his hot friends,"

"Somehow I don't think you need me for that," I giggled.

She threw a pillow at me before giggling herself. "Come on, we better get going. We don't want to miss your boyfriend score a touchdown."

I shook my head. "Don't talk to anyone while we're there."

We got into my car and as planned I drove back to school. "Kim will most definitely be here," Robyn practically growled.

"Yep and she'll be on the front row with a big ass banner," I joked. Well only half joked, at games Kim sits so close she might as well be on the court. "Actually I need to pee," I said as we pulled into the parking lot. "Go and save me a seat but make sure it isn't near the front," I warned.

"Will do," she said as we made our separate ways, her to the sports hall and me to the little lady's room.

I walked as fast as I could in fear that I would actually wet myself. "You came!" I heard a voice say. I turned around to see a happy looking Austin in his basketball uniform.

"I came," I smiled.

Austin looked around before pulling me around one of the corners to a deserted hallway. "I wasn't sure if you'd come." He chuckled. "You're sort of hard to read."

"Well yeah I had a cancellation in my diary so I could just about squeeze this in," I teased.

"Shut up." He laughed. He glanced down at my lips. Suddenly he stopped laughing and smirked. "How about a kiss for good luck?"

I paused, hoping that he couldn't hear my heart beating out of my chest. I tried my best to put on a seductive voice. "How about, you can get a kiss if you win."

He smiled. "It better be one hell of a kiss," Was all he said before making his way back to the boys locker room.

I stood frozen for a minute, then I remembered that my bladder was as full fat aunt Sarah's plate at an all you can eat restaurant. Clutching my stomach I ran into the toilet. After I was done I made my way to the sports hall to find Robyn. She had saved me a space about 6 rows back.

"What took you so long?" She asked.

"Don't even ask," I laughed. Within 5 minutes the cheerleaders came out and started getting the crowd to cheer. This was soon followed by the entrance of the opposing team the 'groundhogs' and finally the Bulldogs made their way onto the court, being lead by Austin.

The crowd exploded in cheers and began to chant Austin's name. He gathered his team together and gave what looked like a pep talk. The team then took their positions. Austin looked towards the crowd, his eyes skimming all the people who had come to support him then he saw me. He held my gaze and nodded slightly. The whistle blew and the game started.

I can actually say that I never knew Austin was THAT good of a basketball player. Everyone passed to him and he never missed one shot. I stared at him, mouth open, as he ran from one end of the court to the other, dribbling the ball at an amazing speed. Just two points separated the Bulldogs and groundhogs and with only 1 minute left it was safe to say that everyone was on the edge of their seats. Even Robyn was quiet, her eyes glued on the court.

Austin got the ball, he looked over at me and smirked, I raised my eyebrow confused as to why he was looking at me and not trying to shoot. He began running towards the net and then the most amazing thing happened. He did a backflip, an actual backflip before
