Authors note: OMG I am so so sorry about the wait. I didn't even realise it had been this long. I promise there won't be as much of a wait for the next chapter.

Barely opening my eyes, I let out a loud groan. Pain instantly rushed to my head, only making me groan again. What the hell happened last night?? The last thing I remembered was the fight with Kim and then nothing. Seriously how can your mind go completely blank? I took in my surroundings noticing that I was in my room. Well thank god for that! But how the hell did I get home? Oh my god I bet I embarrassed myself last night.

My body ached as I pulled myself from my bed. This was the most hungover I had ever been in my entire life. I began to shuffle my way to the bathroom, my comforter wrapped tightly around me. Suddenly, my foot connected with something on the floor. Being the graceful swan that I am, I tumbled and fell on top of what ever was on the floor. The object beneath me let out a huge groan. I froze, what on earth in my room would make that noise?

"What the hell?" A very tired sounding Austin asked rubbing his eyes.

"Oh my god what are you doing here?" I said a bit too loud which made my headache even worse. "Oww my head,"

"You got drunk last night and I didn't want to leave you alone," he mumbled sitting up from the floor. There was a thin blanket wrapped around him and he had taken a pillow from my bed to rest his head on.

"Oh god," I complained covering my face with my hands. "Wait, why are you asleep on my floor?"

Austin let out a sigh, trying to avoid my eye contact. "There was a little situation...."

"Go on..." I pressed cautiously.

"You sort of triedtosleepwithme," he said rushing the last bit.

I felt my face pale of colour. No no no no no. I was praying to God I was still drunk and was hearing things. "W-what?"

"Look Violet it doesn't matter you were drunk," he said quickly standing up.

"Oh my god, this is so embarrassing, no I can't," I said trying to bolt out of the room.

Austin grabbed my wrist. "Wait Violet, just hear me out. You had a rough night and a little too much to drink. Seriously please don't worry about it,"

"You literally had to sleep on the floor to get away from me and protect yourself,"

Austin chuckled. "God no you've got it all wrong. The reason I slept on the floor wasn't to protect me, it was to protect you. I don't take advantage of girls and anything we would have done would have been taking advantage of you. I slept on the floor to stop myself from doing anything I would regret,"

I smiled at him, relieved. Then I was once again met with the pain of somebody smacking 10 hammers into my head repeatedly. Placing my hand against my throbbing forehead I winced.

"Has somebody got a little bit of a hangover?" Austin teased. Flipping him off, I sat on the edge of my bed and rubbed my head hoping this pain would soon stop.

"What time is it?" I mumbled.

Austin reached behind him and pulled out hie phone from the back pocket of his jeans. "7:15,"

"Oh my god, I cannot go to school like this." I wined.

"Go get a shower," he said lightly pushing me in the direction of the bathroom. I nodded at his request as I heard the beautiful melody of my shower calling my name. As soon as I locked the door I practically ripped the clothes off of my body and jumped into the shower. The hot water running down my body and relaxing all of my muscles.

Once I had finished my shower I wrapped a towel tightly around myself and went to brush my teeth. God I must have looked and smelt awful this morning. Grimacing at the thought of Austin seeing me look such a mess I ran a comb through my wet, tangled hair.

It was that minute I realised I hadn't brought any clothes with me into the bathroom. Glancing at the outfit I had worn the previous night in disgust I shook my head. There was no way I could put that on again, I could smell the spilt alcohol on it from where I was standing. Closing my eyes, I wrapped the towel even tighter around my body and slowly unlocked the door, praying Austin was anywhere besides my bedroom.

But of course nothing ever goes the way I want it to. When I entered my room Austin was sitting on my bed. He took one look at me and his eyes darkened.

"Violet you're really making this hard for me,"

I turned a shade of scarlet and looked down at my feet. Letting out an awkward laugh, I pulled the towel even tighter around me. "I forgot to bring clothes with me," I barley mumbled.

Austin lightly pulled my chin up so that I looked him in the eyes. When did he move from the bed? My heart skipped a beat at the way he was looking at me. He looked at me with so much desire and lust. I gulped.

Before I could say anything, Austin's lips were on mine. He wrapped his arms around me so they rested on my butt. Austin lightly squeezed by butt which made me gasp, giving him a perfect opportunity for him to slip his tongue into my mouth.

"Austin," I panted. "We should stop, under this towel I am very naked,"

Austin groaned and fell back onto my bed. "Don't remind me,"

I placed a kiss on his forehead before quickly grabbing some clothes and making my way back into the bathroom.

"Austin, I really can't go to school. If I hear one bell ring I swear to god I'll collapse on the ground and will most probably start crying,"

Austin chuckled at how over dramatic I was being. "So I guess you're going to skip. Are you just going to tell your mom you're sick? She'll be back soon won't she?"

"My mother is a nurse, there is no chance in hell I can ever fool her into believing my hangover is anything but a hangover. She's back in an hour," I groaned.

"How's the head?"

"I feel like there are a dozen elephants in my head doing the cha cha slide,"

Austin threw his head back in laughter. "Well I guess I have no choice then. I'll just have to look after you all day. Grab your jacket,"

"Why? Where are we going,"

"Well since your house is out of the question, we'll just have to go to my house,"

"Don't you have a game today? I'm pretty sure your coach would have an aneurysm if you don't show up,"

"I'll text Charlie and tell him to tell everyone I have a family emergency but I'll be back in school for the game. That should give you enough time to recover and we can both go to the game,"

"Okay but just so you know I don't think this headache will ever go away so I doubt I'll be much support."

He placed a light kiss on the top of my head. "Just you being there is enough, even if you will be throwing up in a corner,"

Austin slipped his hand into mine and led me downstairs. Grabbing by school bag so my mom wouldn't get suspicious, I hopped into Austin's car and pressed my head against the window. I am never drinking again! Ever! How much did I embarrass myself? I mean there was a lot of people there. I needed to do some damage control. The last time I got drunk I pulled a girl I hardly spoke to in my life to the side and told her how beautiful she was in her Instagram pictures, told her I was a 'huge supporter who liked every picture' and hugged her for 5 minutes without letting go.

It was safe to say I've avoided her ever since.

"Okay, I don't think I actually want to know but how bad was I last night?" I asked. "I mean what was the worst thing I did?"

Austin chuckled. "You didn't do anything, you danced with me for half an hour, twirling around and looking all cute. Then Charlie came over and you said hi, then I wanted to take you home but you said you wanted to be Hannah Montana and get the party to dance to the hoedown throwdown,"

"And you didn't let me?! That was not a drunk idea, that was a great idea! I bet 90% of the girls there would have freaked out and danced along,"

"Okay next time I won't stop you from being a disney channel star,"

I smiled smugly. "That's all I ask,"

"So what do you want to do at my house?"

"Sleep for a thousand years," I groaned. "Seriously this is the worst hangover I have ever had, please just kill me now and put me out of my misery,"

"Well to be completely honest I was thinking along the lines of watch a movie but I'm down for sleeping for a thousand years and then killing each other, if that doesn't scream fun then I don't know what does,"

"My brain hurts enough without your sarcasm,"

"You love it really,"

I pulled out my phone and began typing.

"What are you doing?" Austin asked taking his eyes of the road for a second to look at me.

"Googeling how to cure a hangover, apparently I have to eat 12 lemons and drink 3 bottles of mustard... yeah that's a stupid website,"

Austin chuckled. "You just have to drink lots of water, lots and lots of water,"

"I'll drink so much I'll pee myself if it gets rid of this hangover from hell,"

"Not in my bed you won't," We pulled into Austin's drive. "Go straight up to my room, I'm gonna grab some bottles of water. I'll be up in a minute,"

It still felt strange coming to Calum's house when Calum wasn't here. It almost didn't feel like the same house. As I walked past Calum's room to get to Austin's I paused. Normally I'd walk straight into Calum's room and flop onto his bed, acting like I owned the place, and Calum would always shake his head and roll his eyes at me. I sat down onto Austin's bed. Would it always feel awkward with Calum, when it came to Austin that is. I mean I could tell there was still a little bit of Calum that felt uncomfortable but he hadn't been acting weird with me.

"Hey," Austin said handing me some water.

"Do you think Calum will ever be okay with this, like do you think in the future we could all sit in the same room without wanting to kill ourselves?"

Austin sighed. "This is weird for him but he's trying. He's not avoiding you anymore but it'll take some time for him to get used to everything. It'll be okay don't worry he just needs a little time," he said kissing the top of my head. "Just a little time,"

***

"Violet wake up,"

"Why?" I whined.

"Because the game starts in 2 hours and we need to start getting ready," he said shoving me because I had started to fall asleep again.

"I fell asleep?" I yawned closing my eyes again.

"Yeah, you drool in your sleep,"

I shot out of the bed. "Do not!"

Austin chuckled. "I knew that would wake you up,"

"You're evil,"

He rolled his eyes at me. "I'm going to grab a shower,"

"Good you stink,"

Austin gasped and dramatically placed his hand over his heart. This earned an eye roll from me which got a chuckle from him. "Wanna join me?" He asked wiggling his eyebrows. I picked up the pillow besides me and threw it at him. He put his hands up in defeat. "I was kidding, well actually I am getting a shower now so entertain yourself for 10 minutes,"

I lied back onto Austin's bed and looked up at the ceiling. I knew he was only kidding about joining him in the shower but it got me thinking. The truth was I was probably going to give Austin my virginity. I still didn't feel ready but Austin made me feel safe, safer than what Brandon did. I had a feeling that it wouldn't be long before I was ready. The thought of it scared me a little bit. I had very strong feelings for Austin. I didn't love him, I mean I had only just started dating him but I couldn't describe the butterflies I got whenever he walked into a room. And of course then I began to overthink. Austin had had sex before, a lot of sex actually, and me? I was more innocent than a nun. What if I'm bad at it? What if it's that awful he breaks up with me? Do I have to ... touch it? How do I even start? Is there anything I should know? Will it hurt? I sighed. Robyn had had sex, she'd be able to answer my questions but the strange thing was I didn't want to tell her. It just felt too personal. Don't get me wrong, she was my best friend and if I did sleep with Austin she'd be the first person I'd tell but discussing how to do it seemed like an awkward conversation I'd rather pass on. Besides I told Robyn she'd only get all excitable and freak out, then ask me every second of everyday if I had done it yet.

"Hey, what's wrong with you?" Austin said coming back into the room after his shower. Unlike me he had remembered to bring clothes into the bathroom with him.

"Nothing,"

"Violet, I can tell by that look on your face that something is wrong now tell me what,"

"It's nothing, really," I said shaking my head quickly.

"Violet," He pressed.

"It's just... I was thinking about us,"

Austin's face fell. "That doesn't sound good,"

"No no no it's nothing like that, it's just I was thinking about us being ... together,"

"I have no idea what you're talking about,"

I could feel myself getting redder by the second. "Don't make me say it,"

"Violet you're going to have to say it, I have no clue what you're trying to tell me,"

"Sex!" I exploded.

I clamped my hand over my mouth. Well that was definitely not how I had expected to tell him.

Austin looked taken aback from my outburst and squirmed uncomfortably. Wait did this make him feel awkward?

"Okayyyyy... what about it?" He asked cautiously.

I threw my head into my hands. "Nothing really,"

"Violet you can tell me,"

"This is embarrassing, I was just thinking about what would... well what would happen when I'm ready for... you know,"

Austin scratched the back of his head. "Well once you know you are definitely definitely ready, you'd tell me and we'd take it from there,"

I nodded slowly.

Austin cleared his throat. "I know how awkward you feel right now but I know you have questions so since we're already talking about it why don't you ask me all your questions and we'll get all the awkwardness out at once,"

I paused, I don't think I could go through this again. My blood pressure wouldn't be able to take it. But he was right, I did have questions, questions that I couldn't ask Robyn. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. "Will it hurt?"

Austin avoided eye contact, almost as if he knew I was going to ask this question. "It might the first time, you might feel a little uncomfortable at first and there might be a little blood but I promise it'll get better, and we'd take it slow so it would hurt less,"

"What if I'm bad at it, like so bad you want to break up with me?"

Austin pulled away from me slightly, a look of pain and hurt spreading across his face. "Is that what you think of me? That I'd dump you like that? Are you kidding me right now violet?"

"Please don't get angry at me, I didn't mean it like that, it's just that you've slept with a lot of girls so..."

"Violet don't even think about that, forget about that question, I won't break up with you over that. I'm not a complete asshole,"

"How will I know... when I'm ready?" I asked quietly. Austin chuckled lightly.

"You'll know,"

"Okay last one, how do we start it? Like would I have to buy... protection?"

"When you're ready I'll sort all that stuff out don't worry, but when you are ready I'll tell you what I'd do," he said moving so he was hovering on top of me.

"What would you do?" I barley whispered due to our closeness.

"Well... first I'd kiss you like this," he said kissing my lips, his tongue slipping into my mouth. "Then I'd kiss down your neck like this," he kissed down my neck leaving a trail of burning skin as he moved. "Then I'd move my hand down your body like this,"

His phone began to ring, stopping his actions. He groaned and reached for his phone while I tried to catch my breath.

"Hello?"

I could hear Charlie down the phone. "Hey you better get here in like 3 seconds before the coach pulls out his hair, and you've seen him, he's barley got any hair as it is,"

"I'll be there in like 30 minutes," He said ending the call and throwing his phone to the side. "Now where were we?" He asked licking his bottom lip.

I pushed his chest. "We were just about to get ready for the game,"

"You will be the death of me Violet Benson,"

"We need to go back to my house so I can get ready,"

Austin pulled a puzzled look. "But you're dressed,"

"Yeah but I need to get my makeup,"

"No you don't, you look fine! We're not going all the way to your house to get makeup when you look fine,"

"I am not going into school makeup-less with a hangover looking like something from night of the living dead!"

Austin cocked his head to the side, challenging me. Only one of us could win this. The question was, who would it be?

***

"Be quick, just run in, get your makeup bag and run out," Austin grumbled pulling up to my house.

I gave him a cheesy smile. "Don't complain I could have insisted I do my makeup at home, I'm doing my makeup in school for you,"

Austin rolled his eyes. "Aren't I lucky,"

I got out of his car and walked inside my house.

"How was your day at school?" Mom asked from the kitchen.

I bit my lip looking around nervously. It was a good job she couldn't see me because right now I definitely looked guilty. "It was fine, I'm just grabbing something from my room then going back to school with Austin, he has a basketball game,"

"Wish him luck from me,"

As quickly as I could I ran to my room and grabbed my makeup bag. "I'll see you later mom," I called as I left the house.

"You ready?" Austin asked.

"Yep, are you nervous,"

Austin gave me a cockney grin. "Why would I be nervous? We're gonna win,"

I snorted. "You should be more confident, really I don't think you have enough faith in yourself," I said sarcastically.

When we got into school Austin interlocked his hand with mine. "I'm gonna go straight to the sports hall, come there after you're done with your makeup," he said placing a light kiss on my lips before jogging off.

I made my way to the girls toilets and began to do my makeup. I pulled out my phone and dialled Robyn's number, placing my phone on speaker and putting it on the side.

"Helloooo," she said down the line.

"Are you coming to the game later?"

"Nope, I have a date,"

"What? You're leaving me on my own?"

"You won't be on your own, you'll be a basketball girlfriend, cheering on Austin,"

"Yeah on my own,"

"Don't be a baby, and make sure you're not wearing any dark lipstick,"

"Why?"

"So it doesn't go all over him when he kisses you in front of the whole school after he wins the game," she replied like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Shut up! He won't do that,"

"Of course he will, it'll be the easiest way to let everyone know you're dating,"

"I very much doubt that happening,"

"Okayyyyyyyy, anyway I'll call you later,"

"Bye,"' I said ending the call.

I made my way to the sports hall where the boys were running up and down, warming up. Austin stopped when he saw me and jogged over.

"The game starts in 30 minutes, we're just getting ready, you can just sit on the bleachers and wait if you want,"

Charlie came behind Austin. "Hey Violet!"

"Hey Charlie," I smiled.

"Okay so you can just sit there while we finish our warm up,"

"Wait why is she allowed to stay? When I wanted that girl to watch us practice you said no,"

"Because 1. I'm the captain. 2.
