Let me tell you what normally happens when my dad comes home from a business trip:
1. He makes us eat breakfast lunch and dinner together everyday.
2. He demands a 'warning' whenever Calum comes over so that he can 'approve' or 'decline' it. I know, I know it's the most stupid thing ever known to man but no word of a lie if I don't ask then he will blow a fuse, it's happened before.
3. He randomly tells mom to take days off work since you know he is the most important person in the world and the fact that there are patients dying in hospital in desperate need of my mothers assistance means nothing to him.

Now let me tell you what has happened since we got home from the restaurant on Saturday:

Nothing.

Nothing!!

Non of his stupid rules have been enforced, I can eat breakfast in my room and mom went to work on Sunday. The reason for all this being possible was due to the fact that dad had locked himself in his office since we had gotten home on Saturday. He had gone to bed early hours in the morning but when mom had woken up at 8 am to go to work on Sunday he was already back in his office.

Both me and mom found this extremely unusual and to be honest it was worrying me a little. Mom was obviously more worried than me as she wasn't paying attention to anything, it was like she was stuck in her own little bubble, oblivious as to what was happening around her. My point was proven when she placed an apple that was downing in a bowl full of milk down in front of me.

"Mom?" I asked raising my eyebrow at the soggy apple.

"Yeah?" She asked not really paying attention.

"I know I'm not a 5 star cook and I burn ice but I'm pretty sure that an apple doesn't go with milk,"

Mom snapped out of her daze. Looking down at my bowl she gasped. "Oh sorry, I started to make you cereal and then gave you fruit, I don't know what happened."

I rolled my eyes, I knew what happened. She zoned out thinking about my dad again. God help the poor patients she had to look after yesterday.

"I'm going to get ready for school," I told her pushing my inedible breakfast away from me in disgust.

Okay so Violet today is the first day you're going into school as Austin's girlfriend so it is extremely important you don't dress like a homeless 12 year old boy. I was looking through my closet when my phone started to buzz. Not bothering to look at the caller ID I answered and pressed the phone to my ear with my shoulder.

"What's up buttercup?" Austin asked down the line.

I burst into laughter, nearly dropping my phone in the process. "God you did not just say that," I said in between gasps for air.

Austin didn't seem fazed by my laugher. "Be ready in 20 minutes,"

"Wait why?"

"Because I'm taking you to school, duh," I could imagine him rolling his eyes as he said this. My brain suddenly registered what he had said. Wait what? Taking me to school? As in drive outside of my house while my dad was here. Did Austin get hit too hard in the head with a basketball in practice?!

"No I'll drive myself," I stated firmly.

"Violet don't be difficult I'm taking you to school,"

"I'm not being difficult and you're not taking me to school,"

"Violet," he warned.

"See you in school," I said ending the call.

Finally deciding on a casual black skater dress and converse, I got changed. When I was dressed with my hair and makeup done I grabbed my keys and left the house. My eyes practically burst out of their sockets when I saw what was in front of me.

Austin was leaning against his car. What the hell was he doing?

"Hey," he smiled. His smile alone made my heart flutter. I shook the thought from my head.

"What the hell are you doing here?!" I marched over to his car.

He rolled his eyes. "I told you I was taking you to school now hurry up and get into the car, I've been waiting here for like 5 minutes,"

"I'm not getting into your car, what if my dad would have saw you?!"

"Well he hasn't and the longer you stay here the more of a chance he has of catching us,"

"And what do I say to him when he sees I've magically gotten to school without my car, shall I tell him I flew?"

"Tell him you carpooled with Robyn," he shrugged like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"You're a jerk you know?" I mumbled.

Austin let out a laugh and placed a kiss on my cheek. He pulled open the car door for me and then closed it behind me.

"Why were you so adamant to take me to school?" I asked once we where a safe distance away from my house.

Keeping his eyes on the road Austin chucked and scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. "Well you know the other day when Jacob tried to ask you out? It sort of bugged me more then I let on, you know the fact that I couldn't say anything to him so now that Calum knows I wanted other people to know too,"

I laughed. "I think even if we got married girls would still be ogling you and trying to ask you out,"

"God Violet we've been dating about 5 minutes and you're already talking about our wedding," he teased.

I clamped my hand over my mouth unable to believe that I just said that. "I didn't mean-"

"Relax cupcake I know what you meant," he laughed.

What was with all these nicknames?

As we neared the school my heartbeat began to increase and my palms began to sweat. Surely a nobody like me walking in with the most popular boy in the school wouldn't go unnoticed. Thinking of the whispers and the stares made a shiver travel down my spine.

I'm pretty sure Austin noticed this as his hand moved from the gear stick to my thigh. "It'll be okay," he said as he squeezed my thigh comfortingly.

He pulled into the parking lot and parked his car. Breathe Violet, the last thing we need is you're sorry ass fainting. With my luck I would probably knock myself unconscious in front of half the student body. Austin got out of the car while I was still remembering how to take air into my lungs. I went to open the car door but Austin had beat me to it. I thanked him and nervously placed one foot out of the door.

When I pulled myself out of the car I immediately felt eyes on me. Everything seemed to go in slow motion, as people saw me get out of Austin's car their jaw dropped. Some people even stopped walking. Honestly people where looking at me like I was a Kardashian, like what they were seeing in front of them was a mirage. No guys you aren't hallucinating although it did feel like a dream. Too good to be true.

Me and Austin walked side by side into school, drawing even more attention to us. I glanced around noticing a lot more people staring are me.

"Everyone is looking," I mumbled to Austin.

Austin gave me one of his signature smirks. "Then let's give them something to look at," with that he threw his arm around my shoulder, pulling me close. Then he placed a kiss on my cheek. I gasped along with everyone standing within 100 feet of us. Seriously I think even lunch lady Doris fainted. Can we call an ambulance please. Old women down.

Austin saw a group of his friends so I wiggled out of his hold, ready to leave him and go and find Robyn.

"Where are you going?" Austin asked.

"To find Robyn?"

"Why?"

"Because you're friends will want to see you," I nodded towards them.

"That doesn't explain why you're running for the hills," he said raising an eyebrow.

"Because they won't want to speak to me, it's you who they want, quick you need to go and see your adoring fans before they die of withdrawal symptoms," I teased.

Austin rolled his eyes. "You're my girlfriend remember, let me introduce you to my friends,"

I didn't make any effort to move. Was this a good idea? Violet you're his girlfriend you can't just avoid his friends all the time. I reluctantly let him take my hand and lead me to a circle of people.

"Hey Austin," a boy called as we got closer.

"Hey Jack," Austin smiled, letting go of my hand so he could pat the boy on the shoulder.

"Who's your friend?" Jack asked, his eyes looking me up and down hungrily.

"This is Violet, she's my girlfriend so back off Jack,"

At the mention of the word girlfriend a girl let out a gasp. I looked up to see who she was and I was unpleasantly surprised to see one of Kim's minions staring back at me. She had been getting something out of her locker when she must have over heard Austin. I internally groaned knowing that Kim would know in a matter of minutes. Giving me one final glare the girl turned on her heel and walked away, slamming her locker in the process.

"Woah woah woah hold up, girlfriend? As in playboy Austin Hendrix has a girlfriend?"

"Don't be an ass Charlie," Austin laughed casually throwing his arm around my shoulder again.

"So Violet has he showed you his collection of barbie dolls yet?" Charlie asked. Austin shoved Charlie backwards, Charlie then ran head first into Austin trying to throw him over his shoulder which made everyone laugh including Austin and Charlie as Charlie was about 4 inches smaller than Austin and definitely not as strong. The two continued to play fight.

"Are they always like this?" I laughed.

"Yeah pretty much but you get used to it," Liam told me. Liam was one of the few of Austin's friend that I actually knew the name of, he was also in the basketball team and was Austin's best friend. "One of them will give up in a minute,"

Almost immediately after Liam had said that Charlie let out a yelp. When I looked over I saw that Austin had him in a headlock.

"Okay man I give, I give now let go before you break something," Charlie said trying to wriggle out of Austin's grip.

Austin laughed and let go, coming back over to me. The bell let out a loud ring.

"What class have you got now?" Austin asked me.

"Biology," I sighed.

"I have math," Austin rolled his eyes. "It sucks that we don't have the same classes," he complained.

"Wait are you a senior?" Charlie asked.

I shook my head. "Nope I'm a junior,"

Charlie wiggled his eyebrows at Austin. "So you've gone for a younger girl?" He teased.

"Don't," Austin warned.

"Did you get her a colouring book on your first date," Charlie asked. I chuckled, not offended by his words. It was clear in his voice that he didn't mean it maliciously, he just wanted to push Austin's buttons and by the look on his face it was working.

"Dude I suggest you stop,"

"No but seriously did you have to cut her food up for her?"

"Charlie you definitely have a death wish," Liam laughed.

"Oh guys I was thinking we should all go and see that new R rated movie, we'll have to sneak Violet in thought you know since she's only a baby,"

Austin dived at Charlie tackling him to the floor. The boys wrestled, their laughter echoing throughout the hall.

Charlie pulled himself off of the floor and dusted himself off, he threw an arm around my shoulder. "You know I'm only playing right Violet,"

I giggled and nodded my head, causing Charlie to grin at me.

"See Austin, we're best of friends already."

Austin shook his head at Charlie's antics. In the blink on an eye Charlie was thrown over Austin's shoulder. My mouth dropped, I didn't know Austin was that strong. Granted Charlie wasn't the biggest boy in the world but he was still about 5'9 and must have been heavy.

"Dude you need to put me down, if any girls see I'll look like a pussy and I won't be able to get any action on Friday," Charlie complained banging on Austin's back with his fists.

"Come on Charlie we better be getting you to math," Austin said, ignoring Charlie's request.

I laughed at the two. "Always like that huh?"

"All the time," Liam said pinching the bridge of his nose with his thumb and forefinger. "No scratch that, they're usually worse,"

"Well you look like you have your hands full," I giggled.

Liam let out a chuckle. "Yeah I do, I better catch up with them before Austin drops Charlie,"

And with that he jogged in the direction of the two boys. With a smile on my face I turned on my heels and made my way to class. Calum was waiting for me in our usual seat.

Okay Violet this is going to be fine. As long as you don't make it awkward it's not going to be. Just act normal I told myself.

"Hey," I said plonking myself down next to him.

Calum looked up to meet my eyes. I could swear he took in a deep breath but it could of just been my eyes pulling tricks on me.

"Hi," he smiled.

Two girls walked into the class. Stopping when they saw me, one girl whispered something to the other and both stared at me.

"News travels fast," Calum said rolling his eyes.

"We're cool right?"

"Yes Violet we're cool," Calum laughed pushing me playfully in the shoulder.

I smiled so hard my cheeks hurt. "Good because if we weren't who would I copy my biology work from,"

"So do you think the plain black heels or the silver ones?" Robyn asked me. I was leaning against my locker while she filled me in on her outfit choice for the night, asking my opinion on shoes. She had a date with the cashier she met when she got 'stood up'.

"Why are you asking me for fashion advise again?" I asked, cocking my eyebrow up. Robyn didn't trust me when it came to clothes hence her trying to dress me up like I was her own personal barbie doll whenever I had a date.

"I just wish I had a pair of black sparkly shoes, you know the ones that are to die for and would go perfect with my dress," she said looking up to the sky longingly.

"Finally, the ulterior motive! Yes, you can borrow my shoes,"

"Yay! You're the best, while we're at it can I borrow the clutch bag that matches?"

"Sure,"

"And that really cute necklace Calum got you for your birthday?" She asked hopefully.

"You might as well share my closet," I said rolling my eyes. "Take what ever you want,"

"You bitch!" I heard someone shout. I snapped my head around to see a furious looking Kim storming towards me, steam practically coming from her ears. She almost looked like a cartoon dragon.

I had been waiting for this moment. The moment that Kim found out she no longer could claim Austin as her own. Not that he ever belonged to her in the first place, but in her deluded head her and him were the next Kimye. Now that he had a girlfriend she could no longer convince people they were a 'thing'.

"Here we go," Robyn muttered.

When Kim reached us I could practically feel the heat radiating off of her. Nope she wasn't pleased with me at all, and there was me thinking she came here to invite me to a sleepover.

"You slut!" she screamed.

I rolled my eyes, as did Robyn. "Kim seriously don't embarrass yourself, just walk away," Robyn said standing besides me.

"You horrid little home wrecker! Getting in between happy couples! How dare you!"

I scoffed. "Kim the two of you weren't dating!"

"Well I would have thought other wise when we were having sex every night."

I suddenly felt very uncomfortable. I didn't really like to think about Austin's past, I knew very well that he had slept with a lot of girls but it wasn't something I thought about in detail. The fact that Kim was basically gloating that she had done the dirty with Austin made me feel nauseous. Kim noticed her words had effected me and smiled triumphantly.

"Kim just walk away," Robyn said though gritted teeth.

"You really don't know who you are messing with! Who the hell do you think you are anyway?! You are nothing! Why the hell would he pick someone like you when he has someone like me," she growled.

"Is there a problem here?" A voice asked. I felt hands snake around my waist pulling me into a body. Instantly I knew who it was. Even if I couldn't have guessed, Kim's face gave it away.

I expected Kim to play it cool and walk away in a bid not to embarrass herself in front of Austin but as usual Kim didn't use her tiny excuse for a brain.

"Why the hell would you pick her?! She's plain and boring and I have a bigger butt and boobs!"

Austin almost chocked. I felt his arms squeeze me tight with the aim to try and comfort me.

"Kim I don't want to do this here, you need to calm down and leave," Austin said firmly.

Kim shot me a deathly glare. "I'm not surprised you're a slut, you're best friends with the biggest whore in school. I give it a month before Robyn is knocked up by some random freshman because she's that easy." She spat, her tone venomous.

I felt my blood boil, my whole body was on fire. How dare she! It was one thing insulting me but going after Robyn?! That's one think I couldn't stand for. Before I knew it I was pushing out of Austin's embrace and diving towards Kim with the intentions of ripping out her hair extensions.

Before I could reach her, a firm pair of hands grabbed my waist. I immediately knew Austin was holding me back. I tried to squirm my way out of his hold but he wouldn't let go not matter how much I kicked, still trying to reach for Kim.

"Austin let me go!" I exclaimed.

"Shhhhh Violet calm down, take a deep breath." He said into my ear. I closed my eyes and took big breaths in and out, calming myself. When I opened my eyes I saw that Kim had scurried off. Glancing to the side I noticed that Charlie had a tight grip on Robyn. When did he get here?

"Let me go so I can stick my foot down her throat," she shouted.

"Fuck she's strong," Charlie complained as he held Robyn even tighter.

Once Robyn had calmed down Charlie released his grip. "Thank god we were here otherwise Kim would have her eyes ripped out and your pretty little girlfriend and her friend would have been charged with murder," Charlie laughed.

Austin still had hold of me but it wasn't as tight, his chin rested on my shoulder as he chuckled.

"God Violet who knew you were so feisty," Charlie smirked. "I'm going to lunch, I'll catch up with you later,"

"Yeah me too, meet you in the food hall Violet," Robyn said following Charlie.

Austin laughed again. "I didn't peg you as a feisty one,"

I sighed. "Only when it's needed."

"Just for the record," he said seductively into my ear. "You have a bigger butt and bigger boobs, not that I was looking at your butt and boobs or anything,"

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah sure, not as if you were looking,"

Austin chuckled. "What can I say I'm a teenage boy, you have a very nice butt by the way,"

I felt myself blush.

"And also, just so you know Kim stuffs her bra,"

I couldn't control my laughter as it echoed through the halls. "She what!"

"Shhhh," Austin smiled. "She doesn't know I know but you it's pretty obvious once you see-"

"I don't want to know details on how you know," I interrupted.

Austin looked down sheepishly and scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah I'm sorry about bringing that up, seriously though I thought you were gonna kick her ass! Thank god I was here to stop you getting expelled," he laughed.

"My knight in shining armour," I said sarcastically.

"And don't you forget it,"
