I opened my messages for like the hundredth time since Austin dropped me home. We had to wait for Calum to leave before I even thought about coming out of Austin's room. Letting out a huge sigh I sat back onto my bed, how was I going to tell Calum?

I had spent the past hour opening and closing my message app, trying to build up the courage to text him. I knew better than to break the news to him over text I mean imagine that 'hey Calum just wanted to let you know that I may or may not be dating your brother, I don't know what's going on but we've kissed a lot,'. He'd hit the roof! Anyway so I'd spent the past hour trying to text Calum asking if we could talk, but I knew that I couldn't just text 'can we talk?' because those types of texts just scream bad news.

I groaned loudly. Robyn was right when she said that the longer I left it the harder it was going to be. If I would have just told Calum in the beginning that I'd saw Austin at the concert it wouldn't have been this bad, sure he would have probably been a bit annoyed but it would have been better than telling him that I may be in an actual relationship with Austin! Calum would probably see it as a secret I've been keeping from him.

What was I going to do?! Would it be a good idea to tell Calum in school? Why was I getting so worked up about it? Calum wouldn't act THAT badly to the news would he? I mean sure he'd probably be a little upset and hurt that I'd kept it from him and maybe a little annoyed that I went behind his back but he'd be fine, right??

My phone started to vibrate, distracting me from the crisis I was currently having. I glanced at the screen. Unknown number?? Raising my eyebrow I reluctantly accepted the call.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hello this is the local fire department is this miss Violet Benson speaking?" The voice said in a mumble.

"Errrm yes.."

"Well I'm afraid we have a problem,"

I was extremely confused right now. "What's the problem?"

"We've had a complaint that you're too hot,"

My mouth formed an 'o' shape as I heard a chuckle down the line. "Austin?"

"You got it flower," I heard him say, practically seeing his smirk.

"Flower?" I questioned.

"Yeah you know because you're name is Violet, I'm going to give you a nickname,"

"Let's put flower in the maybe pile then and keep looking," I laughed.

"If we must,"

"How'd you get my number anyway?" I asked.

There was a pause down the line. "Calum's phone,"

"What!"

"Relax, I told him that I had accidentally deleted moms number and needed his phone to get it back, I tried to get your number the day after I first met you but he caught me," he chuckled.

I started to blush remembering when Calum had told me he'd caught Austin on his phone. "So why did you call me?" I asked trying my hardest not so sound rude.

"Wow is it a crime to want to talk to you?"

I laughed at this. "You talked to me an hour ago," I teased.

"Honestly I'm doing it for your benefit, I assumed you'd be getting withdrawal symptoms from not hearing my voice for this long."

I rolled my eyes. "Thank god you called, I was beginning to sweat and get the shakes,"

"Have you thought how you're going to tell Calum yet?"

"No clue whatsoever, any suggestions would be appreciated though,"

"My only suggestion is that I'm not there when you do it,"

"Wow what a gentleman," I muttered.

This made Austin laugh. "I just think he'd take the news better coming from you,"

I nodded, Austin was right. "I promise I'll tell him soon,"

"Good, I've got basketball practice after school tomorrow so I'll pick you up at like 5?"

"Pick me up?"

"Yeah,"

"Why? Where are we going?"

"I just thought we could spend some more time together, I enjoyed today,"

I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face. "Okay that sounds good,"

"I better go before Calum catches me," he said, I could hear a little annoyance in his voice.

"Just give me a few days,"

"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow,"

"Night,"

"Good night,"

My alarm clock woke me and I groaned, I only had about 4 hours sleep last night, spending the majority of the night tossing and turning in my bed. 'Calum will be fine eventually' I told myself.

He'd need some time to cool off but once he had some time to think about it he'd be fine. Maybe it would be a little awkward at points but we get over it, we'd been best friends for like 2 years.

I dragged myself from my bed and decided it would be best to get a shower to wake myself up a bit. Once I was dressed in denim shorts and a black t-shirt I tied a flannel around my waist and shoved my feel into a pair of converse.

"What's wrong with your face?" Robyn asked when I got into school.

I frowned at her. "Go on, what is it this time? Have I only put mascara on one eye again?"

"No I mean what's wrong with you, you look like you're about to tell someone their dog is dead,"

"I have to tell Calum about Austin," I mumbled.

"Wow well that explains your face, I'm praying for you I really am. I'd rather be the dead dog than you,"

I groaned. "Please help me, what do I say?"

Robyn paused, thinking. "Don't make a big deal out of it, like you don't need to sit him down all dramatically and tell him the news. You could just mention that you saw Austin at the concert and he asked you out on a date recently."

"So lie?"

"No not lie, but not fill him in on every little detail, that would only piss him off more."

"Okay,"

"Oh and Violet, the news has to come from you. The worst possible way he would find out would be from someone else,"

I nodded. She was right. But Kim already had an idea of what was going on, she was bound to let it slip eventually and if she knew that Calum didn't know then she'd purposely tell him. In that moment I decided that I had to tell him today.

As if on cue Calum made his way over to us. "Please stay with me," I asked.

Robyn gave me a sympathetic look before turning on her heels and walking away leaving me and Calum alone. She just left me! Yeah thanks for that Robyn, thanks for all the moral support, wouldn't be here without you.

"What's up with her?" Calum asked.

A smirked, payback was a bitch. "She needed the bathroom like urgently, her tummy was feeling funny last night and she told me she thinks she pooped her self a little then,"

Calum pulled a disgusted face. "Remind me not to sit next to her at lunch,"

I laughed at this. "So Calum I meant to tell you-"

I was cut off by Lucas. "Hey Calum,"

I glared at him. Why did he have to interrupt me?!

"Hey" Calum smiled.

"Hi," I replied dryly.

Lucas raised an eyebrow at me. "Who pissed in your coffee this morning,"

"What is your problem with me?"

"My what?" Lucas asked.

"Your problem with me, clearly you have one so what is it?"

Lucas glared at me before looking at Calum, when he looked at Calum you could see a look of sympathy in his eyes. "You wanna know what my problem is?" He asked angrily, his focus back on me.

Before I could even open my mouth Calum pushed Lucas roughly in the chest.

"Don't!" Calum growled.

"But dude-"

"I said don't!"

Lucas took a deep breath and looked back at me, the anger in his eyes had vanished. "Open your eyes Violet," he said sadly before jogging off.

"Open my eyes? What the hell just happened?"

"You just tried to start a fight with Lucas for no reason," Calum muttered.

I looked down at the ground. "Okay you're right, I don't know what just came over me. He didn't even say anything wrong," I sighed. "Why did you push him?"

"Because I didn't want it getting into a big fight, you now both have time to calm down and see how stupid you were both being."

"I'm sorry,"

Calum took a deep breath. "It's okay, what were you trying to tell me before."

I bit my lip, Calum was already in a mood with me after that little stunt. I decided that I couldn't tell him right now. "Nothing, come on let's get to lesson,"

***

"Have you told him yet?" Robyn asked.

"No," I sighed banging my head against the table. It was lunch now and I had tried to tell Calum about 5 times but had chickened out each time.

"Violet stop being such a wimp and just tell him!"

"If it's so easy then you do it!"

"Honey I'd rather have gym everyday for a year than tell Calum about you and his brother,"

"Do I ever tell you how much of a good friend you are," I muttered sarcastically.

"Violet just get it over with, it's like ripping of a bandaid,"

"I'm trying," I whined.

"Try harder," she smirked. Was she enjoying my suffering?!  "Also do you know what Calum's problem is today? He's avoiding standing next to me like I have the plague or something,"

I couldn't help the giggle that escaped my lips, I may or may not have given Calum the idea Robyn had pooped herself. Like I sad payback is a bitch.

We began to eat our lunch, me sharing my fries and her sharing her chicken nuggets. Calum was with Lucas somewhere today meaning that I didn't have to worry about telling him for the time being.

After we had finished our lunch we made our way to the toilets, Robyn wanted to retouch her makeup. I could see Austin leaning against a locker in front of me, talking to some of his friends.

"Hey Violet," a voice called. Jacob was suddenly in front of me, he was on the football team.

"Hi Jacob," I smiled.

"How are you?" He asked.

"I'm good thanks, you?"

"I'm great, actually I wanted to know if you were free tomorrow night?"

"Free?" I questioned.

"Yeah, like for you know... a date,"

His question took me by surprised. Jacob was really cute but what about Austin? Speaking of Austin, his head had shot up when he heard Jacob.

I took a deep breath. "I'm sorry Jacob I have a family thing tomorrow," I lied.

"It okay, how about the day after?" He asked looking hopeful. Before I could respond Austin interrupted me.

"Hey Jacob, haven't seen you in ages man," he said making his way over, not even glancing at me.

"Austin! Hey! I was meaning to speak to you actually, I'm having a party in my house next week after the basketball game, spread the word yeah?"

"Of course,"

"You too Violet," he said returning his gaze to me.

"What?"

"My house, next week you better be there," he smirked. I could see Austin clench his jaw.

"I'll see," I smiled before turning on my heels, pulling Robyn behind me.

"Did you see that?!" She squealed once we were out of ear shot.

"See what?"

"How pissed Austin looked when Jacob asked you out,"

I let out a laugh.

"I'm not kidding Violet! He looked like he wanted to punch him,"

"He did swoop in pretty quick,"

"When are you seeing him again?"

"Tonight actually," I said fiddling with the strap on my bag.

Robyn smiled. "Do you need help getting ready?"

"No it's okay I don't think it's a date date, more like just hanging out,"

"Just use protection, I'm too young to be an auntie," she winked. My mouth fell open, I pushed her arm and laughed.

What was wrong with this girl?

***

I changed my outfit as soon as I got home. I was now wearing black jeans and a grey t-shirt. A car horn beeped from outside, grabbing my bag I made my way downstairs and out of the door. I raised my eyebrow when I saw movement in the back sear of Austin's car.

As I walked closer a head popped up, it was Pongo. I got into the car and was immediately greeted by Austin's dog. He jumped on my lap and started to lick my face.

Pongo was a Dalmatian, Calum and Austin went through a 101 Dalmatian phase, hence the name.

"I would have came and knocked on your door instead of beeping but you know," Austin nodded at Pongo. "I thought we could go on a walk," He told me as I tried to fasten my seatbelt which is rather hard when you have a 37 pound dog on you lap who refuses to move.

"Yeah that sounds good," I smiled. Pongo sat down on my lap.

"He likes you," Austin said pulling out of my driveway.

"I've seen him a lot before," I scratched behind Pongo's ear.

We drove for 10 minutes before pulling into a park. "This is his favourite place," Austin laughed getting out of his car. He walked around to my door and opened it for me, Pongo jumped out. Getting out of the car I stretched my legs, I was beginning to get cramp.

Austin put Pongo on his lead and began to walk deeper into the park. I walked besides him when I felt something warm on my palm, glancing down I saw that Austin had intertwined our hands. My stomach did backflips and a smile creeped onto my face. Why did my body react like this when he was only holding my hand.

"How was practice?" I asked him as we walked.

"It was good," Austin sighed.

"What's wrong?" I asked squeezing his hand slightly.

"It's nothing really, it can just get sort of repetitive. I sometimes feel like I have so much responsibility. I love basketball but I feel like if I do one thing wrong I've let everyone down. It's stupid I know."

"It's not stupid,"

Once we got into the dog park Austin took Pongo off of his lead. Pongo happily ran around as Austin pulled me onto a bench. The wind had picked up a little and my body shivered. Austin noticed this and immediately took off his hoodie.

I shook my head. "But then you'll be cold,"

Austin rolled his eyes. "Violet put on the hoodie,"

I thanked him and quickly slipped it on. He took my legs and lifted them onto the bench and over his body so that my but sat on one side of him and my feet sat on the other side, I was angled to face him.

"Did you tell him?" He asked.

I shook my head. Austin let out a groan.

"I'm sorry, I tried," I apologised.

"It's okay, it's just that today annoyed me with Jacob when he asked you out and I couldn't even tell him to get lost because it's not like you're even my girlfriend or anything."

His words stung a little bit 'it's not like you're even my girlfriend or anything' well then what the hell was I?

"Awwww did you get jealous," I giggled prodding his cheek.

"Yes,"

I stoped laughing. Wait he was jealous?

"I've already told you that I like you, how could I not be jealous of another guy trying to ask you out,"

I smiled at this and rested my head on Austin's shoulder. I mustered up enough courage to ask the question I had been dying to ask for a while now. "What's the deal with you and Calum?"

Austin sighed. "We act differently at home compared to at school, don't get me wrong we aren't close but we actually speak to each other at home,"

"Why do you ignore each other at school?"

"Before we moved our grandparents were a big part of our life's. Our grandpa was really into sports and as a result pressured us into it too. Well I say pressured, I was more than happy to play basketball but Calum was forced to play football, he was actually pretty good at it. But he hated it so much, not only because he was forced into it but because he was always compared to me, if he ever lost a game our grandpa would give him a lecture on how he should be more like me. It began to happen in school too, people would always compare him to me, even teachers and he got sick of it. When we moved it was a relief to him, he could be himself without anyone complaining. I guess he made sure not a lot of people knew we were brothers so that there wouldn't be a repeat of last time,"

"Calum never talks about it,"

"I feel bad about it when I look back, I knew Calum hated football yet I never said anything. I'm happy that he can be himself here, you know with the band and things,"

"He didn't play before he came here?"

"He could play guitar for years but it was always like a secret passion, it wasn't until we got here that he got into a band and things."

I nodded. We stayed like that for 40 minutes, me practically sat on Austin's lap as we talked and Pongo ran around the park.

"Come on," Austin said pulling me up and leading me further into the park, we past a jungle gym with swings and monkey bars.

"I'll race you on the monkey bars," I challenged.

"Why do you keep wanting to have races with me? You do realise I'm captain of the basketball team so that not only do I have an amazing body but I'm also fast and have good stamina," he said winking to me.

I rolled my eyes at him. "What's the matter? Are you too scared pretty boy?"

"Oh you did not just call me a pretty boy,"

"You bet your ass I did,"

Austin moved to one set of monkey bars as I moved to the other. "Go!" He shouted and moved across the monkey bars at an amazing speed. I on the other hand could just about hold my weight with one hand as I grabbed the next bar.

Obviously Austin beat me, I wasn't even at the halfway point. "You have to go back too," I said breathlessly. Austin laughed as he made his way back. He stoped when he saw me and dropped from the monkey bars, his smirk turning into a serious face.

"Why'd you stop?" I asked still hanging from the bars.

Austin bit his lip and walked closer to me. "I got a little distracted," he said, his eyes looking at my stomach.

I glanced down and saw that his hoodie and my shirt had rode up so I was revealing a lot of my stomach, a few more inches and my monsters inc bra would have been on show. I squealed and lost my grip, Austin quickly caught me before I hit the ground.

"Well that's not embarrassing," I laughed quietly, avoiding eye contact.

Austin chuckled. "We should be getting home," he said putting me down. He looked into my eyes and moved closer.

When our lips were inches apart I quickly whispered "Race you to the car." And with that I ran off, leaving Austin confused. I ran as fast as I could with Pongo at my heels but there was still no way I was going to beat Austin. I could hear him behind me. Suddenly there were strong hands wrapped around my waist, spinning me around quickly. His lips were soon on mine, my hands cupped his face.

"Better." He smiled when he pulled away. Grabbing my hand, he pulled me towards his car while I smiled like an idiot.

Once I was in the car with my seatbelt fastened Pongo jumped onto my knee again.

"Pongo, sit in the back!" Austin ordered. Pongo just growled at him before licking my neck and curling himself up on my lap. This made me laugh.

Austin pulled outside of my house, I pushed Pongo off of me so that he was in the back seat. Before I got out of the car I reached over and planted a kiss on Austin's cheek.

He pulled a confused face. "You missed," he pouted.

"I missed?"

He pulled my jaw so that our lips met. "Better?" I laughed when we pulled away.

"Better," he nodded.

"Robyn will you just pick a channel?" I sighed as Robyn clicked the remote for the 100th time.

"If you don't shut up I'll put old episodes of 'dog with a blog' on and take out the batteries of your remote,"

"I'll be good,"

Robyn had came over about 20 minutes after Austin had dropped me off, she made me tell her everything that happened.

"So when's the next date with
