Jaya

"Where the hell are they?" I ask, looking down at my bare wrist, why do I always act like I wear a watch...?

Everyone shrugs in response, causing me to groan, "maybe they got lost or murdered each other, I'll go see if they need any help," I stand up from my seat, making my way towards the food court, only to find a long queue. Damn...

I look around, trying to spot the two idiots only to find them deep in conversation, Dallas looked a little upset while Dylan was listening, well they bonded...

I tried stepping closer, trying to listen to their conversation, without being spotted, so I stood around a few people that were in the queue, using them as my shield.

"She needed a friend, a safe house and I wanted to be there for her no matter what, even if that meant just being her friend. I wanted so bad to be selfish for once, but you know, I just couldn't do it, I didn't wanna destroy what we had, have, I didn't wanna destroy her," Dallas tells, his eyes not meeting Dylan's, rather he stare of into the corner.

What's he on about?

Dylan frowns, "Damn that must've been hard. But I can see where you're coming from, I'm sorry for pushing you man," what are they talking about??

"This conversation stays between you and me, she can never find out," Dallas warns, his eyes finally meeting Dylan who slowly nods and answers, "don't worry, I won't be saying anything."

I stared at them confused, trying to puzzle together an answer, only to be left more confused, who were they talking about? what about Millie?

I quickly step away from the queue, making my way back to the bowling ally, my head filled with unanswered questions.

"Hey? Hello?" Millie snaps her fingers in front from my face, snapping me out of my daze, looking around I realise I made it back to the group, she continues, "did you find them?"

After a pause I answer, "uh eh- yeah I did, they're stuck in the queue," they groan and nod, sitting back down around the booth.

I stay standing up, "why don't we just get lunch, don't really feel like playing anymore and I'm kinda hungry," I suggest.

I stare at them as they think, then finally nodded, "you know what, we should just," Sarah says, looking around for her bag.

Kris stands up, putting his cap on and getting his phone out, "I'll let the boys know,"

"Here," Millie hands me my bag, I quickly take it, throwing it across my body.

After a few minutes, I notice Dallas and Dylan walking towards us, "what happening?" Dallas asks, staring at us, "everything okay?"

Everyone nods, I speak up, "yeah, thought since it's already getting a little late, we might as well just get lunch,"

They nod and approval, so we change our shoes, heading back to the car park, I stay behind the group, following them behind quietly.

"Did we lose Jay?" I hear Dallas ask as he turns his head around, looking for me until he stops me, "hello Jaya to world? You okay back there?"

I snap out of my daze to find everyone turned around staring at me in confusion and a little concern, I pretend to think more, "I'm thinking, shall I get a burger or a wrap,"

They all sigh and groan turning around while muttering to themselves about how done they are with me, expect Dylan who was staring at me, almost trying to figure me out.

"Where's your car?" Dallas asks Dylan, who finally looks away from me to answer, "over there," he points somewhere to his right, "I'll take Jaya and we can meet back at the food plaza,"

They all seem to nod in agreement and start heading towards the car while I perked up and stare at them in confusion, "Erm excuse me, hello? When did I agree to this," I try to catch their attention only for Dylan to grab my hand and drag me towards his car while I waved my hand around in confusion?

"Shotgun!" Kris shouts, jogging towards the car passengers side, I roll my eyes at him.

Another new car today...

Dylan opens the back door, as I get in, he closes the door and gets in the drivers side. How many cars does this guy even have?

"So...How is it you're always free? I thought you had a job?" I ask as Dylan reversed out the car park.

Kris snorts while Dylan pauses, finally out the car park he answers, "I can make time for important meetings,"

I stare at him through the rearview mirror and roll my eyes, "yeah, because bowling sounds like a very important meeting to me,"

He frowns, "Hey! It is," shaking my head I slump against the very comfy seats, letting my mind wander back to the conversations heard earlier between Dallas and Dylan.

She needed a friend

I didn't wanna destroy her

Safehouse?

"Hey? We're here," Dylan announces, I look up and noticed we're parked up, Dallas's car to our right.

"Still thinking about whether to get wrap or burger?" Dylan amuses, getting out the car followed by Kris then me.

I glare at him and stick my tongue out him, "maybe I am,"Β  Dylan smiles and shakes his head at me, leading me towards my group of friends who were waiting for us outside the food place.

Dylan walks beside me, "how about I get a burger and you get a wrap and we can split it, that way you can have both," he suggests, as if I wasn't already planning on getting someone to do that with me.

I nod, "sounds fine with me but it depends what type of burger you're getting,"

He thinks then nods, "we can decide once we're inside," he says, opening the door for me, only to end up opening the door for everyone and some random people.

I laugh once he's done and comes back to stand beside me, "got a new job, doorman?"

He glares at me while mumbling, "didn't even say thank you," causing me to burst out laughing again.

"Table for 2?" The lady at the front asks, staring admirably at the two of us.

I shake my head and correct her, holding myself back from saying 'carpet for 6', "table for 6 actually,"

She nods and picks up 6 menus, leading us towards an empty booth, she places the menus on the table and walks away.

Once seated I realise that the boys were on one side and girls on the other, this looks too much like a triple date...

I glance at Dylan in front of me, who was staring at the menu in thought, "so what kind of burger and wrap you want?"

Eventually, we all order our food while conversing about some random topic and getting sidetracked and taking way to long.

While all this was happening I came up with a theory about the whole Dallas situation, I observed his behaviour, who he was talking to, trying to be a cool ass psychologist, who was trying to test my lame ass theory.

Okay I was going crazy

Finally having enough, I stood up, "Dallas can I talk to you in private please," I couldn't hold it back any longer before I explode.

"Everything okay?" Dylan asks, staring between the two of us, he wasn't the only one everyone around the table was,

I nod my head, trying to ease the tension he was creating around us, "Yeah yeah everything's fine, I just gotta ask something,"

Millie and Sarah tried to move back into the seat as much as they can to let me out, on the other side Kris stands up letting Dallas walkout from the middle.

I make my way outside, with Dallas quietly following behind me, probably sensing my uneasiness because he hadn't made a quirky joke yet.

I took a deep breath once I was finally out, turning around to Dallas,

Dallas's brows furrowed as he stared at me in concern, "Everything okay Jay?"

I don't waste any time and get straight to the point,

"Are you cheating on Millie with Sarah?"
