((Mikey up top^^))

Riley grabbed the decorations box down for the attic. She struggled to balance the box while also looking backwards trying not not fall down the ladder.

"Help! Someone help me!" Riley squealed, she knew her brothers had heard her but they were just ignoring her. Riley cursed silently and continued to struggle down the narrow stairs.

When her feet finally landed on the carpet, she jumped up trying to lift the heavy box up. She used her chin to carry it and used her hands to push the stairs back up to the attic.

"Looks like fun" Mikey smiled at her while walking to his room to get his keys.
"Thanks for the help" Riley spat at him while rolling her eyes at her brothers laziness.
"Oh no worries baby" he grinned at her with his cheesy smile.
"Where are you going?" Riley ignored his attempt to irritate her, even though it secretly did.

"Going over to Brooke's house" he searched for the keys, looking under his pillow, on his desk, in his bed, he rubbed his head trying to remember where he put them last.
"In your wardrobe" Riley sighed. Mikey looked at her for a second before opening his wardrobe.

The chestnut door covered his body while he searched but she heard the jingle of the keys. Mikey slowly closed the door and pretend to shoot himself in the head, Riley giggled.

Mikey thanked her and walked down the stairs. She peered through the window and watched him get into his old rusty red Volvo.

Riley picked up the box with all of her strength and huffed as she carried it down the stairs. She wondered why she was carrying it, she was the weakest out of all the siblings.

She didn't just mean because she was a girl because that's not true, girls can be equally as strong, or even stronger. But in Rileys defence Charlie did wrestling in his spare time so he was very strong.

Kyle did almost every sport and that didn't include going to the gym almost everyday. The twins basically lived on the football field, lived football, breathed football, they were equally as strong.

Mikey was the only one who wasn't a mini hulk. He was skinny, but still stronger than Riley. But he wasn't here, he went to Brooke's. Recently Riley was getting annoyed at the amount of time he spent there.

Riley finally reached the bottom of the stairs. She turned on her heels and dragged the box to the lounge were the tree awaited its makeover.

She smiled to herself as she breathed in the sweet smell of Christmas. The tree was alive, it was a living thing, Riley was going to make it her duty to take care of it. Because she knew her brothers wouldn't.

Riley rummaged in the box of decorations and pulled out the glittery star that hangs on the top of the tree.

Riley ran her fingers over their engraved names. Her thumb pressed gently over the names of her parents, William and Alice, she smiled at the warm memory of them.

Riley looked back up at the tree remembering the cheerful memory of her father lifting her up to put the star on the top of the tree.

Riley continued to stare at the star, the star was special, not only did it represent the meaning of Christmas but it also connected Riley to her parents.

"Would you like to do the honours?" Charlie asked her while standing in the door frame. She turned to him wondering how long he had been watching her. Riley smiled and nodded at him.

Riley got up, she continued to grip the star. Charlie rubbed his hands together before gently placing them on her hips.

"You're heavier than last year" Charlie chuckled while lifting her up to the top of the tree.
"Hey!" Riley playfully kicked him. Charlie gave her one last lift with all of his energy.

Riley was at the top now. She looked down at the star and gently pushed it forward. She leaned over and grabbed the tree with her spare hand she popped the star on the top.

She nodded at Charlie and he lowered her down. They stood looking at the star together,
Charlie carefully placed his big strong hand on her shoulder. Riley turned to his touch and grabbed it with her small gentle hand.

For the rest of the day she continued to decorate the tree with lights, tinsel and of course baubles. Her brothers help along the way by reaching the places she couldn't.

The five of them stood in awe looking at the sparkling tree. Ryan knelt down and plugged in the lights, the last touch.

The tree lit up as Rileys eyes lit up along with it. Riley clapped her hands together, the tree was perfect.
"Good job Riles" Kyle grinned still staring at the tree, mesmerised. Riley nodded at him and smiled at her creation.

"How about some hot chocolate to add to the feels of Christmas" Charlie peeled his eyes off the festive tree.
"Yeah!" Shawn wiggled his bum in excitement like a dog waiting for it's ball.

They all walked over to the kitchen and watched Charlie pour the milk into the chocolate powder that lay patiently in the mug.

He passed the steamy cups to each of them. Rileys hand burned as she gripped onto the mug. She blew out air while making an o shape with her mouth trying to cool it down.

Charlie went to sip it but the house phone rang. He dropped the mug on the counter, Charlie stretched over and picked up the phone.

Riley watched as Charlie's eyes widened at the message he was receiving. Charlie quickly dropped the phone and ran to get his coat.

"Everyone get your coats we need to go! Now!" Charlie yelled his voice shaky.
"What's wrong Charlie? Who was it?" Kyle asked what they were all thinking.

"It was Brooke" he panted "Mikey's in the hospital, he's been hit by a car" worry filled his green eyes.

At once they all dropped their mugs and ran out the door.
