Abby

I was embarrassed to say I held on to Oliver through most of the flight. Although I don't think he minded much. He got us some popcorn and put on a movie and we watched some cheesy horror flick that made me hide my face in his shoulder anyway. The guys laughed at all the scary parts while I cringed and looked away. I don't think Kate and Melanie watched any of the movie at all, they were so busy talking in the corner about New York.

Oliver kept my mind off flying the entire time which I was completely grateful for. He had me working on some of the website after the movie and setting up some upcoming events. I had to make dinner reservations for tonight and Oliver made reservations for us at the spa. He said he had something special planned for just the two of us one night but wouldn't tell me anything else. As long as it doesn't include flying or Avery and his mother, I'm game. It's one of those things we know we need to talk about but just don't because we know it will kill the fun.

As we arrive at the airport Oliver puts out seatbelts back on. He holds my hand and smiles. Knowing I'm still not good with this. As the landing gear hits the ground I squeeze tight on his hand. Oliver laughs and I see Mason and Dylan cracking up at me.

"Leave me alone. I don't like flying." I pout a little, but Oliver leans in and kisses my pouty lips.

"Still want me to leave you alone?" Oliver asks with a mischievous smirk on his face. I shake my head no pressing my lips together and slipping my arms around his neck.

"You can bug me. They need to leave me alone." Oliver grins and kisses me again slowly this time as if no one else is on the plane with us. He lavishes me with soft touches and tender kisses. It's like as soon as we hit this plane he became Mr. Romance. But then he's like that a lot with me. Mostly when it's just us in our little world.

We get off the plane and another stretch limo is waiting for us. I've managed to do well so far as an assistant. Oliver hasn't complained about anything I've done. I've made several changes to his website all he seems happy with, I put up some new ideas not only on his website but on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. He was thrilled with it. I've been watching all of it and it's gotten really great responses from his fans. There's a few that I will need to remove again. I think those are just going to be apart of the territory with Oliver. It's kinda like a internet version of tossing your underwear at the rockstar. Oliver seems to collect a lot of underwear.

"Abby? Where'd you go?" Kate asks waving her hand in front of my face.

I look up and blink several times at her. "Sorry, I was haunted by his fans panties."

"What? Never mind I don't think I want to know." Melanie says cringing.

"What? Have you ever seen his website? I swear it's like virtual panties from every single female fan he has! I had to sort through that mess!" I explained.

"That was an image I so didn't need of my brother." Kate groans as she rolls her eyes,

The guys take the luggage from the plane to the car and we head to the hotel. I've got my laptop out and I'm working in the car on the website mess while we ride. I'm half listening to the conversation and reading some of the lewd comments on the board that are meant for Oliver. I frown and scrunch up my face as I read some of the weirder comments and come across a couple that catch my eye and I hesitate as I read them.

"Oliver, have you gotten messages like this before?" I ask adjusting my screen so he can see it.

"Ollie what's it say?" Dylan asks I could hear the concern in voice that matched the look on everyone's faces.

"Murphy's Law: If the enemy's within range, then so are you." He read frowning at the words then hesitated at the next comment. " Murphy's Law: Anything you do can get you killed, including nothing."

"What the fuck does that mean?" Mason asks.

"Take them down, Abby. I don't want that kind of shit on my site. Anything you see like that take down and let me know about it. If you know how to track it then do it." Oliver was irritated by the comments I could see that but he needs to know this is happening. Now I'm really concerned about who is making the comments. As I look at the screen names they're the same on the comments. I'm going to have to try and track them.

Once we get to the hotel it's like walking into another world. The place is like a palace, it's amazing. All white and gold with blues and ivory's. It's a royal palace looking and stunning. The crystal chandeliers and gold trim around everything. I feel so out of place here. This isn't the way I live or how I'm used to traveling. I stand awkwardly off to side in the corner while Oliver gets us checked in and our key cards. I watch people come and go in the lobby with their noses in the air. No one seems to notice me, that's not abnormal, I'm good at staying in the background. It's then I see Avery walk in with Oliver's parents and my heart sinks. I see how she fits this world and how I don't. What was Oliver thinking?

I watch as they go to the desk and greet Oliver and the others. His mother is the epitome of high society and Avery is taking lessons. I watch as Avery reaches for Oliver taking his arm and holding on tight as Oliver struggles to push her off. He looks around and finally sees me. Coming over Oliver takes my hand and kisses my cheek. He looks relieved to see me.

"I thought I lost you for a second there. Come here I want you to meet my father." Oliver says guiding me over to the group.

I see his mother roll her eyes and turn away from me, Avery put on a fake smile and tries to take Oliver's other arm but he shakes her off again. Then I see his father, Oliver looks just like him but younger.

"Dad this is Abby, my assistant and my girlfriend." Oliver grins at me like he's proud of me for being both to him.

"Mr Steel, it's nice to meet you." I extend my hand to him.

"Ha! None of that formal stuff here. We're out of the office. I'm Beau. And I think the pleasure is mine. I've seen his website today, was that your doing?" He asks and I smile and nod a yes to him. "Bout time you hire a girl that knows computers! Tell me what was your major business, information technology, computer engineering?"

"None actually. I didn't go to college. I taught myself." I explained and felt completely humiliated by having to tell him that.

"Dad, If Abby can do all this without college think of how amazing she'll be after she's done with college?" Oliver grins at his dad then me. I'm not getting it.

His dad smiles and nods his head though. I guess he understood it. "I want you to come down to the office sometime soon with Oliver. I'd love to talk to you some more about your skills."

"Oh, okay. When Oliver has time in his schedule, I guess. Not that I don't know his schedule, I do, that's my job as his assistant but not right now, obviously we're out of town, you're out of town and the office is back in California, not New York. And I'm babbling. " I'm not doing well here. I see Oliver's mother roll her eyes again and Avery snicker at me. Beau smiles softly as Oliver snakes his arm around me and kisses my cheek.

"Relax. He likes you. He doesn't invite just anyone to the office." Oliver tells me as he nuzzles my neck. "How about we find our room?" I nod quickly. I'm not feeling very comfortable here with Avery and Grace giving me nasty looks. I'm ready to hide for a while.

We head up to our rooms and separate from each other for a bit. Oliver opens our door and when I walk in I'm shocked. It's gorgeous. The huge penthouse is made for royalty. Trimmed in crystal and gold the far side wall was all a windows overlooking the the city. We're up high enough there's no one to look in, and we have a beautiful balcony to view the city and sky. I don't think I want to know how much Oliver is paying for these rooms. I'm sure it's more than my paycheck for the next few months.

"This is beautiful, Oliver. My God, you didn't need to go this crazy because of me." I said then realized this is probably normal for him. "You travel like this all the time, don't you?"

"It's something I've gotten used to. It's got better security here and I can relax and not worry about fans." Oliver rubs the back of his neck. I can tell he's a little nervous about this.

"Oh, I understand." I don't, but I'm not going to push. I'm not understanding much about this trip.

Oliver

As soon as my parents and Avery appeared in the lobby and I had to look around for Abby, I knew that wasn't a good sign. She was nervous about this trip as it was, having my parents and Avery here first thing didn't start this off right. My mother with her rude behavior and Avery pawing at me didn't help. My father however was genuinely interested in Abby. It's the first time I've introduced him to a girl that had a brain, or that's the way he sees it. He's probably thrilled that I've hired someone who knows something about computers finally. It's his world and Abby understands it. Abby knows her way around the inside of computers and speaks the terminology which is my fathers language, not only that but she didn't go to college to know them, to my father that makes Abby brilliant. He wants her to come to the office because to his way of thinking if he can't get me to work for the company then he can get my other half to. Wait? Now I like Abby, more than like her at this point but maybe I need to slow this down a bit before my father speeds me up.

"Your father is very nice. I'm surprised he wants me to come to the office to meet. I don't understand what that's about do you?" Abby asks.

I'm not really listening to Abby as she's talking about whatever at the moment. I'm thinking about my father. He wants her to come to the office. He only does that to impress someone. Why does he want to impress Abby? Shit! My dad's moving this faster than I am. My parents are both on the 'You're thirty two years old it's time to settle down' train, they just each have different partners in mind for me. I have to say I agree with my father, if I have to choose right now I'm going to choose Abby. She's the girl that I feel best suits me. And I know there's no way I'll ever choose Avery.

"Oliver, are you okay?" Abby asks again, but I'm still not listening. "Oliver?" My mind is wandering over what a life with this redhead would be like. I'm thinking more of fun and sex not the other side of the story but I know there's more to a relationship. I'm just not there yet. I'm still trying to get to know her.

There's a lot to Abby, she's not the one dimensional bimbo that I've gone out with before. She's smart and talented. I like that she's strong enough to stand on her own two feet, she's independent and courageous to do what's necessary, even if it means she has to sacrifice a lot to do the right thing. She's got morals and character and empathy and compassion. I've seen more passion out of her in the short time I've known her than in all the years I've known Avery. Everything I've seen in Abby has been natural, genuine and heartfelt. There was never an instant I felt she was ever fake with me or didn't mean something she said. That in itself is rare to come by and I feel like I should hold on to her with everything I have, because I may never find someone like her again.

I walk outside to the balcony and look out at the city lights. Abby is sitting inside on the sofa and has stopped talking now. I finally noticed the silence and turn around. She's staring at the floor and playing with her sleeves. Shit! I wasn't listening and I missed something she said. Fuck!

"Abby? I'm sorry sweetheart, I was so lost thinking about you and didn't hear you. Would you please say it again." I try to get myself out of my screw up.

"It's okay, Oliver. I wasn't saying anything important. Are you okay?" She asks and I'm not sure if I'm in trouble here or not. I should be. I wasn't listening, but she's blowing it off. Why am I worried?

"Fine. I'm fine. Are we okay?" I have to ask. Abby doesn't say anything but just smiles softly and nods her head. I'm not getting a good vibe from it though. I think I missed her saying something that was important, but she thinks I was blowing her off. Fuck! I messed up. "We are? Okay, good. Well, we're going out to dinner soon. If you want to change." I let her know. I'll find out what she said later. And I'm going to make it up to her for my little wandering mind there too. If she only knew I was thinking about her the whole time she probably wouldn't be upset, but I can't tell her that. "Kate said she helped you with some of the packing?"

"Yeah, she helped me pick out some things to bring. I'll go get ready." Abby got up and went to the other room. She hesitates at the bedroom door but goes on in and closes the door behind her.

While she got changed I made a few calls. The first being to the front desk. "Hi this is Oliver Steel. I'd like to see about having a bottle of champagne brought up for after dinner for us.. yes that's fine... also please do not give out my room number to anyone including my family.. I understand that they are staying here, but I like my privacy..... thank you..... Yes, if we could have breakfast brought to our room in the morning about seven that would be wonderful. Eggs, bacon, toast, fruit, coffee, juice.... That sounds fine. Thank you."

When Abby comes out ready to go she takes my breath away. She is absolutely stunning, those green eyes of hers she's done some sort of makeup magic to and they just pop out at me. Her plump lips shimmer and I want nothing more than to kiss her senseless. Her gold outfit shimmer in the lights taking on different colors. Those long legs are bare and visible for me touch under the table tonight. Resisting her is becoming harder to do.

We met the others downstairs and headed out to dinner. I had Abby make reservations for us at a restaurant across town. I want to give her the absolute best New York experience I can. We ride in the limo talking and laughing about times the guys and I spent here and the trouble we've gotten into. I watch Abby during the conversation and she's smiling taking it in and finally seems to be relaxing. I take her hand and kiss it at the end of the embarrassing story.

"I promise I won't do that again." I whisper in her ear. She giggles softly and looks up at me. He eyes sparkle in lights overhead. It's the look in her eyes that draws me in further and makes me feel like there's no one else in the world but us.

"Oliver? Ollie! Dude! We're here you want to get out?" Mason says pulling out of my daze. I smile at Abby nodding and kiss her softly before getting out of the car but I didn't miss Dylan's comment about me.

"Shit, Abby! What did you do to him? He's head over heels for you." Dylan tells her and I think about that for a moment until Abby gets out of the car and I have to agree with him. I'm falling hard for her.

We get seated immediately at one of the hardest places to get in. All eyes are on us as we walk through the restaurant to our table. I hold on to Abby's hand making sure she stays right with me. I see the looks as we go through the panty drop eyes at me and the change to glares as they see Abby. I don't think it. So I compensate for the bullshit. I pull Abby closer to me and kiss her temple as we walk around get to our table. I want all these women staring and glaring to know who got me.

"Oliver, you're putting me in cross hairs here." Abby tells me. "Every woman in here already hates me for being with you and now they want to kill me. So thanks for that." Abby says patting my chest.

I wrap my arms around her and kiss her lips softly before I let her sit down. "I want each one of them to know that I'm taken. I don't want them to leave the comments on my site anymore or the letters or anything."

"Oh no. They send you letters too? I haven't seen that yet." Abby groans.

"No, I figured I'd wait to make you do that. It's worse." I tell her and she shakes her head and sits down.

"I need a strong drink for this." She mumbles and I laugh, I know how she feels. I feel the same way about some of it.

"Can we get whiskey sours all around?" I ask the waitress. She nods and disappears.

We continue talking and laughing about some of the stranger things I've gotten from fans. As we laugh, I look up and there walking towards us is my parents and Avery. Fuck! They're gonna ruin our night!

"Darling! I thought that was you! You don't mind if we join you do you?" My mother asks with a smirk on her face. "Avery, why don't you sit next to Oliver." Avery grins and tries to pull a chair right in between me and Abby.

I saw exactly what she was trying to do and wasn't letting it happen. "No! Avery, Abby is my girlfriend. You aren't sitting here. Abby scoot over here, sweetheart. Dad, why don't you sit next to Abby. Avery, sit next to Dylan and my mother. That's better." I fixed that. My mother is not fucking this up any more than she has.

We all took our seats and I could tell Abby was nervous again. So much for our fun relaxing night. My father started talking to her about computers which she was able to do comfortably. Mother and Avery just glared as they talked. I listened to their conversation and although I couldn't keep up, I knew my dad was happy with my choice this time.

"So Abby, tell me what is it like to get away with grand theft?" My mother asks.
