Oliver

We tried to leave as soon as the presentation was over, but my mother caught us and made us walk the red carpet and make our appearance as a happy family and my friends weren't an exception. She wants everything to appear perfect no matter how they could be falling apart. Mason and Dylan stayed as far away as they could until my mother pulled them up to us. She pushed Dylan into a picture with Kate which both were happy about, but refused to let her know that. My mother would turn it into a huge deal. Kate and I put on our best fake smiles and stood for the photographers. We turned when called, posed with our parents and then each other. Then my mother did exactly what I told her not to.

"Oliver, why don't you and Avery get your picture together?" She smiles at me and I shake my head no. "Oh come on dear, you make such a handsome couple."

Avery was in the skimpiest dress I've ever seen. Gold sparkles, a slit up her thigh almost to her hip. The front barely covers her while the back had nothing to it. For a woman who was from money and had the ability to dress classy she looks like trash, cheap and sleazy. I don't understand what is happening to Dylan's sister this isn't the girl I grew up with. She's changed and it's not for the better.

"Oh yes, come on Olie, I want my picture with you." Avery cooed grabbing my arm and wrapping herself around me. The next thing I know, she's grabbing my face and kissing me. A hard kiss right on my lips. Not what I want. I can hear the cameras clicking away and the media is going crazy yelling question after question at me. I look like I'm with one of the girls my mother tries to keep me from.

Fuck!! This is not happening!!

"Get off me, Avery!"ย  I am not happy with her. She knows not to do this with me. Avery knows what the media is like and she knows that this is the kind of stuff they blow completely out of context. "We are not a couple! What the fuck has gotten into you lately?!" I yell as loud as I can. "Who the hell are you anymore? I don't even know you!"

The media misconstrues everything when it comes to me and women. Now here we go with one more woman that I'm not involved with, but they will say Avery is my latest fling. Great and now Abby will see it and my chance to go out with her will fly out the window. I can't let that happen. I don't even know her last name. I need Abby to work for me, I want to spend time with her. I won't be able to do that if she thinks Avery and I are a thing.

"Oliver! That is completely uncalled for! Avery was just being affectionate with you. There's no need for you to be rude." My mother quietly scolds me pulling me away from the ears of the media.

"No need my ass, Mother! Now every fucking media source will have a picture and a story of me with my latest lady of the night. You're the one that complains about me and my bad publicity. What do you think this is going to do?" I'm pissed she has no idea what she just did to me. Not that my mother cares this is what she wanted.

"I wouldn't say being associated in a relationship with Avery as bad publicity, Oliver. She's from a very good family. Just like Dylan would be wonderful for Kate." My mother the social climber. All she sees is dollars and status. She doesn't see them as people or friends, but as great money and social matches.

"Good night, Mother. Let's go boys." I say to Mason and Dylan.

"Just where do you think you're going?" She asks. I'm thirty two like she has a say anymore. She hasn't had a say in my life in many years now, I just let her think she has a say once in a while when I don't want to deal with her third degree anymore.

"Out. Bye Mother." I walk off with my friends and ignore my mother and Avery calling after me. I'm not coming back, I'm going to find Abby and hope I can explain the pictures before she sees them and gets the wrong idea and blows me out of the water.

We climb into my car. I was surprised to see Kate jump into the backseat with Dylan. I started the car then frowned in my mirror at her. She only grinned at me and strapped on her seatbelt. My sister could be just as headstrong as I am at times.

"What are you doing, Katie?" I ask her finally.

"You aren't leaving me alone with mom and dad again. Sorry Dylan, but Avery is getting weird about Olie. I'm not sure I can take her obsession anymore. He's all she talks about." Kate dug her heels in.

I can't blame her. We've left her behind a lot lately. That's my fault, I shouldn't leave her behind as much as I do. She should come with us more. We need to stick together, especially the way our mother tries to push us into relationships because of status. Neither of us can stand it. Both of us fight it, to the extent that Kate and Dylan both like each other, but Kate won't date him because of her and I refuse to get serious with anyone. I won't subject any woman to my mother, at least if she doesn't know who I see she can't say anything rude to her. My mother will if given a chance. She would rip any girl a part if she wasn't what my mother deemed appropriate. I will be keeping Abby far away from my mother.

"Fine, but you gotta keep your mouth shut to mom and dad. Not a word where we're going or who you meet. Got it?" I tell her. My sister is loyal and trustworthy. I know she will keep my secret.

"Cross my heart, Oliver. Let's get out of here before Avery decides to follow us." She suggests.

Kate's right, the last thing I need is Avery following us to Abby's work and getting all possessive and jealous when she has no right to. That's Avery though. She does that all the time and has scared off more than one girl in the process. I didn't mind any of it then, now is different. I don't want her scaring off Abby. I want my chance and if Avery has a say, I won't get it.

We get out of the event as fast as possible and head to downtown LA. I know exactly where this bar is. I've been here several times and I'm actually surprised I haven't seen Abby there before. We drive up and I leave the car with the valet and we head in. The media is surrounding the entrance and snapping pictures left and right of us. I try to block my face and just get in as quick as possible without too much of a scene. The guy working the door knows me and passes us through. The four of us wander through quickly and I make sure to tip him. He didn't have to do that for us but I know the media can cause a scene if I'm just standing out there. We keep our eyes out for Abby and stop at the main center bar. I need to find where she's working.

"What are we doing here, Oliver?" Kate asks. She sees I'm looking around.

"I'm looking for a friend of mine. I want to talk to her." I tell my sister who knows I'm not telling her the entire story. She knows me too well. Her eyes stare into mine and read me only too well. Kate grins and nods at me she knows.

"What's she look like?" Kate asks. I love my sister. No matter what she's on my side.

"Long red curly hair, big green eyes. She works here, Kate." I explain and she only nods understanding why it's hush, hush.

"Name?" Kate asks smiling. She's going to help me find her. Kate has no problem asking around and fortunately for me it looks better for her to be asking around about Abby than me. Kate knows she made it much easier for me.

"Abby." Then I watch my sister go up to the big guy working the bar. She leans over twirls her hair, shit she's flirting with him. I hope Dylan doesn't get pissed over that. He's watching just like I am but we stay back and watch her just to be sure she doesn't get in trouble. In a minute she comes back.

"Come on, Romeo. She's serving up in VIP tonight. Aren't you lucky? You're paying loverboy." Kate leads the way and the four of us walk to the roped off area. We walk up to the bouncer and hope this is just as easy.

"Mr Steel! We weren't expecting you tonight." The bouncer knows me, Shit! Usually you need reservations for the VIP area. I'm really hoping they aren't packed tonight.

"Yeah, spur of the moment thing. I want Abby's section tonight, no one else." I request her. Here I know I can do that.

"Yes sir, give me just a minute to get a table ready for you. Anything special to drink tonight?" He asks knowing in VIP I can do pretty much what I want. I make special requests for areas, servers, drinks even if we're having a party I can shut down the whole area.

"Whiskey specials all around. And no more tables for Abby. I want her to myself tonight. Undivided attention, you know." I smile knowing I can request that too. It's one of the benefits of the VIP area.

"Yes, sir. You're table will be ready in just a minute." He continues with small talk until the hostess comes down to get us. "Here you go, sir. Have a good evening."

The sexy blonde hostess walked up to me greeting me with her best smile. Touching my arm and stroking down to my hand when she leaned against me. "Good Evening, Mr. Steel. We have the table you requested ready for you. Abby is getting your Whiskey specials ready now, if you'll follow me, please."

We start following the hostess and Mason grabs me by the back of my collar. Stopping me mid step and pulling me back to him. It's just like he used to do when we were kids. No matter how old we get something just don't change between us. We've always been this way with each other it's part of what bonds the three of us together. The way we treat each other, the way we interact, we're the same family as we always were. Becoming a star, or producer or agent didn't change a thing with us.

"Damn, Oliver. Is there anywhere you go that you don't get felt up?" Mason whispers to me and I shake my head. It's not by my choice.ย  I wish I didn't get touched all the time, sometimes it really bugs me. These girls don't know me and think they can touch me anyway they want.

"It's not my fault the only one that touches you is yourself." I come back at him. I can hear Dylan and Kate laughing behind us.

"No one can love you till you love yourself, Oliver!" Dylan yells up to me and we all burst out laughing.

We go up the curved stairs and around the numerous VIP areas that are sectioned off. I see several people I know here. I'm really glad the media isn't allowed up here. This keeps me safe for a while and I can talk to Abby since we will be her only table for the evening. I'll make sure she gets tipped well for the night and keeps it this time. She works too hard not to keep what she earns.

We get to our area. It's a nice secluded area, a couple chairs and a couch with tables around us. Mason takes a chair,ย  so does Dylan. Kate sits on the far end of the couch next to Dylan with me on the other. I look around then see my angel walk up and damn does she look good right down to her toes tonight. That long red hair is pulled up in a ponytail, her gown from earlier has been replaced by a black halter top and black leather skirt and thigh high boots. She looks gorgeous this way too.

"Whiskey Specials, Mr. Steel?" She says softly as she sets our drinks down in front of us.

"Damn!" Mason say quietly as Abby sets his drink in front of him. "Thank you, sweetheart."

"Abby, you look fucking amazing. Is there anything you don't look good in?" I ask as she leans next to me and I get a nice view down the front of her halter. There's nothing on under it and I just went hard in an instant making me wonder what isn't under the skirt.

"I thought I said don't come." Abby knelt down in front of me to talk to me. This is a position I could really get used to her in. Her hands rest on my knees as she looks up at me. She fucking hot like this, these clothes this position. I really like this, but I want her to sit down with me and talk to me. I don't want her to think this is all I want. I lean forward so my face is close to hers.

"Yeah, I don't listen well. Besides I told you if you left I'd chase you. I wanted to see you tonight, talk to you, get to know you better. I'm glad I'm here." I tell her touching her hair and twirling it around my finger. Her hair is so soft. I'm so close to her, my eyes stare deep into her beautiful green ones and I wonder if she'd let me kiss her. I'm close enough to, my eyes dart down to her lips and she's biting down on her lip. Fuck! I want to do that. I look back into her eyes and I can see some humor in them. She knows I want to kiss her?

"You requested me and that I have no other customers the rest of the night. So I'm exclusively yours for the night." She raises her eyebrows at me and I press my lips together and nod. Now I've got the humor in my eyes. I'm not willing to share her tonight. "Why?"

"I want your attention without the distractions of other customers." I tell her touching her hands that are on my knees. I want her undivided attention, who am I fooling. "I want to talk." I take her hands and helping her up, I get Abby to sit on the couch next to me. I keep hold of one of those soft hands and rest my arm across the back of the couch behind her, she doesn't sit back, but stays leaning forward.

"I'm not going to make any money tonight because of you." She tells me and I shake my head. She's not getting this. I'm not going to let her go without making money. I'll probably pay her more than what she normally makes, but that's because her time means more to me. I know she's worth a lot more than she gives herself credit for. Most people don't tip correctly and she doesn't make what she's really worth as it is. If she made what she was worth she wouldn't have to work three jobs. I'm planning on changing that. I'll make sure she makes enough working for me she doesn't need to worry about anything.

"I'll make sure you get what you would normally make. I won't take it back either. I did this so let me pay for whatever you would make." I ask for her permission this time. I'm hoping for something to go on here. I need something to tell me she's as interested in me as I am in her.

"You shouldn't have.... but okay. Mr. Steel, I really don't get why you want to talk to me?" Abby shook her head at me.

"Come on Abby, it's Oliver remember. Please? Mr. Steel is my father." I remind her. "And I want you to come work for me. I mean it. I need an assistant, I want you."

"Oliver... I don't know anything about show business." Abby whispers and smiles shyly at me and I feel myself want to pull her into my lap and kiss her. A throat clears next to me then another and I hear my sister giggle. I roll my eyes and see Abby laugh softly too.

"Abby this is Dylan and Mason my best friends. You met them at the restaurant the other night." I motion to the guys.

"Hey Abby!" Dylan waves to her.

"You should know Oliver doesn't usually chase girls. So this is actually fun for us to watch you give him a hard time." Mason teases me and I flip him off.

"The brunette down there is my sister, Katie." I see Abby relax and smile at Kate.

My sister leans over and takes Abby's hand. "It's nice to meet you. My brother hasn't said much about you, but he certainly made an effort in finding you tonight so that's something. I hope we can be friends." Kate always tries to reach out to girls I like to be friends with them. How they treat her tells me a lot about them.

"I'd like that. It's nice to meet you too." Abby looks at me then back to Kate "I'm not sure why Oliver is so determined here. I'm really not in the business."

"Oliver doesn't like girls in his business. I can't blame him. Most are self serving and want him for his money and position. It's not pretty." Kate tells her.

"I would think he gets that no matter where the girls are from." Abby says sadly. "I imagine that has to be hard on him, to find they only want his money, but he seems like a nice guy."

"It is, and he is, but he'd never tell you that." Kate grins over at me. "I like her, Olie!" That seals it for me. I've got to have her.

Abby

This just seems strange. I've never had any guy pursue me the way Oliver has. It's really nice that he's this interested in me, but I think it's just a passing phase for him. I'm a challenge nothing more. He's Oliver Steel, most eligible bachelor in LA. I'm not exactly a high class model or actress or from money in any sense. I bet he has more money in his pocket than I have in my bank account. His friends look at me like I'm a new science project and his sister.... she's someone I think I could actually be friends with. I don't understand Oliver though. He could have anyone work for him, why me?

I'm working, I'm not here as a guest to drink and have fun. I'm here to bring them food and drinks and serve them. He wants me to wait on him just like at the restaurant. Maybe that's it, he likes the idea of me waiting on him. Whatever, I've heard some of these stars have weird quirks. Maybe this is his way of getting me to work for him without having to pay me.

"Do you want something to eat?" I ask looking around at them. "The onion rings are good, but the potato skins suck. The nachos are good though." I remember what they ordered at the restaurant.

"Let's do both of those." Mason smiles big at me then at Oliver.

"Do you want a salad or vegetables or something? You said you're filming this week." I ask Oliver remembering what he said before to me.

"No thanks. I ate at the event. Did you eat earlier?" Oliver asks me and I shake my head no.

"I'll grab something on my way home." I tell him. "I'll put your order in. Do you want another round of drinks?"

"Please. Abby can you eat with us?" Oliver asks and I stand to leave shaking my head. I walk away and head down stairs. I need a few minutes away from him. I go over and enter in the food order first.

"How the hell did you land Oliver Steel requesting you, Abby?" I heard the question, knew the voice and closed my eyes. I didn't want to deal with her. She's one of the girls that will throw herself at Oliver just for his money.ย  Just like a lot of girls he deals with.

"I have no idea, Savanna." I can't stand her. I don't do fake friends and that's what she is. I walk away from her and head to the bar and request their drinks. I'm standing there waiting for a few minutes before Mark comes over to fill my order.

I looked up at Mark the bartender and gave him an eye roll and thumb behind me. He doesn't like her either. "Hey Mark." He grins and winks at me.

"Hey Angel Eyes, I haven't seen you all night. You up in VIP again?" Mark asks me and I nod. "Figured, the boys up there haven't taken their eyes off you since you came down here."

I turned and looked up and saw Oliver, Dylan and Mason looking down at me. Dylan and Mason waved, but Oliver looks mad. What did I do? That's when I see Savanna grin as she walks down the stairs. Shit! What did she do? Then I see Kate walking over to me. What is she doing down here?

"Kate? Is everything okay? Did you need something else?" I ask as she stands next to me and smiles at Mark.

"It's fine, sort of. Got a question though. Are you friends with the busty fake blonde who thinks with her tits?" Kate asks getting Mark to burst out laughing hard.

"That's Savanna and no. No one is friends with her. She's completely fake and lies through her teeth." I tell her with Mark nodding behind me, backing me up.

"Are you dating the hottie behind you who is watching every move you make?" Kate asks and I frown now turning to see who she's talking
