Chapter 32- Stalker problems

"Oh my god," Deandra exclaimed, "This is even worse that what I thought."

"Tell me about it," Rose grumbled as she sipped her coffee.

Rose had got little to no sleep last night. Daemon was also the same. He seemed more preoccupied with hugging Rose as tightly as he could like he expected someone to swoop in and steal her from under his nose.

Daemon had left early in the morning at 5 itself and sent Deandra to stay with Rose. Rose was currently on house arrest and Daemon had forbidden her from going to school.

At least Nate would get his job now, Rose thought.

And Daemon had left this early in the morning; that told Rose that he was taking this case very seriously. He had even taken a new assistant and made sure that Deandra was with Rose the whole time. Deandra hadn't been very happy to be awoken this early in the morning, but.

"Rose, do you know what this means?" Deandra asked as she looked at a picture of her and Rose sitting together two weeks ago.

"No Deandra, I am so fucking dumb that I don't understand a thing," Rose snarled.

"You didn't get any sleep, did you?" Deandra asked sympathetically.

"Of course I slept wonderfully. I slept so great that I feel like I can take on the world now," Rose said sarcastically.

"Yup, definitely didn't sleep," Deandra noted as she turned her attention back to the photos. There were over a few hundred photos.

Rose shivered.

"This is so bad," Deandra muttered, "This crazy ex boyfriend of yours has been stalking you for the past five or more years and taking photos of you doing virtually everything. Here is a photo of you eating, and here is a photo of you sleeping. Here is a photo of you in the gym. Why are there no bathroom photos but?"

Rose glared at her.

"Probably must have wanted to keep that for himself. Or maybe he was considerate enough to not give Daemon a heart attack," Deandra said.

"I am so tired," Rose muttered and she stood up. She walked to the sink and placed her mug in it and sighed.

"Daemon told me that he reported all this. He is very worried," Deandra said.

"When is he not?" Rose mumbled, "And, my friends Jace and Alec are coming over. Please don't freak out when you see Alec; I don't want to tell him about what we found out."

"Yeah, we have enough problems as it is," Deandra muttered. Rose sat back in her chair and tried to stop herself from welling up again. This was the fourth time this morning that she was bursting into tears.

The thought of someone watching her movements for he past couple of years put a fear so deep in her bones. Surprisingly, it was even worse than when she knew Sebastian was killing people. It had never hit her this bad.

But it was really silly of her to think that he must have never done that when he remained inactive for the past few years.

"I am seriously going to look into this," Deandra said as she opened her laptop. Rose knew that look immediately; Deandra looked like she had a theory.

"Maybe I should migrate to Antarctica or something. Live with the penguins and all," Rose sighed.

"I heard the polar bears are pretty rough in those areas," Deandra commented.

"Don't worry. I'll steer clear from them," Rose replied sarcastically.

They were interrupted by the ringing of a bell. To Rose's surprise, Deandra immeidtaley leaped from her chair and raced towards the door. Rose blinked a couple of times before she realized what exactly had happened.

She ran towards the door and saw Deandra peeping out through the hole. When Deandra noticed Rose, she immediately brought her finger to her lips, signaling her to remain quiet.

Rose was just confused.

She watched incredulously as Deandra removed a revolver from her front pocket.

Her best friend had a fucking gun with her...

Before Rose could react or do something, Deandra opened the door and leaped forward.

"HANDS UP! ALL OF YOU! ANYTHING THAT YOU SAY WILL BE USED AS EVIDENCE AGAINST YOU!"

Rose pulled a stubborn Deandra back and looked apologetically at the people outside.

Jace looked scared shitless. In fact, he actually had his hands up.

Alec, to her surprise, looked like he had expected more.

"I expected strangling as well," Alec commented casually as he noticed Rose's incredulous expression.

Jace looked even more frightened. Deandra, at last, had seemed to realize who was in front of them. She must have recognized Alec.

"So who is this hot chick?" Alec asked curiously. Rose ignored him.

"Did you both make up or something? Where is Nate?"

"Oh we were arguing," Jace said, nodding at Alec, "But a girl, who I have never seen before, jumping out with a gun kind of distracted us."

"Security," Deandra shrugged and frowned at Alec. Daemon must have brain washed her also.

Rose was very surprised. Usually, when they saw good looking people, Deandra never failed to acknowledge their looks. But she hadn't even spared a glance in that way at the two of them. Also, Alec and Jace definitely ranked in the top ten good looking men that Rose had ever met.

Though if Daemon knew, he would probably explode.

"What?" Jace asked confused.

"I'll explain; guys, come in," Rose said as she stepped in.

"Wait, I can't let anyone in without checking," Deandra said. To Rose's surprise, she started searching the two men.. Jace looked uncomfortable while Alec looked happier than she had ever seen him in the past few weeks.

"Fine," Deandra nodded and walked back into the house. Rose was mildly impressed.

"Who the hell is that?" Jace asked.

"That is Deandra, college bestie. Met her recently. She is Daemon's assistant."

"He actually went out of his way and put a body guard for you?" Alec asked disbelievingly.

Rose shrugged and entered the house with the other two following*g her. She noticed that Deandra was sitting on the sofa and looking at her laptop.

"Your husband is that protective?" Jace asked disbelievingly.

"You don't know half of it," Alec muttered.

"Where is Nate?" Rose asked.

"Oh, he was about to come but you know, this asshole told him that he would burn Nate if he stepped foot in your house," Alec shrugged.

"Let me guess, you both were fighting about that?" Rose sighed.

"I will rather cut off my balls that let him in here," Jace announced. Deandra looked up and raised an eyebrow at this.

"I don't get what you have against him you filthy..."

"Ok, enough both of you. I called you both here for something. The reason I didn't come to school was..." Rose started.

"You never come anyway. There is no big deal," Alec said.

"Shut up," Jace muttered and then turned to Rose, "Besides, we took leave today to keep you company."

"Thank you, guys. This means a lot to me," Rose said and moved to Jace to hug him.

Alec pushed Jace away and wrapped his arms around her waist.

Rose snorted and hugged him, not noticing Deandra's amazed look.

"I would hate to see what Daemon would do to you both if he sees this," Deandra noted.

That was enough for Rose to immediately put distance between herself and the boys.

Jace shrugged. Alec didn't look that put off either.

"So, what is the deal?" Alec asked. Rose pointed at the photos on the coffee table, a little surprised that they hadn't noticed it.

Jace's eyebrows furrowed as he picked one of the photos. Alec sat down on the chair and stared at the photos.

"What the hell?" Jace asked surprised.

"This is so creepy," Alec muttered.

"Yeah, I have a stalker."

.......................................................................................................................................................................

Without going into the case details, Rose quickly explained to them how her ex boyfriend was bothering her and about what happened the other night. She left out all parts about the murders.

Deandra didn't look very happy about sharing the information.

"This is so bad," Alec said as picked a photo of Rose driving, "You haven't even posed for even one of these photos. They were all taken when you weren't looking."

"No, Alec, I will most definitely pose for my creepy ex boyfriend," Rose said, rolling her eyes.

"Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit," Alec said.

"You must be very familiar with it then," Rose bit back.

"Do you want to get chewed out?" Jace asked Alec.

"So why don't you get a restraining order against him?" Alec asked.

"Well," Rose said as she chewed her bottom lip, "He is kind of supposed to be dead."

"Hmm..." Alec said with a nod, "Then it will be a little difficult."

Rose didn't know why both she and Alec started laughing at that. Jace rolled his eyes.

"You know, I didn't even realize that," Deandra said suddenly, "He even had a funeral."

"I was kind of busy avoiding everyone that day," Rose said.

"Wait, you knew about this ex," Alec asked Deandra, "Then why didn't you stop her from dating this dude."

Deandra snorted and looked down at her laptop, "Let's not go into that."

Jace looked curiously from Deandra to Rose who looked very sad all of a sudden.

Rose watched Jace as he walked up to her and hugged her.

"Everything will be just fine," he whispered. Before Alec could remove Jace, they all heard a yell.

Rose wasn't very surprised to see her husband at the door with a revolver in his hands.

"EVERYONE HANDS UP!"

"I wonder why I am getting a sense of déjà vu," Alec muttered.

If Jace looked scared when Deandra tried to shoot him; now he looked absolutely terrified.

Deandra didn't even look up.

"GET THE HELL AWAY FROM MY WIFE!" Daemon yelled and swiftly moved forward.

"State your name, age and purpose," he said again.

"Name, Alec Reed; age is 23 and purpose... I am still trying to figure that one out," Alec responded with a shrug. He looked like both he and Daemon were discussing the matter over a cup of tea and biscuits.

Jace's response was more understandable.

"What?"

"Ok, Daemon, cut this out. I told you I was having friends over," Rose said.

"But you didn't tell me it would be guys," Daemon said as he lowered his gun.

"Daemon, these three are the only friends I have. Who else will I call?" Rose said with her hands on her hips. Her eyes were also narrowed. It was a little shocking to see Daemon swallow with fright.

"Uhh..."

"Exactly."

"Wait," Daemon said as he turned to Deandra, "Didn't I tell you not to let him inside?"

Rose wasn't as surprised as Jace when Daemon pointed at Alec. Alec was as cool as a cucumber.

"You both know each other?" Jace asked Alec.

"Very intimately," Alec answered.

"Rose wanted them in, hence they are in. Her happiness means more to me than..." Deandra shrugged. Rose was very surprised that Deandra had not even looked up from her laptop once.

"Than what? My stupid orders?" Daemon fumed.

"Your words, sir. Not mine," Deandra said, "Now if you will excuse me, sir, I have work to do."

Daemon gaped at her before turning to Rose.

"Rosalyn, this is all your fault. She isn't scared of me because of you," Daemon said.

"No, Daemon. It is because you are just a teddy bear in the inside," Rose said.

Daemon looked like he would have liked to respond to that but he remained quiet when Rose hugged him.

"Is someone going to explain to me what is happening?" Jace said at last.

..............................................................................................................................................

This was completely useless.

Daemon had left his wife in the company*y of those two idiots reluctantly. His only relief was that Deandra was there and she didn't seem very pleased to have them either.

Though Daemon suspected that it might be due to jealousy.

Daemon was in his study with all the Reaper's letter including his latest one to his wife. He also had all the photos with him.

He clenched his jaw tightly when he browsed through the photos. There was a photo of her in a bikini. A fucking bikini.

Even he hadn't seen her in one and he was her husband.

A part of him was exceedingly jealous that this man was stalking his woman. Rosalyn was his woman, not public property.

The other part was the detective side who knew how serious the issue was. His wife was in danger and he wasn't sure if she knew it.

Honestly, he hadn't even shown quarter of his fright and shock to Rosalyn after they got the letter. He didn't want to scare the woman but truth was, he was terrified.

And on the other side, there was the case. He had talked to the latest victim's father. The man had a straight expression and Daemon wasn't entirely sure what was going on in his mind.

And Daemon had been a little preoccupied thinking of his wife.

Besides, he had got nothing important.

He shuffled through the pictures before a picture caught his attention.

It was a picture of Rosalyn in a pink summer dress walking in, presumably, a park. But what caught his attention was her age.

She looked barely 18. That meant that the picture was taken before the whole college drama.

Daemon heaved in disbelief and leaned back. She had definitely not posed for that photo so it couldn't have been got from some social media.

The Reaper was more dangerous than he thought he was. Daemon sighed in disbelief; this guy must have known Rosalyn from before itself and stalked her throughout. He must have purposefully dated her and tried to make her his.

And Rosalyn had no clue...

...........................................................................................................................................................................

"Look here, Rosalyn, I don't care if the world is falling down and you are the only one who can fix it- YOU ARE NOT LEAVING THE BLOODY HOUSE!"

"But, Daemon, I am bored..."

"The answer is no!"

"But..."

Daemon didn't bother responding and he cut the line. Stupid woman.

He leaned back on the wall and stared at the door. He couldn't believe that he was made to wait.

So what if he hadn't taken an appointment.

After realizing that the killer wasn't to be taken lightly, he had immediately come here to talk to the person who was experienced in this. He had never thought the day would come.

The door opened and the nurse came out.

"You may enter now, Mr. Spencer," she said.

"Oh really?" Daemon asked sarcastically as he pretended to bow forward for her.

The nurse rolled her eyes and walked away.

"It's all because of that stupid woman. Because of her, now no one fears me," Daemon muttered as he walked into the room and sat on the chair like he owned it.

The actual owner raised his eyebrows.

"Wow, Daemon, you remember the way to this place?"

"No, father, but I had it saved in my GPS," Daemon responded.

Dennis laughed and shook his head.

"I can't believe you are here Daemon, you never visit."

"Yeah, even I can't believe it," he said, "But I'm here for something very important. I might at last require your psychology skills."

"Case related?" Dennis asked.

Daemon hesitated and then said, "Kind of?"

"Ok. Rose related?"

"Wait... why would you automatically think that?" Daemon asked. Dennis shrugged.

"Those two are the only things you care about."

"That is not true, dad," Daemon said, "You know I care about you and the rest of you people."

Dennis observed him and then said, "Yes, you do. But you are ashamed to show it."

"I'm not..." Daemon said as he looked down and played with his fingers. Only his father could make him this nervous.

"Look here, son, I know why you are like this. I may not show it but I am not stupid. But you have misunderstood things... it isn't wrong to show that you care."

Daemon nodded, "How is Daegon?"

"Oh, he is coming back from school next weekend. He isn't taking any drugs, he isn't failing, the professors only call me twice a week about his behavior and he has an unlimited supply of condoms. So he is okay."

Daemon snorted and shook his head, "Only you, father, only you."

"Don't criticize my parenting skills. I did the same with you and you turned out just fine. Oh and he also misses Rose," Dennis added with a smirk.

"Ask him if he misses my fist," Daemon replied.

Dennis smiled and then he became serious.

"Okay, tell me what the problem is."

"You know I am working on a case, don't you?" Daemon asked.

"You're still on it? It must be bad then."

"Understatement. Anyway, it started with the murder on my wedding and I had started getting these letters from the killer who calls himself the Reaper."

"Letters, you say?" Dennis asked interested, "you have it now?"

"All of them," Daemon confirmed as he took out the letters from his very manly bag (Rosalyn was wrong. It didn't look like a female bag) and handed them to his father.

Dennis pored over it and then motioned for him to continue.

"Yeah, I got these letters always before the murder; kind of like warning me. Till now, two more murders had occurred and an extra woman was killed because she was related to one of them. Rosalyn got stuck in between."

"What?" Dennis asked as he looked up.

"She went snooping over my stuff and found the letters and pissed me off and then walked into one of the murders directly."

Daemon looked at the sudden redness of his father's face and then sighed, "You set her up for it, didn't you?"

"I was worried..."

"Father, you are worried then you ask me. Do you know the amount of trouble she is in now? If that killer had actually harmed her, I don't even know what I would have done," Daemon said angrily.

"I didn't know it was that bad," Dennis responded guiltily.

"Father, I keep you and Daegon out of my cases because I don't want any of it affecting you both. I thought you knew that. Then why would you involve her. When I saw her there all frightened and shivering, I had half a mind to just go somewhere else with her and never come back!"

"I didn't know you felt like that then..."

"I am a man of morals, father. I may not have liked her much then and I don't like her much now because she annoys me. But she is my wife and hence I care for her very deeply. I may as well be deeply in love with her now. I care for her and I respect her. I did so from the moment I kissed her first as my bride," Daemon said moving his hands around.

"What happened, son?" Dennis asked. He had never seen his son this affected and he was honestly surprised that his son cared for the woman who he swore to hate.

"One of the murders she walked into and the person turned out to be her ex who is supposed to stay dead. They had history in college. I started getting*g letters
