"Why can't I go? You're letting Ponyboy go!"
"I don't want him to but we do need him."
"I can help to! I'm damn good and you know it."
"Tay I said no and that's it."
"Darry I can help. Please." My boyfriend and I had been fighting for over 10 minutes about if I should go to the rumble or not.
"And you can help by being here ready to patch us up. Please doll. Stay here for me."
"That's not fair. You know I can't say no when you call me that." I pout and he wraps his arms around my waist.
"That's why I use it. And you won't be alone. Skylar is staying too. I love you. Stay put and don't do anything stupid while I'm gone."
"I won't. I love you too. Don't get hurt too bad."
"Hell those Socs won't know what hit them after this." Steve said jumping up from the table.
"Well I don't doubt that. But still be careful. Now get going don't want you to be late and make those Socs think you chickened out." The whole gang jumped up and ran out the door leaving me and Darry. "Promise you'll come back."

"I promise I'll come back. I may but bruised and bloody. But I'll be back." He kissed my forehead and ran out after the others.
A little while later I hear the door open again. Then I hear the voice of my best friend Sky.
"That damn hood. Idiot's gonna get himself killed."
"What's wrong Sky?"
"My stupid boyfriend broke out of the hospital and is going to the rumble."
"Well my stupid boyfriend wouldn't let me go to the rumble at all. We can both sit here and be pissed off together."
She sighed and sat next to me on the couch. *time skip brought to you by Sky's craziness.*
It felt like hours before the gang finally walked back to the house.
"What happened? Did we win? Where's Pony and Dally? Oh my god your face." I said jumping up as soon as I saw Darry.
"We won. They ran for it. Dally and Pony disappeared." He sounded like he would pass out any minute and the others didn't look to good either.
"All of you sit down. Sky help me check them over. Hopefully none of them need s doctor." The boys all threw themselves onto any chair or clear space on the floor they could as Sky and I got to work patching them up. No one seemed to beat just bloody and bruised.
"Where could Pony and Dally be? Shouldn't they be here?" Sky said pacing the floor.
"I'm sure they are fine Sky. Probably went to tell Johnny the Socs got beat." I said trying to calm her down. At that moment Ponyboy finally walked in the door. I knew if I wasn't sitting on his lap Darry would have gotten up to most likely yell at him. Then we all saw his face.
"Ponyboy, Pony what's wrong? Where's Dallas?" I got up and walked over to him. He was shaking.
"Johnny's dead. And Dally, he's going crazy. He's not okay. He's gonna do something."
"Oh honey, go clean up. Then we will talk." I tried to smile at him but it failed as he walked away.
"Dallas will be okay. He's always okay. He will go blow off steam then he will be back." Sky tried to sound optimistic but we all knew it was a lie. Pony came back in a few minutes later cleaner after a shower and sat on the floor next to Two-Bit. After a few minutes of the silence the phone rang and Darry answered.
"It's Dallas. He's in trouble we have to hide him." He said and we all got up and started running to Dallas. We finally got to him... the same time the cops did.
When Sky saw them pull guns she ran out in front of Dallas. "No. No! Don't shoot."
Bang. She went down and then another bang and Dally went down too. We hurried over to them in a mix of emotions of anger and sadness. Greaser always lost to many loved ones since they loved so few. After what felt like hours at the hospital and talking to the police they let us go home. Steve and Two-Bit both headed home leaving just the four of us. They all started to go to there own rooms but I stopped them.
"No. We need to talk about this. We have to stop bottling up our emotions. That doesn't end well. Dally just proved that. Sit down and talk." They all look at me like I'm crazy but sit down anyway.
"We can't keep losing people." Soda spoke up his once shiny eyes dull. "I'm sick and tried of losing people."
"It's just us now. Well Steve and Two but really it's just us."  Pony said a few tears escaping.
"It's okay to cry Pony. You don't have to act tough right now." This is one of the few times in our relationship I saw my boyfriend being this way to his little brother. I knew he was telling himself this as well.
"But we're gonna be okay. We're always okay. It make some time but someday we will be okay." I assured them a few of my own tears falling for my now dead best friend. After a few minutes of us just crying we all went to bed trying to think of ways to make tomorrow okay.
