Xavier's POV-

I still could not believe what had happened at her place. I was on cloud nine. I didn't realize when I reached my house. I entered in with a big smile on my face.

My mom and dad were sitting in the hall. I suddenly felt that the atmosphere there was gloomy.

My mom saw me first. "Where were you? Were you with Anna? How is she? Does her uncle-aunt still harassing her?" I looked worried like she was expecting that Anna's family could harm her physically or something.

"She is fine mom. Why are you freaking out? What had happened?" I asked them.

"Dad?" I looked at my dad. David came out of the kitchen with three mugs of coffee I guessed.

"Xav, you come and sit down. Uncle has something to tell you but you have to let him complete it first. Okay?" David said calming me down.

"What the hell is going on guys? You are scaring me now?" I said as I sat on the sofa in front of them. I looked intendedly at my dad.

"Son, as you know, I have been regularly meeting with the shareholders of Anna's company. To find out what her uncle-aunt is planning. In between that, I heard some rumors about her parent's death. Those were just rumors so to find out the truth, I had this matter investigated. And it seems to be true. They do have hands in her parent's death." My dad told me this shocking news, no strange mom was so worried about it.

Anna doesn't know about it. She will break if she found out this.

There is a photo of Anna's uncle meeting a man and giving him money. He was a truck driver." Dad said. It was too much to take in.

"Anna's parents died in a hit and run car accident. They were hit by a truck. The driver is still missing, but there was no police report of that case. They didn't even try to find out the driver or get him arrested." My mom was still a little freaked out from all this information.

I don't know what to do?  What to tell her? Should I leave this matter? There will be no use but still, she deserves to know the truth about her parent's murder.

"Xav, her birthday is within a week. We should be careful. Because if they had done this before, they can do it again. You know what I mean." David said.

I, my mom-dad both, we all straighten up after hearing that. What David said, that could be possible. Anna's uncle-aunt are awful people. We can not ignore this fact.

"Bring that child to our home." Mom said. She was all ready to take her under her protective wings.

"Darling, that will alert them. They will use their full strength to hurt her." My dad tried to make mom understand.

"Yes, mom. I can not make her stay here without any reason. She is still under their care and I don't want Anna to know about any of this until we find out a way to clear this whole situation." I said.

"She is turning 18, and she has changed from what she used to be. They will surely try to harm her because they know that now Anna will not get under their pressure. We have to be very cautious from now on." David said.

"We can't be with her for 24 hours," I said thinking of a way out of that.

"It's exactly 4 days from her birthday. Why don't you take her on a trip? At least two days will be passed. We will see afterward." David suggested.

My mom and dad agreed with the idea.

Which parents in this world will be this open-minded to let their young son go on a trip with a girl alone? Only mine.

"She will not agree," I told them.

"Why? Are not you two dating?" Mom said confused.

"Mom, the first thing, we are not dating... yet. I made a big mistake, I was making up for that today. And second, even if we were dating, she would not have come on a trip with me alone. She is not that bold type. So change the idea." I informed them.

All three of them sighed.

"Why don't all of you go. David, your girlfriend is her friend too. Right. Why don't you four go on a trip?" Dad said.

"Yes, you can go to your grandparent's beach house. It is vacant for a year. You can take a look if everything is fine over there."

"That's a good idea." All agreed on it.

Now, what was left was to make her agree on it. I will ask her tomorrow.

With that, we all dismissed the meeting and went into our rooms.

Anna's POV-

I woke up with a bright smile on my face. I remembered yesterday night's event.

While he was kissing me, my hand collided with the alarm clock on my study table and it fell.

Because of that sound, my aunt must have woke up and came to see what had happened.

Luckily she asked from the door and didn't enter the room.

She asked what was the noise of?

"I thought I saw a rat on the table, so to scare it away, I throw my pillow at it and the alarm clock fell my mistake," I told her.

It was so embarrassing my face must be red.

"Are you still scared? Why your face is getting red?" She asked.

"Nothing," I said. She left after that. I locked the door after she left.

It was hard to look into Xavier's eyes. He came closer and kissed my cheeks.

"I am afraid that you will get permanently red if you blushed any longer. So it is better that I should go now." He said. I looked at him disappointed.

"I promise I will be the first face you will see tomorrow morning, but right now you have to go to sleep." He took my hand and lead me to my bed.

"Now lay down and close your eyes." I did what he asked for.

He switched off the lights and tucked me in the bed.  He bent over and kissed my eyes.

"Dream of me." He whispered and then went out through the window.

I got up in a very happy mood. I was looking forward to seeing him today.

Today I felt like nothing could go wrong. I was ready to head out of my room when my phone rang. I picked up without seeing, who was it.

"Why your curtains are on. I can not see you." Xavier said.

"Where are you?" I asked. I opened my window curtain and there he was standing in front of my house. He was wearing shorts. That's not his style.

"See, I fulfilled my promise. Now get ready, because we are going on a trip to the beach. Dress accordingly." He said.

I saw David and Kate came out of the car. They both were waving at me.

"Are you crazy? How can I come so suddenly? I didn't ask my uncle-aunt." Hearing their name, I saw his expression changed. He looked angry.

"You don't need their permission. You are coming and that's final. Otherwise, I will come and take you personally. Choose fast." He said controlling his anger.

Why is he so angry at them? They don't bother me anymore.

I got downstairs. I told my aunt about it. She didn't say anything, just nodded.

I called Kate and told her to come over to my room. I need her help to pack appropriately. I never go on a trip with a guy before, so I have no idea what should I take and whatnot.

"Kate it is exposing too much."

"No, it's not."

"Kate, why do I need this lace lingerie? It's not like I am going to show it to anybody."

"No one knows, what may happen there."

"Kate, now this nightdress is too much. Why the hell did I ask for your help? Let me do it myself. I regret becoming your friend."

"Babe, you love me and you will love me even more after this trip."

After an hour of packing (bickering), we finally ready for the trip.

I head out and Xavier was standing near the passenger door. I stood in front of him. The flashes of last night came to my mind and my face warmed up again. He was looking at me intently.

His facial muscles were tight like he was holding himself back. But I think after seeing me blush, he loosens up and cracked a smile.

He was looking at me like I am some kind of wonder. I love this look in his eyes. Like I am very precious to him.

I looked down shying away from his eyes. He chuckled and bent down.

I looked up and instantly he stole a kiss. I looked at him with wide eyes.

"Not my mistake. Who told you to look this cute in front of a guy who is head over heel for you." Xavier explained his action.

He then opened the door for me. Put the seat belt for me and kissed the side of my head before closing up the door.

"Did we miss something? Why the atmosphere around us seems so changed suddenly?" Kate teased.

Xavier entered and started the engine.

"It's a long drive so get yourself comfortable," Xavier said.

"Let's hit the road," Kate screamed and head to our destination.
