"So let me guess: you're going to drive off to some deserted part of the country and dump me so that I have to walk back again? Or do you have something new in mind?"

He doesn't say anything but increases the volume of the music playing in the car to drown your voice. Rolling your eye, you sink deeper into the passenger seat. He's been driving for a while now and despite coming up with numerous questions to coax the information of your destination out of him the result is always the same: silence.

There's something odd about him today, he's awfully quiet. His shoulders are set in a stiff line. Every now and then you see the muscle in his jaw jump as his focus stays on the road ahead. You contemplate asking him if he's alright but knowing it's only going to result in silence you convince yourself out of it.

The car comes to a halt. "Alright.. Get out."

With a start, you look around for the source of the voice only to realise it's Jungkook. He's still not looking at you.

"Where on earth are we?" The road before you is a winding thin strip of dark grey, on either side of it tower mansions.

"All you need to know is that we're meeting a renowned producer. I've been trying to convince him to work with me but he's declined so far-"

"I can't imagine why." You mutter to yourself sardonically.

"You need to do your job as my manager and get me the deal." He finishes in the same matter of fact tone.

"What makes you think he's going to listen to me when he hasn't been convinced by you?"

"Try to impress him," He then turns his head to look at you from head to toe, taking in your blue sweater and ripped jeans that may not have been ripped when you bought them years ago.

"Maybe that's asking for a lot."

"Well maybe if you'd given me prior noticed I would've gussied up for your Royal Majesty."

"Not like that would have helped much anyway." You open your mouth to protest but he gets out of the car just then. You follow suit.

The mansion Jungkook's walking towards is massive. Intricate patterns twist and turn on the black gate that arches like wings of a fallen angel. As he places his hand on the gate it opens with an audible groan. Glancing back to see if you're still following, he steps through it. You jog to catch up.

"Aren't you supposed to ring a bell or something? I'm sure this is considered trespassing." You're greeted with silence again.

If you thought the mansion looked massive from out, you were most certainly underestimating its grandeur. Inside, a palace-like structure sits in the middle of the most colourful garden you've ever seen.

"Wahhh.." You turn in place trying to take in as much as possible.

"Please, close your mouth," Jungkook's voice snaps you out of your daze. "Also, try not to embarrass me."

You stick your tongue out as he walks through the garden and towards the mansion. As he stretches his hand out the door opens on its own. Your eyes widen to form two perfectly circular orbs.

A man in a black suit materializes out of thin air his hand resting on the handle of the door. He's the perfect replica of the butler you've seen in those fancy movies. Well-tailor suit, perfectly styled hair and shoes so polished you could see your reflection in them.

"Yes? How may I help you?" He speaks formally yet his tone is monotonous, the furthest thing from welcoming, as if he's asked that question too many times.

"I'm here to meet Jinwoo-shi," Jungkook says.

"He's not at home." He delivers another well-practiced line.

"I see. I presume he's gone out for a walk on a sunny day like this," Jungkook looks down at his watch. "That too at 2PM."

"He's out of town." The man begins to lose his composure.

"Yet he left his car in the garage."

"Let them in." This time it's not the butler who speaks. The voice comes from within the house, it has a melodic ring to it yet he sounds bored.

The butler moves out of the way gesturing for you to enter. As you follow Jungkook in you try very hard to keep your jaw from dropping to the floor. You blink several times trying to adjust to the shocking brightness of the interior, almost everything in the house is white, cream, gold or a related colour. This somehow makes the paintings on the walls stand out.

"Oh hello.. To what do I owe this pleasure?" He does not sound pleased by any measure. His eyes narrowed to for a mean look.

"Since, you've been ignoring of all of my attempts to contact you I thought I'd pay you a friendly visit." Jungkook sounds uncharacteristically nervous despite his confident words.

The man descends an elegant marble staircase, his hands in his pockets. "It's the same old proposal then?" There's something about his voice that makes you nervous.

"You haven't given me the opportunity to show you any of my work." The impatience in Jungkook's voice is starting to show. You're beginning to lose faith in Jungkook.

"Can you really blame me for not wanting to work with a man that kissed my girlfriend in my very own house?" The loathing in his voice is difficult to miss.

You snap your head to stare at Jungkook, startled. He gulps yet doesn't defend himself. This man has the audacity to look him in the eye after messing around with his girlfriend? Jungkook just should be happy he hasn't shot him yet.

You eye the rifle hanging over the fireplace.

"I was hoping we could move on from that incident," Jungkook suggests feebly.

You snort a little too loudly. The man, who you now realise must be Jinwoo, looks at you for the first time. His eyes glimmering with fascination. "And who is this pretty young lady? Your girlfriend?"

"NO!" Jungkook and you both say in unison. Your voices panicked.

Jinwoo lets out a genuine laugh startling you both, the wrinkles around his eyes are the only indication of his age. "Oh, how interesting." Even though fascination continues to dance in his eyes there's something else there too, a look that says he knows something you don't.

Eager to change the subject you extend your hand, "I am Y/N. Jungkook's Manager." Instead of shaking your hand he takes it in his, bringing it up to his lips he places a kiss. You blush at the unexpected gesture.

"It's lovely to meet you." He says as his eyes turn to Jungkook with a ghost of a smile.

"I understand this is supposed to be a business meeting but I was rather curious about something, Jinwoo-shi." You can feel Jungkook's glare burning through your skull.

"Curiosity is a good thing. Ask away, then." The older man's voice emanates excitement, urging you're on.

"I'm intrigued by the paintings in the house," As his eyes glow you know you're headed in the right direction. "I felt like there's a story there. Around how the colours stand out in an otherwise plain surrounding.."

"You have quite a good eye." He turns to Jungkook then. "You've got yourself a good one."

Jungkook merely forces a smile, you know he's trying very hard not to scoff.

"And you are quite right, young lady. That's the effect I was trying to create, I wanted the paintings to stand out so they themselves could tell the viewer their story." He moves to stand next to the piano, above it against the wall hangs another painting of entwining black and white patterns. "To many people, this just seems like nothing more than a background for the majestic piano-"

"But in reality, it speaks of harmony, in the way the black and white, colours that are often considered opposites, blends together beautifully," you look deeper into the painting. "Just like the keys on the piano used to make music."

"Very well done." Jinwoo gives you a bright smile.

"Stop smiling to yourself. You look like a psychopath." You say glaring at Jungkook as he smiles to himself.

"I can't believe he agreed to produce my songs." He's beaming now. Somewhere deep down some crazy part of you is happy to see him like that.

"Yeah, your welcome."

Jungkook had known you would be a useful tool in his hand when convincing Jinwoo as he was an admirer of pretty things. But what he hadn't expected was for you to impress the man to the extent you had.

"How did you know he liked art so much?"

"Are you blind?" You snort. "That was the easiest part. His mansion had at least 15 paintings on just the 1st floor. He had paint stains on his shirt and dried paint under his nails. It was like putting two and two together." You hold up 4 fingers as if without the visual aid Jungkook wouldn't comprehend.

He raises an eyebrow. "You sounded like you know a lot about art."

You laugh. "Tell me then, what did you see in that painting over the piano?"

"Just black and white patterns," He says plainly.

"Exactly. That's all I saw too."

"Wait a minute so all that jazz about the harmony of colours and the black and white blending together beautifully was just bluffing?" He looks at you, mouth gaping open and shock widening his round eyes.

"110%. I just took an educated guess," You smile proudly. "I don't know the first thing about art."

"Then how did you...?"

"It's called using your brain but you wouldn't know about it."

He had finally got the deal he'd wanted for so long... and it was all because of you.
