Elijah pales.

He points to the hallway, but when I turn around, no one's there. I frown. "What's wrong?" I ask. Aaron's eyes are wide too. "Oh my God," he mumbles, shaking his head.

"What? What? Oh no, did Jules hear me?" I ask, terrified. My bodyguard is such an annoying human being, I can't do anything but complain about him.

Then I hear it. A door slammed. A scream. Beating against the wall.

"What's that?" Aaron looks up at me, his eyes filled with worry. "Owen just heard that. I think it sounded like you were talking about him," he whispers. I gasp, covering my mouth. Elijah nods.

Oh no.

"I need to go to him. I need to tell him it's not about him," I panic and rush to the hallway. Jordan grabs my wrist and holds me from going. "Jordan! He's in pain!" I yell.

Ethan runs off to Owen's door. "No, don't you hear his beating? Ethan will go in first, Owen will never forgive himself if he hurts you."

But... but...

I shake my wrist free from his grip and run after Ethan, who just got in. I gasp at the mess Owen made. But he isn't here anymore.

The door to his bathroom is open. I point to it and Ethan nods, opening the door more. I hear his breath hitch. "Call an ambulance, right now!" he yells. I start crying and run back to Jordan. His eyes widen.

"Ethan said to call an ambulance right now. Please. What if Owen dies? I don't know what's going on, but Ethan sounded shocked. Call now," I shout and run back to Owen's room.

"Come on, bud, stay with me. Owen!" Ethan yells. I run to the door, which is half closed again. "Ethan? Can I come in?" I sob. I hear him curse. "Princess, there's a lot of blood. Why don't you go wait for the ambulance?"

No. I want to help.

I open the door and gasp. Owen is lying on the floor, covered in blood. It's coming from his arms, which are cut open. I gasp again and kneel down, pressing a cloth to it. If I press it hard enough, it'll slow down.

I look next to me and see Ethan has tears in his eyes. "Ethan! Do the same as me. It's not much, but it'll help," I shout and he nods. He gets up to take a cloth from the counter, but takes a notebook instead.

He shakes his head and gives it to me, now mirroring my movement. It's a note from Owen. A suicide note.

I'm sorry. Life got too dark without Scarlett.

"No! He's so annoying, always with his stupid jokes! I'm serious, Jordan, why don't you just kick him out? And he's always home late."

"And did you see what he was doing at work today? He was acting like a child"

I lost her guys. I never had her. Take care of her.

Owen

Tears stream down my cheeks. "No! Owen, I wasn't talking about you," I cry.

Strong arms pick me up and take me away from Owen. "No!" I yell, struggling to get free. The person turns me around. It's Aaron.

"Scarlett, you have to let the paramedics through! Let them save him," he says in a calm voice. I sob and slump in his arms.

He takes me out of the room. I cry in his arms. "Will he make it?" I sob. Aaron shows no expression on his face. I sob louder.

"He won't, right?"

He sighs. "I really hope he does, sunbeam. But his wounds are just... he cut them good," he tells me.

The paramedics walk out of the bathroom, with Owen on a stretcher. I run to them. "Can I come with you? Please," I beg them.

They look at each other for a moment. "Ma'am, not in this condition. You're very upset."

I narrow my eyes. "Of course I'm upset! He just tried to... Please," I sob. "If someone else can go with you, you can come," he nods. They leave after that.

"Please, Owen, fight."

I beg the guys to bring me to the hospital. But they think I should shower first.

"No! What is wrong with you? Owen is fighting for his life and you think I should shower?"

I can't believe this. "Just, Princess, I know you want to go. We will go. But I shouldn't expect too much. His injuries are bad, and we're not sure he'll make it," Ethan softly says.

I narrow my eyes and glare at all four of them. "He will make it. So what, you're just gonna give him up? Well, I'm not. And you know what? I can drive myself."

I take my keys and walk to my car, beside myself from anger. Once in my car, I break down in tears. How can they give up Owen?

Owen, who's always kind. Owen, who never broke anyone's trust. Owen, the playful boy who owns my heart.

The car door opens and I'm being picked up. I look up, seeing it's Jordan. He starts walking away from my car. "No, Owen," I cry.

"I know, I know. We're taking my car, baby," he whispers. He places me on the passenger seat and gets in on the driver's seat.

We start driving, and I wipe my tears away. "Why?" That's the biggest question.

He sighs. "I don't know the real reason, baby, but I think he wasn't really in a good place. I think he was just pretending to be happy, and I think you were the only reason he held on. And then he heard you talking about Jules and it must have sounded like you were talking about him."

Tears well up in my eyes. "You think he'll make it? That he'll fight?"

He sighs again. "I don't know."

I sigh, too. "I'm mad at the others," I grumble. He frowns. "Why? Ethan helped you," he reasons.

I think about that. "Okay, I'm mad at Aaron and Elijah." He cocks an eyebrow and parks. "Aaron picked you up to let the paramedics through."

I roll my eyes. "Elijah, then." He shrugs. "You mike him too much to really be mad at him. He's your soft spot," he grins and gets out.

Frowning, I get out too and walk inside. Jordan follows me, and together we walk to the counter. The woman gasps as she sees me. I realize my shirt and hands are drenched in Owen's blood.

"Oh, no no. I helped someone who got in here. Owen Jewel?" She nods. "Room 312. He's still unconscious."

I thank her and run to the room. Jordan follows me by step. I walk in the room and see Owen laying there, all pale and still.

I run to him and take his hand in mine. "Oh God, Owen. What did you do to yourself?" I whisper, tears streaming down my cheeks. I feel Jordan's hand on my back, rubbing it.

I turn around and cry into his chest. He hugs me. "Baby, it'll be okay. You know why? Because it's Owen. He's strong," he whispers.

The doctor comes in. "Oh, yes he is. We've seen people in way worse shapes than he is, yet he's still not stable. But, if he has something to fight for, he will."

But... he believes he doesn't. I was the reason he held on, and he still thinks he lost me. Oh God.

The doctor leaves and I turn to Owen. I take his hand back in mine and sit on the edge of his bed. Can he hear me?

"Owen, keep fighting. You're doing so well, sweetie. Scarlett is here, and she isn't going anywhere else. She likes you so much, don't ever believe something else," I tell him.

His heart rate stays the same. It's not slowing down, so I guess it's a good thing.

I crawl in his bed, making sure I don't break something. But maybe now he feels I'm here?

I keep his hand in mine, and close my eyes. Please, Owen, keep fighting. For me.

The door opens again, but I don't look. "How is he?"

"Is he okay?"

"Will he make it?"

Thank God. They came too. "He's not stable yet, but they think he's fighting. We'll have to wait," Jordan informs them. Ethan stands next to me. "Scarlett, I'm sorry. You were right."

I nod, but don't look. I'm staying here, Owen. Please don't leave me.
