Angel

Regret.

Regret was something I'd never felt before, partly because I didn't give a shít what I'd done, or hurt.

Though it was something I was feeling at the moment, it was the only thing I could feel besides rage.

I shouldn't have left her alone in the room. She's gone because I couldn't control my fucking anger issues.

Because of me, the one person I fùcking love in this shítty world is now in danger.

As Lycian continued lecturing me, emphasising how I shouldn't have been so inconsiderate, I tugged on my hair. To be honest, I stopped listening after that.

"Shut the fuck up, Lycian." I say all too calmly.

He immediately closes his mouth and looks away from me.

"We're in the process of getting a location." As he enters through the door, Elio announces.

Daisy had been missing for twenty-four hours, and I was starting to lose my mind.

"She's got something planned, she'll want something." Drake points out.

While I briefly listen, I see them all exchange ideas and reasons.

"Where's my father?"

They all look at me, focusing their entire attention on me.

"I think he's sending men out." Drake responds.

I scoff and rise from my stool.

Like hell he is.

I instantly turn around and walk away from them, ignoring their questions. As I walk up the stairs, I take my gun from my waistband.

When I open the conference door, I see my father sitting at the head of the table.

Along with the Russian mafia's don.

My father gives me a cold stare that is identical to mine.

"How long will it take?" I ask the group in charge of finding her.

My hand twitched, ready to shoot anyone who got in my way.

"It'll take some time to get the present location, even though we know they're not far away; they're still in this town." Says one of the men.

Out of frustration, I run my hand through my hair and turn around to leave.

"Angel." I hear my father's voice from behind me.

I feel my jaw tighten and my eyes roll as I turn around to face him.

Like mine, he stares at me emotionlessly.

"We'll find her." He says sternly.

I give him a blank stare before turning around and exiting the room.

He couldn't care less about her, all he cares about is finally having the Slavic's location.

I retrace my steps back down the stairs, heading directly for my car.

"Romano, where you going?" Elio calls from behind me.

"Out." I reply bluntly without turning back and exiting the mansion.

I needed to clear my mind, I had no idea what the fùck they were doing to Daisy right now, and to be honest, I didn't want to know.

Thinking about it had just made me more tense and enraged than I already was. And my need to kill was eating me alive.

I got into my vehicle and started it up.

I grabbed a cigarette and my lighter before speeding away, placing it between my lips and inhaling the smoke.

As the wind swept through me, I sped through the busy streets, flying past numerous cars.

Even though I had no knowledge of where I was going, my subconscious took me there uncontrollably.

As I drove down the road to where the familiar beach was located, the sun began to drop.

I pulled into an empty spot and parked my car.

I stroll over to the bench that was placed in the middle of the sand after getting out of the car and sit down, leaning back and relaxing in the seat.

I lit another cigarette, which was the second only thing that could physically calm me down.

When I put the stick between my lips and ignite it, the smoke briefly clouds my eyesight before blending in with the breeze.

I stand motionless as the moon takes the place of the sun, my body relaxed but my mind was nowhere near it.

As I sat aimlessly on the beach, memories flooded my mind. The waves, sand, and moon were the same as the night we met.

I'd just finished a job for my father and had come here to meet Drake and Lycian, who were both here at the party.

My gaze was drawn to a small girl resting on the sand, her long curls cascading down her back as she silently observed the moon.

I could only see her from behind, but there was a peculiar pull towards her that I couldn't describe, even as my body had moved towards her.

I sat calmly next to her, not glancing at the girl yet, despite the fact that I could feel my heart halt when I did.

I had no idea what I was doing at the time, and I despised the sensation, as well as the power she wielded over me with just a glance. It was irrational and unnecessary.

But the world came to a halt for me when I peered into her dark glossy eyes.

I studied her features as she studied mine, and I could tell she knew who I was because she tensed up significantly, yet it didn't stop me from drawing to her any closer.

Her features, especially in the moonlight, were purely angelic.

Her hair was a deep midnight black, long and curly. Her complexion was light, yet it had an olive tint to it. She had a delicate small button nose and high cheekbones. Her eyes were a chocolate brown colour, yet they turned caramel in the light. Her lips, in particular, were something I was immediately taken to. They were plump and red, and they had only enhanced her beauty.

And then she talked, her voice soothing to my ears; I despised anybody talking to me or engaging in any form of discussion with me unless it was absolutely necessary. Her voice was smooth and silky, but it was quiet and soft, and I found myself wanting to listen to it all day.

I didn't realise it at the time, but I knew I needed her. Daisy was something I needed in my already screwed life, and I couldn't care less if I brought her into the mess.

I craved for her on a daily basis; I wanted her with me at all times, beside me through it all.

The thought of her being hurt or with someone else was something I feared.

I was selfish for only wanting her for myself, regardless, I didn't care.

My gaze was drawn upwards to the now dark sky, where the moon shone brightly despite being partially hidden by the passing clouds.

As I thought of my precious moonlight, I closed my eyes.

Unfortunately, the tranquillity was short-lived as a gunshot was heard from behind me, jolting me back to reality and causing me to become fully alert.

I took out my gun and pointed it in the direction of the gunshot.

A second shot came from the same direction, however, nobody could be seen.

I kept shooting in that direction until the gunfire came to a halt in their direction.

I walked over to where the bullets were coming from, completely furious.

As I went behind the bushes, a man dressed in black was shot in the shoulder, blood seething from the wound. I knelt down to his level and pushed the blade I had gotten from my shoe against his throat.

"Who?" I question darkly.

He flashed me a glare, which irritated me even more.

I wrapped my hand around his neck and drew his face closer to me.

"Fucking talk," I grunted and dug the blade into his throat as the blood drained from his neck.

He shakes his head, refusing, as he coughs out blood.

Knowing he wouldn't speak, I yanked his head back onto the floor.

I take my gun and aim it at his other shoulder before mercilessly pressing the trigger.

He yells in pain, knowing that now he had a bullet in each shoulder, he would die a long, painful death.

With that, I turn around and return to my car.
