Daisy

My lips had moved freely and had been placed on his.

I kissed him passionately, and he kissed me back with just as much passion.

His hands were all around my waist, and mine was wrapped loosely around his neck.

As the wind blew freely around us, our lips moved naturally.

I grinned against his lips as I drew my lips away from him.

"This is cliche." I mumble against his lips.

A breathless laugh leaves his lips possibly making me melt.

He pecks my lips once more before grabbing my waist and pulling me into his lap.

My ears listen to his steady heartbeat as I rest my head against his chest.

After a few more minutes, we were finally back on the ground.

Angel and I exited through the open doors.

We started walking hand in hand, we were heading towards the exit and my eyes caught onto the fairy floss stall next to the exit.

"Do you mind if I get some before we leave?" I ask as I gesture to the stall.

He nods and leads us over to the site.

I take a look around the area, my eyes catching sight of all the wonderful attractions. I adored the carnival because it was the only time I felt fully alive and like a regular teenager.

Angel placed my order and paid for it; I thanked him as usual, and he reacted with a nonchalant shrug.

As he listened to the person on the other end of the phone, I noticed his eyes concentrating on me.

I've noticed that when he thinks, his head tilts just a little and his eyes are always blank.

I found it cute.

I shifted my gaze away from him and observed the man preparing the wonderful surgery treat.

The man producing the fairy floss then slumped to the ground in the blink of an eye as a silent bullet passed through him.

As his body pooled with blood, I stepped back in surprise.

Angel saw this too as he hung up the phone and turned around to check behind him.

His face became as cold as ice, and he quickly wrapped his arm around me and pushed me behind him.

To see what was going on, I peered around his back.

Masked black-clothed men stood around the perimeter, large guns aimed at us. A tall muscular man, who appeared to be the commander, stood in front of them all.

He smiled evilly at us as he made long, deliberate steps towards us and came to a halt a good distance away.

"Romano." He greets him with a hushed tone and a foreign accent.

Angel looks at him blankly, looking completely unaffected by the situation. Though his hold on me told me otherwise.

"We haven't met yet, I'm the underboss of the Sluvics leader." The man says with a smile as he holds his hand out to Angel.

Angel's jaw ticks as he simply stares at it before returning his gaze to the man.

This amused the man, who started laughing. He drew his empty hand behind his back and retracted it.

"What do you want?" Angel asks emotionlessly.

The man's smile fades as he clasps his hands together.

"Straight to business, I see." He says.

Angel patiently waits for him to talk, to which he eventually does.

"Keep your men out of our territory." The man says darkly.

"Or, face the consequences." He ends.

Angel laughs darkly.

"And what are they, hm?" He asks tilting his head with a smirk.

The man straightens up and turns to face me, gazing behind Angel.

The look he gave me made me shiver.

"Her." He says.

Angel's amusement had faded, and his arm had tightened even more around me. I massaged his hand soothingly in an attempt to soothe him.

"Even if you wanted to, you couldn't." Angel states in a daring tone.

The man chuckles and indicates something to the men, which causes them all to point their weapons in my way.

My eyes dilate, and I clutch Angel's arm.

As a gunshot rang out from behind me, I let out a frightened scream.

In a split second, the man in front of us fell to the ground.

Everyone seemed to be silent, and I turned around to see Drake, Elio, and Lycian standing behind us.

The masked men appeared to have recovered from their shock and began firing gunshots.

Everyone started shooting at each other, as Angel quickly slung me over his shoulder and began striding away.

As we approached an alleyway, Angel immediately sat me down.

"Do not leave this spot." Angel orders coldly.

He then reaches into his waistband and hands me a handgun.

"In case anything happens." He said.

He kissed my cheek and jogged back to where everything was going down.

I took a deep breath and leant against the wall, silently praying that he would be fine.

Though I knew he would, he always is.

I close my eyes and rest my head against the wall behind me.

Suddenly my eyes shoot open as a hand slips over my mouth and another around my neck.

Out of shock, the gun in my hand drops to the ground.

Fùcking idíot.

I lock my gaze on the masked man who is clutching my throat.

He chuckles darkly, and the sound sends shivers up my spine.

"Well, Daisy Viola," The man spoke, his voice muffled by the mask, but it seemed familiar for some reason, though not enough for me to recall who it reminded me of.

My emotions were calm, as were my eyes.

In these situations, one thing my dearest cousin taught me was to always remain cool.

If you don't do what you're instructed, you'll irritate them even more. It was just preferable to earn their trust.

His grip on my throat remained firm, but the grip on my mouth relaxed gradually.

The sound of shouting and gunshots surrounded us, making it nearly hard for anyone to hear me, so that was eliminated out.

"I'll shoot you if you scream." He whispers darkly while pointing his pistol at my temple.

I give a slight nod.

He then slowly and carefully removes his hand from my lips, leaving his hand on my throat, which he tightens threateningly.

"Now, princess, pay attention."

I gulp and watch him with cautious eyes.

"I need you to do a tiny favour for an old friend, yes?" He says and cocks his gun at my head.

I nod, trying not to reveal the terror I'm feeling within.

Pretty sure I've píssed my pants by now.

"We need 500k in cash from your little boyfriend over there,"

I look at him with wide eyes.

What the fùck.

"If failed to do so, your precious friends and cousin will be facing the consequences." He warns.

"How am I supposed to do that?" With venom, I question him.

His grip on my throat tightened even more, and the pressure made my eyes water.

"Don't test me, pretty; I may have liked you once, it doesn't change a thing."

What?

"Your mission is to steal $500k from him by Friday the following week. During the week, you will receive a text message with the location of the meeting."

"And if you even consider informing someone about this, know that we have eyes and ears on you at all times, including on your devices." He declares.

I look at him with a disgusted expression

"Any wrong move will result in actions, such as a simple bullet to the skull of your dearest cousin."

"Be wise, Daisy," He says this before releasing his grip on my throat.

As the fresh air passed through my lungs, I coughed hysterically.

"In case you didn't believe me." He says lastly before throwing an open envelope at me.

He makes a quick exit from the alleyway.

I reached into the envelope and pulled out the three images that had been placed inside.

The first was a photograph of Tyson exiting his car, which was parked in our driveway.

Miya in her room, laying on her bed, was the source of the second photograph.

And the last photo was of Ian, Miya, and me as we were leaving school; it was taken today as I remembered all of our attire.

As my body dragged down the wall, I crushed them up and tossed them aside.

I wrapped my arms around my legs and tucked my head between my crossed arms.

A silent tear strained down my face as pressure and an overwhelming emotion wracked through my body.

I stayed like this for a while, until a hand had wrapped around my arm.

I looked up and saw Angel kneeling beside me, concern wrapped his features.

"You okay, baby?" He asks as he takes my hand in his.

I avoid his stare and nod, standing up from the ground.

His arm wrapped around my waist as he walked us both to his car.

As we walked, I stared impassively at the ground, attempting to maintain as much composure as possible.

He opened the door for me and I got in.

He shut the door and I wrapped the seatbelt around me and sighed.

Angel got in the car and started it up before speeding away.

I could feel his piercing gaze; he always seemed to be able to read me well, so I'm guessing he sensed something was up.

I closed my eyes in hopes of falling asleep, though it never consumed me as my mind raced with anxiety.
