Rosemary's P.O.V

For the first night in a while, we didn't have the baby dolls. My classmates used that as an excuse to have a party in the yoga room. By the time I walked in, everyone was already drinking and losing their minds. Running around wildly. Dancing provocatively. Doing threesome make-outs. Taking titty & belly shots.

Not my atmosphere at all. I only came to watch after Violet. Earlier, she ignored me in the room. Acting all weird.

Among Edgar's group, Violet was handed a shot by him.

By now, I came to the conclusion that no matter what I said to her, she was going to do whatever she wanted. Rather lecturing her and trying to stop her, I sat back and watched her to keep her safe. Wherever she went, I was a few steps behind her. I needed to babysit her.

I was going to let her have her fun.

A drink in one hand, a guy approached me, "You're cute, what's your name?"

Lola whispered to me, "He's not a student here," she informed. Why the hell was he here then? How did he come in? The guys must have snuck him in. "I'll be right back," Lola walked off.

With the new information, I answered the guy, "Rosa," technically, I wasn't lying? I mean, it was half of my name in Spanish.

More drunk than sober, the guy had a sly smile on his face. Nearly losing balance on the chair next to me. "I don't believe you," he called me out for it.

"That's on you then," I shrugged and turned to face the other way.

The guy welcomed himself to grab my hand, "Dance with me," he gave it a yank.

My mouth dropped. Unable to believe his audacity. "I don't want to!" I pulled away from his grip.

"Why are you playing hard to get?" roughly, he pulled on my wrist and forced me up. I was wrong. He was definitely drunk! "We're just gonna dance!" Yet, I sensed that he wanted more by the way that he pulled me against himself.

"I already told you no! Let me go!" I tried pushing him off. In the process of struggling with him, I knocked down his drink.

Mad by it, he gripped both my wrists now. "No one says no to me!"

"Why the fuck are you touching my girlfriend?" To my surprise, I heard Violet come to my defense. "Get your filthy hands off her or I'll chop your balls off!" She threatened, pushing him away from me. Too drunk, the prick almost lost his balance. Luckily for him, he held on to a handrail.

"Violet!" The asshole was terrified when he saw her. Oh so he knew her? Weird. He didn't come to Montgomery.

And I'm sorry but girlfriend? Violet referred to me as her girlfriend? I was not drinking but I felt like whatever they were drinking, it was affecting me!

"Stay in your own lane or I'll have you kicked out!" Violet threatened him. Violet pulled me by the hand to have me stand besides her. "Remember her face," she pointed to my face. "She's off limits," she warned him again. Caressingly, Violet cupped my chin with one hand, "Ain't that right, babe?"

I kept myself from complaining about her tight grip on my face, "Yes," I played along with a grin.

"Now we dance," holding my chin between her finger and thumb, she pinched it a little painfully. Of course, she just had to. Violet pulled me to the dance floor. We faced each other and as if nothing just happened, she swayed her hips rhythmically. "Dance!" she commanded when she saw that I stood stiff.

I sighed and got to dancing, "I don't think we need to dance to get the point across."

Sarcastically, Violet chuckled, "If you don't want anyone else going up to you then yes we do!" She assured. Skeptically, I stared at her. "Rosemary, look around, people are eye-fucking you," she gestured for me to take a look.

As instructed, I took a look and saw a few people waiting off to the side, staring at me. Throwing hints that they were interested in approaching me.

"What difference does it make that I'm dancing with you?" I asked.

"They're see you as mine and keep away," she explained.

"I don't buy it," I remained skeptical.

"Test your luck then. I'm going for another drink," Violet left me in the middle of the dance floor.

The moment she walked away, two girls came dancing my way. They looked like nice girls who just wanted to dance. Not immediately getting a bad vibe from them, I danced. The temporarily installed strobelights bounced around. I bobbed my head to the music. One of the girls danced close to me. In response, I stepped back to keep distance between us. The other girl took her chance and danced closer but again, I backed away.

A guy joined us and we danced together.

The guy leaned over, "You have a girlfriend, huh?" He figured.

I glanced back at Violet, who was now sipping on a drink.

"Uh yeah," I went along with it.

"I can tell, I'll tell my friends so they can stop," the guy went to the two girls and pulled them away.

The drunk asshole came back and right as he was going to reach me, Violet came back. As if running for his life, the prick turned right around.

"Told you!" Bragging about being right, Violet smirked. "I'm your girlfriend for tonight," she chuckled and threw her arms around my neck to dance closely to me. Only a drunk Violet would act this way.

Giving in, I let my hands rest on her hips and danced with her.

Too drunk for her good, Melanie appeared besides Violet and used her for support. Violet removed her arms from my neck to try and hold onto Melanie.

Melanie slurred her words, "Bitch, I need you to lay down with me!" Wow, she was extremely drunk. Opening her eyes wider, she spotted me, "Rosemary!" The biggest grin formed on her face. "You can lay down with us too!" She invited.

"No thank you, I'm not tired," I shook my head.

"Rosemary, help me with her," Violet requested.

Violet threw Melanie's arm over herself and held her by the waist. I did the same but from the other side. We practically dragged her off the dance floor and sat her down.

Chantel appeared, "Mel!" She seemed relieved to have found her.

Violet walked off. Seeing that Chantel was watching after Melanie, I followed Violet. She wasn't drunk like Melanie but she had been drinking a lot. I saw her drink a whole bunch! That and I smelled the liquor from her breath when we were dancing!

"Violet! Violet! Violet!" I called out multiple times as I followed her out of the yoga room. Violet ran outside. I caught up to her and grabbed her by the arm to stop her. "It's cold out here and it's only going to make you more drunk!" I warned.

"I don't want to be in there anymore," she ran her hand through her hair.

I could see her shivering already.

I stepped up and threw my arms around her, "Okay but you're freezing."

Violet became small in my arms, sinking into them. I tightened my hold on her. "Am I such a bad person, Rosemary?" she asked me.

"Why do you ask that?" Hugging her, I rubbed her arms to give her more warmth.

Violet adjusted her head on my shoulder more comfortably, "My parents don't love me," she stated.

"Violet, they do though," I assured. "The relationship between you guys is very distant and complicated, I'm not gonna lie," I added, "but they do love you! I feel like you guys need counseling though," I gave my honest opinion.

"Like they'd ever agree to," she snorted.

"That's something you guys need to discuss," I believed. "You guys need to learn how to express your love for each other and bond together."

"What if we never learn to though," I could hear the fear in her voice.

"Counseling will help that," I reassured. "It'll be a process but it'll definitely help if everyone makes an effort."

"Besides that, what if I'm an awful friend?" She questioned, which surprised me. "People expect so much from me. Expect me to be a certain way. To act and dress flawlessly at all times." By the sound of it, it was a lot of pressure on her.

"Are you kidding me? You're an amazing friend to those you love!" I assured.

"Really?" Violet tightened her hold around my waist.

"The way that you looked after Lucy the other day was amazing! You made sure that she was okay and didn't leave her alone. She's lucky to have a caring friend like you!" I couldn't believe that Violet couldn't see that! "I can tell that you care for your friends a lot and you'd be willing to do anything for them!"

"I don't ever want them to feel bad about themselves," she stated.

"You're strong, Violet," I commented. "Even when it comes to me and you hate me, you defend me," I brought up.

Violet looked up from my shoulder and looked me in the eyes, "I don't hate you," she denied.

The way that she stared into my eyes made me weak. My heart beat increased. It made it difficult for me to find my words. I used the trick of looking at her forehead.

"We both know you kinda do," I insisted.

"You trigger me but..." she paused, staring down away from my eyes. But what? My heart beaten quicker. "I don't understand it," slowly, she stared back up into my eyes.

"Understand what?" At this point, my heart was about to jump out of my chest.

Violet cleared her throat, "Why you trigger these..."

"Trigger what?" I just wanted her to spit it out already!

Breathing heavily as if she were nervous too, she leaned her face closer. Another pause and silence. Anxiously, my heart pounded hard against my chest. If she got too close, she'd be able to feel it. Violet's fingers touched my lips softly. At her touch, I felt a tingle shoot down my body. A lot was going through my mind but at the same time, my eyes were trying ti study her movement. Everything was becoming a blur though. I was losing track of time. It felt like only a few seconds had went by but at the same time, it felt like it had been an eternity.

Violet's fingers lowered away from my lips and her lips seemed to get closer to mine. I licked my lips, almost feelings hers. I could feel her breath crash onto them. I had never felt her this close. Another shiver ran down my spine. Instinctively, I rested my hands on her waist.

"Rosemary," gasping, Violet slipped her arms around my neck and brushed her lips on mine. I felt an electrifying spark on my lips, which transmitted through my whole entire body. My heart was going to explode. Slowly as if I were afraid to scare her off, I opened my lips a bit wider and moved along with hers. An army of butterflies took over my stomach. I moved my hand from her waist to her mid back. Reassuring her arms around my neck, Violet held me closer as she tilted her head to the side, opening her lips wider. Neither one wanting to end it, we kissed each other passionately.

In my arms, she felt so fragile. Suddenly, I felt the urge to protect her. Wanting to be delicate with her, I kissed her gently. I nibbled on her bottom lip, feeling how soft her lips were. Something I had already imagined before.

Processing what was happening, I remembered that she was drunk and I could not take advantage of it. Violet would hate me for this and it wasn't right!

I parted our lips.

"What's wrong?" Violet sounded confused.

"You're drunk and you hate me, I can't do this!" I explained.

"Rosemary, what?" Violet stared at me questionably.

"You're always saying how I'm not worthy," I reminded.

Violet sighed, "Rosemary, you're beyond gorgeous!" She admitted. "I'm always saying that you're this and that but you're beautiful and it frustrates me!"

As much as I wanted her to be completely honest right now, it just wasn't right! I couldn't take advantage of this!

"Stop right there!" I put my finger over her lips. "Don't say anything else or you'll regret it tomorrow morning," I stated.

Violet sighed, "You know what, I'm getting very sleepy and need to lay down," her eyes were starting to get small.

Oh no! Now I had to get her home. All while knowing that we just kissed! Why? Why did this have to happen? Dammit, this just confirmed to me that I actually liked Violet! No! I could not like her! Why her out of all people? Why did I have to fall for Violet?

**********

First period was over. As soon as I could, I came running back to the dorm room. Only to see Violet still sleeping. At the bedside table, I placed an aspirin, water bottle and pedialyte. Pedialyte would help her stay more hydrated than water. I remembered what she brought me when I was hungover.

Groaning, Violet started waking up. Visibly, she had a headache, seeing as how she was pressing her hand to her head. Violet opened her eyes but closed them right away.

"Why is it so bright in here?" She whined.

I opened the pedialyte for her, "It's not, you're just hungover," I corrected. Slowly, Violet sat up in bed. "Drink this, it'll help you a lot," I handed her the drink. "Lucy went to get you breakfast, so you don't take the aspirin on an empty stomach," I added.

Violet took a sip of the pedialyte.

"What time is it?" She asked.

"You missed first period," I informed. "The teacher was going to mark it as unexcused but Lucy told her that you had a nurse's note," I explained, so she wouldn't worry about it.

"God, I love Lucy," Violet took another drink. She pressed her hands on her head, "My head is going to explode," she grunted. "Ugh, I don't even remember anything from last night. Did I do anything stupid?" She was so scared of it.

"Nothing, huh?" That avoided the talk about the kiss then.

Better off this way that she didn't remember. Last night, I fell asleep too late, thinking about what she'd say about it. The kiss should have never happened either way. What did I expect? For her to all of a sudden start acting nice to me? I mostly expected to be running for my life. If she remembered, she'd want to kill me!

"Oh wait, I do remember one thing..." Violet made my heart stop for a second. W-what did she remember? Cold sweat formed on my forehead. Violet was hungover but I was the one suddenly feeling sick. "You flirting with a guy," she added.

My eyes flickered in disbelief, "Is that how you remember it as?"

"And I think I needed to save him from you," she added and grinned.

According to Violet, she did not remember anything from last night except for that. Well, then why did it sound like she was twisting what she remembered to mock me? If she remembered that perfectly and was playing games with me, then who's to say that she didn't remember anything else? Including the kiss!

"You're right," two could play this game. "You thought he was cute and got jealous that I was all over him, so you kissed him!"

Gasping, her face scrunched up, "He's not the one I kissed!" Catching herself, she covered her mouth with both her hands. Have messed up, her eyes grew big, looking like they were going to pop out.

In shock myself, my mouth dropped.

"So you do remember!" I was so in shock that I was smiling.

A knock was at the door. More like little heel taps. "Can someone open the door? I'm holding the food with both my hands," oh it was Lucy.

Violet jumped out of bed, "I'm going!"

Saved by the bell.

**********

The whole day, I was hiding from Violet. Oh shoot, she remembered the kiss! Too weird for me to be in the same room as her right now. Sitting back in the theater room, I rested my head back on the headrest and closed my eyes. Remembered the way that Violet's lips brushed on mine. How exciting it was. Inevitably, I smiled hard. So big that my cheeks were hurting. It felt like someone was poking my cheeks.

Violet and I kissed! Best of all, she initiated it! I mean, she was drunk... but it had to be worth something, right?

Something hit me in the face. Opening my eyes and lifting my head from the headrest, I saw popcorn flying to my face. "Lola!" I laughed.

"Sorry but it looked like you were having a wet dream," Lola teased.

"It did not!" I picked popcorn off my uniform and threw it back at her.

Lola sat next to me and offered me popcorn. "By the way, are you hiding from-"

"I'm not hiding from Violet!" I interrupted in panic.

Lola gave me a what the fuck confused look. "I was gonna say Olivia..." Amused, she went ooh. If she had a tea cup, she'd be sipping it.

"Why do you say that?" I asked her. Lola wouldn't just randomly be bringing her up.

"The girl has been looking for you," Lola informed. "I told her to look for you at the bottom of the pool," sometimes, I didn't know whether she was serious or not.

"We argued and haven't talked since, I don't understand why she's still looking for me," After everything that has happened, I just wanted her to leave it at peace. "The girl is kinda controlling," the date was awful!

"Duh, I could have told you that," done with the popcorn, she gave me the bowl to hold. "Her ex and her broke up because she was always trying to control her," she gave me the back story. "They'd fight like crazy, it was insane! One of the biggest toxic relationships I've ever seen."

"Seriously?" I was terrified.

"Unless that turns you on, you better stay away from that crazy bitch," Lola warned. "The kind of person you are, you're better off dating someone out of Montgomery," she suggested.

Not like I didn't know that before. It bothered me though. Violet was part of Montgomery, making her practically off limits. Why was I acting like I didn't see this coming either way? Violet and I just couldn't get along for more than two minutes.

"So everyone is bad in here?" Come on now, there had to be at least someone who wasn't ignorant. Not for me to date but just in general.

"I mean, there's Carina but she's obsessed with Violet," she thought of.

"She sure seems in love with her," I chewed on the inside of my cheek. Even though Violet told her that they could only be friends, I still felt a tiny bit of jealousy.

Disagreeing, Lola laughed at my statement, "The girl worships her way too fuckin' much. She's more of a fan," she compared and took back the bowl of popcorn, which I hadn't even touched. "No wonder why Violet can't take her seriously."

"Isn't that what Violet wants though? To be treated superior than everyone else?" I didn't understand.

Lola groaned, "I don't know! I don't understand stupid mentality."

"Do you hate Violet?" I genuinely wanted a sincere answer. Everytime we talked about her, Lola appeared to despise her.

"It just annoys me how she acts like she's better than everyone else," she started off, placing the bowl off to the other seat. "Expects for everyone to always give her the right away. Never lifts a finger for anything. Has her stupid admirers do everything for her. Feeds off of their attention. She thinks she's a fashionista, who's always giving others her unwanted fashion advice," she air quoted, rolling her eyes with it. "Her two minions are always a step behind her and she practically uses them as an accessory-"

Because of how absurd it was, I laughed at it, "You mean Lucy and Rachel?" I interrupted.

"Yeah, those brainless dolls," Lola confirmed.

"Well, from what I've seen, she actually really cares for her friends," I stated. Lola was always dragging Violet's name but did she really know her? Did anyone really know her? Not what she portrayed but who she really was?

"I doubt she even sees them as friends," Lola wasn't buying it.

Regardless of what I said to her, she was going to dismiss everything. Like many here, Lola was stubborn too. All this talk about Violet got me wondering who Violet was behind closed
