Ch 2 | Noona come!

Mirae |

It was heartbreaking knowing that Kookie was a prey to this rare condition. Every time I look at him I can't help but wonder where I've seen him before.

I know there's a kid his age with similar looks on TV, or maybe It's just my imagination —There's a reason why people call me the 'Queen of Obliviousness' (I know silly nickname) only because I figure things out much later.

"Noona today it's my birthday, I turned 6!"

"Wow really, let me give the birthday boy a hug!" I hug him tight as he does the same, my hands are itching to touch his soft jet black or I think dark brown hair. He hates people touching it so I just need to endure it. I wouldn't want him to get angry.

I sigh, oh well.

"No, Noona, I want you to come to my house, it's my birthday!" I looked at little Kookie on my lap. His little hands are on both sides of my cheeks making me face him directly. This kid sure is demanding.

He's gonna be the death of me.

"Noona, come to my house. I want to show you my toys," he pouted, narrowing his dark green eyes. His eyes are extremely beautiful, I've never seen any kid in Korea with green eyes. Except for the mixed-race kids. I've noticed how they always twinkle whenever he's excited and darken into an almost dark aquamarine green. It's the definition of perfect eyes in Korea.

Aw, how can I say no to these beautiful eyes and his cute bunny teeth. He reminds me of a fluffy, white, grumpy baby bunny full of authority.

But innocent faces can hide a lot of devious acts.

"Kookie, maybe Noona is very busy, we can't disturb her sweetie pie," Mrs. Jeon gave me an apologetic look for her son's behavior.

"No, Noona come!" he put his arms around my neck very tightly, may I add, as he leaned his little head in between my shoulder and chest. "I want Noona to come, Noona come," he mumbled the last words when I felt wet tears on my shoulder.

"Aw, Noona will come okay?" I gently whisper near his ear, "Its okay mom, I'll come home when I'm done playing with Kookie," I looked at my mom smiling.

"That's okay honey, I need to go get Dongwook anyway" mom swapped numbers with Mrs. Jeon and left with a hug.

"I'm sorry if my son bothers you" Mrs. Jeon sighed.

"No, it really is okay," I smiled standing up. I swear this little kid is so light in contrast with my heavy ass brother. "Kookie," I softly call him. He only grumbles holding me tighter and looking away. "Kookie I'm coming with you!" I giggle, seeing him narrow his eyes at me while he plays with strands of my hair.

"Wow, nice car!" I say as my mouth hits the now snowy ground. It's snowing! Christmas is only 3 months away and the car looks like a limousine. They even have a personal chauffeur!

Mrs. Jeon gave me and her son a warm smile as we sat inside –with Kookie still in my lap. I have a feeling he's not going to let me go anytime soon.

"Are you going to be a baby Koala, Kookie?" he ignored me, continuing with his business.
Alrighty then... I feel awkward.
All through the journey, I tried to talk to Kookie but he just ignored me, I swear he likes my hair more than me. He loves playing with the loose strands and tangling them between his cute, little, pale fingers.

Did I do something wrong though?

As for Mrs. Jeon, she sat in front of us with a smile looking out of the window. How embarrassing trying to talk to a grumpy Kookie in front of his mother only to get ignored. I'm seriously a failure with children.

Suddenly the limousine stopped. My eyes went wide with sudden nervousness prickling my body and I felt nausea hitting me like daggers. I swear the house they've been talking about looks like Buckingham Palace or those ancient French castles.

The mansion aka castle is wide and modernized with a touch of Victorian style.
The wide gates surround the area till who knows where its too big to know the end. A large fountain stands proud in the middle with two beautiful sculpted dolphins with water spouting from their mouths. The area around beautifully marked by roses, marigolds, violets, and even white and pink cherry blossom trees and so many more.

The gardener did a good job.

Cautiously, I came out as the chauffeur held the door. I lightly bow at him with a quick thanks as little Kookie wiggled out of my hold when we came around the fountain.
I hope he doesn't ignore me this time if I try to converse.

"Kookie you're living like a great King aren't you?" I say hoping he would at least talk to me. I looked down at him tightening his hold on my hands. He looks at me with his wide green eyes...

"Then you're my Queen."
