He was up late that night sifting through the channels on t.v. then switched over to Hulu. Jason and Dennis insisted that he signup.

He had grown fond of the shows, fascinated even of the ones that depicted his era. Although some highly inaccurate he felt offended. He was not that barbaric. He rolled his eyes shaking his head looking at the titles.

He settled in with a bottle of beer and a series : SleepyHollow...

It wasn't until sometime had passed that he heard the jingle and vibration of a phone. He sat up and pulled his out. Puzzled it wasn't his.

Again the jingle.

He looked around his room and followed it to his dresser. He opened it and noticed it was Tara's. His heart fluttered as he opened it. And he read the message.

In that instant at nearly 1am in the morning he bolted out of his room into Jasons jumping on his bed and scaring the bloody hell out of him-As Jason put it.....

"Lad....lad...lad," he blurted out yanking the comforter off of Jasons head toppling him to the floor.

A grunt and moan could be heard as he begged Jason to sit up and read the message on the phone.

"Uncle it is 1 in the morning," Jason moaned gripping his head regretting the 9 beers he drank at the club.

"Tell me I am not going daft. Tara wrote that?" he waited as Jason pulled the phone from his hand and looked at it.

Immediately Jason sat upright shaking off the grogginess from his head. "Uncle she wrote to you," Jason gasped.

He stood quickly slightly swaying and handed Duncan the phone. "Answer her back," he rushed Duncan handing him back the phone.

Overwhelmed and on the verge of losing his mind he texted her back with Jasons help.

He paced arguing with Jason on why he could not ask for her address or tell her it was him.

"Yes uncle she would most definetly give a complete stranger her address," Jason argued back sarcastically.

"I'm not a stranger she knows me," he felt perplexed with all these rules. He wanted to see her.

Trying to calm him down he begged Duncan to focus pointing the phone and calming him down.

He continued texting back and forth with her.
It was a sensitive time at best. His emotions were everywhere as she made arrangements to meet at Washington Square Park.

Without hesitating he agreed.

Midday could not come any sooner as he impatiently sat in the taxi cab on the way there. Traffic was unbareable and the driver was no picnic either.

When he finally got there he stepped out of the cab barely listening to the cab driver trying to tell him he has change. In large quick strides he walked into the park dodging the countless people that walked around.

When he finally stood near the fountain, he spotted her.

He sucked in a deep breath as he admired her from afar. His heart swelled with the view of her. He had waited so long for this day to come it felt as if it were a dream.

When she texted him again he replied with what he was wearing. Then she replied and he could see her agitated state.

He could not wait any longer. So he called her.
That sweet gentle voice warmed his heart and breathed life back into his soul like nothing else could.

Then he stood mere inches away from her.
The moment she turned to face him nothing else in the world mattered but the beauty that set his world straight.

With a fortified breath she barely whispered his name before her eyes fluttered shut and he caught her in his arms.

He held her close as he looked up to Mimi that stared at him dumbfounded and glued to the spot.

In that instant Jason and Dennis were at his side as they agreed to stay close by.

She lay limp in his arms as he gently caressed her cheek his gaze resting on her face. So serene and beautiful.

"I guess this was to be expected." he mumured to them as he held her against him.

They nervously looked around as those that stood close began to whisper and look their way.

An elderly couple stood and watched as he craddled her in his arms.

"Nothing to worry about, he proposed," Dennis waved them away.

They crooned and chuckled with awe and oohs...

"He went with Jareds...that did the trick," Jason added then stopped as Dennis glared at him.

"Really Jason? Now is not the time for joking."

Duncan slowly lifted her into his arms. And looked over to Mimi again.

"Mimi lass a bit of help here," he chuckled as she continued to stare at him.

Jason snapped his fingers in her face. She blinked once then twice. With a gasp she was at Tara's side.

"Lass we need to get her out of here. She needs fresh air and some where to rest." he told Mimi.

Mimi nodded and urged them to follow here. Quickly through the thrall of people they exited the park and long strides made it across campus towards their place down the block from NYU....

In no time, still holding Tara close he followed them into the building and into the elevator. They reached her and Mimi's apartment and immediately she showed him to Tara's room.

Heading in straight for her bed, he placed her down gently and immediately began undoing her shoes.
He turned to Mimi that gazed at him a bit with concern then sadness as her eyes rested on Tara.
"I need water lass," he whispered.

She perked up a bit and nodded with tears in her eyes turning away toward the kitchen.

Shortly after a while, he was handed a cool cloth to place above her forehead and a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol.
With that Mimi, Dennis and Jason left them alone.

Duncan gently held her in his arms. He finally had her before him, he finally had the sweetness in his arms he anxiously waited for.Β  He wiped her hair from her forehead and placed the cool damp cloth above it.

"Love open your eyes," he whispered his plea pressing his lips to the crown of her head and inhaling that unforgettable floral scent of her hair.

Slowly he waved the cotton ball beneath her nose. Slowly she stirred with a weak cough then groaned softly.
His heart tightened in his chest as her eyes fluttered open.

And there eyes met.

A grin formed on his lips and a stare fill with so much love held her astonished gaze as her fingers trembled and traced his stubbled jaw.

Hoarsely he whispered. "I finally have you."

She lay in his arms unable to speak past the lump in her throat. Her gaze traveled over his face, mesmerized that he was actually physically here....

He watched as her eyes filled with tears. Her lips trembled as she whispered.

"Are you really here. Am I dreaming?"

He chuckled smoothing away her hair from her face.
"Yes," he whispered. "No, and I can prove it," he leaned closer enjoying the way her gaze searched his.

"How?" her voice shook.

His gaze filled with desire immediately lowering to her lips.

"Kiss me lass," he whispered.

She did not hesitate. She rose up crushing her lips to his. It was a kiss he rejoiced in pulling her close and passionately returning it with fervor and the immense love he had for her.

Happiness flooded her soul she couldn't believe he was here. In the flesh.

He pulled away from the kiss and breathlessly stared down at her in a choked voice filled with emotional strain he whispered
"I missed you so much."

"I missed you too Duncan, I love you," she said as he crushed her to him against his raging heart.

At last, after many passionate kisses and whispered words of love they gave in to their desire to be together. He could not wait and needed her with an intensity that was slowly driving him out of his mind. She couldn't think beyond this moment as he caressed every inch of her. Dazed with joy she surrendered completely to him.

He loved her deep and long with feathered kisses and gentle strokes whispering everything she meant to him. She held him tight convinced now that it was not a dream. All of it was real. It was his skin that touched hers, his presence that filled her up. Him.

His lips trailed the satiny smoothness of her skin inhaling her sweet scent and enjoying the dulcet notes of her moans and whimpers.

Each steady rise and fall of his hips brought them both to delicious new heights of rapture.

He held her gaze with so much ardor and passion as he drove them both to an orgasmic pleasure that left them weak and replete.

After some time, with their bodies still entwined and entangled in sheets he answered every doubt she had and every puzzled question she needed answers too. She wept for the way he had to leave Ardolf and Aidan behind.
He spoke of the day she slipped away from him.
"I was mad with grief. I lacked the will to live," he whispered.

She caressed him and kissed him sweetly on the lips her tears fell as his did.

"I thought it was all a bad dream until....," she stopped.

He frowned as her gaze turned from sadness to wonderment.

"Until what love?" he asked.

She swallowed hard and a fresh set of tears welled up in her eyes. She held his gaze and gently lowered his warm hands down to her stomach.

With rapt attention, his silver watery gaze held hers.

"I'm pregnant."

"You're....pregnant," he managed to whisper.

She lay mute and still beneath him trembling and overwhelmed.

The way his eye lit up with such news and joyous smile he gave her.

He said nothing. He could not. All he could do is lower his lips to hers with passionate abandon in gratitude for such a gift.
They wept and laughed with it. Succumbing to the greatest sensation of the moment.

When they finally settled down and his breathing and laughing sobered he lay at her side peering into her eyes as she idly trailed her fingers over his skin.

Her eyes slowly saddened.
"Do you miss them?" she asked.

He inhaled a deep breath and pulled her close as she rested her head on his chest. Rubbing her back he whispered that he did. Then he slowly lifted her chin. Lovingly he grazed his thumb over her lips and caressed her cheek.

"I would do it all over again if I had to love."

"To the end of time if need be."
