Kevin couldn't concentrate on his work. He had a feeling something wasn't right. His wolf was restless and kept whining. He looked at his watch, 4pm. He gave up on work and decided to get a shower and dress. He knew he would be early but he needed to see Kyra and make sure she was okay.

When they left the cafe Kyra was too upset to drive. As they approached her car, she handed Tia the keys with shaking hands. Tia knew something had happened and it had to be bad, for Kyra to let someone drive her baby. "Talk to me Kyra. What did that ass say?"

Kyra shook her head. "Let's get in the car." As soon as she shut her door, she broke down sobbing. Tia reached over and pulled her into a hug. She rubbed her back until Kyra had quieted to sniffles.

"Tell me what happened."

"He told his father we are mates. Then he told me he wants me to give him a chance."

"That bastard! I'll kill him for you Kyra. You know I can make it look like an accident." Tia smiled at her.

Kyra gave a shaky laugh. "Only you would come up with something like that."

"That's what best friends are for. You know sleep overs, going shopping and killing ex's."

"Thanks for being here for me. I just don't know what to do. He said he wants us to be mates but I feel a connection to Kevin."

Tia sighed. "I can't tell you what to do. That is a decision only you can make. But! Keep in mind how easily he denied you and sent you away and the weeks of pain you suffered through. Also remember who was there to help you through it."

"I know." Kyra took a deep breath and smiled. "Okay, let's get this over with." Tia started the car and they headed for the apartment.

Alpha Gordon was pacing in front of them. Lisa and Jason sat on the sofa and watched him, afraid of what was to come. He stopped his pacing and looked at them. You could see the fury in his eyes. "I want to know how this happened and how you could even think of deceiving the pack. Let's start with you Lisa."

Lisa couldn't look him in the eye. "I'm sorry Alpha. I love him so much and when I found out we weren't mates, I was devastated. We've been together so long, I can't imagine my life without him. Kyra had promised me that she would help me, no matter what."

"And what were you planning on doing when you met your true mate?"

Lisa looked down at her hands. "I hadn't thought about that."

"Of course you didn't. Jason let's hear about your stupidity now."

"Dad at the time I was still in love with Lisa. I couldn't reject Kyra so I denied her and arranged for her to leave. I regretted it the next day. I've been trying to come up with a plan to get her back ever since. I thought I would have it all worked out before anyone found out."

Lisa gasped. "Jason you can't mean that! We love each other!"

"I'm sorry but I don't love you. I care about you, but as a friend." Lisa broke down in tears.

Alpha Gordon had heard enough. "I can't believe the selfishness of you two! How could you mess with what the goddess has destined." He ran his hands over his face. "Lisa, since you lied to your Alpha, you will be punished. I will decide what it will be once we are back home. Jason, you and I will have a private talk." He heard them approaching the door. "We will finish this later."

When they walked in the door they could feel the tension. Jason and Lisa were seated in the living room, so Kyra and Tia went to the kitchen. She was not ready to face them yet. She got a glass and the bottle of vodka and sat down. "You know that is not going to solve your problems."

Kyra smirked at her. "But it will take the edge off." She looked at the clock on the wall. "Shit! It's 5! Kevin is picking me up at 7."

"Well come on girlie, let's get you ready." They started for the bedroom. As they passed the living room, Jason called her name.

Kyra stopped and held up her hand, to prevent anyone from speaking. "I have had enough for today. I do not want to speak to any of you. Come on Tia, I need to get ready for my date." Jason growled but she ignored him and walked away.

Alpha Gordon turned to Jason. "You better fix this and quick." He walked out of the apartment and slammed the door.

As Kevin approached her door, he could hear someone crying. He rang the doorbell and waited impatiently for someone to open the door. If that was Kyra crying, he would make someone pay for hurting her. Tia opened the door. "Hi Alpha." Kevin pushed past her into the apartment. "What's going on? Where's Kyra?"

"Chill. She's in the bedroom getting ready."

"Then who is crying?"

"Lisa. Don't ask me any questions. Kyra will explain what happened today."

Kevin walked to the Living room to wait. Jason was sitting on the couch with his head in his hands. He jerked his head up when Kevin walked in the room. Kevin nodded to him. "Jason."

"Alpha. I know you had a date planned with my mate, I'm asking you to step aside. Kyra and I need to work this out."

"No."

"What the hell do you mean, no! She is my mate!"

"I will only stop pursing Kyra, If she asks me to. You denied her and the moon goddess has started a bond between us."

Jason got up and got in his face, eyes narrowed. "We will see about that. I'm not leaving here without Kyra." Kevin laughed in his face. Jason growled and stalked out of the room.

Kevin sat down with a smug look on his face. Kyra came in the living room. "You're early." She was stunning in a red wrap dress, that came to mid-thigh and black stilletos. The dress showed just enough cleavage to make him groan mentally. He felt a stirring in his groin at the thought of her in nothing but those shoes.

"I just couldn't wait to see you beautiful." Kyra blushed. He stood and gave her a soft kiss on the lips. "Ready to go?"

"More than ready. Let's get out of here." Kevin smiled and put an arm around her and led her out the door.

Lisa had cried until her eyes were swollen and sore. She decided she would make them all pay for hurting her. Starting with Jason. She would make abolutely sure that Kyra would reject him. Then she would take her revenge on Kyra and that bitch friend of hers. With revenge on her mind, she got out of bed to take a shower.

Jason was sitting in the kitchen drinking, when he heard her stop crying. A few minutes later the shower came on. He felt bad for hurting her and knew he would have to talk to her. Just not tonight. He had to come up with a plan to woo Kyra. He didn't care what he had to do, she would accept him and take her place as Luna.

Kevin and Kyra were sitting in the restaurant laughing over their meal. Kevin was telling her stories of when he was younger and the trouble he used to get into. "Stop it! I can't Take anymore. My stomach hurts from laughing." Kyra was trying to catch her breath from laughing so hard. Kevin couldn't help but admire how beautiful she was. The sound of her laughter and the sparkle in her eyes, took his breath away. He reached across the table and took her hand, shocked to feel the tingles stronger than before.

Kyra stopped laughing when he held her hand. The feeling was getting stronger when they touched. She looked in his eyes and couldn't look away. Her heart felt like it would beat right out of her chest. "Let's get out of here beautiful." She couldn't speak and gave him a nod. He pulled out his wallet and put money on the table, never letting go of her hand. He stood and helped her from her chair. He wrapped an arm around her waist and guided her out of the restaurant.

As soon as they made it to the car, he pushed her against the door and devoured her mouth. Kyra moaned and reached her hands up into his hair, pulling him closer. She opened her mouth and he plunged his tongue inside, exploring her mouth. His taste was heavenly and she moaned again. Kevin ran his hands up and down her back. He wanted her so badly. His erection was so hard it was almost painful. He knew he had to stop before it went too far. He pulled back and looked at her. He could see the desire in her eyes and he was sure she could see his. His voice was deep and husky when he spoke. "Let's get you home beautiful."
