The sight of a familiar face brought Nathan back from his thoughts. Standing just a few paces from him was one of the brightest chemists America had produced. Alan Jones was celebrated not only for his ingenuity, but also for his contributions to making the world a safer place. He created a bomb that was able to freeze the particles of an already detonated bomb, thus reducing the damage caused by that bomb. A few months before the complete destruction of the Earth, his face was all over the news. Nathan was pleased to see that he survived. It would have been a sad loss otherwise.

"Nathan Ross?" An average height MoonEx soldier called out, causing Nathan to look away from Alan Jones.

"Yes please." He replied.

"Here's your identification tag. You should wear it in a visible position at all times." The soldier stated, handing him a rectangular tag with the number 243.

"An identification tag?" Nathan asked, surprised. "What the hell happened to my name?"

"You left it back on Earth." The soldier's face was expressionless.

"If I did, you wouldn't have referred to me with it a few seconds ago." Nathan stated, getting slightly irritated. "Now, why in the world do I need to wear a number tag?"

"Those are the orders. Feel free to flunk them." The soldier replied, walking away immediately after.

"Damn AI" Nathan cursed under his breath but quickly remembered Borgina and Nurse Reese were based on Artificial Intelligence as well.

"Damn soldier." He corrected himself, chuckling at the ridiculousness of the situation.

Nathan noticed that everyone else in the hall was wearing their identification tag and decided it wasn't the right time to find out the consequences of disobeying direct orders. If he remembered correctly, Colonel Ford had said something about getting killed or thrown out. Since none of the options sounded like a good idea, he decided to let it go.

"It shouldn't be too hard to wear a small tag."

Nathan clipped the tag to his breast pocket and lifted his head. His gaze fell on another familiar face. He couldn't believe it. Standing right there was Brad Summers, a Summa Cum Laude graduate just like himself. He had known Brad back in college and the two shared a mutual respect for each other. Brad was a brilliant physicist and an awesome person. He was about to call out his name to get his attention when several screens lit up around the large hall and distracted him.
