Nathan exited the Rover that had transported him from his apartment to the central auditorium. The prism shaped building had been converted to a factory for the production of weapons of war.

He made a dash for the entrance, not wanting to experience the effects of the insufficient Oxygen outside. Once inside, he was directed to the section for navigation systems design by a MoonEx soldier who looked so close to being human that Nathan was confused for a short while.

According to his schedule, this was the place he was going to spend most of his time. Fifteen of the twenty hours in a manageable pocket was to be spent here, designing navigation systems to protect the colony. A meager four hours was to be split between food production and water extraction activities, while the last hour of the manageable pocket was to be used for personal activities like eating, using the restroom or taking a shower.

As they walked towards the navigation system design section, Nathan's eye caught a strange creature within a glass chamber in one of the corners of the building. The creature stood on two feet like a human, but its head was shaped like that of a crocodile. Unlike the sharp teeth of a crocodile, this creature's mouth was filled with teeth resembling the molars of a human. It had beady black eyes without eyelids, and its arms ended in webbed fingers like that of a toad. It was slightly terrifying to look at, even if it was clearly dead.

"That was the alien found in the warship. It was killed by two MoonEx soldiers." The soldier escorting Nathan proudly announced.

"It's scary." Nathan replied.

He couldn't imagine hundreds or even thousands of those creatures invading MoonEx. That would mean certain death for everyone in the protected colony. It was immediately clear why Colonel Ford decided to shift the focus of the colony towards the production of defense weapons.

The sight of the creature made Nathan's mind go back to one of his dreams where Brooke had fallen into a large hole in the ground. There was a creature in there that looked an awful lot like the one in the glass chamber. It made Nathan wonder if the one in his dream was of the same species as this one. That thought brought even scarier thoughts to his mind.

"Was that dream really a dream? Was the Earth destroyed by these aliens? Did one of them get Brooke?"

The last thought filled him with rage. He couldn't wait to get to work, designing navigation systems that would enable missiles blast these creatures to pieces.
