Nathan and Nurse Reese were about to make their way out of the apartment when they heard voices outside. MoonEx soldiers were making their way into the apartment.

"Come, quickly. Hide in here." Nurse Reese pointed to a small space behind Becky's closet.

Nathan had barely squeezed through when the soldiers got inside.

"It's great you're here. I'm trying to find my patient. He's late for his evening shot. Did you happen to see him around?" Nurse Reese asked the soldiers, feigning ignorance of the situation.

"You should leave. Your patient is no longer in the colony." One of the soldiers replied.

Nurse Reese knew what that meant. Becky had been killed and the soldiers were here for a cleanup. Everything belonging to Becky would be disposed of, and the process had already begun.

There was no way for her to warn Nathan. She had no choice but to walk out of the apartment, leaving him in there with the soldiers. They scanned through the apartment, taking everything that looked like personal property. Once they removed every trace of personal items, they walked out of the apartment, taking Becky's laptop with them.

Nathan could not believe it. He had truly come all this way for nothing. There was no way he was going to get Becky's files now.
