Chapter Fifty Two

We're Getting Married Soon.

Anna

"There." I step away from the mirror after I've covered my whole face with this blueberry face mask I got. You know, actually giving a crap about myself.

"What's up with the smurf look?" Liam asks as he stops by the bathroom door.

"It's called a face mask," I tell him, tightening my ponytail.

"And this is called 'Lyn's album'," Liam says before I hear the sound of a phone camera going off and I whip my head towards him, my eyes widening.

"Delete that," I order him.

"I don't know. It looks like a keeper," he comments, looking down at his phone.

"Delete it," I repeat sternly, stepping towards him.

"I'm just going to go," he grins, backing away and I charge after him.

He runs down the stairs and I rush down after him, a bit slow so I wouldn't slip. I notice Luke standing by the opened door with Cameron holding the door open and they both stare at us in confusion.

"Luke," I say in surprise.

"Hey, Cherries," he waves with a wide smile.

"I bet your boyfriend would love to see your photo," Liam holds up his phone.

"What photo?" Luke asks.

The photo that I currently look like the blue version of Hulk in.

"Liam!" I shout and he runs around the couch.

"Mum! Lyn's going to kill me!" Liam screams.

"No crap, dumb duff!"

"Annalyn! Iwanan ninyo ang inyong kapatid!" She yells at me from the kitchen.

"Siya ay isang sakit sa buldet!" I yell back.

Mum then comes stomping outside and she points at Liam. "You. Stop annoying your sister."

She points at me. "You-"

"Me? What did I do?!" I defend.

"You. Stop threatening your brother," she states, then she takes notice of Luke who's watching us in amusement and she drops her 'mean mamma' demeanor.

"Honey, you didn't tell me that Luke will be here," she tells me. "I'm so sorry you had to see this, dear. They could be quite a handful," she explains softly.

"It's alright, Mrs. Falls. I mean, I'm used to it, right?" He turns to me and raises an eyebrow.

'I'm going to hit you,' I mouth to him and he smirks.

Mum chuckles. "Good luck with her, Luke."

"Gee, thanks, mum," I give out a wide, sarcastic smile.

"Of course, honey," she gives me a smile back. "You want to stay for breakfast, Luke? Anna is a great cook."

"I'd love to, but Anna and I are actually going out later," he replies.

"We are?" I frown in confusion.

"Yeah," he responds.

"Okay," I shrug.

"Alright then. I'll be in the kitchen," Mum says. "Come with me," she points at Liam and he sighs before he follows her.

I stick my tongue out at him when he looks back at me and he flips me off.

Female sheltie.

"I'm not being a third-wheel, so bye," Cameron says, then he goes upstairs.

That's weird. I was expecting him to go all over-protective brother on him. Oh well.

"Hi," I smile at Luke. "Sorry you had to witness...that."

"It's okay, Cherries," he assures me with a smile and wraps his arms around my waist to pull me closer.

"You look beautiful," he mumbles and my cheeks heat up. I truly thank God for my perfect timing of putting on a face mask.

"Even with a smurf blue face?" I tilt my head and wrap my arms around his neck.

"Even with a smurf blue face," he nods.

"I have a feeling that you're lying."

"You caught me," he chuckles.

"I'm not surprised," I say and lean in to press a kiss against his lips.

"I was expecting a longer one," Luke complains.

"You'll get one after I wash this off," I point at my blue face and he grins.

"Where are we going out?" I question.

"A place," he replies.

"Wow, really?" I raise my eyebrows at him, sarcasm dripping from my voice.

"Yes, Cherries," he answers with a grin and I roll my eyes, smiling. I can't help it. His idiotic self makes me smile, even at the stupidest things.

"I'll go wash this off and change," I tell him, placing my hands on his chest. "You wanna come upstairs or stay here?"

"Damn, Cherries. We didn't even go on our first date yet," he comments with a smirk.

I give him an empty look. "You're coming upstairs then." I grab his hand and drag him behind me to my room.

I close the door behind me after we walk inside and Luke takes a seat on my bed, leaning against the headboard. Molly, who's lying on the bean bag next to my desk shoots up at the sight of Luke and she runs to the bed and jumps on top of it, rubbing her nose against his arm.

"Hi there," he chuckles and picks her up, placing her on his lap and she rests down on him as he scratches her behind her ear.

"Boyfriend thief," I mutter, opening my closet and rummaging through the clothes.

"Is that Fifty Shades of Grey?" I hear Luke asking and I quickly turn to him, my eyes widening.

"That's Cameron's," I say when I notice the blue triangle origami bookmark perched on the edge of the book.

"And what's it doing in your room?" He raises an eyebrow.

"He always forgets his things in our rooms."

"So this isn't a sign of your secret submissive personality?"

"No." I take the book from him and smack him with it, then I put it back on my dresser. "I'm going to go wash the mask off. Don't go through my things," I order him.

"When did I ever go through your things?" He asks.

"Dude," I deadpan at the fact that he was just going through my stash of books and he laughs. I walk out of the room after I give him another pointed look and head to the bathroom.

I wash the light blue color off, dry my face and go back to my room to find Luke sitting on the bed, scrolling through his phone with one hand and the other on top of Molly's head and he looks up when he hears the door being closed.

I eye him suspiciously and he looks at me questioningly. "What?"

"Nothing," I reply and walk to my closet. "You're going to help me get ready because I have no idea what to wear."

"Will that involve thinking?" He asks.

"Yes," I say slowly.

"Will that make me a good boyfriend?"

I laugh. "Luke, you're already a good boyfriend."

"Yeah, but will it?"

"I guess?" I get out a couple of shirts and jumpers, along with three different colored pair of jeans and place them on my bed.

"Don't you girls know exactly what to wear everyday?" Luke questions, picking a sleeping Molly up carefully and placing her down on the bed, then he moves to the end of the bed and sits on the edge of it.

"I wish, but no. I have to take time to settle on an outfit or sometimes I could be really lazy that I just throw on a hoodie and jeans. My lazy side is currently winning."

"No shit, it is." He looks around the dump I call my bedroom.

"That's rude," I tell him. "But it's the truth nonetheless."

"Good thing, I don't give a shit either."

"I know. We're already couple goals," I comment with a wide, kid-like smile.

Luke lets out a soft laugh and he takes my arms to place them around his neck. "You're so adorable," he says, grabbing me by the waist and making me stand between his legs.

I blush with a grin and tilt my head down to press my lips against Luke's. He kisses me back, his hands squeezing my hips gently and I'm about to pull away from him, but he deepens the kiss and cups my face with one hand. I mean, I don't mind.

I pull away from him a bit, so our lips are brushing against each other. "Isn't this longer than usual for a kiss?"

"You promised," he mumbles, his head dipping down to press a kiss on the side of my neck.

Even though I feel like moving my head and giving him more access, I bring his head up and stare in his now jade green eyes. "True, but we're never going out like that." I pull away further from him.

"Dammit, I hate that I'm a good planner," Luke mutters and I laugh.

"C'mon then. Let's help you get ready," he grins.

"Keep walking," Luke says from behind me with his hands still over my eyes, his breath fanning my ear and I shiver slightly.

"Luke, we've been walking since forever," I complain.

"We've been walking for ten minutes. Stop exaggerating," he tells me and I could practically visualize him rolling his eyes.

"You're counting now?"

"No. Senses," he replies.

"Like Spider-Man senses?"

"Yes, Cherries."

"Coo-" I suddenly hit my foot against a rock and I let out an 'ouch'. It is like stubbing your toe, but being shoeless is so much worse.

"You're supposed to guide me, you bumhole," I say.

"Not my fault; you have big feet," he responds and I slap his arm.

"This is abuse," he mutters.

"I didn't even hit you that hard."

"But I will," he says in a suggestive tone.

"I will hit you again," I warn him.

"I'm kidding."

"Sure, you are," I reply sarcastically.

"We're here," he whispers in my ear and his voice sends a shudder through my spine. I don't think he knows how much everything that he does affects me. Also, I'm ticklish and he does that just to annoy me.

Luke takes his hands off of my eyes and I blink a few times before my eyes settle on the interior of Luke's tree house. There is a double-sized air bed on the built wood with a blanket and two pillows on top. A laptop that has Netflix opened on it is on the air bed and there is a mini-fridge in the corner that was definitely not there the last time.

"Luke?" I question, turning around to face him. "What's all of this?"

"I thought that we could have our first date here. It would be different than the usual 'dinner at a restaurant and a movie' date, but if you don't like it it's fine. We could go to Olive Garden or something then watch the new Disney movie that recently came out, even though most of their movies are all about sappy, unrealistic shit, but as long it will make you happy it's okay," he explains, sounding nervous and I feel like kissing the life out of him. How did I get so lucky?

I shake my head. "No. This is much more beautiful and amazing." I look around, smiling. "Thank you so much."

I hug him tightly, burying my head in his neck. He hugs me back and places a kiss on top of my head.

"You like it?" He asks.

I look at him. "I love it." He smiles in response.

"Wait, how did you get me up here anyway?" I frown.

"That," he points at a wooden pathway that's built at the side of the house.

"Wow," I comment in amazement. This thing is so well-built.

"I also got us breakfast since it's still early," he gets out a couple of white bags with the Dunkin Donuts pink and orange logo on them, out of the mini-fridge. "And I found a shit ton of candy at ours so I got that too."

"Yup, we're getting married soon," I joke, patting his cheek.

"Is that an indirect proposal, Cherries?" Luke plays along.

"I don't know. Does it feel like one?"

"It does," he nods.

"I guess it is an indirect proposal then," I laugh. "But I want a house in Italy. Just saying."

"Got it. Anything else?"

"Never ending supply of food?" I add, tilting my head.

"Sounds good," he agrees and we both laugh.

"American Horror Story marathon?" I suggest, landing down on the air bed.

"Hell yeah." He throws himself on the air bed as well.

We spend the whole day in the tree house, watching movies and eating. We even go to get some takeout from Olive Garden in the afternoon before we go back to the tree house and continue our marathons, then we switch up to comedy sitcoms and movies and by that time I'm practically dying from laughter.

The thing about my laugh is that it starts sounding weird as I laugh harder and I'm pretty sure that was the reason why Luke is laughing along.

At seven in the evening, we decide to go back home and Luke walks me to my porch. I mean, it's not that hard anyway. He literally lives next door.

"I had fun today," I tell him, smiling.

"I'm glad you did," he smiles back and holds my chin as he leans in to give me a kiss, but suddenly my door flies open and I jump away from Luke.

Cameron stands at the doorway and grins. "You guys had fun?"

"Yeah," I reply, clearing my throat. "Thank you, Cameron." I try not to let the sarcasm take over my voice so much.

"Of course," he gives a small courtesy with his head as a nod.

"Do you mind if I talk to Luke for a moment?" Cameron requests, raising an eyebrow.

Oh God, here we go.

"Um..." I trail off, looking at Luke to make sure he's fine with it.

"Yeah, sure," Luke agrees and Cameron steps aside to let us in.

The rest of the guys are sitting on the couch, watching a movie casually which is I'm pretty sure is just an act because our movies nights are all always on Friday unless we all feel sleep-deprived and decide to head to bed. Once again, the sleep-deprived side is currently winning.

"Lyn, give us a moment," Cameron says.

"Okay..." I respond slowly and walk past Cameron to go upstairs. As I carefully step up the stairs with my back facing the other way, I mouth to Luke that he's going to be okay.

He nods and grins, then I grin back before I turn back around and continue my way upstairs. I peek from around the corner of the corridor, so my brothers won't see me.

"Look, dude," Josh starts, turning to Luke. "We're just gonna get straight to the point because we're talking about Lyn here and she's pretty important."

"We trust you with her and you're a good guy, so we're not going to threaten you or anything," Cameron tells him.

"I was thinking about blackmailing you with chopping your penis off, but that's not needed now," Cole informs him and Luke raises an eyebrow in both question and amusement. I sigh, rubbing my forehead and the guys shout at him to shut up.

"You make our sister happy and that's what we'll ever want for her," Liam adds and I smile to myself.

"She's literally everything for us and we'd do anything to keep her safe," Josh says.

"She has already went through lots of shit and I'm sure she told you," Cameron tells him.

"She did," Luke nods as he crosses his arms, his eyes flickering up for a moment to make direct eye contact with mine before he turns his gaze back to my brothers with his lips curving upwards a bit.

"Then you know that she doesn't deserve any other crap and that you should keep her safe too," Liam says.

"I do and I'll make sure to do anything to keep her safe and happy," Luke responds and I smile even wider if that's possible.

"Alright then," Cole says with a small nod. "I guess I won't resort to chopp-"

"Shut up," my other three brothers cut him off and he scoffs.

"Rude ass people." He turns back to the horror movie they were watching.

"Thanks for everything, man," Cameron tells Luke.

"It's no problem." Luke turns his gaze to me once again. "I would do anything for her." He gives me a discreet smile and I give him two thumbs up with a huge smile.

Nailed it.
