Do even know where we are going?" I said to Carter as he carried me on his back down the corridor of the castle and towards the sound of the king's army cheering outside.

"We have an idea where my mother's coven might be but if they decide to not help us then we will have no witch support from here on."

"Oh? So then what?"

"Then we try to track it down ourselves." He said calmly as the cheering noise of the army got louder.

"Oh?"

"It's the best we have baby."

"I know, I just tend to panic a bit about the unknown. I like to know what's coming."

He smiled. "I'm well aware of that my Sunshine but unfortunately this time we are going in blind and swinging at nothing."

I rested my head on his shoulder. "When this is all over can we go away together for like a long time? Just you and me and nothing to worry about?"

"When this is over baby I'll take you wherever you want to go, whenever you want." He laughed as we turned a corner.

"Can we get married first?" I whispered in his ear.

He smiled at me on his shoulder. "I'll marry you right now if you want me to."

I sat up and looked around. "Carter, shhh. Someone will hear you."

"And do what? I don't give a damn if they do hear me. If you want to get married baby then I will make it happen." He yelled as we passed some very important-looking vampires in the corridor who just glared at us.

"You are so badass." I giggled as I looked back at the vampires pointing at me on Carter's back talking about marriage.

"Anything you want baby and it's yours. I don't care about anyone else anymore. I only care about you." He stopped talking as we got closer to the doors and swung me around on his body so I was looking directly at his face as I straddled his waist. "You are the only thing that matters to me and if you want to wait to get married then I'm happy but if you want to get married right now my beautiful Sunshine then I'm happy as well. It doesn't matter to me where or when I get you, I just want you to be mine forever." He kissed me and I swung my arms around his neck.

"You would defy vampire law just for little old me?" I teased.

"I would defy Satan himself for little old you baby and I did." He kissed my cheek softly. "Whatever makes you happy." He pulled me closer to him and kissed me deeply.

"Now," I said in between his kisses.

"What?" He said into my skin.

"I want to marry you right now." I smiled at him.

A huge smile came across his handsome face. "Then let's get married my beautiful baby Sunshine."

"Are you nervous right now because I'm shitting bricks?" Jake said pacing back and forth in the Castle's back garden. "This is huge Ebony. This is like the rest of your human life. This is .....Holy shit this is huge."

"Calm down." I laughed. "It's just a ceremony."

"You are getting married! I mean we didn't even get a bachelorette party with all the horny human women and there was no bachelor party with horny human strippers. My mind is not prepared for this."

"Jake, I love you but if you don't calm down right now I'm seriously going to kick you in the sack again," I said calmly walking over to him. "I just really need you to be here with me right now and hold my hand. Can you do that for me?" I cupped his face with my hands. "Can you be my best friend right now and not just Jake."

He smiled and nodded his head as he sighed deeply.

"Jake, this changes nothing between us. I will always need you and I will always love you. You know that right. I mean who even am I without Jake?" I could feel the tears leaving my eyes as I spoke. "What we have together is stronger than anything I have ever known and I will always love you for that. I will always need you right next to me making me laugh and holding my hand okay?"

He reached up and wiped away my tears with his thumb. "This changes everything Ebony but I love you so damn much that I'll take whatever it is that you are offering and if being your best friend is my place in this life then I accept it with open arms and I promise you I will never leave your side. Not even when you kick me in the sack." He smiled.

"You promise me that we are going to be alright." I cried out.

"Always." He said taking me into his arms and letting me cry on his chest. "We will always be together." He kissed the top of my head. "I adore you Ebony Summers and nothing will ever change that."

I grabbed his shirt in my hands and cried.

"Now you have to get yourself together right now because if Boss finds out I made you cry then he will kill me." He laughed in my ear.

"Thank you," I said looking up at him.

"No need to thank me. You can just touch me in my special places later." He grinned.

I hit his chest as I laughed. "You are shocking," I said wiping my tears.

"I just love to see you laugh." He kissed my cheek. "Okay, are you ready to do this?" He started bouncing up and down and throwing punches in the air.

"Now more than ever." I smiled at him.

"Then let's get you hitched, Summers." He said taking my hand in his and leading me towards the others.

CARTER'S POV 💕💋

I stood next to Leon and Henry as I stared back at the castle. They were talking about how things had changed since Ebony had come into our lives and how lucky I am to have found her. If there is one thing I know for certain it's how damn lucky I am to have that perfect human being in my life. From the second I meet her when she was a child I knew she was different and I knew she would change my life forever. I just had no idea how much.

"You nervous dad?" Callan said patting me on the back as we stood in the garden.

"Me? Nervous?" I scoffed. "Please."

"You're scared to death aren't you?" He laughed.

"Literally." I smiled.

"Well, I just wanted to tell you old man that I'm proud of you. You have shown me that no matter what love is worth fighting for and no matter what life throws at you, in the end, if you have love then that is all that matters and you can live a thousand lives in just a moment with that special someone. Ebony, is such a blessing to all of us and I'm so genuinely happy that she will officially be a part of our family forever."

"You're a good kid Callan." I hugged my son. "I have no idea how you turned out this good but I do love you son. You know that right?"

"Of course. I love you too...when you're not yelling at me." He laughed.

"Then don't do so much stupid shit with Jacob then." I clipped the back of his head gently as he ducked and laughed. "Just promise me if anything happens to me you will look after Ebony and Jake for me."

"Of course but nothing is going to happen to you. You are kind of invincible." He smiled and patted my shoulder.

"I just need to know that you will all be alright if something were to happen that's all." I shrugged.

"I'll take care of them." He said calmly. "I'll protect them with my life."

"I know you will." I hugged him again. "Okay, let's get this show on the road."

"Carter, are you ready?" Henry said smiling at me.

"Yep." If I had a heart it would literally be beating out of my chest right now.

"How is it you always get the girl?" Leon said standing next to Callan and myself.

"I'm just better looking than you." I winked.

"Come now big brother, you may be a lot of things but we both know that is not one of them." He smiled.

"It is and I have the girl to prove it." We both laughed. "I'm glad you're here with me today, Leon."

Leon gave me a hug and a pat on the back. "So am I Carter. You have no idea how glad I am to be here with you right now." He ruffled my hair and laughed as I pushed him away.

"Not the hair your animal." I laughed fixing my now messy dark hair.

"Okay big guy, here she comes," Henry said suddenly in my ear. "You lucky son of a bitch." He smiled and winked as he took his position.

I closed my eyes and smiled as I shook my head slightly. Who would have thought in a million years I would ever marry again. The thought of marriage again was probably one of the very few things that scared me in this world yet the thought of living without Ebony as my wife scared me more. I slowly opened my eyes and I looked up only to see my beautiful girl walking toward me, her arm entwined with Jacob's. She wasn't wearing white, she wasn't even wearing a dress, she was just wearing her black ripped jeans and high tops with a grey shirt like she always did and she still managed to make this old vampire become completely lost in her beauty. She is and always will be perfect to me.

She smiled at me as I took her hand from Jacob and she gently kissed him on the cheek. I owe this young vampire more than I give him credit for.

"Take care of her boss man," Jacob said to me as she stood at my side.

"I intend to Jacob, my boy."

Jacob put his hand to his chest dramatically and pretend to wipe a tear from his eye. "It's just so beautiful.."

"Knock it off." I stared at him raising an eyebrow.

"I just love weddings." He smiled through his fake tears. Ebony sniggered at him encouraging him to become more dramatic.

"Jacob, I swear if you don't..."

"I know, I know. Stop your shenanigans Jacob or I'll end you." He rolled his eyes.

"I was going to use the words bullshit and murder you but yes."

"Message received." He gave me the thumbs up and kissed Ebony on top of her head. He took his place next to her and composed himself. . "All yours boss man." He winked at me and smirked.

Make a mental note to kill Jacob later.

I ignored him and focused on Ebony as she smiled up at me. She squeezed my hand and bit her lower lip "You ok?" She whispered.

I nodded as I felt a wash of calmness come over me as I looked into her eyes. "You look beautiful," I whispered to her.

"I look like I always do." She smiled.

"I know." I kissed her hand softly and she blushed instantly. She's so fucken cute.

"Are you both ready?" Henry said in front of us.

Ebony nodded at me. "We are ready," I replied.

"Very good." Henry continued. "Unfortunately we don't have a lot of time today to fully enjoy this moment with you both but on behalf of everyone here, I would just like to say...It's about Damn time guys!" Henry said as we laughed. "I'm going to make this quick as we literally have an army of vampires waiting for us. So, if you two have anything to say to each other now would be the time."

I sighed softly and looked into her big beautiful eyes. "I'm not the best at expressing how I feel so I'm going to make this quick. I love you Ebony Summers and I can't say it any better than that. You are my everything and I promise you that I will always love you as much as I do right now and nothing will ever change that. You are my whole world, Sunshine and I absolutely adore you." I kissed her tiny hand again and had to restrain myself from kissing her beautiful pink lips.

She blushed again as tears fell down her cheeks. "I can't top that." She laughed wiping her tears. "You, Carter Morgan, are the love of my life and I'm the luckiest girl in the entire universe because I get to be with you. I love you with all my heart and I can not wait to build a life with you. I know this marriage is forbidden in your world and yet here you are...Here you all are defying everything you know because of me." She paused as she wiped her tears. "I just love you so much." She cried. "Damn it, I'm always crying." She laughed as I pulled her close to me and kissed her head.

"Jacob, Callan, do have the rings?" Henry said.

"Rings?" Ebony looked shocked. "We have wedding rings?"

"Of course, we have rings baby." I laughed. "I told you I would arrange everything."

She gasped as Callan handed me a gold wedding ring.

"Carter Morgan, do you take Ebony Jane Summers to be your wife?" Henry said as I placed the ring on her tiny human finger.

"I do," I said without any hesitation. She grinned up at me.

Jake handed her a matching gold ring.

"Do you Ebony Jane Summers take Carter Morgan to be your husband?" Henry said as she nervously placed the ring on the tip of my finger.

"I do." She said as pushed the ring onto my finger. I could feel her hand shaking undermine.

"Then it is with the greatest pleasure that I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your...."

I didn't wait for the end of that sentence I just picked up my wife and kissed her like it was the last time I was going to see her.

This is what true happiness feels like.
