Finals.

This word probably scares everyone.

I have only one exam left and that's math. My worst enemy.

"Are you ready for tomorrow?" Camilla asks referring to my math final exam.

"Not really...I don't know." I huffed and let my body fall back on the bed.

"Isn't River teaching you?"

"Well...since that kiss, things has been weird with us. He did teach me after that, but not too much, and I am too embarrassed to talk to him." I whined.

"Why are you embarrassed Mia? I mean...both of you kissed each other, right?" She asked and I nodded. "Then, just talk to him. Your exam is tomorrow, the least he could do is give you some review."

"UGH, you're right. What could go wrong, right?" I picked my body up and left Camilla's house to go to River's.

I was so nervous. After we kissed last week, we didn't talk much. He just gave me 2 math lessons and we didn't even talk like real talk. We didn't even talk about the kiss and what happened.

For some reason I feel that he feels that the kiss was a mistake. I hope he doesn't feel that way because to me, it wasn't.

And do you know what's the bigger problem? Is that once he discover my family history and present, he would not want to be with me...that's if he wants to.

UGH...It's so complicated.

Parking my car that my father finally let me drive, I got out and made my way towards his house. I stood in front of his door and suddenly felt nauseous. Can I do it? God...I have to or I am going to fail tomorrow.

I raised my hand and knocked on the door. Waiting for few minutes, no one answered. I was about to knock again when the door suddenly flew open revealing a shirt-less River and Lara behind him, that by the way, wearing a crop top and very short shorts.

I tried to convince my inner self that it's normal for her to wear that and him...being shirtless, and that it doesn't mean anything, but she didn't LISTEN!

"Hey!" I confidently said.

"Mia, Hi." He nodded waiting me to say the reason I am at his doorstep.

"I-Well...if you are busy, I can come...later." I said looking at Lara.

"Uh-No, come in." He invited me in.

I walked in awkwardly because I felt as if I caught them doing something....sexual.

"Hey Mia!" Lara greeted me with a hug.

"Hi." I smiled and hugged her back.

"So, tell me..." River started.

"I was just wondering if you could give me a quick review since tomorrow is my math final." I quickly asked without hesitation.

Why did he kiss me if his 'friend' is here? Is there something going on between them? But if there is, he wouldn't kiss me right?

"Sure, I can give ya a quick review." He nodded and walked to the living room with us following him.

"Thanks."

"I was actually going to take a quick shower, so I'll do that then come down, okay?" He said and I nodded.

Why does it always happen like this? Every time I come, he takes a shower? Well, okay not every time, but still.

"So, Mia, do you like River?" She suddenly said shocking the hell out of me. She also had a small smirk on.

"W-What? No, of course not." I frowned.

"Oh, I know you're lying." She laughed.

"No, seriously, I don't." I tried to convince her.

She's so straight forward....

"You know...it's cool. River is like my brother, so don't worry." She winked and my cheeks instantly turned red.

"Did he...ever had a girl friend?" I hesitantly asked.

"Off, plenty." She said and continued, "-but they were never real, you know."

"How so?"

"River has never loved before. He was a player back in New York."

"Wait, he lived in New York?" I asked confusedly. I thought he told me Los Angeles.

"Yeah, but he moved here; however, I still live back in New York, and now I am just visiting." She explained.

"So, you two are so...close." I said looking everywhere but at her.

"Yeah, you could say that. As I said, he's like my brother."

Suddenly, we heard a noise and when we looked around, we saw River coming our way.

Freshly showered.

"Kay, let's start." He announced.

Truly and honestly, you wouldn't believe how awkward we were. I don't know why...I mean he did tutor me 2 times after w kissed and till now, we feel awkward.

I was also so embarrassed. Not because we kissed or anything, but because we didn't talk about it. I was ready to, but I guess he wasn't. And that makes me embarrassed because it's like he...rejected me, you know?

"Okay, try solving it on your own now." He said giving me the pen.

After trying multiple times, I finally got the hang of it. Math is still a pain in the ass, but I feel I understand it well enough to solve any grade 12 math problem.

"Good job." He praised.

After solving many problems, we were finally done.

"Thanks River." I smiled weakly.

"Good luck tomorrow." He nodded casually.

"Bye Mia!" Lara said.

"Bye Lara."

Leaving his house, I made my way to mine.

"Hey, loser." Alexio rolled his eyes.

"Hello, dear brother." I fake smiled.

"I can't believe you have a tutor!" He laughed out loud.

"I also can't believe that my genius brother sucks at Biology!" I laughed hard.

If you could see his face...You're gonna die laughing.

I was going up to my room when my father called me.

"Yes, father?"

"We need to talk."

"What happened?" I frowned. Whenever my dad calls me, I feel nervous and my heart just starts beating.

"Don't worry, nothing bad." He replied and I felt relived.

"So, tomorrow is your final day at school for your final year, and since it's summer, I was thinking you could go with your friends somewhere and spend the time there."

"Are we in danger?" I quickly asked because I know him. He wouldn't send me just like that.

"We...We might be, yes."

"Who?"

"Luciano." He simply said.

"Luciano as in my half-brother?" I said with my eyes wide open.

"Yes."
