"ADRIAN!" I yelled jumping on him and giving him the biggest hug ever. God I love him.

"Hey Mimi!" He replied, hugging me back.

He likes to call me Mimi, in fact, this is the name he gave me when we were kids because he couldn't utter Mia. 

"I missed you!" My voice was muffled because my face was practically buried in his neck.

He puts me down and put both of his hands on each side of my cheeks, "I missed you too." 

"Welcome Adrian, how are you?" My mother greeted.

"I am good Leila, and you?" 

"I am good."

"Did uncle Danny come with you?" I asked.

"Yes, he did, but he has some work." 

Thank god there is no school today. I want to spend time with Adrian as much as I could. I mean you could say that he is my twin brother, but not exactly, you know? I am older than him in probably few months, but we lived everything together. He was my best-friend in New York and still is. 

Adrian and I went upstairs to his room, so he could settle down and organize his stuff, or should I say, I organize his stuff.  

"So, any boyfriend here and there?" He said while taking his stuff out of his bag.

"Umm...nope, you?" 

"Since you hesitated, it means that there is someone you want him to be, am I right?" He smirked. 

Fuck, he knows me too well.

"Maybe." I rolled my eyes.

"Tell me, I am all ears."

"Well...there's this guy named River, he is kind of my friend. I am not really sure what we are. But...I don't really know, I don't know what I am feeling or what I am feeling."

"You clearly don't know what you are feeling or talking since you said feeling twice." He laughed out loud.

UGH!

"Shutup!" I giggled.

"He got you right." He continued laughing. 

"I hate you." 

He just kept laughing.

Opening the door to the diner, Adrian and I walked in. This diner is the town's most famous diner and everyone comes here to eat because the food is...fire. 

I told Adrian to find a booth and I walked towards the counter to order. After giving my order, I paid and walked back, but on my way back, I saw David and River sitting on the booth beside us. 

"Hey Mia!" David greeted. River didn't say anything, he was just staring. 

"Hello, David." I smiled and then looked at River, "River." I nodded.

"Is that your boyfriend?" David smirked. 

"Adrian? Oh no!" I laughed, "That's my cousin."

"Oh well, you two look cute together." He said.

I was about to say something when River cleared his throat. He looked up at me and said, "No, they don't." 

That took me off guard because...? I don't know.

"Oh well, I'll see you guys later." I smiled awkwardly and went to Adrian.

"What's your problem dude?" David asked after Mia walked away.

"Adrian is my problem. What the fuck is he doing here?" I growled.

"Shh, dude! Why are you mad at him?" 

"Look, Look where's his hand! He is touching her." OH for fucks sake, what the fuck is happening to me. 

"Oh my god!" David said, realization hit him. "You like her!" He whispered.

"Shhh! I don't. I just don't like when boys touch her." I rolled his eyes even though I know he is right, but I do not want to admit it. 

I can't like her.

I can't like her.

"You do like her, tell her man!" 

"Did you forget that we cannot be together?" I hissed. I cannot have her hear me since she's sitting beside us. 

"I am sure Demetrio will approve of you dating his daughter." He smirked. 

"Shutup!" I said and stood up. I have to leave this place before murdering Adrian. 

As I was walking outside, I saw them laughing and holding hands. All I could see is red. Just red. So, I did the unthinkable...I walked towards them, snatched her arm like I always do, and walked outside the diner. 

Just like that.

"What is wrong with you! why do you keep doing that?" She yelled.

"What are you doing...sitting there with that...that." I growled.

"Are you crazy? It's not your business! Besides, I told you he is my cousin." She yelled again.

"Oh so your cousin is holding your hands and you two laughing together?" I can't believe I just said that. I mean...that's normal between cousins, but I couldn't hold it.

Do you know how it feels to like someone you know you cannot have and then see them hanging out with other people and doing things you want to do with them? 

"Why do you care, ha?" She asked firmly.

Why do I care?

I grabbed her arm and pushed her softly inside my car. I hopped in and sped off.

"Where are we going, River?" She yelled.

I didn't answer. 

I was driving to the lake, the first time she kissed me. I don't know what's happening to me, but this jealousy thing is killing me. 

What happened between yesterday and today, I don't know. I mean...I controlled myself for years, why can't I control myself now?

Because she never had a boyfriend in those years. My subconscious reminded me.

True... I mean she didn't, but I should control myself. After all, she is Demetrio's daughter. 

Fuck.

I parked the car and stepped out of the car. Mia did the same.

"River! talk to me, what's happening? Why are you acting like this?"

"Look Mia...I-I am sorry. It's just-" I stopped mid-sentence. What should I tell her, fuck.

"It's just what?"

"I thought you don't want to be my friend...and you know, I freaked out."

"Why would you think that?" She frowned. I mean yeah...why stupid River?

"I don't know...I felt that way and I freaked out. I am sorry." I said.

She took few steps towards me and hugged me. "You thought wrong." She murmured. 

You are so close...do it River, kiss her. Do it. 

No. No. I shouldn't. 

"Umm...Let's get you back." I smiled softly and she nodded.
