Oooooh! 1k reads! Gotta do something special! So here ya go! This is totally different then my usual topics.

Modern btw.

Slam. There in front of Merlin was almost all the photos, paintings, and sketches Merlin had gotten done over the years

"Who are you, and how can you live forever?" The tall, gruff officer asked.

Merlin shrugged. This seemed to anger the man.

"Who are you? I'm sure your names not Colin. What is your real name?" The man questioned.

This again. All Merlin had to do was make the man think he was crazy and he'd go to a mental institute again. Those were easier to escape from then jail.

"My name's Merlin," he replied casually. "You know, like the Arthurian legend Merlin?" The man nodded to answer Merlin. "What's your name? Y'know, so I don't have to call you dude the whole time."

"My name's Kayden." His eyes had softened a little seeing that Merlin would share. "How about you tell me your story then Merlin?"

"Sure, why not?" So far all was going to plan for Merlin. "Well it all started with me going to Camelot. Where I went to work for Gaius, and-" Merlin went on to explain everything he could still remember that had happened. The man listened intently. Then Merlin started going over things he'd been around for that no one remembered. Soon Kayden started to look skeptical of what he was saying. So Merlin decided to take the final step to insanity. Or at least making the man believe he was insane.

"Oh and I have a call right?"

"Yes."

"Could I call my grandkids?" Merlin asked.

"You... Don't have grandkids..." The man told him skeptically.

"Oh sorry, wrong timezone. Or was it century?" Merlin continued to mumble random words for a while.

Then Kayden pulled out a walkie talkie and spoke into it, "yeah, tell Arthur it's not him. Just a demented, unhinged idiot."

"Wait... Did you say Arthur?"

"Yes, why?"

Merlin was stunned, could this be the once and future king? "Could-could I meet him?"

"Do you think you know him?"

This question caused Merlin to snort. "I just told you parts of my life story, the whole thing would be too long to tell!" If this is the dallop head I know, then yes, I'd like to see him."

He picked up the walkie talkie again, "he'd like to meet Arthur... Remember how he said if anyone talked about him and called him a prat, clot pole or dallop head to let them in?"

There was talking back on the other side.

"Yes, he said dallop head."

More buzzing from the walkie talkie.

"Alrighty Colin, Or Merlin. You're a lucky guy. You get to meet the demanding man. Good luck bud." Kayden led him out of the room and through multiple hallways.

Finally he came to a door. Knock, knock knock.

"Come in!" A muffled voice called. Merlin immediately recognized it.

"Stay here for a second." Kayden demanded.

Now Merlin was freaking out. Was it really him? Would he still be mad that Merlin never told him about his magic? Would Arthur kill him?

"Alright, you can come in now," possibly Arthur called.

Merlin took a deep breath, and slid the door open slowly.

There in the desk... Was another man.

"You're not Arthur," Merlin whined. He felt the tears gather in his eyes.

Why did he get so excited? It wasn't likely to be him anyway. Swiftly Merlin turned and with his head lowered, he ran towards the door. Before he could exit, he ran into something solid and warm. So it couldn't be the door.

Slowly Merlin lifted his tear stained face to find blue eyes looking down at him.

Was it... Was it really... Arthur?

"Merlin?"

It was him. He was back! Merlin had his arms around his long lost friend, while he was sobbing.

"Uh, a little privacy please Kayden, Samuel. I'll call you on the long distance calling device when we're ready for you to come back."

Thus, the Prince was left with his crying servant. Merlin cried for about half an hour.

When Merlin finally stopped crying Arthur spoke up. "When I was in lake Avalon, I was aware of everything that happened around the lake." He paused feeling a tear slip down his cheek too.

Arthur continued, "everyday you came and vented. Everyday that you came and told of the new world, how much you missed Camelot, or of your many losses over the many years, you made me want to return." Sniff, "Two years ago you stopped coming because you needed to move on. That was the night I arose. Kayden and Samuel were there on a date. They agreed to help me find you... I've missed you Merlin."

"I'd say I haven't missed you at all you turnip head, but you'd know that was a lie." Merlin's voice breaking multiple times as he spoke.
