"Well, should we explore our resort and Oahu a bit?" You ask.

"Ja. We've got some time to kill before abendessen." Angela says.

You take each other's hand and exit the hotel room. You walk down the hall and head down to the lobby to see what the hotel had to offer. The lobby looked cozy, and was fairly big. There were Hawaiian paintings and hibiscus flower pictures as well as some plants outside.

"They have a spa here." Angela says.

"That would relax you, wouldn't it?" You say.

"Yes it would. Seems like they have a few restaurants here, too."

"So they do. A Japanese place and a steakhouse. Wonder if they're any good."

"Well, we could try them to find out."

"Or we could go on yelp."

"Haha. But that's not as fun, or tastes as good."

"I'm just saying there's more than one way to find out if it's a good place."

"Yeah yeah. We should head outside for a bit. Check out the pool and the beach."

"We didn't bring our swimsuits though."

"We don't have to swim. Just walk around the pool and on the beach. Then if we'd like to, then we can go up, change into our suits, then swim."

"Sounds like a plan."

You two walk outside and see the pool. Despite being very close to the beach, it was kinda crowded. There were kids playing in the pool while their parents watched them, playing Marco Polo.

"That could be us in a few years." Angela says.

"I hope not." You say.

Angela stops walking and looks at you, frowning "Why?"

"Because they have an odd sense of fashion. Who wears socks in their sandals?"

Angela laughs and smiles again, relieved. "I thought you meant something else."

"I know, and I didn't mean it like that. I love you, and I wouldn't want to lose you." You say as you two begin walking again.

"Danke (y/n). Ich liebe dich."

"Ich liebe dich auch."

"Your German has improved."

"Well, it is spoken to me on a daily basis."

"That is true."

You make your way down to Waikiki beach and start to step on the soft, white sand. There are several colorful umbrellas scattered throughout the beach with plenty sunbathers all over. In the blue water there were several surfers, most of them just waiting for the right wave or wiping out.

"I've always wanted to do that." Angela says, "but as you know Switzerland is landlocked."

"Why didn't you attempt it at Gibraltar?" You ask.

"I don't know. Maybe I wasn't up to it or I was too busy working."

"That sure sounds like you."

You two walk closer to the water and start to walk along Waikiki beach, just talking with one another. Your hands never left each other's, as you walked hand in hand with your significant other. A nice tropical breeze started to blow, having Angela's blonde hair move with the wind, making her look more angelic.

"You look beautiful." You say.

"Thank you. You look good, too." She says.

"Not compared to you, though."

"Well, I can't help it." Angela giggles at her own joke and you smile. "I can see why plenty of people come here. It's a nice place, with great water and excellent weather."

"In comparison to Switzerland, I can see why you would say that, Angela."

"What's that lagoon over there?"

Angela points to a lagoon where several people are wading in it, enjoying the salt water.

"That's Duke Paoa Kahanamoku Lagoon. It's named after a Native Hawaiian Olympian. He's also credited as the father of modern surfing." You say.

"You know quite a bit about this, don't you?"

"I did my research. You could rent paddle boards or just swim there if you wanted. It's got that beach feel without the waves."

"I feel like I'm listening to an advertisement."

You laugh. "Probably because I had to hear it several times while researching our trip."

Angela laughs and you continue walking along the beach. You two decide to head back to the hotel to change into your swimsuits, since Angela wanted to swim in the lagoon. As you're walking back you smirk to yourself and nudge Angela a bit into the ocean, where her sandals and feet get wet.

"Hey! (Y/n)!" Angela yells at you smiling. You're laughing and trying to apologize, but Angela grabs your arm and brings you with her, so the bottom of both yours and Angela's legs are in the water. The two of you are laughing at what happened and share a kiss. You look at the horizon a bit and feel the salt water hitting your legs before walking out of the water to return to the hotel room.

"I read that the lagoon can get crowded at times." You say on the elevator ride to the hotel room.

"Well, I don't think it'll be anything like Waikiki beach." Angela says.

"Of course not. You saw how populated the two were. Besides, if we wanted to go to the beach, I already have a couple planned, one of which is fairly exclusive."

"How did you secure that one?"

"Well, you know how we were in a military organization called Overwatch, right?"

"Ja. What about it."

"Well, there's a federal beach for people with military IDs. And since it's exclusive, there won't be too many people there."

The elevator stops on your floor and you two head to the hotel room, continuing your conversation.

"But Overwatch is defunct. You sure we can still go?" Angela says.

"Already talked with someone. He says we're fine since we have our IDs and they're not expired." You say

"Who'd you talk to?"

"I think his name was Lieutenant Carlson? I don't fully remember. What's important is that we can go to a clean beach that isn't too populated."

"Sounds great."

You enter your room and get ready to go to the lagoon. You take turns in the bathroom to use it and change into your swimsuit. You wear your swim trunks and a t-shirt that you'd take off when you reached the lagoon. Angela has a cover up over her two-piece swimsuit. She also has a bottle of sunscreen with her.

"We should apply a layer when we get there. Don't want to start off with a sunburn." Angela says.

"Yeah. That would be best. You ready to go?"  You ask.

"Almost. Have to grab a bag for our phones, clothes, and whatnot for when we go into the water."

"Are you sure? It could be stolen if no one watches it. Besides, our phones are waterproof."

"I still want to bring a small bag for our clothes and stuff like towels and sunscreen. It's just a small thing."

"Alright. Hurry up though. We want to get a good spot."

She quickly packs a bag and you two head down the elevator again to go to the lagoon. You got there and found a nice spot with two lounge chairs that didn't have too many people around and decided to place your things there.

"Well, looks like we found a spot." Angela says placing her bag down.

"Yes we did. A fairly decent one, too." You say.

You take off your shirt and Angela removes her cover up. You place them in the bag and the two of you apply sunscreen, helping each other with sunscreening your backs. Once that's taken care of, the two of you enter the cool water. Despite living in a landlocked country, Angela knew how to swim, even though she didn't really need to. She could've just walked in the water. It was five feet deep.

You two enter the lagoon and head deeper into the water and further away from the shore, but not too far where you couldn't see your area. You two lower yourselves so only your heads are above the water, making your whole body touch the water.

"This feels great." Angela says, sighing as the cool water touches her skin.

"It does. You enjoying the vacation so far?" You ask.

"It's a bit early to ask that, but yes. I am enjoying it very much." Angela starts to float on her back.

"Hello there!" A paddle boarder says to you two.

"Hello." You say and wave.

"How easy is it to paddle board?" Angela asked the guy.

"It takes a bit of getting used to, but it's fun. Have fun you two." The friendly paddle boarder says.

You two wave back and he continues his paddle journey around the lagoon. A few minutes pass of you two just talking about random things and enjoying the water.

"Why do you think it failed?" Angela asks randomly.

"You're thinking of work again." You say.

"No. Not that. The cleaning of that oil spill by Florida. You know, the one that happened last week."

"Oh. I don't know." You move closer to her and float next to her, holding her hand. A few seconds pass before you say "Nice save."

"I wasn't thinking of work."

"Please. I know you. It was somewhere in your brain."

"Nein habe ich nicht!"

"But you were initially before I reminded you."

Angela smirks and you smile, knowing that you were right. Then you feel water splash against your face.

"Hey! What was that for?" You ask the laughing Angela.

"For being right." She says. Then she gets some water splashed onto her. "Ack! Why?"

"Payback."

"Oh it's on."

The two of you splash each other with the water for a little bit. You didn't see this side of Angela too much anymore. The playful side of her. She was a bit back during some of your Overwatch days, but lately she wasn't. You were glad that she was happy now.

After a few minutes, the two of you stop after Angela gives one more splash to your face and stand looking at each other in the water, laughing at what happened.

"That must've been interesting to see. Two adults splashing each other like children." You say.

"Who cares what they saw. We're here to have fun." Angela says.

You smile and you two kiss each other. It isn't too long, but it felt great.

"By the way, I won the splash fight." Angela says.

"No you didn't. I totally won." You say

"Spare me. I hit you more times."

"You would have, if I was as big as a mountain. I totally hit you more times."

"You didn't get the last hit, did you?"

"Okay. Let's just call it a draw or an undecided victory."

"That's something someone who lost would say, but alright."

"Shake on it."

Angela grabs your hand, but instead of shaking it, she pulls you in for a quick kiss. The two of you look at the not-so-distant ocean and see the sun in the sky, almost getting ready to set.

"We should head out and dry off a bit while the sun is still out." You say.

"Ja. After you, second place." Angela says.

"Okay now you're just gloating."

Angela laughs, but then stops when she gets a face full of salt water. She wipes her eyes and sees you running for the shore.

"Zur Hölle nein." She says and chases after you.

Lucky for you, you make it to shore before Angela so she can't splash you again. You two lay your towels on the chairs and lay down on them, looking at the lagoon and soaking up the sun's rays. Soon you would be having dinner and trying not to go to sleep because of the time zone change, but it was nice to enjoy this peaceful moment with Angela. You look over and see Angela resting her eyes while the sun was beating down before it would set for the night.

(A/n) Chapter is out! Yay! Fun first day in Hawaii, right? I'll be having a couple more chapters of the Hawaii trip and will probably include more things at Oahu like Pearl Harbor or some surf lessons or something like that. We'll see though. Have a nice day :D
