Angela POV

Our twins have been growing up so quickly it's almost insane. What seems like weeks ago they took their first steps but now they're walking everywhere in their little shoes. Sarah is more talkative than Jacob, but Jacob likes to play a lot more. He's over here building with blocks and playing with Hot Wheels whereas Sarah would rather be talking with me in the kitchen. Basically, they're quite different, but they get along quite well, and I think that pleases every parent.

(Y/n) and I still worked at the hospital in Toronto, which was what we decided on. Initially I wanted to go back to helping out people around the world, but now that we have the twins, it's a bit more difficult. I don't like that I have to watch as there's chaos throughout the world, but I have to first start with my city and keep those I love safe.

I've done further research into the Valkyrie suit. I'm able to actually fly with it now rather than just glide, which is nice. I'm still trying to figure out how to link it with the staff. What I plan to do is to have it link with several different people so I could heal multiple people on the battlefield rather than just one. I hope I don't need to use that as much, but with the chaos that's developing it's hard to say.

"Are you enjoying settling down?" (Y/n) asks me one night as we're sitting on the couch, relaxing after a hard days work and putting two kids to bed who did not want to sleep yet.

I think for a moment. "Yes and no. I love what I have right now, don't get me wrong. I love helping out the people here and there's nothing I wouldn't do for Jacob and Sarah, but it's hard to see what's happening around the world and sticking here. Over the past couple of days there have been a few attacks in the Middle East with several injuries and I want to help, but I can't. Not when there's work to do here and twins to attend to."

"Well, I remember you said before that you wanted to take it easy. Save lives and have a family of your own."

"Ja, and I really enjoy that and I wouldn't trade it for the world, but-"

"It's hard for you to rest with what's going on the world." I nod my head and sigh, laying my head down on (y/n)'s lap as he strokes my hair. "It's in our nature. Our job was and still is to save as many lives as we can."

"We've saved plenty over the years."

"Indeed we have. Probably caused a bit of an overpopulation crisis." I smile and chuckle as he continues. "Maybe it's time we start to live our own lives. When's the last time you talked with someone from Overwatch?"

I try to remember the last time I spoke to someone from Overwatch. "I traded a few texts with Torbjorn and Brigitte a few days ago. We were discussing... something. I don't remember. Had to do with Reinhardt I believe. Then of course there's all of the social media following."

"Those are nice, yes, but when did you have a genuine conversation with someone from Overwatch? Like through a phone or video call or face-to-face? You've gotta think they're going through the same thing you are."

"Uhhhh... Not in a long while I don't think. Last Christmas maybe?"

"Don't you think that maybe it would be a good idea to talk to one of them? You know, hear someone's voice? Winston would probably like to talk to someone other than Lena. Sure they're great for each other, but he'd enjoy talking to someone with scientific knowledge. Or what about Genji? You kinda saved his life."

"Maybe Winston. I don't know of anyone who's been able to make contact with Genji. Not since he started to roam around to find himself."

"Didn't he tell us he met some omnic at some monastery?"

"He did, didn't he? Wonder if they even have cell service there."

"It's the 21st century. They gotta."

It's silent for a few moments. "What would we have to talk about?"

"There's plenty to talk about. Current events, the kids, his life at the monastery if you talk with Genji or some sciency thing with Winston, the weather. The list goes on."

I shrug. "I don't know. Maybe. I'll figure it out tomorrow."

"It's just a suggestion. I mean, I can't think of anyone who wouldn't want to talk to you. You're fucking Dr.-"

"Mama? Papa?

I sit up and see Sarah by the stairs, holding her plush koala. I give (y/n) a stern look for swearing in front of Sarah. (Y/n)'s cheeks get pink and immediately gets defensive. "Hey in my defense I didn't know she was up."

I roll my eyes. "What's wrong, mein Kind?"

"I'm thirsty."

"Didn't I give you a glass of water when I tucked you in?" (Y/n) says.

"It- It spilled."

(Y/n) sighs. "Of course it did. On the carpet or on the bed?"

"Carpet."

"Did you give her a real glass, (y/n)?" I ask.

"No. They're too young plus I knew this could happen and didn't want any incidents. Besides, we'd hear it if it broke, followed by crying and most likely blood."

"Did you step in it? Are your slippers wet?" Sarah shakes her head. "Is Jacob still sleeping?" She nods. "Alright. Go get her some water, Mr. Pottymouth."

"Oh haha. We really doing that?"

"You're the one who swore in front of her."

"Fucking." Sarah says, only proving my point.

"See? Your carelessness has spread to our young."

"Sarah, don't say that. Only I can say that." (Y/n) says, filling up a plastic blue cup with water from the fridge."

"Why?" Sarah asks.

"Because it's a bad word and mommy doesn't want you to say it." (Y/n) gives her the cup and pets her hair before kissing her forehead. "Want me to come up and tuck you in again?" Sarah nods and he walks up the stairs with her.

I smile watching two of my favorite people go up the stairs to Sarah's room. Then my text tone goes off. I get up off the couch to see who it was, and I laugh a bit at the irony. Genji of all people sent me a text.

Genji

Hey Angela! It's been a while. I felt like I should update you on my well-being. I have accepted who I have become! A green cyborg ninja is pretty awesome! I can't thank you enough for saving my life, and would like for you to come visit me in Japan if it isn't any trouble. If (y/n) wants to come too, he's more than welcome.

I read the text over, thinking whether I should accept or not. On one hand, I'd love to see Genji again. I'm sure (y/n) would want to tag along. However, the kids are still very young. I'd rather not take them to Japan at their age just yet. And if I went with (y/n), then who'd watch the kids? I have no idea where my father is (and I don't trust him with the twins). I guess we could have (y/n)'s parents watch over them if we needed to, but we seem to always do that.

My significant other starts to walk down the stairs and I sit back down on the couch. He could help answer these questions I have and make some decisions. I mean, I could, but I'm quite indecisive when it comes to some things like these.

"Sarah go back to sleep?" I ask as he sits back down.

"Yep. Tucked her in and talked a bit about her language."

"Oh really? You're actually showing some maturity for once."

"Yeah I told her that she could say it when you're not around."

"And there it goes."

(Y/n) laughs. "No she'll behave. I trust her." He looks down on my phone. "Who texted you?"

"Ironically Genji."

"Really?"

"Mhm. He thanked me for saving his life and has invited me to Japan. He said you can come along if you'd like."

"Well, isn't that impressive. Like the chapter set this up."

"What?"

"Nothing. Go on."

"Well, I don't know what to tell him. I want to go, but I don't want to take the kids. Who's going to watch them while we're gone?"

(Y/n) thinks for a bit. "Me."

"You?"

"Yeah. Me. Angela, you deserve to go. Genji was your creation."

"You were a big help with that."

"I was, yes, but-"

"I don't know. I kinda want you to be there with me."

"We've done this before where you go somewhere and I stay. It's just for a few days." (Y/n) grabs a hold of my left hand. "I wouldn't suggest it if I didn't think it was a bad idea. Besides, something tells me you want to see him again. Just you and him."

I smile and we kiss. "Danke."

"Bitte. Now Sarah can say that word as much as she likes."

"Oh shut up."

(Y/n) laughs. "We'll discuss more in the morning. Text Genji back to confirm it. I'm going to change into my pajamas and read a bit. We got work tomorrow."

"Okay. I'll head up in a second."

We quickly kiss and I text Genji back accepting his offer. I head upstairs and change into my pajamas and do my night routine.

Timeskip

Today was the day I was supposed to fly to Japan. (Y/n) was going to drive me there and drop me off, so we could save on parking. Unfortunately, all that meant waking up early, and I forgot that (y/n) was supposed to wake me up.

(Y/n) shook me awake and I blink a bit, seeing (y/n) standing up over me. "Wake the fuck up Samurai. We have a plane to catch." He bends over and takes off his shades smirking.

I groan before sitting up. "Really? That's it. You've ruined Cyberpunk for me."

"Sorry. Yeah I know. I hated that I wanted to do that so badly, but I enjoyed doing it. So much."

"You know you could wake me up like a normal person, right?"

"Where's the fun in that? We're leaving soon. I'll start your breakfast." He pecks my cheek before walking out of the room.

I get dressed and do my morning routine before heading downstairs, where an egg sandwich is awaiting me. (Y/n) isn't there, so I assume he's waking up the twins. Soon, we're all ready to hop into the Porsche to drop me off. The commute to the airport takes a while, but we left early enough where I wasn't stressing over missing my flight.

We pull over to the terminal entrance and get my bags out. I look at (y/n) one last time. "Well, looks like we're here."

"Yes we are. Call us when you arrive and whatnot. I want updates and I know Sarah and Jake want to see their mom tell them goodnight when the time comes, right?"

"Yeah!" Jacob exclaims.

Sarah looks sad to see me go. I smile and get down on one knee to be at her eye level. "I'll be back home before you know it. In the meantime, you make sure your brother and dad stay out of trouble, okay?"

Sarah nods her head and embraces me. Jacob joins in that hug and I kiss both their foreheads before standing up and embracing (y/n). We kiss and look into each other's eyes. "Tell Genji I say kon'nichiwa."

"I will. Goodbye (y/n). See you in a few days."

I grab my bags and wave one last time before entering the terminal, heading to the Land of the Rising Sun

(A/n) Sorry that took so freakin long. I had a lot of stuff going on these few months. Had a lot of personal matters to attend to and I started a new book. My first Rainbow Six Siege story has been published and is already three chapters in. Thank y'all for reading. Sorry this wait was so long. I can only apologize so much haha. Also, E3 was eventful. What was your favorite part? For me it was either Banjo-Kazooie in Smash or Keanu Reeves (you could obviously tell that one in the story lol). The next chapter shouldn't take as long as this one to put out, but we'll see if my summer class decides to overwork me. Have a nice day :D
